Hyatt Centric Guatemala City

In short a fantastic hotel, with amazing staff, food, location, comfort. Just great. Zero problems. Stayed at this hotel 3 times in 2 weeks (we used it as a base hotel for our travels around the country so stayed 3 times).||||Like I said, amazing service. Great food. Perfect location and just overall excellent. You may be thinking - ick - Hyatt centric; however the service level at this hotel was park Hyatt level. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. The food had local and international fare. They had a salad bar with actual live growing salad greens cut to order. Just amazing. Zero complaints with our stay here. nothing but good things to say. Located in a fantastic commercial part of Guatemala City so easy to walk to everything. I would not hesitate to stay here again.||||LESLIE at reception was the absolute best - staff/concierge/person. The manager of the hotel restaurant was great too!

This place is very elegant and clean, and it has an amazing collection of Guatemalan art throughout the property. Just the pieces next to reception are spectacular. Don't miss the wall full of Guatemalan masks in the breakfast area. I loved that they had a wide and tasty selection of Guatemalan dishes at breakfast in addition to the mainstream offerings of course. Well done!

We are never disappointed by the Hyatt and this lovely hotel in Guatemala City was no exception! A beautiful and well up kept hotel with friendly staff. Best of all, they were so welcoming to our little dog. The rooms were gorgeous, spacious and very clean. Room service was quick and delicious! We highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful, chi design. Very thoughtful and helpful lighting (ie reading lights, under bed and bathroom night lights that automatically go on when you walk to toilet at night). Freindly staff. My only complaint is they charge $15pp ($30/couple) for the airport shuttle (they are an airport hotel) when an uber costs $3.50.

Stayed for business for a week, really nice room, comfortable bed, service was exceptional , everyone was out of the way helpful, breakfast buffet was great a lot of different Fruits, hams, cheeses, daily would have 2 different local items, empanada, different French toast, dumpling. It is connected to a mall, limited shops, a little upper end. Did have 3 restaurants, PF Changs, Friday's and Los Ranchos. The Hotel is also in the tourist areas so there are a lot of great restaurants within walking distance.

Very clean, modern hotel with good quality customer service. In great location in Guatemala City as well!||||The check-in process was quick and effective, they check in quickly with you to make sure your room is up to your satisfaction, comfortable beds , nice large shower, clean rooms, nice pool and penthouse. The breakfasts were also quite good. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time here at the Hyatt. The redemption value if you’re a Hyatt member and have enough points is more than fair. It is located in zone 10. Probably one of the most modern parts of the city and only 10 minutes away from the airport. The rooftop And all the amenities were amazing. Rudy was the host that attended us the last day that we were there, we were so glad that we met him. He’s very knowledgeable about Guatemalan culture and gave us a few insider tips. The only reason that I’m giving it four stars instead of five is for the fact that we requested an early check-in and it was approved, but upon getting to the hotel, our friends were able to check in early, but we weren’t. We were also told that breakfast was complementary with our stay, but when we went to breakfast, we come to find out that it was 25 USD per person for the breakfast buffet. We even contacted Hyatt directly to see if there was any wiggle room, but unfortunately, they weren’t able to accommodate. We also saw that other guests got complementary welcome tastings of the local rum, which weren’t given to us. Other than waiting for the room, having to pay for breakfast, and not receiving the complementary tastings. The overall experience was amazing. The rooms were super clean. The staff was super friendly. The drinks at the rooftop were pretty good for the price that they were at. And the views from the pool were amazing. The pool is also a bit warm. So even during the rainy season, it is amazing to spend a day up at the pool. I would be more than happy to stay here again on my next visit to Guatemala

Overall price was not worth it. This is the second time I stayed here in my past two visit to Guatemala. Service is mediocre and both times I scheduled a taxi with the hotel to take me to the airport it never came or came late because they forgot to book it. Each time I had shuffle around for an Uber at 3 in the morning in order to not miss my flight. Plus, since I prepaid the taxi I never got reimbursed the $25. Probably could have put more effort into getting the money back but I’m a busy man and don’t have time to dispute with the hotel on this. Also, before leaving, I asked the front desk for my bill and he was not able to provide it because the system was down. I was promised that it would be sent to my email but unfortunately that never happened. It was easy enough to download from the website but made me waste my personal time to do so. Hope they can figure their system out and improve because they have lost my business after these two past stays. It is definitely not worth the $375.
