So noisy. Omg. Music LOUD. Can’t sleep. I guess it’s that time of year. Also creepy clown artwork! Staff are super super friendly though and great! :)

The breakfast/reception area is nicely decorated and the staff is friendly. The breakfast buffet is nice too. The double private room (quite pricey, taxes aren't included online) suffers from the noise from the town and is very hot, even with a fan on (and the small airco machine doesn't really work). It also only had hot water for 2 of the +- 7 showers I took during our stay. We were there for 3 days and the towels were changed every day, but the bedlinen or bathroom mat wasn't. The bathroom wasn't cleaned either (we walked in quite some sand in three days, which accumulated in the shower so it was very obvious). There are much better hostels in Montanita for a similar price.

Booked for two and stayed for three nights as the allure of Montanita was just too much. |Hurvinek is located close to the action but far enough away for us to have no issues with the noise, although if you are super sensitive you will still hear the clubs.|The beach is a 5 minute walk away which was perfect for early morning/evening swim.|The room was cleaned every day and the breakfast was simple but very good. |Staff were always on hand to help and super friendly too.|Only thing for improvement would be the mattress on the bed and the hot water in the shower was temperamental. This didnt bother us though and would definitely recommend to other travellers.

The owner is very friendly and talkative, willing to assist and accomodate you. Rooms are clean and stylishly decorated. Breakfast is very tasty and healthy. It is a Czech-Ecuadorian family run business and a gallery that goes an extra mile by offering tasty Czech beers, Baileys and other drinks, that are otherwise hard to find in Ecuador. Excellent value for money!

Clean room with hot water in the shower. Good price. 40 with taxes in the off season. A block south from the main area of activity. Had a nice small balcony off the room. The balcony had both a wood door and a screen door. (At night with the screen door plenty of air movement for a good temp for sleeping. BUT as one other reviewer mentioned in passing the beds are Very Firm. We liked the place and the breakfast in the morning, but couldn't deal with another night of extra firm mattresses.

This place is ok but not worth the price. We booked four rooms including the biggest suite. Beware, their policy at the desk is different than the one posted online or on the back of their doors. They charge $40 for an extra person. When asked to simply provide an extra room instead of charging twice the price, they claimed they had no rooms, even though I pulled up the reservations page to prove rooms were available. The big room was clean, but had super hard stiff beds and dirty bathrooms, and absolutely no air. The fan was so dusty we could not turn in on. The balconies have no view, unless you are on the top floor. The breakfast and parking is a plus, but the zumba studio and rowdy street make it impossible to sleep as of 6am.

During my stay in this comfy hostel I had good time. Hostel is off main unbridled entertainment, but enough close to clubs and pubs. Room was clean, friendly stuff offering teasty breakfasts. See you again!

Nice place despite small Rooms,Kind staff, small breakfast provided, Not so hot considering how hot is ecuador in february. Enough close to restaurants and beach, you can easily walk to.Will recommend this place. Thanks a Lot
