I stayed here while driving half way across the country in 2 days. I sought out a little mom and pop hotel rather than the huge chains. Nostalgia was THICK - this was exactly the type of place I remember from the 80s while traveling as a youth with my parents. It was perfect. Staff was pleasant. Be aware: since it's an older motel, the rooms are smaller, the walls are thin, the bathrooms are tight. But if you know what you're getting into beforehand, it should be no surprise. Everything is clean and the grounds are very well kept and secure. I would definitely stay here again.

Google
What a great little place! Very easy in the wallet (king bed was $55; with tax it was $65). Rooms are amazingly clean. Bathroom was spotless. Property is very quaint and very well cared for. Gentleman in the office was very pleasant, and offered us the hospitality of showing us to our room. Great little coffee shop (Espresso Shop) about four blocks to the east.

Google
This motel is fabulous! My husband and I have been utilizing this motel for several years now. It is so comfortable, clean, and highly affordable. The owners and staff are very friendly and accommodating. We recommend this motel to anyone we know who speaks of staying in the North Platte area! We also love all the work the owners do to keep their rooms updated and extremely clean. We admire their beautiful landscaping as well. Highly recommend!

Google
This was our 4th time staying here April 2nd-5th. We always enjoy our stay with them. If you like supporting small businesses this is the one . It's family owned and they are so very nice. Beds are comfy, has Roku instead of cable, dorm size refrigerator and a microwave. Nice quiet neighborhood and the grounds are very well kept. Within walking distance of restaurants, gas stations, liquor store, and grocery store. This will always be our go to place when planning a trip to North Platte.

Google
Room was clean and comfortable bed, sorry it didn’t have hair dryer in the room. They could have better recommendations for dinner locations. Even if they don’t eat out they should know their town . I highly suggest they recommend El Mojito restaurant.

Google
I loved it. A quiet, cozy little motel room in the middle of town. Right across from the gas station, clean, comfortable and probably the best per dollar value you can get in 2025. The staff was kind, and hard working; they were up at sunrise clearing snow from the walkways and parking areas. I wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

Google
My family stayed here for one night on the way West. We got the apartment, which was very clean and spacious. This was a great place to spend the night. The people who worked there were also very friendly and kind!

Google
We loved staying here. Everything was great quality and in such a great location, all the good downtown stores were in walking distance. The fridge and microwave are big and good, the beds and sheets are clean and comfortable. Plus, it's family owned and local, which feels much better on my wallet than a big hotel corporation! Owners are very friendly, courtyard is beautiful, and overall GREAT experience. Will be staying here again for sure. Very homey environment. Thick walls so you don't hear any neighbors or walking in hallways (outdoor entries to the courtyard). VERY CLEAN AND NO SMELLS!!!!!!!!

Yelp
Excellent little family run motel. Rooms were clean, cheap, and comfortable. A few things to note: They are a little strict on their check-in times. The manager will stay up past 11 but if you get in super late, you're essentially forcing him to stay up. This makes it a little tricky if you're driving long distances and need a place to crash really late at night. I would recommend trying to get there before 11 if at all possible. Most other motels I've stayed at offer some kind of online check-in and are able to leave the key in the room to accommodate late arrivals. Perhaps they could institute a late check in procedure for those who can't make it by 11. Having that said the guy who checked me in was cool about my late arrival and super friendly. Second thing: as other reviewers have mentioned, they don't have individual temperature controls for the rooms. It's actually nice because it's set to be very cool for sleeping and you also aren't woken up all night from a loud wall mounted a/c like most other motels of this caliber. But don't be surprised if it's not set to your desired temperature and you can't find the thermostat. Also the beds are very plush so if you're a fan of a more supportive mattress, you may not like the bed. I found it to be a little too plush the first night but very comfortable the second night. Grounds are beautiful and you can tell this motel is well taken care of and maintained. One of the few motels left that still charge a reasonable price for a clean, comfortable room. They also offer free water as well as snacks in the lobby. Despite its quirks, I still rate it 5 stars. I've stayed here 3 times now and I think it's by far the best option in western Nebraska for the price.

