Loved our stay here. Despite having to cut our vacation slightly short due to illness, we always felt welcome the entire trip. The staff went out of their way to answer our questions and accommodate requests. The 2 queen room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was varied and tasty. Our kids had fun in the indoor pool, which was kept at a nice temperature. Location is a stone’s throw from the beach, and there’s plenty of fun to be had within walking distance. We hope to return in the future!

Very nice hotel on the bay! Staff were very friendly and professional! It’s a short 1 block walk to the beach, and it also has a small beach on the bay. Breakfast was included and was decent. Grounds were well kept. Indoor pool is for regular guests but was down for a few days so I can only comment that it looked like a nice area. They a private outdoor pool but that’s for condo reservations only, I believe, because we didn’t have access and they wouldn’t offer that to us when I asked about pool access while indoor pool was down. The lighthouse restaurant/bar on the grounds was very good. Staff were fantastic there too! I would stay again.

I recently stayed at the Hyatt Dewey Beach and had a truly exceptional experience—largely thanks to Nicole S., the Front Office Manager. Traveling with someone who has a disability can come with a lot of uncertainty, but Nicole went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for our stay. She took the time to answer all of my ADA-related questions in detail, and even came in on her day off to personally measure the room and send photos to ensure all accommodations were in place. That level of thoughtfulness and follow-through is incredibly rare. What really touched me was that Nicole remembered my family was staying in the nearby condos and made sure our room was as close as possible to them. These small gestures mean the world when accessibility and proximity make such a difference. Because of her outstanding hospitality and dedication, I felt confident and comfortable from the moment we arrived. This kind of service is exactly why I will absolutely be returning to Hyatt Dewey Beach. Thank you, Nicole—you made our trip so much easier and more enjoyable.

We had our daughter’s wedding at the Hyatt Place Dewey Beach’s Lighthouse Cove Event Center recently and it was a tremendous success! Initial meetings with Kate put our minds at ease during the entire planning process. Chelsea was very helpful as well in the weeks leading up to our event with ensuring details were perfect. The hotel staff, from housekeeping to the front desk were very professional, courteous and helpful. The event staff including wait staff and bartenders were phenomenal. Our guests raved about how attentive they were throughout the event. The chef and staff prepared a beautiful and delicious cocktail hour buffet, sit down dinner and amazing breakfast brunch! Thank you all for helping make our daughter and son-in-law’s wedding absolutely perfect!

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff at the front desk were courteous and efficient, making the check-in process smooth and pleasant. The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, providing a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring Dewey Beach. I particularly enjoyed the ocean view from my window, which added a special touch to my stay. Breakfast each morning was delightful, offering a variety of options that catered to different tastes. The dining area was also well-maintained, and the staff were attentive and friendly. I also appreciated the hotel’s convenient location, which made it easy to access local attractions and restaurants. My experience at Hyatt Place Dewey Beach was exceptional, and I look forward to visiting again. Thank you for providing such a wonderful stay.

We stayed on the 3rd floor which was quiet. The full breakfast was filling with new items each day. The complimentary parking garage was nice. The bay side beach access and lighthouse restaurant exceeded our expectations. The meeting rooms and ballroom were perfect for our conference .||The hotel was clean , staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Google
Pros: Staff is helpful, parking is included, close to beach, and breakfast was good. ||Cons: The hotel presents as nice and refreshed, however the walls are thin and it is incredibly loud. Bring a white noise machine! We asked to be moved and staff were very accommodating, but the disrupted sleep continued. Our room did not have any natural light which was also strange. It felt like sleeping in the inside room on a cruise ship.

The hotel was clean and well kept. The selling point is the great location. Near the beach, easy to get to Rehobeth and walk around or stay there and go to their bar restaurant right on the Bay Area. I will definitely come back. The only issue I see is parking is a bit tight, but I was able to find a place to park.

Yelp
The Hyatt Place Dewey is located by the bay which makes it nice if you want to go for a walk by the bay and it is also across from Rusty Rudder a great bar that has live music. On Friday's if you are over 21 they had complimentary Orange crushes. Not sure if this is every Friday or if it was just for a special event that was going in at the hotel when we stayed here. The staff here are friendly and helpful. The hotel lobby is spacious and clean. They have a big sitting area with tables and chairs and tvs. This is where people eat meals. If you are a guest you get a free breakfast. The breakfast is nothing special by the way. There were eggs, sausages, cereal, bagels and oatmeal and a few other things. I participated in the free breakfast for my first day there and I was not impressed at all. It was the same when I stayed at another Hyatt place in another state. The eggs were pretty bad and the plates, bowls and silverware I first picked up were all dirty. I had to go through 2-3 to finally not get a dirty one. There is a pool and a gym in this hotel which is great. I did not go swimming while staying here but saw the pool area. I did not get to see the gym though. The room as you can see from pics are spacious and have a little living room like area with a couch. And a little wall that kind of separates it. This hotel is located right in Dewey and is very walkable to the great bar/ restaurant scene. I would stay here again if need be.

