Had a great meal here after spending time at the beach. The ribs were absolutely delicious tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I also tried the calamari, which was really tasty and one of my favorites. The location is perfect, just near the beach, so after sunbathing and feeling tired and hungry, this spot is the best place to recharge with hearty and satisfying food. Definitely worth a visit!

We went for an evening meal to celebrate our anniversary and the next thing I knew my boyfriend proposed to me! The servers were so kind in applauding and playing music to celebrate us! The food was amazing and they gave us a free dessert to celebrate our engagement! On top of that. The owners son told us we didn’t have to pay as they were happy to host us. They were all so kind and thoughtful and has definitely made this a holiday to remember. I would definitely recommend this place! Thank you to all!!

Google
I thought I was walking into another average steak house, but it wasn't! The service was great and there were lots of different options on the menu, I choose the ribs/steak option, were you choose your choice of ribs, either pork, lamb or beef and that then comes with a sirloin steak. Both were cooked perfectly and I walked out feeling like I'd had an excellent dinning experience, without paying a fortune. A great team effort from the staff at Hurricanes, I'll definitely be going back

Google
Incredible place to eat excellent ribs. As a starter, we ordered the char-grilled octopus, excellent, a 10/10. Then we ordered the famous beef and pork ribs, and both were delicious. We paired them with sweet potatoes and roast potatoes. Everything was delicious. The service was great. The floor manager, Lucia, is incredible, fun and very helpful. The atmosphere can be a bit noisy if the place is full, but you can still talk. Highly recommended for those living in the Bondi area.

Google
I’ve been going to Hurricane’s in Bondi since the very beginning—back in 1995 when they first opened—and let me tell you, it’s been unforgettable. I’ve been hooked ever since! The pork ribs? Absolutely legendary. Juicy, tender, and slathered in that rich, sticky signature sauce with just the right char from the grill. I still remember being completely blown away the first time I tried them. And who could forget the complimentary bread they used to bring out? I’ve missed that for so long—it was the perfect starter before diving into a mountain of ribs. These days, the hardest part is choosing the sauce to go with the ribs—but I usually end up with the mushroom (my fave) plus one more for dipping. You honestly can’t go wrong, they’re all packed with flavour. The vibe at Bondi has always been lively, the staff friendly, and the quality has remained consistently top-notch through the years. It’s not just a meal—it’s a nostalgic experience that brings back great memories every time. Hurricane’s Bondi will always hold a special place in my foodie heart. And now, with so many more locations around, there’s even more to love. Keep up the amazing work!

Google
We visited here as we were looking for a steak dinner. I ordered the fillet with roast vegetables and garlic butter (cooked rare to blue). It was amazing. We ordered the red sangria to share, which was refreshing and fruity. Just what you want on a warm day. The staff were friendly and very good with the dietary requirements. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Google
Upbeat atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff! We ordered the Wagyu burger with sweet potato fries and a full stack of Beef ribs. The sweet potato fries are soooooo good!!! Burger bun was soft and pillowy, and the beef was juicy and flavourful! The ribs were tasty although a little on the tougher end. We also had the City2surf Aperol spritz and an Espresso Martini. The martini was great! Food and drinks took a while to arrive, we waited for about 20 minutes, reasonable as it was absolutely packed but can be improved!

Google
Love the place, the food was amazing. We ordered the ribs and they were the best ones we had ever had. Also the service was lovely, very attentive and nice, they recommended us what to order and did not disappoint. Pauric and Emily amazing waitresses. And the manager Amalia was lovely too, she took care of us as well. Definitely will be back ❤️

Yelp
Had to come back for round 2. Still was amazing! The prawns were definitely to die for. My daughter said it was the best Caesar Salad she had ever had. Our favorite pace in Bondi Beach!!!

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise! Didn't really know much about this place but booked a reservation for lunch. The service was great and the beers were ice cold! We split a full rack of the pork ribs and mashed puree. It was a finger licking delicious meal. The ribs were tender and the sauce was amazing. We were sad to leave 2 ribs but we were stuffed. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
A beach option that offers salads and entrees! The waitress was not the most pleasant and probably the first person in Sydney that o encountered who was not. I ordered fish and chips and it was average. We also had the half Portuguese chicken and that was pretty good. Also ordered the pink sangria and was a bit disappointed. It was like any other cocktail and not really what I would consider sangria. The Lychee was a nice touch to the drink. Overall it was more expensive beach food option. You pay for a nicer establishment and not necessarily better food.