Yelp
I regularly stop at North Platte for the night when I'm traveling down I-80, so I couldn't help but notice the string of 5-star reviews that Husker Inn has been getting. I've now visited twice. Rather than rehash what the other reviews have been saying, I'll cover the questions I had when I visited. Is it easy to get to? Yes. 4th is the main east-west street through town. It's only an extra 2-3 minutes from the Interstate. With such low prices, what am I giving up? Mainly a bit of floor space. How small are the rooms? When I made my reservation, I asked for the King room and described what I'd need (a comfortable chair to read in, and a desk to work at). And that's exactly what I got. The room was small, but not cramped. There wasn't a closet, but there were plenty of hooks. How is the customer service? This is a family run hotel, so I think it's reasonable to expect that someone won't always be in the office. They like to stay in touch, so someone can be at the desk when you arrive. Is it really that clean? Yes. Spotless. In my opinion, this place is much cleaner than even the brand-new hotels going up near the interstate. How safe is it? The room door had a locking knob and a deadbolt. You can usually park within sight of the room. They have a very good security camera system. Bottom line is that I felt as safe as at any other hotel in town. Are the muffins really that good? They didn't appear homemade, but they were fresh and tasted great.

Yelp
Charming, welcoming and most importantly a comfortable bed! We enjoyed the simple, yet generous "to-go" style breakfast and the pride of ownership was evident. Price perspective: we paid $90ish for a very clean room with a king bed.

Grace S.

Yelp
Very nice. Simple old motel. Very nice No cable. It does have tv you can program. Parking is great

Yelp
We arrived at 2:30 pm on Saturday & the office door was locked. When they opened the door, they said check-in is 3 pm - 11 pm. We said we just arrived in town & was wondering if the rooms were ready. They were. Reserved 4 rooms months in advance - gave them my credit card number. They charged the 4 rooms to my card on Thursday. Arrived on Saturday for check-in and they would not check us in without presenting the physical card - which I did not have on me - since the rooms were already charged on Thursday. I could show them a copy of the card's last 4 digits on my Apple Pay. I could show them the charge on my online credit card account but they had to have THE CARD. Now the 4 couples are standing in front of them so we asked if each room could be charged to their individual cards - NOPE. I had to give them another credit card so they could charge four rooms to it. They refunded the 4 rooms to the original card. The second charge has gone through - waiting on the refund. Not the way I wanted to start our one night stay for Nebraskaland Days with our friends.

Yelp
Very clean, roomy and very friendly staff. Can't say anything negative about this place. Stayed here twice and both experiences were awesome.

Yelp
Booked this gem of a hotel based on all the yelp reviews and they were 100% true! Clean, comfortable room and the cutest out door areas made this a perfect stop on our way west. Convenient to downtown restaurants, great homemade muffins for breakfast, microwave and fridge in the room. Will definitely stay here again!

Yelp
Great experience! Room was clean and well maintained. Service was very friendly. Very reasonably priced too. I would definitely stay again.

Yelp
Room was really clean, beds were comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. My grandparents, my sister and I stayed here on the first night of our Pennsylvania road trip.

Yelp
OMG. Beautiful nights rest. Great customer service. Fresh fruits, pastries, and coffee for breakfast. Super clean in and out. Cute whimsical decor. I don't smoke but there are comfy smoking areas outside:-) also saw a BBQ grill. Hope all our hotel hunts go like this.

Yelp
Best little roadside inn I've ever stayed at. Very clean, welcoming, and up to date. Great price and lovely staff. 10/10 recommend! Will definitely stay again!

