Hvoll Cottages

We stayed in one of these lovely detached lodges in a rural setting a few km from Vik for 3 nights. They are small, especially for a family of 4, but perfect for a few nights. The lodge was very clean and well equipped, including an oven/hob, fridge, kettle, toaster, tea and coffee. Had the weather been better, there was also a picnic bench to the front with splendid views. There was only one bedroom with a sofa bed in the lounge but that was fine for us. Shower was lovely and hot. Parking is available right outside.||This was a very quiet environment and we would definitely recommend it if you are touring Iceland with your own transport.

A modest cabin along the route toward Vik. The lodging is managed by a family that owns the surrounding land and horses (that can be booked for a riding tour!). The woman that checked us in was such a sweetheart! It was a smooth process getting our key, parking next to our cabin and getting settled. We arrived early enough to take a short walk to the black sand beach through their gate access. The cabin itself was super cute and stocked for with a basic kitchen, double bed and private bathroom. It was our most affordable stay of our 9 day trip and kept us warm and cozy for our stay overnight. Can’t recommend this little spot enough!

Our family of 4 stayed here for one night on our southern Iceland road trip. Cottage is cute and very cozy. A little worn in places and the bed was not as comfortable as others we stayed at but it did the job. |We unfortunately did not get to see the private black sand beach as the weather did not cooperate with us. We did enjoy seeing the horses and our view of Dyrhólaey from our window.

The cottages are great for 2 people however we had 3 and the sofa bed was squeaky and uncomfortable. Otherwise it is in a lovely setting short walk to beach.

The cottage was fine, but the highlight was definitely the setting just a 5-min walk from the beach which is virtually private since there are no other accesses! They also offer horse riding tours, even for kids, our 6 and 3-year olds got to ride horses on the beach which they absolutely loved! We stayed 3 nights, but we could have stayed 4 or 5 there is so much to do around, and it's not far from the region highlights (Skogafoss, Reynisfjara, the famous black sand beach, Vik)

Really enjoyed the night we spent in the cottage! It was cozy and comfy, so quiet and peaceful, and we loved waking up on the farm to cows and sheep outside our windows. It was the perfect spot for northern lights viewing since it’s away from the city. We also did a horseback riding tour with them that leaves right from the farm and goes to black sand beach which was amazing!!! So fun and such a great experience. Loved our time here- highly recommend!

We had an amazing stay in Iceland! The cottage was absolutely wonderful—cozy, clean, and in the perfect location. Roosa, our guide, was exceptional. She was kind, knowledgeable, and made the horseback riding tours one of the highlights of our trip. We highly recommend the tours to anyone visiting!||We also had the incredible experience of getting married here, and the owner, along with Roosa and the Team, supported us every step of the way, making our special day even more perfect. Their hospitality truly made our stay unforgettable.||We can't wait to return!