Yelp
Decent spot for a higher end dining experience by the beach - if you prefer to avoid the fast food and franchises. The staff are courteous, though we had a slight mix up with our bill. The area is very clean and professional feeling. Our food was great - the chicken wings were actually barbecued, and the fish was cooked very well - very tender.

Yelp
The ribs were I also got the Sidney rock oysters and Mediterranean salad which were great. This was a great spot for lunch. Sit outside

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Hurricanes for over a year now, since I lived in Pyrmont and would walk by Darling Harbour and smell those delicious ribs. Never made it to the Darling Harbour one but when my friend suggested Hurricanes for dinner on Saturday, how could I say no? We booked for 730 and got there about 15 minutes early. There was already a group of hungry patrons waiting for a table, but we surprisingly got seated straight away. It was a few minutes before anyone had come to our table. The waitress came and apologized for the wait and took our drink order. The cocktail menu looked awesome but I went with an old favorite - the mojito. My friend got a red wine and we ordered our food. I got the half rack of pork ribs with chips, per the waitress' recommendation and my friend got the full rack. She asked if we wanted bread while we ate, and as I was a bit hungry and tipsy, I said sure. A nice loaf of warn wheat bread came out with butter, which was nice but considering how much food was coming, probably could have done without it. The ribs came out in like 10 minutes and it was massive. We asked for bibs cause we knew it would get messy. I had the half and it was huge. Each bite was delicious, juicy and the sauce was just yummy. The chips were really nice, some were drenched in the sauce which made it even more delicious. I killed my half and my friend killed the full. Soo good, lived up to the hype. Great customer service to boo!

Yelp
Yelp in Australia and NZ is very hit or miss, we intended to go to Milky Lane here in Bondi, but of course got there and didn't exist anymore, but that wasn't mentioned on Yelp. Hurricanes wasn't showing as being open till 5pm on Yelp, yet here we are and 1pm enjoying a surprisingly fantastic meal. I got the fried chicken chili sandwich and it was an amazing combo of flavor, size and tenderness. I thought about ordering a second one it was so good! Not quite a Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich but a great alternative if that is what you are looking for! Great view of the beach and water from the outside patio. Very enjoyable discovery, especially given our hopes of the other place was dashed.

Yelp
4.5 Stars! The ribs are really good, one of the best I've had. Came here twice during my 3 weeks stay in Sydney. Made reservations prior so the wait did not take too long. The ribs were juicy and tender. The second time around, it was a bit burnt, but still good. Looking forward to visit this place again once I'm in Sydney later in April =)

Yelp
Hurricanes is pretty famous and with fame comes big expectations. People go to Hurricanes for the Ribs. If you want a meal to satisfy you this is the place to go. Get the bibs out and dig into the ribs with the famous BBQ sauce. The ribs come in an option of Lamb , Pork or Beef. They are all winners but the Beef is the best. I opted for the ribs previously and loved them but this time I wanted to try something a little different. So I ordered Calamari as entree and warm Sea food salad and a New York steak as the main. The Calamari was tasty with a nice sour cream sauce and lemon for added flavour. The calamari went well with the complementary brown bread. The New York steak was done medium well and accompanied by a mushroom sauce. The steak was juicy and tender. The Warm Seafood Salad was from the specials page and something different from the traditional menu. The salad contained Calamari, Octopus, scallops , prawns with beautiful balsamic vinegar and hints of citrus. The salad was full of peppers , tomatoes and olives. The serving size was more then generous and would definitely recommend this for seafood fans. Hurricanes is a great treat on a special occasion. Staff are friendly and service is good.

Yelp
I dine in quite regularly at hurricanes especially when I am very hungry and need a tasty protein hit. I love the ribs, steaks, cocktails and wine however I would like to review the takeaway option which is equally good! I've ordered the Mediterranean chicken breast salad and ribs on a number of occasions. Best way to go is to call beforehand and they make it within 20 minutes. The salad has these special candied walnuts that add a nice sweetness and texture to the salad. They've never gotten my order wrong and still serve full generous portions. There is a new delivery service now which charges an extra 5 or 10 dollars depending where you live. Their secret sauce is probably the best kept secret in Sydney!