Yelp
Easy (and kind!) check in for my boyfriend and I. Can't speak on the location too much since we really just came for a good nights sleep to hit the road again. Got a king size room through booking.com for $47 and was super delighted to see how CLEAN it was. Honestly. These carpets are spotless, the sheets were brand new, the remotes looked never used it was awesome. Also looks like they just redid their bathrooms and it was perfect. Checkin: free muffins, score! We called ahead to let them know we'd be coming in past 11 PM (like 11:10). Felt horrible we were past their window of operation but the guy was super nice on the phone and very great in person. Note: keep your car license handy for check in! Room: clean and wonderful had neat artwork. Cannot change thermostat but can turn on the overhead fan with a forceful tug on the strings. Plenty of light (like lightbulbs) and very quiet. Seriously, like super clean. Bathroom: no (that I could find) additional toilet paper. Was not at all an issue but I guess if you're having one of those nights better ask the front desk for more ;) water pressure was great and the temperature of both the sink and the shower was a great range. Sink water drinkable (I hope !). Only 'weird' thing is that the light switch was outside of the bathroom door. Parking lot (safety): not many lights in the parking lot itself but it's small so you can see your vehicle from basically any room. Lots of cameras in the area, not that a camera would stop a determined masked carjacker but made us feel a lot better. Check out: easy easy. If you need to leave before 8AM just lock up the door and leave the key in the office otherwise they're there to set you on your way (with more free muffins!) Should you stay???: yes yes yes it's a shame I never come to Nebraska but if I find myself here again I'll be back.

Yelp
My fiance and I stayed here lastnight. It's a gem! He did his research before booking and saw nothing but good reviews! After spending 12 hours in the car, this was a great place to stop and get rest. The bed was incredibly comfortable! The staff at check in was really helpful and kind, he was a younger fellow. My fiance said there were homemade muffins in the office! The only thing was our room got warm during the night and we couldn't control the air.

Lucky E.

Yelp
The place is clean and has the basics, but the rooms are so cheap because they're so dinky! This was the smallest hotel/motel room in which I'd ever stayed. With such a small amount of space available....yes, as you guessed, there's hardly any counter space to put your stuff - like in the bathroom for example. Bring your own coffee and portable camp stove so you don't have to mess around looking for good coffee in the morning. The owners are nice, polite and the grounds around the property are well maintained.

Yelp
This place is so sweet. Rooms are so comfy and Covid Clean!! The staff is so helpful and kind. This is what America is about humanity, kindness from businesses that care. It shows. Thank you!

Yelp
Nice quiet cozy place. Good service. I would definitely stay there again. Places to eat are not far. Good BBQ place a few blocks down the road!

Yelp
A wonderful little motel in a nice quiet part of town walkable to historic district. Clean and very comfortable with very welcoming staff. A definite place we would stay again should we come through North Platte.we found this lovely place on recommendation from Chamber of Commerce.

Yelp
I travel widely throughout the US by car, especially in the intermountain region. I'm a fan of good clean budget motels and the Husker Inn is one of the best of that category that I've come across in many years. I've stayed at the Husker Inn in North Platte 2 or 3 times since 2021. It is clean, cheap and convenient to I80. It's a classic small mom and pop motor court type motel like you might remember from 1970. But it's well managed and maintained. During the height of the pandemic I also liked that most/all the rooms have individual entry doors, so you can avoid common spaces for the most part. I remember eating some nice breakfast muffins that were available for free in the office.

Yelp
Excellent find after Freeway chains were either full or charging $139 plus. Inexpensive. Meticulously clean. Great bed, tv, shower and Wi-Fi. Central Air plus ceiling fan was perfect. Quiet. Owners have run the business for decades and the outside has a fountain, two lovely sitting areas with comfortable chairs and gliding furniture as well as detailed landscaping and interesting art pieces. A model for motel management everywhere. This nostalgic property was a delight. (Just make sure that you don't stay in the back wing of "extended stay/monthly worker units" so call in advance. The primary units are the best travel deal I have found in 40 years of cross country travel).

