Hutong Restaurant, Shangri-La Ulaanbaatar

The food is superb. The service is so so. The space is really nice. All the other tables ordered the whole duck, which looked amazing! But we were only two people so we didn’t want so much food.

The staff didn't speak English ! There is no service at all, wardrobe and hangers included. Аpparently, the staff thinks that since they are located in an expensive hotel, the clients already owe them!!) The rating indicated on Google map does not correspond at all. Apparently paid))) I do not recommend this restaurant. Don't make mistakes!))

My family went during Lunar New Year for 4 a table and ordered Whole Duck set . Enjoyed with stunning Atmosphere and Manager’s services He is absolutely helpful what we needed . But the Beijing Duck was not really good enough unfortunately However The other menus pretty good . Too greasy . Not Crispy at all we have never had like this Roasted Duck .

Didn’t seem like a kid-friendly place. One of the service staff was rude to my toddler, even touched him. I asked him why he touched my kid. He said that I should look after my child which was exactly what I was doing at the time. Didn’t enjoy my time there. Although the food was interesting and delicate etc but the service was kinda slow. Maybe they need more training, didn’t see any manager.

Came for the Roasted Duck and loved it. My friends and I ordered the Roasted Duck set which included three small appetizers, a whole roasted duck with assorted garnishes, a plate of fried rice, a plate of kungpao chicken, and additional lamb salad (I believe). The set also comes with duck bone soup where they use the carved carcasses to bring richness to the soup. The set finishes with a fruit platter. I think the best part about the set was the duck bone soup; so rich and delicious. The waiter was very prompt and helpful. I will definitely check Hutong out again for other menu items!

The food is about the same quality as you would get from a food court Chinese place but in a fancy atmosphere. Service is the worst. Food took about an hour to come out then staggered after that. I dont know whats happening in the kitchen but its obvious its totally mismanaged. Servers will not follow up with you to see if you need more drinks. Saw two other tables have to get up and find their servers. The best place I ate in Ulaanbaatar was Bull. Go there instead. I will probably get a reply from management saying this feedback will help them improve. Its all for show. Others have complained and they said the same thing and havent improved. Shows they have zero interest to improve.

We celebrated my daughter’s birthday here today. To say I was satisfied would be an understatement. The food was delicious and very tasty. We ordered the peking duck which I found very good. The egg yolk fried chicken was savory and perfectly crisp. All dishes were exemplary. The staff is quick and attentive to serve. I especially commend the manager’s diligence and professionalism in providing impeccable service. Would definitely dine again in the near future for another family gathering.

We arrived at 14:20 and they told us kitchen is closed despite their 15:00 closing time.
