Harbor Springs, Michigan Is the Best Small U.S. Town for a Lake Vacation in 2024

"An evolved bazaar-turned-curated boutique, this shop—originating in the late 1970s—focuses on craftsmanship and authentic global heirlooms rather than labels. Its inventory includes Peruvian hand-knit sweaters, hand-loomed pillows from Mexico, one-of-a-kind contemporary Greek ceramics, hand-carved walnut bowls salvaged from local trees and high-end leather saddle chairs by a Belgian designer; the owner emphasizes quality and artisanal provenance." - Leilani Marie Labong Leilani Marie Labong Leilani Marie Labong is a San Francisco-based journalist who focuses on food, design, and travel. A well-curated collection of clothing, gifts and home items. We always have fun going in when we are in town. They have lots of beautiful pieces. We always wish we could buy about half the store every time we go in. I highly recommend stopping in if you are in town.

Yelp
After cruising through both halves of this story, I thought I had stumbled into the reification of Stephen King's Needful Things. It's as though this store is the curator of the museum of my life. They have adorable bensimon sneakers ($55--many colors), Annick Goutal perfumes, phyto hair products, tocca bath products, james perse shirts, Hache clothing, and gorgeous home items. There is a sale rack in the garden out back. Instant love affair. Huzza was about a 2 hour drive from my family's lakehouse, but the experience I had at this store was completely worth the price of admission.