Yelp
We had a beautiful room! Clean and nicely furnished. The host Linda was so helpful! She told us of things to do, places to eat. She also gave us some homemade treats. All around a great experience!
google avatar

Yelp
I passed up several hotels right off I-80 and made the short trip into town for this place. What a gem. Clean. Great value. Linda held our room an hour past the original check-in time. Then offered homemade quiche, fruit and rolls. Free wi-fi. Fresh smelling towels/linens and very comfy beds. Linda also made good on a couple requests that I thought was beyond the call of good customer service. Excellent experience.

Yelp
I need to start this review by saying I am a hotel snob. I normally stay in very very nice hotels all across the globe. This motel is very good. While driving to SD for a cycling trip I stopped in North Platte overnight. The chain hotels had poor reviews, so I looked at The Husker Inn. The outside is very charming and I decided to give it a try based on reviews. Glad I did! Very inexpensive and the room was spotless. I'll echo the other reviews on the owner. She was super sweet, giving me homemade banana nut bread and fruit when I checked in. Even offering me dinner because she made too much soup for her family. Who does that anymore? Very very nice. The room was cleverly clean, bed was super comfy, TV was new. Try it out.

Yelp
Zen. The owners/caretakers go to great detail to run and operate this Inn! There were various homemade muffins, cookies, coffee, or tea out for guests in the main lobby. The muffins and cookies were stocked and free of charge, even last night when I first arrived (when I took a few back to my room with me). Extremely fair price for the service and amenities offered! There's even a cute little waterfall/fountain and a variety of plants near the front. All the rooms have a comfy chair outside of them, and many have an outdoor coffee table. I LOVED the pillows! The most comfortable pillow I've used in ages was last night, here. I need to go look at the label, so I can get one for myself at home.. The room was awesome as well. Mini fridge, microwave, and a decent flat screen. So good of a sleep, I slept in late and had to stay an extra day.
google avatar

Erin L.

Yelp
The owner is so sweet! I love chatting with her when we come. The room is not large but is nice and clean. The owner always has some fresh baked goods that she shares with us. The rooms are reasonably priced. My kids love all of the garden art she has our in front of the rooms.

Yelp
We read the other reviews and just had to try this place. Linda greeted us warmly and the check in process was simple and sweet. After camping the previous night, the King size bed was palatial and oh sooooooo comfortable! The room was a bit small but very clean and pleasant. It had everything you might need; TV, internet, refrigerator, roomy dresser, roomy bathroom, comfy chair and can I say it again ...that awesome king size bed! The outside areas were even more enjoyable with lovely flowerbeds, cute statuary, quaint signs and sayings and a fountain with the sound of a babbling brook. All of this was outshined by the hospitality and joy of our hostess. In the morning we were treated to coffee, homemade breakfast sandwiches and MORE! We had a great conversation with Linda and lots of laughs. She truly does treat you like family - maybe even better. If you're looking for luxury...this may not be your cup of tea. But, if you want comfortable, clean and welcoming...you need to visit Husker Inn.

Teresa A.

Yelp
I have stayed at the Husker Inn many times while traveling through Nebraska, and have been pleased. However, I am giving a one star review because of the recent customer service. I booked a room and asked about the cancellation policy. I was told it was 24 hours before check-in. We are experiencing a snowstorm and cannot depart on the day we had planned, but when I called to cancel our room with more than 24 hours notice of check-in time I was refused a refund. I'm doubly disappointed given that I I am a loyal patron of this establishment. Very surprised at this poor level of customer service and unfortunately, will not stay there again.

Tara O.

Yelp
I hate leaving reviews only because perfect gems like this are found and harder to book. I come to NE often. Hotel/motel prices are getting crazy: but this place! It was amazing! Husker Inn was a great place to stay. Such a clean place! Owners were friendly and very inviting! We will call this our 2nd home when we come out to North Platte which is often!
google avatar

Richard R.

Yelp
Nice place, and as has been noted the owner takes great pride in her place and service. The room was very dated, but clean and comfortable. Husker Inn met all of my short term overnight needs on a road trip where I just needed a place to crash. I probably wouldn't want to stay there for a week, but there seemed to be semi-permanent residents.

