I recently stayed at Hyatt House Jersey City and overall had a comfortable experience. The room was super clean, with a spacious layout and a large kitchenette that made it feel like a little home away from home. I loved the walk-in shower, which was refreshing and modern, and the location was great—close to everything I needed. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the stay even more pleasant. That said, some areas felt a bit outdated, like the lobby and certain room decor. I also wished there had been an option to choose my room view. For the price, adding wellness-focused amenities like a pool, jacuzzi, sauna, or spa would really enhance the experience. Overall, it’s a convenient, comfortable hotel with excellent cleanliness and thoughtful room features. A few updates and added amenities could make it outstanding.

I want to give a special shoutout to the Hyatt House Jersey City team after my clients' wedding this past weekend. We were so grateful for the incredible support from everyone on staff. Eileen, our venue coordinator, was an absolute joy to work with. She was always quick to respond, open to our ideas, and genuinely invested in helping us bring the couple’s vision to life. As a wedding planner, I work with a lot of venues, and it’s always such a breath of fresh air when the venue team collaborates closely with planners. Eileen was a true partner from beginning to end. On the event day itself, Miguel and Jude were fantastic. They ensured everything ran smoothly behind the scenes and made sure the evening flowed without a hitch. It was truly a team effort, and I’m so appreciative of the professionalism and care shown throughout the planning process and on the day of the wedding. When planners and venue teams work hand in hand, the magic really happens—and this one was definitely a celebration we won’t forget!

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a very good experience. The location was great, and the room was nice, clean, and comfortable. Everything was well-maintained and the staff was friendly. The only downside was that the room I originally booked was oversold, so I had to stay in a lower-level room instead. That was a bit disappointing and inconvenient. However, aside from that issue, everything else was excellent. I’d consider staying here again because of the cleanliness and good service.

First time in NJ/NY. I decided to stay here for the spacious rooms they offered! Very nice and very clean. I was surprised they also offered a very good breakfast buffet, and a rooftop bar with stunning views of the Manhattan skyline. The location could not be more perfect with the convenient location near public transportation, including the PATH train and ferry. Again, newbie here and I was lost but so happy the PATH train was available which took you directly to the World Trade Center for just a couple of dollars. The staff was very very friendly. We arrived earlier than check in and offered to hold bags till check in time or for a small fee we could check in earlier. I liked that they offered the early check in. I did not take that option only because we only had a couple of hours so we left bags there and walked around and went to eat. Just having the option was nice. Check out was super easy. I’d stay here again. Loved the location!

I had one of the worst hotel experiences at Hyatt House Jersey City. - My room was directly above the train tracks. The noise was unbearable and I could not sleep the entire night. When I asked for a room change, the staff refused. I was forced to check out early. - The billing was incorrect. My confirmed rate was $557.64, but the hotel tried to charge me $782.77. When I questioned this, I received inconsistent and unhelpful answers. - On the day of checkout, no luggage carts were available for over an hour. I had to carry my heavy bags piece by piece by myself while staff ignored me and only said “in use.” They were unfriendly and unhelpful. This stay completely ruined my trip to New York. Hyatt failed to provide even the most basic service or hospitality. I will never stay at a Hyatt again and do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Google
Great place to stay for nyc travelers. 2 block walk to ferry to 911 memorial, ferry runs about every 15 min. PATH stop outside of building, discounted public parking next door. Awesome nyc view! Great place to walk along the water! Amazing view, food, cocktails at roof top restaurant.

I have 53 nights in a Hyatt property this year and this is the first ever review I’ve written. I do not recommend and will never stay here again. There was no early check in which is not guaranteed but started us off on the wrong foot. We checked into the hotel and in the bathroom there was hair everywhere. Someone must have shaved and housekeeping didn’t clean it well. The hair in the shower was just as bad. I went downstairs to have them clean the room again. That took 2 hours and a $50 credit was given. It was disgraceful. Before leaving I always pile the towels to make it easy for housekeeping along with striping the bed. After being out all day and coming in around 11PM guess what was still there. My son is sleep and there were no sheets or towels. So I carry him back downstairs to tell them and they seals they will send someone up. He showed up 45 minutes later with towels. There was nothing to address the bed so back downstairs I go to get a new room. I then have to move all of stuff and carry a sleeping kid. This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had. After a few days vacation I return home exhausted from the Hyatt and that should not be the case.