Yelp
I didn't know Hurricane's was a chain, but it didn't take away from the great company, atmosphere, service, and food. The ribs were well-seasoned, tender, and juicy. Fries were hot, crispy, and well-seasoned. With names like Rump, Mammoth, and Goliath, it is def worth the trip! *It gets Packed! We were here on a Thursday evening and there was a wait! *Messy eating so don't wear fancy clothing

Yelp
Hurricane's Grill at Bondi Beach has a meal called the Goliath T-Bone a 1 Kg steak, yes 1 Kg, that is disgusting, talk about encouraging obesity. I was pretty disappointed with the food at Hurricane's, I felt like I was getting one of those $10 pub lunch specials, but paying three times the price. I am not an amazing cook by any means, but I could have cooked the meal they served me with very little effort and for a fraction of the price. So what is it we're paying for? Is it the location because there are other Bondi venues with the same locale advantage serving amazing food for the same price or less. I just felt a bit ripped off. I wouldn't have minded dessert, but $14.50 for sticky date pudding???? You must be joking, called into a café up the street.

Yelp
This restaurant is huge, which isn't surprising that it is incredibly busy all the time, and the meals are huge, and the bill may also have elephantiasis syndrome. Chops, burgers, ribs, rumps, or breasts, from the land or the sea, if it can be cooked on an open flame, mixed with delicious sides, or served on humungous plates, then they'll serve it. First tip here, book in advance if you have a large group. Second tip, if you're after some take away, separately next door is their take away store. Third tip, the kids burger at the take away, is exactly the same as the regular burger, but half the price. If you're going for the full ribs, then come prepared with stretchy jeans. Sometimes the service can be slow, and the wait staff are usually travellers, so there's a lot of burn and churn. Don't try and remember their name for next time, as they probably won't be there. I can't say the food is the absolute best I've ever had, the ribs are usually good, but can sometimes be smothered a bit too much in sauces. I haven't had a bad experience with the burgers, and the salads look quiet good as well.

Natasha C.

Yelp
I love bondi, but I do not love hurricanes. Nothing overly bad with the food. My veggie burger was average, my sweet potato fries a little burnt. Which was disappointing. The prices are a pretty expensive, and honestly you can get better steaks at other places. If it's your last choice than it's decent food but nothing to rave about or even go back. Staff are nice, though the ones on when I visited you could tell were new or have not been in hospitality long. The worse part is that the bathrooms where disguising.

Yelp
You'll be waiting at least 30 minutes (even if you've got a booking)... or up to two hours. Unless you arrive really late (ie: 9:30pm+). In saying this - it's definitely worth the wait! Suggest that you hit up the bar for a few drinks before dinner as you won't fit anything in once you've finished dinner! Hurricanes is known for it's ribs - I suggest the pork ribs which come with the most amazing basting I've ever had! If you want to have it all - I propose the 1/2 rack ribs with the steak or chicken (which is also really good as it's cooked Portuguese style and deliciously marinated). Otherwise, there is the option to share a full rack and indulge in a more premium steak (such as the fillet of tenderloin). In case you don't think the mains will fill you up, make a start with the 'house bread' which is complimentary (just ask for it if they forget to bring it) All meals come with chips or baked potato -- I highly recommend a side of creamy pepper sauce with either. Unfortunately, they don't substitute the chips/potato with salad.. so that'll be extra if you want it (which I recommend in order to rebalance your palate) -- and it's big enough to share between four people. The waiters are zoned to particular areas of the restaurant, so service is dedicated by one waiter and overall, really good. I've been to Hurricanes a few times (in Bondi and also their Darling Harbour venue) and the quality, taste and service is always consistent.

Yelp
Prime people watching spot, great service, and great food (as long as you're not vegetarian or order anything else other than ribs!). They also have Rekordlig ciders at the bar which is a very great refreshing cider (try the strawberry one!) It's a bit pricey but ok to have once in a while (particularly if you are entertaining out of town visitors). Also, If you're not feeling particularly hungry with the full ribs, I suggest sharing a full rack which ends up slightly cheaper.