Chris A.

Yelp
It isn't often that someplace exceeds the reviews. We will be back again! We were looking for a place on yelp to stay the night. Husker Inn had 5 stars, and is worth every one! It is less expensive than any chain, and they greeted us at 9:30 pm with homemade beef pot pie, carrot cake, pastry, tea and fresh fruit. It is a clean, charming, mom & pop motel reminiscent of Route 66 in it's hey day.
google avatar

Tish C.

Yelp
This is a "reminds me of home" type of place. Linda is great!! Turns out she is best friends with Ms. Francis in Colorado Springs that owns the Stagecoach where I stayed for years. Linda runs the same type of place. Very clean comfortable n welcoming. I'm still I shock that they know each other and I have had the pleasure to meet them both.
google avatar

Larry B.

Yelp
The Husker is special. It's about a mile or so off I-80 which would make it easy to miss and that would be a shame. It's an immaculate, colorful little model of a roadside motel of the 60's. The owner "Linda" welcomed us with delicious treats, did everything to be sure our stay was pleasant and sent us off with more treats the morning of our departure. Our room was small, but clean and comfortable with king bed, wireless access and a large HDTV. If you stay here, it would be wise to book well ahead, because the low nightly rate plus all the amenities Linda provides makes Husker Inn the best deal in North Platte.

Tricia L M.

Yelp
This small motel is spotless. Clean clean clean-----covid clean nice folks run this motel. they have sweet snacks and fruit out for the customers to enjoy. Do not hesitate. And did I mention its cute cute cute.
google avatar

Kelly R.

Yelp
This is the cleanest and most pleasant little motel you can possibly imagine! The owner offers fresh homemade baked goods to every guest and asked us if we wanted hot tea. The grounds and rooms are so clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. Don't hesitate to book a room here. If I ever find myself in North Platte , Nebraska again I sure won't!

Amanda H.

Yelp
This place was a great motel and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stop for the night! We called to make the reservation in the early afternoon and told them we would be getting in late. They were very nice over the phone and called us later that night to get a more accurate time of arrival and wish us safe travels. The person that checked us in (Mr. Young) was very nice and walked us to our room. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The motel is cute looking on the outside with well kept plants! We checked out in the morning and got complimentary coffee and homemade muffins! Overall loved our stay.

Yelp
Husker Inn gave me the warmest reception I've ever had at a hotel, and I've stayed at some nice, five star hotels over the years. Linda, the front desk attendant, was fantastic, she gave me some soup, amazing peaches, and an amazing shake for breakfast. The room was clean, everything was in order. WORTH THE EXTRA FEW MILES UP THE ROAD. And very affordable too.
google avatar

Michelle W.

Yelp
If you go through north Platte, you have to stay here. So quite, so cute and so affordable. Love the owners, they gave us fresh fruit and muffins, just wonderful people. Rooms are cozy and quite something you want after driving for 8 hours. Hugh king bed that was very comfortable and loved the recliner. Close to restaurant and grocery store. I can't say enough about this little motel I will suggest it to anyone who comes this way!

Diana H.

Yelp
Came to stay for a quick night from Denver to take the NCLEX. This place was cute and very clean. The desk staff was nice, there was snacks and water in the office, and the grounds were well kept with lots of flowers.
google avatar

Ann C.

Yelp
Wow. This was an amazing and unexpected discovery. Prior reviews led us to call, even tho there was no specific mention of being pet friendly. Understandably cautious, they asked for a $100 refundable deposit for our two dogs. For a very reasonable price everything is substantial and obviously lovingly maintained. The room was very small for two queen beds but they were firm and very comfortable. Great pillows, substantial crisp sheets, and big thick towels. Fridge and microwave and large Sony flat screen TV. You know you are in a solid and authentic brick structure with well-tended grounds and lovely gardens. Very gracious hosts who clearly are devoted to providing a quality experience for their guests. They sent us on our way with coffee, freshly-baked pastries and a juicy peach.

