Huus Hotel, Gstaad, Swiss Alps - Explore & Book

"Gstaad is best known for traditional 5-star palaces, but Huus Hotel is something quite different. Designed by a Swede, it oozes laid-back Scandinavian charm from industrial-chic interiors. In the lounge, giant orange sofas sit alongside leather pouffes, statement lights, hand-picked coffee-table books and even the odd guitar hanging from the wall. The 136 bedrooms are similarly cool, with smokey-blue walls, toffee-brown cushions and copper lamps. It all combines to create a very stylish mountain retreat. The hotel attracts an all-encompassing crowd, from couples to families (there are dedicated play zones and family rooms); dogs are welcome, too. Skiing is the main attraction, with hundreds of kilometres of all-level pistes on the doorstep, but folk also come for other winter and summer activities in the surrounding Bernese Oberland, many of which are included in the rates. After a day of outdoor adventure, return for some pampering in the spa, a soak in the indoor pool, sophisticated food in the twinkling à la carte restaurant, or burgers and cocktails in the bar, all accompanied by sweeping mountain views. This gorgeous place has something for all tastes. Highs The lounge is a lovely buzzy hub, with its double height bar, bright orange sofas, bauble lamps and occasional live musicA daily activity is included in the rates - guided skiing, snowshoe walks and sledging in winter; hiking, mountain biking and more in summerLots of dining options: gourmet fare, informal buffets and tapas, bar food, even a fondue chalet in the groundsGreat for families, with connecting rooms and split-level 'gallery' rooms, an on-site kids club, and free ski sessions (including tuition) for younger kidsAn excellent spa with an indoor pool, an aromatic sauna, an ice fountain, a herbal steam bath and massages Lows It's larger than most i-escape hotels, but that doesn't mean it's short on characterGstaad is quite low, so it's not one of the most snow-sure ski resortsRestaurant service can be a little slow at busy timesBe prepared for DJ music and party vibes in the bar on Friday and Saturday evenings (until 11pm)" - Belinda Archer

Huus Gstaad (Gstaad, Swiss Alps) 6 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"With 250 kilometers of ski runs nearby, revelatory views of the Bernese Alps, and a renowned tradition of après-ski revelry, Gstaad is firmly entrenched in the upper echelons of Swiss ski culture. In fact, so rarefied are Gstaad’s high-end hotels, it’s possible to behave as if skiing is beside the point. Not at HUUS Gstaad, thankfully. This one is for the adventurers, slope-carvers, nature geeks, and wanderers-at-large, the alpinists who earn their good night’s sleep the good old-fashioned way." - Tablet Hotels

We had the lovelies time staying in this lovely hotel. The staff was friendly and the room was beautifully decorated with all the details and felt really cozy like staying at home away from home not to mention the stunning view opening from the balcony. Also evening vibe in the lounge/living room area was perfect for after ski with good drinks and tasty sushi! The à la carte restaurant was also really good. Highly recommend and can’t wait to stay again at HUUS!

Posh place with a nice interior ambiance & exterior view! Well-furnished bar, most certainly packed during high season. Great pit stop when on the Grand Tour of Switzerland. 🇨🇭🚗 🛤️🚶

Great hotel BUT… Nice lobby, great spa and pool. Nice view, rooms decent. Then game room is a delightful bonus. BUT, do not go to the fondue restaurant. I have had fondue over 50 times. This was the worst. Overpriced and never seen such small portions. Not only the cheese but even the bread and potatoes and they charge extra as you will surely run out quickly. This would have been a near perfect score, but this gave me a bad feeling.

My experience at the Huus bar was extremely disappointing. Despite ordering three coffees with two portions of tiramisu, we had to wait a whopping 45 minutes before the coffees arrived, while the tiramisu was never served. Despite the waiter's apologies for the delay, the long wait time was unacceptable. In the end, exhausted from waiting, we decided to leave the table, paying only for the coffees. I hope that Huus can take steps to improve their service and ensure greater efficiency and courtesy towards their customers.

