Yelp
There is absolutely nothing I didn't love about this resort; (except the price.....but you get what you pay for!). The location is awesome; right on the beach and there are not many other hotels around so we noticed that the beach doesn't get too crowded! The staff is super courteous; from the helpful girls at the front desk to the friendly cleaning crew who always welcomed us and told us to "have a blessed day." Even the valet attendants were always eager to help out loading and unloading our cars.
The decor is simply gorgeous....very beachy and relaxing. (Driftwood lamps & wall decor, sand sculpture welcome sign, incredible glass sailfish sculpture, and zen wall garden in the lobby) The rooms are spacious, clean, & cozy. The shower amenities are upscale, (Nest,) and there are 2 complimentary comfy bathrobes in the closet to use during your stay. They had a big flat screen TV in the room and a convenient mini-fridge as well. They also have a "jogging station" with water bottles, towels and maps of the area by the entrance and they have an area on each floor where guests can help themselves to bottled water & pre-filled bags of ice 24/7. And if that's not enough, they have baskets of fresh fruit, (oranges snd bananas,) out daily and fresh chocolate chip cookies in the late afternoon! Yummy!
Some hotels charge a resort fee and you think..."what for?" Here the resort amenities are abundant. In addition to the water & snacks; they have 2 beautiful pools. One is kind of small and has limited lounge chairs, a bar, and great ocean views. The bigger pool has lots and lots of lounge chairs, plus umbrellas, couches, fire pits, a hot tub, and a giant Connect Four type game. There is also an adjacent covered bar and dining area at the large pool. If you prefer the beach to the pool; it's just a few steps to the beautiful well-maintained beach where you can get complimentary lounge chairs, umbrellas, etc. Another nice touch is 2 little bug spray stations so you don't have to worry about getting stung by mosquitoes or bitten by sand fleas if you are venturing outdoors.
There is a nicely equipped gym that is open 24/7 for guests. They had several nice cardio machines, (treadmills, stationary bikes, ellipticals,) plus mats, free weights, exercise balls, etc. The restaurant, Drift, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and also has a full bar. I had lunch there one day and the food and service were both outstanding! They do have a spa on the premises, but no one in our party stopped in during this stay.
Hutchinson Resort and Spa is part of the newly branded Opal Hotels Group. They definitely strive for attention to details and seem to be doing it right! I would highly recommend staying at this resort and I can't wait to visit again soon!