Google
Definitely recommend if you're having an extended stay in the our near the city. It's about a $50 ride share if you want to go into the city. The room was clean and having a kitchenette was very helpful. My only issue was with check-in, they weren't able to accommodate an early check-in.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about this hotel. We were upgraded to a small suite, with a complete kitchen (dishwasher, fridge, stove, dishes, etc.). Everything was clean and in working order, in fact the appliances looked like new. The television actually pivoted from the small living room to the bed...genius! The shower stream was forceful with plenty of hot water. The breakfast included in the rate was generous and had a wide selection of hot and cold items. Sitting in the glass enclosure overlooking the NYC skyline was a bonus. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Excellent location, right next to the PATH station, getting into the city in minutes. The parking garage is a quick walk and costs $27/night. My only suggestion is to upgrade the thin towels. Great stay!

Yelp
This place was so stinky. I'm not sensitive but the smell was so bad in my room that I was looking around for some rotten ham sandwich or something before finally switching rooms to one with windows that opened. Equally bad, but completely in their control, they removed all the bathroom doors and replaced them with sliding glass panels, and no these aren't even "barn doors". They don't even close. So if you can bear the smell (and the godawful boxed scrambled eggs), you'll only want to stay here if you'll be alone. Just you and the rotting ham sandwich smells.

Yelp
Not sure why this hotel has a bad average score. The room was clean, had the expected amenities, and good blackout shades. We had to store our luggage both when arriving and departing and that process was very smooth. The included breakfast had a lot of options and a beautiful view up at the Terrace. Speaking of great views, the Terrace and Rooftop Bar get amazing views of Manhattan. Some have complained about the elevators. We didn't have that issue. Once we got on the wrong elevator to reach the Terrace but that's not a huge deal, though they could label the elevator doors better. Location was very convenient to the PATH train the the World Trade Center. I'd consider coming back especially if I need to be in Lower Manhattan.

Yelp
Hyatt House is not a bad option if you are looking to stay in downtown JC. I've stayed a few times and it checks off the boxes for basic things that you'd look for in a hotel stay. The room is clean and spacious, the bed is comfy and the location on the waterfront at Exchange Place is really prime. You can even see the water from many of the rooms. They also have a rooftop bar and restaurant. It's expensive, but not a bad place to post up for a drink and look out at the skyline. The reason I'm giving 3 stars is the layout / elevator situation. It's really confusing to get around this hotel, and it literally takes 30 minutes to get an elevator in or out. It's much easier to get around the Hyatt Regency next door, so for future stays in JC I'd probably stay there instead.

Yelp
The views are amazing and the place is an esthetically awesome place, however, so disappointing because the food is not good. They only have 3 entree selections (chicken, fish, beef) and the fish and beef where both dry and not very good. I did however enjoy their garlic rice . Ironically, I would go back for the stunning view and maybe appetizers.

Yelp
Throughout our hotel travels, Jaylen has been the only person to truly bring our requests to life! Knowing we'd be checking in late after a long trip and staying for a week, we wanted to be on a higher floor. Jaylen made a note of this, and when we arrived, both Cody and Jaylen worked together to get us the very top floor for our suite. It really took the stress off after such a long journey. Plus, we were greeted with lovely petals, which was such a nice touch! The suite is super cozy, though perhaps the blinds could use a little updating since they show some wear and tear. But honestly, it has everything we could ask for!

Yelp
Staff is nice but this hotel is nasty y'all. We had a suite and housekeeping came to our room twice to clean up hair left from previous guests and they still didn't get it up! I'm like "what did y'all do???" They left a plate of cheese for the inconvenience to which we were gonna eat until we opened the drawer to get a fork. That's when we found a baby roach along with ants. The worst was the breakfast. I just so happened to step in the kitchen to get the attention of one of the staffers to replenish the bowls and ended up seeing her hand rinsing the bowls in a sink with a towel. No soap. No dishwasher. Nothing. Just gross!!! I don't know what it is about New Jersey, but as a whole, they have a problem with clean hotels. OSHA needs to come in and put their foot down. This is just ridiculous!