Yelp
Ok. So there is something cool about bondi beach. The location of hurricanes is perfect for this place. I love barbeque. So all is good so far. I also was on business so the price was not minded. In fact I ordered the rack is rib combo. This is lamb, pork, and beef ribs. It is an enormous plate of foods. I mean enormous. Don't try this at home. All was good. But then the service was not good. I mean it was worse then a typical European restaraunt. Not good. Hello. Could I get some more napkins? No. OK. I will keep waiting. Perfect. That is what I wanted to do anyway. How did you know? The food itself was good. I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce. The meat was good though.
google avatar

Yelp
We dine here every time we visit Sydney and prefer this location even though it's jam-packed every single night of the week. Most often in the summer, of course. Being a native Texan, beating a good Texas BBQ rib (or Kansas for that matter) is way hard to do. However these Aussies have it down. Simply cannot miss the pork ribs. And,without a doubt, the people watching is half the fun too. We've always had exceptional service in the bar and dining area and highly recommend this location. Darling Harbour is good to...just not as good from a "people watching" and atmosphere perspective. Must have reservations (or "bookings" as they're referred to downunder) unless you want to stand in line all night long. Greg

Yelp
See my previous review for info on the burgers. As for the ribs, the pork ribs are great. So much better than the burger. My bf decided to try the beef ribs (mistake, I know). They were pretty good for beef ribs, but I would stick to the pork ribs. I actually got the ribs and steak combo because I was starving and it sounded good at the time. That was a mistake. I should have ordered a full rack instead because the steak sucked. After enjoying the scrumptious ribs, the steak was super bland and way too tough. Don't make the same blunder.
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
Great ribs, great steak, super size portions, friendly staff and a location a stones throw away from the beach make this place a winner for dinner with friends. Come with an empty belly and indulge!
google avatar

Roger H.

Yelp
Ok looks like the complimentary bread is finished! Pork ribs as good as ever and food came out faster than expected. Service is friendly and not hard to wave down. Oh the other great item on the menu is the octopus salad! That's also a must try! Best ribs in Sydney!
google avatar

Robert N.

Yelp
Came here in November with 3 other friends. This is a great location as it by Bondi Beach with a beautiful view. A friend who resides in Sydney recommended this place. We ordered 3 racks of ribs between the 3 of us, which came with fries or potato. In addition, we just had to include a salad. The ribs were pretty okay, a little more burnt than I would prefer. But, the meat still fell off its bone. Definitely enough food between the 4 of us. Tip: Make reservations as early as possible, otherwise expect a long wait.
google avatar

Danielle L.

Yelp
HURRICANES PORK RIBS TO TAKE-AWAY! If you haven't tried the ribs at Hurricanes, what the heck are you waiting for. THE best ribs in town, hands down. Tasty, juicy, the meat falls off the bone... They are heavenly. Phone in your order ahead, as the wait time is 15 mins, then swoop by and pick your meal right up. HURRICANES PORK RIBS TO TAKE-AWAY! There's really nothing more to be said.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
3 words: Best. Ribs. Ever. You won't leave hungry. Guaranteed.

Yelp
Just when we thought our favourite barbeque restaurant couldn't get any better..it did. Hurricanes barbeque and grill have opened a Hurricanes Express on Sydney's famous Bondi Beach. Open 7 days a week from 12-11pm and offering the relatively same menu (just a slightly downsized version) of Hurricanes Bar and Grill, Hurricanes Express is a food-on-the-go outlet to ensure all our barbeque cravings are taken care of. With the menu featuring many of their signature dishes including their delicious, barbeque ribs and combo meals, fillet and New York steaks, tasty char grilled chicken and their all-the-rage burgers it's going to be hard to stay away from this one. However, all good things come with a price, and this is no exception. This meal will have you leaving with a slight dent in your pocket, and as for that beautiful beach body you've been working on all summer? Laters!
google avatar

Mike J.

Yelp
I went to Hurricane's Express on the other side as opposed to the restaurant because it was cheaper and I figured I would take it and just eat at the beautiful beach. The girl working at the front was super nice and helpful. It was thanks to her that I stayed and ordered there on my hunt for lunch. I ordered a monkey gland burger that was pretty good (there is no monkey in it, it's just a bbq sauce). The ingredients really are fresh and you can taste it.

Leata K.

Yelp
Never seems to disappoint! When I lived in the eastern suburbs I became a regular diner and take away customer, pork ribs are amazingly delicious, so are the steaks and also alcoholic beverages I've ordered in the past. One of the best places to get ribs from, definitely worth a visit

Mega H.

Yelp
Recomended by my auntie she said the best rest in the area, i tried the fulll portion ribs, calamari, cesar salad, portion is quite big, tasty and fresh, good good, really happy of my choice

Passionate F.