Our stay at HUUS Gstaad was unparalleled. For nearly two weeks, the impeccable service and cozy yet luxurious atmosphere made it difficult to leave. Unlike other properties in the area, HUUS Gstaad provides top-notch hospitality without any pretense. The staff's genuine care and attention to detail made us feel truly at home. From the stunning rooms to the exquisite food and serene environment, everything was simply the best. HUUS Gstaad isn't just a hotel; it's a retreat that stands out as the pinnacle of Swiss hospitality.

It was such an incredible experience from the very moment we stepped inside through that main door until the moment we bid our farewells. The welcome we received was so warm, so incredibly special and unlike anything we've ever experienced before. The atmosphere in the lobby was just so lively and vibrant, and the way we interacted with the clients was so casual, so refreshing, and so much fun.

Absolutely stunning place. The only downside was that I was here for a conference and despite touring the place, didn't get to try the pool, spa and the awesome infrastructure (bike, backpack and other equipment loan, guided walks, etc). The setting is absolutely stunning and everything from the cool lobby bar area to the awesome kids lounge is top notch. I'm making plans to come back with the family: summer or winter, it looks like the perfect place for a break.

Stayed as a family (baby 4months) for 3 nights. We‘ve travelled to many countries and have visited many higher end hotels. We can not recommend staying at this hotel. Heres why:||Pros:|-clean stylish interior|-big fancy rooms |-big pool with playtools for kids|-food tasty and high quality in restaurant|-nice view of the mountain||Cons:|-requested a babybed, was not in room|-requested a quiet room because of the baby, received the first room on the first floor next to the lobby(see below)|-music in breakfast room is rock/pop on a fairly loud level, originating from a portugese radio station. Why ANYONE would want to listen to that kind of music during breakfast remained unclear.|-music in the lobby is a constant rock/dance party starting at 0700 to >2300. The volume makes a conversation during dinner impossible and is absolutely terrible if traveling with a baby or kids|-music on our last evening (thursday) was a DJ from 1800-2300 - even louder than the already loud music on a club level scale, we could hear and feel every beat in our room until 2300… absolutley inappropriate!|-service personel doesnt speak german, mostly english. We were not asked how our stay was once.||Conclusion: The hotel is too loud and too much party if travelling with baby/kids. The hotel is too kid oriented (pool, play rooms etc) if travelling as adults only. The sound/noise amplitude of the DJ is absolutely inappropriate for a hotel. Guest wishes are not taken into account. Many small things are missing to make this hotel anywhere near competitive to other higher end hotels.

Yelp
Huus Gstaad talks a big game and it made us excited to stay for three nights for months. Free daily activities? A game room? Bikes? There was so much to look forward to. Did it live up to the hype? Kind of. Upon check in, we were informed that there's one free activity included a day that's decided beforehand. You must sign up the day prior by 15.00. Checking in around 16.00 on Monday and leaving Tuesday, we could only sign up for a Wednesday activity. The hotel itself is large with a lobby, bar, overpriced restaurants, a game area, kids stations, a spa, pool, and other activities. The winning elements of the trip were the free mountain bike rentals, the pool, spa area, and views. Breakfast included is really good and plenty of options, including gluten free options. The rooms were nice with closet space, a balcony, drinking water, etc. A few things to note: 1) There's no AC and the rooms get hot. There's also only a heavy blanket on the bed and no sheets to use as a cover. 2) The game room is in disrepair with half of the games not working it in poor condition. 3) Staff aren't very friendly. They are helpful just cold.

Yelp
This Hotel has cool modern vibe. This traditional resort style amenities, saunas , steam rooms. Hotel will pick you up at the train stop which is very close. The hotel has its own ski rental shop in the basement which is great.

Yelp
This Starwood hotel group boutique hotel is an absolute delight to stay at. The level of design detail and the high quality throughout the hotel make for a thoroughly wonderful experience. Not only were the aesthetics tastefully chosen, the entire experience was complemented by great food at the multiple restaurants on site and the variety of activities and services offered. It makes for a perfect romantic couples stay as well as a family vacation given the good variety of offerings for the kids. The charming town of Saanen is an invigorating 15 minute walk or a complimentary 5 minute shuttle ride away.