Yelp
I am writing this review to express my disappointment regarding several aspects of my recent stay at this hotel. While I had looked forward to a comfortable and enjoyable visit, the experience fell significantly short of expectations -- especially given the premium rates charged. As a loyal guest who has stayed at this hotel multiple times over the years, I've noticed a steady decline in quality with each visit. Unfortunately, this most recent experience has made it difficult to justify ever returning, and we will likely seek alternative accommodations when visiting relatives in the area going forward. Here are the key concerns we encountered: 1. Parking Confusion and Unexpected Charges Upon arrival, we discovered that the adjacent parking garage was closed. We were not made aware of this prior to us checking in and directed to alternative garages several blocks away, none of which offered validation. This lack of communication resulted in an unexpected $29.00 out-of-pocket expense -- a frustrating start to the stay. 2. Unpleasant Corridor Conditions The corridor on our floor had a persistent and unpleasant odor throughout the stay, which detracted from the overall atmosphere and comfort. 3. Broken Toilet The toilet in our room was malfunctioning and ran continuously through the night, disrupting sleep and adding to the discomfort. 4. Buffet Quality and Availability The breakfast buffet was poorly managed -- food items ran out quickly, and what remained was cold and unappetizing. This was especially disappointing given the cost of the stay. 5. Noise and Room Placement Our room was located directly beneath the function hall, resulting in excessive noise during events. This made it difficult to relax or sleep, and again, was not disclosed at the time of booking. The combination of these issues -- from facilities to service -- did not align with the high prices charged. I expected a far higher standard of hospitality and transparency. We've always appreciated the convenience and location of this hotel, but this visit left us feeling let down and undervalued as returning guests. I also responded to a survey from the hotel after my stay and voiced my disappointment and got no results. I would have hoped that the hotel would have taken this feedback more seriously they did not.

Yelp
We entrused Hyatt House to host a corporate event. Services utilized: Group reservations, meeting room, rooftop bar, breakfast, parking We went through group reservations through Brenda who was phenomenal. She was very patient with me and all of my questions. Brenda & I kept in communication for months, and she was always clear and succinct in her details. Brenda also connected me with Danny to coordinate our meeting room booking. The whole team was very accommodating. Some of my team reported that the breakfast was not so good, which was disappointing to hear. We chose this location with the thought in mind that our team could have convenient breakfast here. The rooftop bar was nice! Lovely sunset view/reflection. Parking was discounted.

Yelp
My family and I stayed at this hotel for a night before boarding a cruise ship. The check-in desk was located on the rooftop level, where breakfast was also served. However, the elevators were extremely slow and took a long time to reach our floor. Later, I discovered that there was an elevator located on the street side that could directly take us to the rooftop breakfast area. The hotel room was exceptionally clean. On the day of our stay, the weather was 28 degrees Celsius, and the lobby lacked a heater, making it extremely cold and freezing. Despite these minor inconveniences, the hotel offers an amazing view of the ocean and the Empire State Building from its rooftop.

Yelp
The location is very convenient (2 minute walk to PATH station, 0 minute walk to Light Rail) and beautiful (unobstructed view of Manhattan skyline). Parking is available for $27/day with no in-and-out privileges. The Rooftop Lounge has gorgeous views. Dinner at the indoor terrace is very romantic. As a guest here, free breakfast is served at the indoor terrace and provides a very relaxing start to the day. The breakfast food quality isn't that good though, consisting mostly of processed foods (1 star off). I got their oatmeal which looked the least processed. My room was pretty comfortable with clean sheets and towels. The bed was at the right firmness for me. I wish there was a little more lighting in the room, but not a huge deal. It rained while I was staying here and they do not have umbrellas for guests to borrow. Weekend evenings can get quite loud from noises at Exchange Place, and you will be waken up by bells from the Light Rail in the mornings (1 star off). Check-in is on the top floor, and then you go down to your room level. Depending on the time of the day, the elevator can be crowded with people trying to access the Rooftop Lounge. It would be great if there are separate elevators for hotel guests and those going to the Rooftop Lounge.

Yelp
I recently stayed at Hayatt House New jersey and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. There were several issues that made my stay unpleasant: The staff was unresponsive and unhelpful. When I requested assistance with Water in the room,it took an unreasonably long time to receive any help and i didn't get any water for my room.the staff was so rude! There was a severe lack of communication from the hotel staff. Overall, I was very disappointed with my stay at Hayatt House New jersey I hope that the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses these issues promptly. Improving these aspects could make a significant difference in the experience for future guests.

Yelp
Pros Very close to the subway and rail trains. Located on the boardwalk Rooftop restaurant Fee breakfast each morning Full kitchen with fridge, microwave and stove with utensils. Very friendly hotel staff Within walking distance of food spots. Cons At first glance (surface level) this is a very nice hotel. It appears that it was remodeled some time ago, and was never kept up properly. During our stay I noticed mildew/mold around the shower, stains on the walls & questionable spots between the sink and the wall. Parking is $27/day in the parking deck unless you find somewhere to park on the street. Bed is super firm Pull out bed is a thin mattress with no support. Take away Priced ok for a family stay. There were 4 of us that fit comfortably in the room.

Yelp
My first one star, and it is well deserving. We booked a room thinking we were getting a city view based on the pictures on the Hyatt website, but we were scammed into a room with a cement wall view. We addressed this with the front desk and they were nothing but rude to us. They said "oh yeah the pictures online aren't accurate." Then maybe they should be fixed? Later, they rolled their eyes at us and when we asked them a question, all we got was a "mhm" back. We fortunately got our money back through our third party booking, and the actual city view was available the following day, but due to their absolutely rude customer service, we are going to give our money elsewhere. I have been a Hyatt fan for years, but I am thinking about going to other hotels from now on. I highly recommend staying somewhere else.

shahla y.

