We recently stayed at the Hyatt Centric in Montevideo, and while there were definitely some highlights, our overall experience left us feeling underwhelmed.||||Let’s start with the positives. The location is absolutely unbeatable—steps from the Rambla and within walking distance to great restaurants, shops, and the river. The lobby is gorgeous, modern, and inviting—exactly what you’d hope for when arriving at a Hyatt-branded property. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, and we genuinely appreciated their professionalism… with the exception of one male bartender whose attitude could use a little polishing.||||Now for the not-so-great parts.||||The room itself felt small and cramped, which was manageable—but the cleanliness (or lack thereof) was disappointing. The bathroom wasn’t thoroughly cleaned, and the overall condition of the room didn’t reflect the standards we’ve come to expect from Hyatt. We were surprised that the room didn’t have an iron or ironing board—a small thing, but worth noting for travelers who like to look halfway put-together.||||Honestly, if the room had been cleaner and a bit more thoughtfully maintained, we might have looked past the other details. But given the price point, we expected more.||||Would we return? Probably not—unless the rate was significantly lower and we had some kind of assurance that the rooms were better maintained.||||It’s a shame, really. This hotel has all the makings of a great stay, but unfortunately, the rooms just didn’t deliver.
