Great place to visit in the summer! Interesting unique interior, nice surroundings- garden and a small beach down the hill, interesting history of the place. Definitely worth coming here at least once! Free entrance with the museum card. Better come by bike because the car parking is usually full

Visited the manore together with a Ukrainian guide who gave us a nice excursion into the life and world of three renowned architects and their families who lived there. Now the museum is open only in the part of Saarinen premises. The entrance fee into the museum is 10-15 euros. The territory around is wonderful. There is a open air cafe open from June there. Definitely worth visiting.

Fantastic weather to sit down and relax with a nice hot cup of coffee and pastry and enjoy the sun and peace at the cafeteria terrace followed by a visit to the museum and a pleasant walk around the gardens and then through the countryside down to the beach, the whole experience was truly amazing.

A marvelous place that brings visitors serenity. We strolled through the forest and alongside the lake whole afternoon, enjoying summer sunshine to the fullest. - The museum is open from Wednesday to Sunday during summertime.

Very nice mansion complex and museum for a day tour near Helsinki. Though I do not have much knowledge of architecture, I still managed to enjoy the well-designed studio home and the amazing view. ”Work is the key to creative growth of the mind.” Btw, it is covered by the Museum Card.

In a city full of neoclassic, minimalistic and functional design, this building still stands out as one of the best examples of Finnish architecture. The view over the lake is glorious at almost any time of the year. It is well maintained and organized.

Worth the visit, whether you are into nature or architecture. The building is astonishingly beautiful. You can also get to the lakeside quickly by just walking. There is a small beach there too.

Alas, I forgot my phone on this day's tour. So, my mother's pics will need to do. They're pretty good. So, this site is/was the studio and estate of Eliel Saarinen, father of Eero Saarinen. The father was an architect, they lived here en famille, until they moved to the US. Eero, the son would go on to design the TWA terminal at JFK, and the St. Louis Arch among other things. Plus, the family spent some time in Michigan at Cranbrook. The Cranbrook grads that I know are super talented, so I feel it must be a fantastic place. It's an art museum and school in Michigan. Don't miss the sauna down on the lake. All of the different architectural styles in the home, and the significance of the trees, the furnishings, rugs etc- all imbued with special specific meaning. I adored this full experience. "Finland, Finland, Finland it's the country for me." Couldn't resist, that song was stuck in my head the whole time we were in that lovely country.

Absolutely well worth a visit - this museum is roughly 25 minutes drive from downtown Helsinki and easy to get to (with plenty of signs to guide the user to the museum). The museum is the home of 3 Finnish architecture partners and is a great example of Finland's only native architecture style - Finnish Romantic. Americans especially will appreciate a lot of the Arts and Crafts/Art Nouveau/Jugend Stile influences - if Frank Lloyd Wright had lived in Finland, this is what his estate would have looked like. There is a strong American connection since one of the architects moved to America (Eliel Saarinen) and built several famous buildings. He was outdone by his son, however, mid century architect and designer Eero Saarinen, who designed the St. Louis Arch, Dulles Airport, JFK Terminal, and others. Eero was born and grew up at Hvittrask. The 3 mansions are grand but it is really the lake at the base of the hill that is truly magical. This location gives visitors a chance to experience Finnish architecture and nature at its grandest. There is also a small cafe for coffee/tea and pastries. Out of all the tourist destinations in the greater Helsinki area, it is always Hvittrask that I recommend to my friends first (followed by Seurasaari) to experience Finland.