Yelp
I'm a positive person. Try to overlook a lot of details & focus on big picture. I've never written a review that was negative. This one I just had to put it out: - check in - waited over 4 hours - room - hot bed bugs bite all over me - service - slow and uncaring - parking - about $30/day and had to pay each time the car was moved. - Accessibility - inconvenient, confusing and counter intuitive. Nothing about his place was easy. Staff seemed to go in circles and not addressing frustrated customers. I highly recommend avoiding this hotel and choose something similar with a lot more convenience.

Yelp
It sucks. Loaded with chicks. No guys. Seems like a babe joint. If you wanna meet a girl, sure. Bartenders are nice. Not THAT nice. Everyone looks tired.

Yelp
I spent a wonderful evening on the 9th floor of the Hyatt at my company Christmas party and what a view! NYC skyline was on full display. The hotel is decorated beautiful for the holidays and the staff was so very accommodating to us!! The ballroom while pretty large just wasn't large enough for our company but still beautiful to have a special occasion. I can't say too much about the food because since my company chose the menu they didn't pick the most appetizing and poplar dishes but it was good enough since it was an open bar. I would like to come back for dinner at the restaurant and a stay. Parking is pricy but they do valet.

Jam M.

Yelp
Location Location Location That's the only + staying at this location the PATH is virtually steps away. Which makes this a gathering place for homeless people creating a transient type of environment. The staff aren't that friendly nor helpful. The breakfast buffet is horrible. The aesthetics of the hotel are worn and stained (couch to the carpet). This is more of a drinking partying hot spot. The elevators smelled of marijuana and alcohol. Not recommended for older or family oriented guests even though there's a beautiful playground on the premises. The skyline is a view to be seen. The bar location is an inconvenience to locate within the premise. The rooms regulation of temperature is horrible with the living room ice cold and bedroom like a sauna. Pull out couch is like sleeping on nails. The linen is tattered with holes and should be thrown out instead of being used for sleeping accommodations. I'd compare this hotel to the Holiday Inn.

Yelp
This is my favorite hotel in Jersey City!! This was my second time staying here over the weekend and I would truly stay here again. It's an awesome location if you're visiting NJ or NYC! There are path stations and some other train stop right outside the door. There are also great restaurants right around the corner- subway, five guys, a small diner, Dunkin donuts, Starbucks and another coffee shop. I also found a great grocery store about 1 1/2 blocks away so that's convenient if you wanted to cook your own food in the room! Speaking of the room, my room had a full kitchen, a dining table, a couch and seating area, and then a separate bedroom! The bathroom was a good size and had a beautiful stand up shower! It was really spacious. This hotel also includes a free breakfast! The options were good and breakfast was very fresh. The chef cooks special omelets every day and each day it is something new! The best part of breakfast were the views of Manhattan!!! Absolutely stunning! I was unable to visit the roof top bar during my stay but apparently they have the top floor open for drinks! It would be beautiful in the evenings to see the lights of Manhattan!

Mike B.

Yelp
Location was amazing. It's maybe 20 feet away from the Path, making it an ideal spot for an NYC vacation. The room itself was comfortable and clean, but there was too much emphasis on style over function. Specifically, the bathroom door was translucent glass and not really a door so much as a movable screen. If you're staying with a significant other, hopefully you've reached the stage of your relationship where you're comfortable going to the bathroom in front of one another. If you need to drop any kids off at the pool, there'll be no hiding it from your traveling companion. The breakfast was a disappointment. You could hammer nails with the pancakes. Literally. If Yelp allowed videos, I'd post proof. You'll just have to take my word for it though.

Sam Y.

Yelp
Stayed for a week this March 2025. The good : The room was clean and up to date! Nice job housekeeping! I give you folks 5 stars. So let's talk about the breakfast lounge. Simply put the eggs are not fresh but come from a liquid slurry. I asked ... these eggs smell so bad I ate the boiled eggs. I asked the desk and the servers to check the eggs and they would remove the tray dump it and make a new one and a little while later it would small again. While in the breakfast buffet I saw a man in flip flops walk up with 4 empty bottles of water and stick the bottle neck into the spigot of the ice water dispenser and fill his 4 bottles because that was beyond disgusting with all the diseases and ailments running around. Yes I pointed it out the front desk not sure if they asked the kitchen to replace the water or sterilize the dispenser. I will not be going back to this Hyatt. The employees don't care

Yelp
Best experience I ever had!!! the stories and memories goes on for days !! lol super clean the space is comfortable right by the water, the path trains and the light-rail. There's two separate entrance's the main lobby and the a rooftop I believe... Dunkin' Donuts and a Starbucks near by, However I would get my own food or order out. Also not too far of a ride coming from Manhattan. Via Path to World Trade Center and 34th street and a Ferry to batter state park. Beautiful view. I wouldn't walk I would run to book this place especially in advance.