Yelp
Been here quite often before they opened in Darling Harbour. Best place to eat the BBQ Pork Ribs, Caesar Salad and Peri-peri Chicken. Service here is not good. Sometimes they refuse your entry just because you are late by five minutes. If only they know how long it takes to find a parking spot near Bondi Beach. If this happens to you, don't worry, just order takeaway and eat with your friends near Bondi Beach. Better view, no need to tip any one as the extra service is inexistent.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Long wait for tables, but that is because all the food is great. You need to book well in advance if it is for a saturday night. Can't really comment on the rest of the food as I always get a full rack of beef ribs with chips and it is always great. Good selection onf reasonably priced reds to wash it down with as well.
google avatar

Nicky B.

Yelp
Always has been and always will be my favourite bbq place. The service and atmosphere are awesome, complimented by the delicious burgers and ribs!
google avatar

Kayla J.

Yelp
I'm going to go back! I feel like I just picked the wrong night to go here. Ribs were excellent! Drinks were fantastic! But the service wasn't good and the bathroom was dirty. I used the bathroom when I got there and to freshen up before dinner and it was gross and filthy, which happens, I get it, but I had stayed for several hour enjoying drinks and relaxing on the patio with my friends after dinner so when I used it again before I left it was still filthy, which I couldn't understand. Also I decided to go on a very busy weekend at peek hours so the service wasn't the best, I'm not sure if it was the waitress or the restaurants doing but... we didn't get our drinks from the bar until after the food which also wasn't good. When we finally got them everything was delicious. Food was great, I got Beef Ribs which were a huge portion, and sangria was delicious. Great wine selection and dinner selection, decent variety of food but definitely a focus of steak and wine. Both of my friends had steaks and loved them both. Bottom line I was initially impressed but I feel like I really could have been so I would try it again on another less busy night, maybe a little earlier too. I went 6pm on a Saturday in late December
google avatar

Hilary S.

Yelp
woah this place is PACKED! trying to eat here without a reservation? try waiting two hours! takeout is a much better option: the ribs are cheaper, you can go back to where you live, get several packs of beer, and have conversations without screaming over all the background noise. as for the ribs, one word: YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. (hey, it still counts as one word!)
google avatar

Anna P.

Yelp
If you are in the mood for amazing ribs, then of course Hurricanes is the place to go. The only ribs I usually like are my mom's and these are just as good, if not better (sorry mom!). Pork Ribs are big, fall off the bone, sauce is delicious. Get a table outside and enjoy some Bondi people watching (while they likely enjoy Hurricanes sauce-faced people watching)!

Jacqui H.

Yelp
Went to hurricane's last night and very disappointed. Steak was $57 and just few steaks and over cooked meat, no care for presentation or that my meal was delivered 5-7 mins after others at my table. Very overpriced, low quality

William B.

Yelp
Food was fabulous and when you looked around, everyone was enjoying their food just as much. We had pork ribs and the seafood salad. Perfect! Great service too and a lovely atmosphere.
google avatar

Jack D.

Yelp
Express is a mid week life line. The burgers are huge for what you pay. Call ahead because there will always be a 15 min wait in the evening.
google avatar

Kelly F.

Yelp
Great food, can't go wrong with any of the seafood. I had the warm seafood salad which was on this week's specials. Garlic bread is also amazing.

Andre D.

Yelp
Wagyu burger - meh. Meat was pretty dry, bun and fillings extremely average...Fries, not bad.... Very unimpressed for $25...

Qype User (Jia…)

Yelp
Amazing full rack of pork ribs in bbq sauce and steaks. The portion is very generous. Salad is good too. Staffs are friendly and attentive.

J W.

Yelp
Burgers were massive and the salad worked well. The staff were friendly and didn't make a big deal about us being late to the booking. I'll be back next time I'm at Bondi Beach.

Jen C.

Yelp
This place is great for ribs and burgers. The menu is diverse and the customer service is always attentive. I highly recommend ordering the Rib and Steak combo - its great value and you will definitely feel the meat coma afterwards.

Mel P.

Yelp
Lamb ribs were fall off the bone great. The portions were huge and the location was pretty awesome.

JT K.

Yelp
Utterly disappointing burger. Overcooked (they never asked how I wanted it) and the meat tasted stale. Fries/chips were soggy. Sad, as I recall the burgers were decent.

Bethanie K.

Yelp
Still great, haven't been for years but its still pretty awesome. Great ribs just long ques. Can't say I'd come very often but its still got a great atmosphere.

Jess D.

Yelp
Fairly good food and good service, however I felt completely ripped off when I was charged $10 for what I thought was "table water". Apparently it was some sort of special water and the waiters declined to inform my friends and I of this before we asked for it. Very disappointing.