Yelp
I wish I could put more stars . My wife made reservations for 14 Oct . We're driving back home from Aspen from Our daughters wedding . We hit snow all the way to Denver . Glad she made the reservations a couple days prior. Arrived at the Husker around 10 . Linda was there. She greeted us , & offered us tea. We just wanted to crash to leave early Monday morning to Chicago. Linda was so nice , she gave us homemade apple bread & cookies for our overnight stay. Not only that she gave us homemade chicken noodle soup. Very good indeed. Room was very clean , beds were great . The grounds were very well kept. I wish we had a chance to see them when it was light out. Seeing past reviews we weren't the only people who were welcome, we wish her nothing but success. The Husker truly is a gem,Thank you Linda for a great stay.

Yelp
What a treat, a two room suite, clean, well appointed. My son and I were greeted warmly and personally, then shown to our room, so nice!

Yelp
Such a nice place. Great atmosphere and wonderful folks. The hotel grounds are well kept. It's a great-value stay. A great big bed, tv, mini fridge and microwave, bath/shower and a comfy porch with a chair.

Yelp
Traveling cross country with a buddy. Needed two simple rooms for the night. Spotted this on Yelp and called from the road two hours out and made a reservation. Arrived as planned and the rooms were ready as promised. Good thing we called. They were sold out even on a Tuesday. A small number of rooms but still a good sign. Linda, the owner was super nice and sent us off to our rooms with a generous batch of homemade cookies. Yum. The rooms were small but nicely appointed and very clean. Had everything needed for a comfortable sleep before getting back on the road in the morning. Only complaint is that the rooms were very warm. They have centrally controlled heating and we could not adjust it. But for the very low price we were completely satisfied.

Yelp
I'm traveling from Roseburg, Oregon to Rome Georgia. I seek motels around 4:30 to 5:30 as I travel. I use Yelp for help and respect the reviews especially when there are more than a few. The Husker Inn was what I was looking for. Very reasonable price, clean, good service. That was the impression from Yelp. MapQuest got me there quicker than a cabby. An older building but very well kept and with attractive landscaping. Nice. When I walked into the office there was non one there. I started to say hello when Bill walked out, apologetically by gesture as his mouth was full and busy, preparing to greet me. After, he leaned back on his feet and asked Linda whether he should give me 34 or 35. Linda and Bill are gems! Amazing, kind, genuine, folks. The Husker Inn is a very friendly and a very happy fate for those like me traveling alone. If ever I'm back this way I will hope that Bill and Linda are still loving this place!
google avatar

Christy M.

Yelp
The owner, Linda at The Husker Inn is absolutely delightful! The rooms are not fancy, but they have what you need. She met us at the door with a cup of ginger tea and brownies.

Yelp
A very well-kept, charming motel that evokes the bygone days of "motor courts". Great rates.
google avatar

Daniel W.

Yelp
We enjoyed staying here the owner was fantastic. Inexpensive, very clean, and couldn't be more helpful with any of your needs.
google avatar

Michele B.

Yelp
This is by far the loveliest (and cheapest!) little motel I've ever had the pleasure of encountering. Cloud-like mattress. Quaint, colorful landscaping. Modern updates. Painstakingly clean. Thoughtful and kind host. I could go on and on. Five+++ stars!!
google avatar

Kenneth K.

Yelp
Just checked in, the owner is great. What a great hostess! She greeted us with a delightful snack and ushered to an exceptionally clean, tasteful room. Flowers abound with a friendly deck and fountain. The grounds and rooms are immaculate. Cable TV and free in-room wifi are nice perks. And the price is VERY reasonable as well. We already plan to stay here on our next trip west in September.

Yelp
This motel was awesome. Great atmosphere. While a bit dated, exceptionally clean and the beds were amazingly comfortable. I would highly recommend this motel.