Gordon L.

Yelp
The worst hotel management I experienced. There was an event in front of the hotel and the event last way past 11pm. Called the hotel and they said nothing we can do. Asked them to call the police, he said that you can go ahead to do it. Also the place is not clean as there are cockroaches in the bathroom. Had many great experience with Hyatt, but this one is definitely the worst ever!!! Definitely would have picked another hotel even though it is convenient.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this hotel because the location is incredible! It sits directly in the Hudson River and the views from the breakfast restaurant are amazing. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. But, the hotel itself was just blah. I was placed in a two bedroom room with a view of another guest's room. I actually saw them sitting on their couch from my bed. The beds were comfortable and it was fairly quiet. BUT the room was dirty. It needed repairs and a thorough deep clean. The bathroom ceiling was peeling, the bathroom had mold and dirt in the walls, there was hair everywhere, AND I found a thong next to the dresser. I was highly disappointed with this hotel and won't be returning.

Yelp
We recently stayed at this hotel and had a great experience. If you're looking for somewhere to stay and see views of the city, this is the place to go! We would like to note that there is no street parking, but there is a parking lot. Make sure you hold on to your ticket as the front desk will give you a discount on your parking. There is breakfast included. There were eggs, sausage, French toast, breakfast potatoes, donuts, yogurts, and coffee to choose from.
google avatar

Jess S.

Yelp
Well let me start by saying that I absolutely loved this place and will be returning. I wish I asked the girl's name who checked me in, she was amazing. I was there to celebrate my anniversary , and it was pouring down raining. I got there and she greeted me quickly, then she informed me that my room wasn't ready, but she upgraded it (what a relief, since I was drenched). She was really friendly and accommodating. She also made sure to tell me that parking would be validated and I'll only pay $25 instead of $37.I get to the room and it was beautiful and very clean and the bed was super comfy. I am truly impressed and can't wait to return.

Yelp
Too many low reviews for a hotel that deserves much more. I stayed here this past Saturday (Easter weekend) for 1 night and our room was a Specialty Room - 2 queen beds + sofa bed. I called a day prior to my reservation to confirm I was allowed to do an early check-in at 2 pm, and they told me that I would be able to 100%. So, on Saturday, I arrived at 1:50 because I had to be in the city by 3:15 pm, and I still needed to get ready. When we got there, the guy (Angel) told us that the hotel was sold out and that they'll try their best to get us a room at 2 but no guarantees. I was panicking at this moment. But luckily, he was able to pull some strings & housekeeping tidied up a room for us within 30 mins. The room was beautiful (4th floor no city views). Very spacious and 10 of my friends were able to walk around the room without bumping into each other. And free breakfast the next morning was great! It wasn't that much variety but it was better than being hungry and having to get something from outside of the hotel. Also, the new rooftop was still under construction so that was a downer when we weren't allowed to go there. The website should say that it's closed until end of April. Overall, a great stay and a great location!

Tamar K.

Yelp
Very pretty hotel that is just across from the Exchange Place Path station and walking distance to tons of stuff. It's on the water and so the lounge has a great view, but our room did not. So ask for one. It was clean and fine. The staff was very lovely. And they have a big fitness room open 24/7, which is great. No pool. I wish the gym had antibacterial and required masks, but they said their hands were tied because of corporate/franchise rule and to contact Hyatt, which I couldn't find how. They have a big breakfast spread which is great, unless you have food allergies. They had no extra options, and no signage to know what's in anything. I even called the hotel ahead to ask about it, and they were nice, but not helpful at all.
google avatar

Lydia K.

Yelp
This place has gone WAY downhill since Lynn left. From the management, to the way customers are treated and more. My fiancé and I stayed here regularly and came often from California. Now we try and avoid this place at all costs.
google avatar

Suraya N.

Yelp
I didn't want to give one star however our waitress Fiona on the rooftop was so pleasant and we truly enjoyed her energy and service. We had a difficult time finding the entrance to the hotel. It's extremely confusing. When we approached Caitlyn at the concierge for assistance she was not the least bit helpful and seemed irritated with us for asking directions to the restaurant. I believe at hotels like this the utmost respect should be given to the patrons and she needs to be educated on customer service skills. As someone who ran a very successful business customer service is a top priority for me and let's just say I would never stay at this hotel based solely on her attitude and demeanor.

