It’s a hybrid, a pub and a certain kind of home at once. It’s the Hunyadi Lakásbisztró! This is not a fantasy name, a couple years ago someone actually lived there. Today you can go on a tour online before you explore the real premises offline. But be careful, you’ll immediately feel the urge to grab your bag and enjoy a mug of beer while reading the daily newspaper. This place is 8 mins away from Fisherman Bastion. The place is probably the most traditional from food to setting. The goulash tastes like how your mum would have cooked it and the chicken with noodles was really nice. The price was reasonable too. It is always busy so prepare to wait if you would love to try.

Tiny tiny tiny little place just about 8 minute walk downhill from Schulek Staircase at Fisherman's Bastion serving warm and comforting food. Do expect to sit almost shoulder to shoulder with guests from next table. I was lucky enough to get the table next to the small window and enjoyed the early Autumn, albeit wet, weather. Just go in and find an empty table, the server (there seems to be only ONE guy) will come to you.

To be honest we came across this place by accident. We were walking to another restaurant and we got hangry in Hungary so we said well this looks lovely and it was. We sat outside late lunch, food was homey and excellent and the staff (waiter with the red dye hair) was great at what he did. And what is up with Hungary and lemonade! They kill it!!

Good stop off walking back from the sites of Budapest to the lively Pest. Didn't eat, but had a good choice of drinks, including a lovely mulled wine. Recommended.

Such a lovely place with vibe, very well located. I had a pink forest mocktail and goulash soup, all was delicious. Portion was big and luckily the staffs recommended me to try 1 thing at a time to see how I feel and so on. Lovely customer service 😍

I really enjoyed my visit in this place. The service was excellent — the staff were friendly and made me feel very welcome. The place has a cozy and charming atmosphere, perfect for spending time with friends or just relaxing on your own. The coffee was delicious, probably one of the best I’ve had in a while. I also really appreciated that they offer power banks, so you can easily charge your phone while enjoying your time there. I highly recommend this café if you’re looking for a warm and inviting spot with great coffee, friendly service.

We stopped by for a quick bite but ended up staying for a late lunch. We ordered a cappuccino, Hungarian beer, chicken salad, and Chicken Paprikash with homemade noodles. Overall, the food was tasty, though there were a few misses. The chicken salad was a disappointment, it lacked dressing and the walnuts listed on the menu were missing. Unfortunately, my husband had a poor experience with it. The Hungarian beer was also underwhelming. On the other hand, I was very pleased with my meal. The Chicken Paprikash was rich and flavorful, and the homemade noodles were soft and comforting, almost like gnocchi. The cappuccino was smooth and satisfying as well.