Yelp
I stayed at the Hyatt House for my short trip to Manhattan. The location is solid as your 50 feet from the PATH station at Exchange Place, with easy connections to WTC and Newark. Our room was modern and clean. My boyfriend and I arrived at 10am (before 3pm check-in) and the staff let us have a room without hesitation. They even gave us a slightly larger room for free. The bed and bedding was soft and comfortable. Hyatt offers a free breakfast from their rooftop lounge. It was solid, with plenty of buffet offerings and healthy choices like yogurt and fruit. The staff was friendly and we checked out quickly.

Yelp
Overbook & understaffed. On a holiday.. every customer had to wait hours to access their rooms. We arrived at 10pm to check in they said "an hour wait minimum to check it, but could be longer" after speaking with every angry person in the waiting room turns out people had been waiting since 3pm and still have not gotten into their room! Lots of disappointment angry customers, and of course due to understaffing the bar/lounge area was a mess so people were sitting at dirty tables with garbage on them surrounded by all their luggage. Felt like an airport with delays. we waited about an hour and half and decided to cancel our stay. After which they told us there's no receipt for cancellation (so just hope that we refund you with no proof any of this situation happened) had to contact my credit card/third party company to get my refund processed since they never sent the email confirmation that supposedly had our cancellation request. Unfortunate this happened since the views seemed great and I'm sure the room would have been nice if we got the chance to see it. We ended up booking a room right down the street with no problems and wonderful service.

Yelp
Oh my god, the views of the city from this hotel! Amazing. Loved the sights, the lights, and the room. Spacious, comfy, and stocked with everything you need to survive a few days with teenagers cooped up. We stayed here in November 2018, when we went to see the thanksgiving day parade (highly recommend), and the room itself was great. As was the breakfast, on the top floor, with excellent views, and a friendly and helpful staff. The food was decent for a hotel buffet, and the omelets were great! Not to mention the awesome bananas foster! Another selling point, 2 minute walk to the PATH station, which we utilized often, except on parade day when it was delayed due to maintenance. Thank god for Lyft. However, that is where the greatness ends. The staff were rude. Unhelpful. Lazy. While housekeeping did an ok job with room turnover, the overall was terrible. Called EVERYDAY we were there for extra blanket and towels. Guess how many times they actually showed up? If you said never, good on you! Not once, even with multiple calls! As others have mentioned, only one luggage cart for the WHOLE hotel. Inconvenient. Upon arrival, you walk into a lobby, where a staff member stands there, looking at you looking lost. Then when you ask, you find out the desk is on the top floor. One person working up there. Waited 45 minutes to check in. This is after a 9 hour drive (darn traffic). You can guess I was less than pleased. Add in the fact that parking is $35 a day, the benefits start being overwhelmed. While It was a beautiful room, and great location, I will pay the extra next time to stay in the city, or at least somewhere where the staff seems (or pretends) to care.

Yelp
I stayed here for three weeks for work, and I couldn't recommend it enough. The staff was incredible as was the food from the rooftop and terrace. Shoutout to Mia and Eddy on the Terrance for making guest feel so welcome. Amazing service and I will be back the next time I am in town.

Yelp
I am shocked by the amount of horrible reviews of this place. I am not the type to leave reviews because it takes time & dedication to write a review haha but I just HAD to talk about the A-M-A-Z-I-N-G experience I had here! This was my second time staying here and it's always a great time. My flight arrived a little earlier than expected and I was running on no sleep. I was exhausted so I tried to check-in a few hours before but the lady at the front desk said our room wasn't ready. With that being said I grabbed my stuff and took a small nap right outside the J Owen Grundy Park, not to mention the view was quite spectacular. It was 2:00pm by then and I checked again to see if my room was possibly ready *crossing fingers* (I knew check in was at 3pm but I had hopes that I could check in an hr before) This time around Alexsis helped me. She was literally an angel sent from heaven. Unfortunately my room was not ready BUT she was able to accommodate my needs and upgrade our room to one that was available for me to check in. (THANK YOU ALEXSIS) The rooms were clean and fresh. We stayed there two nights, Alexsis checked up on us every night of our stay through texts. She was extremely attentive and offered her assistance with anything we needed. My sisters and I felt like at home. Breakfast was your basic eggs, sausage, potatoes & waffles or pancakes but the view made everything perfect. All the staff during breakfast time was extremely sweet to us. They all offered to take our plates every time they passed by our table. The guy from the front entrance was also great, he was able to hold our luggage and lock it in a room while we explored NYC on our last day after checking out. The only downside of this trip was the PATH train from exchange place to the world trade center is closed on weekends :/ luckily the ferry is only a 5 min walk from our hotel so that was quite nice. Overall, everything was a 20/10. We left extremely happy. To the staff: On behalf of my sisters and I, we really appreciate the personal treatment and kindness of all the staff. We were very impressed by the quality of service we were offered during our stay. Until next time! - With love from Los Angeles, CA

Yelp
Horrendous and dirty. I recently went to an event at this location and was so disappointed. The venue is beautiful on the waterfront but that's where it all ends. Broken glass window in the eating area with the view of the river and lady Liberty. In addition to the broken window, it appears as if there was some sort of gang like assault and a switch blade was lost on the floor just were we we supposed to enjoy breakfast. This place is a high priced run down hotel with a great view

Yelp
Went with two friends to the rooftop bar...my friend got a LIT but it came out without any coke in it! It was clear. That wasn't even the worst part..she ordered a top shelf LIT and she couldn't taste any alcohol. The waitress was kind enough to have it remade but it still came back watered down. Service was good but the fact that they water down their drinks will probably keep me from coming back. The view is pretty amazing from up top..really nice views of the NYC skyline. But the windows were designed weird so that when you sit, the view is a bit obstructed. Decor was a little questionable too..didn't feel like a lounge but more like patio furniture..not the most comfortable.

Yelp
Christa was amazing and the hotel has awesome views of the NYC skyline!! I had a great stay, everything was very clean. The rooms are very spacious and I really like the modern theme. I highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
Here for the weekend of march 16th to the 18th. I would never stay here again or recommend anyone to heres why. I booked a room on a high floor with a decent view. I got neither. Our bathroom door could not close in which piece of glass from the previous people staying here ran up in my foot. I called the front desk and all i got was a sorry. No help with a bandaid emergency room nothing. And the one bedroom suite is not what its all hyped up to be. My husband and i do staycations all the time and i recommended tourist to pay a little more dpr comfort like in Manhattan ny even though this weekend ran me 337.00 PURE BULLSHIT

Yelp
I have only been to the rooftop lounge twice and both times, the subpar service overshadowed the stellar views. The first time was for the grand opening and I attributed to a new staff. Second time was two weekends ago for a nightcap with a group of friends after a birthday party. I got there a little late and went to get a drink at the bar. My friends got there about 20 min earlier and were thoroughly disgusted with the lack of waitress service and the rude bar staff. I asked if service was that bad, they laughed and said that I would see soon. Undeterred, I went to the bar which was half empty since it was late. I get that the bartenders were in a bad mood because there were only two on duty but that didn't justify the nastiness and the ignoring of the drink requests from patrons. It's a shame because the location and view are great. I might check it out down the road for improvements but I can't recommend this as a pleasant venue.

Yelp
Hotel is right by the path so you can hear it operating all day. The laundry room smells like cat urine and has mold growing in it... so if you're looking for a long term stay, do not stay here. Service is ok. Not great, but also not awful. As a globalist, I will not be staying here ever again.

Yelp
My experience w/ Hyatt House is based on during COVID times, but I will say I was impressed regardless. I had fantastic service by Front Desk Christa, bartenders Donte & Yosef, and Devon extraordinaire. It is lovely to have a semi-full kitchen at your disposal. The gym could use a bit of TLC, but the VIEWS from this place is terrific. Parking to (un)loading from the front entrance isn't an issue if completed in 10 minutes. Nearby parking is quite expensive; however, they literally have the metro stop right in front of the building. I would definitely recommend Razza Pizza, and if that's too far of a walk for ya, Porto Pizza next. If you need a massage, I highly recommend Salvation Wellness' Christine & Marlene.

Yelp
You would think with the location and price your paying your experience would be better. I came here for my boyfriend and I anniversary and also booked a reservation at the restaurant in the hotel. The service was terrible consisting not many people were there and the food was average. Not to mention I left my glasses in the hotel and called immediately after I left to come back and told me I was unable to and told them exactly where I left my glasses, filled out the information for my lost item and never heard from them for a month, I then came in person asking about my glasses and they presented me with a pair of googles saying these were my glasses. I don't recommend. Just book an airbnb

Yelp
My experience started on the phone when I called numerous times within one day to ask a million questions. Lynn (front desk/lobby/check-in) was VERY helpful. She never once made me feel like I was inconveniencing her. I was extremely grateful for the frontline worker rate she gave me. Once my Uber dropped me off, I had A TON of luggage and was traveling alone. Attempting to get inside the lower lobby, none of the three men handling the 2 elevators/standing by...offered to help or bring out one of the luggage carts. It is possible they didn't see me struggling but for future reference maybe one of these gentlemen could be more aware of all surroundings. It's a tiny lobby waiting for the elevator to get to the actual lobby...three people are not needed just to guide people in and out fo the elevator. I did not have reservations for dinner on the first night, as it was NYE and all sold out. At check in, Lynn and another associate checked with the lounge area and were able to accommodate me at 8pm. I tried my chances and was beyond pleasantly surprised when I showed up and asked if there was any way I could sit in the dining room. Rocío was the hostess that night and boy did she deliver!!!! She was beyond accommodating and extremely pleasant in doing so. It is obvious that she truly cares about the customer experience. I wanted to make it up to the Rooftop Lounge before it closed at 10:00. I went up at 9:40 and the gentlemen at the door were not going to let me in. Despite being told by my server and being a hotel guest, they were just following orders of being told, "Not to let anyone in after 9:30". My fairy godmother (more like goddaughter), Rocío popped up out of nowhere and said, "Oh no no...Isabel is a guest here, and you will let her in." Rewinding a bit...Tyler was my server at dinner. He was helpful, gave great suggestions and quite attentive. My last glass of wine took a long time to get, as the bar was getting a bit backed up. Not a big deal as it was NYE and understandable but the next night, Tyler comped a glass of wine for me. Just like Rocío very good at their jobs and it is evident they want the patient experience to be memorable. While everything closed early on NYE, I still wanted to see if I could get a view of the NYC skyline at midnight. I went down to the dining room (closed at this point)...once again, Rocio, "Absolutely Isabel, enjoy!" My only other complaint aside from my arrival downstairs was when I sat on a chair in the dining room and it broke, laying me out on the floor pretty hard. The person I was with ran to tell someone. Not one employee came to check on me and the chair sat on that exact spot, broken on the floor for the duration of my time there...approximately 40 minutes. Even more surprising was that 36 hours later, the chair was still in the dining room, up against a window, in between other seating. If not paying attention, anyone could have sat there and hurt themselves. Surprising considering that everything else was on point for the most part. Lynn, Rocio, and Tyler contributed greatly to my experience...especially Rocío in case you couldn't tell. Complimentary breakfast...awesome! It's not what it typically is due to Covid, but they still offer what they can. Many places aren't even doing that right now. THE VIEW...HELLO! Experience this hotel even if just for the view. You will NOT be disappointed!!!! While I did not venture from the hotel, it is a great location next to public transportation...plenty of eateries close by and many food delivery apps service the area.

Yelp
Disappointing. First, checkin is at the rooftop. We had to change our room 3 times, from the 1142 to 740 to finally 642. The card keys did not work. The shower door leaks so the bathroom floor was a mess. Cracked tile in shower and stains on carpet and walls. Hallway carpet and rooftop carpet is really filthy and worn. TV remote stopped working our 3 day. Linens were changed twice on our 6 day stay, room was freezing so blankets were required. Only 2 thin sheets and a very thin quilted pad on bed no bedspread or comforter. Mold on both fabric window shades. And the bathroom fan did not work. This hotel needs remodeling bad. Free daily breakfast is bad, dry overcooked tasteless potatoes, chunky undercooked scrambled eggs, fresh fruit and strong coffee.

Yelp
Everything about this establishment was amazing. From the outstanding views to the service. My server, Ivy was phenomenal, very friendly and polite. She made our dining experience even better. The food was good as per Ivy's recommendations. Will be back soon! Thank you Hyatt House.

Yelp
I have used Yelp as an invaluable resource for more than a decade and have never felt compelled to write a review, positive or negative... but my experience here has been so poor I don't want anyone else to waste their time or money. The women checking me in was lovely. She is the single start in this rating. But my room is on the 2nd floor, directly in front of a train stop and one of the main entrances so there is truly no way for it to be quiet at any point in time. It smells like smoke, doesn't get Wi-Fi (hi 2022!) even after I asked for assistance and was told there's nothing they can do to help, and the only temp for the water in the bathroom sink is liquid hot magma. Sadly it doesn't stop there but you obviously get the idea... Save your money and go somewhere else!

Yelp
Probably the best place for happy hour in Jersey city strictly for the view. Drinks off happy hour prices are pricey (as to be expected). The apps are good, service is slow, but the view is breathtaking. For apps I would recommend the meatballs and the sliders. The flatbreads are pretty good as well.

Yelp
Disappointed to stay in a $300 a night room with no housekeeping on post-Covid basis. No glasses in bathroom, towels were not replaced by housekeeping when they did finally show up, no toilet paper replacement and a truly depressing room decor. Stayed at less expensive room for 2 prior nights; was like night and day! Surprised about level of service at a Hyatt hotel.