Yelp
During my most recent stay at Hyatt Dewey we rented a condo unit. The two bedroom condo is extremely spacious! Both bedrooms are large with plenty of closet space, and both full bathrooms are also large. There's a decent sized living room, dining area and a full kitchen with tons of cabinets. All appliances are modern and the dishwasher and laundry both felt brand new. The hotel has plenty of amenities like a gym and indoor pool and complimentary breakfast every day. Breakfast is solid too! When you stay in the condo you also get access to the gorgeous outdoor pool that overlooks the bay. If you aren't here at sunset then you are missing out! The area also can't be beat. The hotel is above the Lighthouse restaurant and Rusty Rudder. Both great spots for food, drinks and live music. It's right on the bay, across the street from the beach and walkable to a ton of bars, shops and eateries. My stay was mostly filled with pros, but there were also a few cons: -Pool passes are needed and we weren't given any information about this. It was a little confusing when I showed up with a few family members. The pool also has strict rules set by the condo owners. -The room gets an extremely basic cleaning. -If you stay on the side overlooking the Rusty Rudder it will be extremely loud at night. Not the hotels fault, but just something to think about if you are staying with small children. I'm loyal to Hyatts and you can always expect a quality stay. Despite some of the cons, it's a great hotel in a fabulous location. Definitely worth considering if you are looking for a hotel in Dewey.

Yelp
Stayed for a weekend during the summer. Our first night sleeping here, there was sand in both queen beds in the room. My mom and I were sleeping in different beds and both of us could not sleep due to how itchy and scratchy the sand was, on top of feeling like we were sleeping on dirty sheets. When we brought this up to the front desk, they said they could give us new sheets, so we put new sheets on top of these soiled sheets. This wasn't a viable solution but that was the best they could do. I would expect a beach hotel would have better cleaning for sand soiled bedding and would pay more attention to sand but I guess not. Overall this was a pretty disappointing experience. Paying hundreds for two dirty beds was completely unexpected. The only redeemable quality of this hotel was the free EV chargers which we took advantage of for our Tesla and the continental breakfast which was delicious. But it's hard to enjoy anything when you didn't get good sleep the night before.

Yelp
Wry comfortable stay. We were down for the Race. The location is within walking of some great restaurants and bars and the beach. I love the beach in the winter! Check in was a breeze and free breakfast was delightful

David M.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel that's right on the beach and marina areas. No need to drive from there TO the beach! I'm here for a medical convention that started Sunday and since they had a large wedding on Saturday, all rooms were booked so I had to stay overnight at another hotel in Rehoboth Beach. But the food and service here were both good. Highly recommend the Fried Oysters appetizer and Crab Cake Sandwich. If people watching is your thing, you're in the right place as well! Be advised that this is NOT a full service hotel, so no bellman to help with luggage. Carts are available for self-service though.

Yelp
Addendum: I received a friendly, pleasant and respectful phone call from a person claiming to be the business owner/manager of the Hyatt Place, a person called "Alex K". He apologized for the (failed room-switch) inconvenience and offered us 2 free days stay here at the Hyatt. However, I never received an email with the offer or the details. When I went to the front desk, no one even knew who "Alex K" was. The whole situation was very strange, and NO. I will not be staying there again. And I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Ever. My original comments: When we checked in, we were assigned to a room without a real opening window. The so-called "window" in the room was glazed with a screen print of a sandscape. I'm claustrophobic and needed a window. I tried to call the front desk, but the room phone was not working. I finally got thru using my cell phone, and requested a room change. The young man at the desk told me that there were no other rooms available; but that I would get a phone call in the (next) morning to let me know when another room was slated to be available. OK. So I requested that they at least come fix the room phone. On the next morning... no phone call. Then, we were on our way out to the beach and stopped by the desk in the early afternoon. We inquired about the room change (again). The young woman at the desk assured us that she would call me around 4 PM when a room was to be made available. No phone call. We got back around 6 and inquired again (3), but we're told that ... guess what: there are no more rooms available. We then got ready and went out to eat. We returned from the restaurant around 10 PM. When we got off the elevator, guess what we saw: new guests pushing a luggage cart down the hallway, checking into a room with an opening window and a view. Room 324. If someone promises that I will get a phone call the morning, that must be passed on to the next shift. Clearly, no one wrote anything down or passed on any info. On the basis of how this situation was handled, I would never stay here again and I would not recommend this place to a family member, friend or foe. In the hotel business you have one chance to impress your customer enough for them to want to stay there again or give a good recommendation. They failed. The room itself gets a 3 out of 5 stars. However, the front desk service gets 1 out of 5 stars. The phone was eventually fixed, but they dropped the ball- as I requested a room change 3x in all and never received a call, then was told that there were no rooms, yet at 10 PM, we saw new guests with a luggage cart swiping into a room with a view. The "free" breakfast was not very good. Overall rating: 1/5 stars. Never staying here again.

Yelp
The most amazing hotel ever! specifically Nicole, the front end manager! She and this hotel are the most thoughtful, friendly and amazing hotel I've EVER worked with! I will add more details soon!

Yelp
Good location with the beach a short walk away. Breakfast at the hotel is terrific and the Friday happy hour is nice (custom orange crushers). The property is very secure. Guests have one space per room in the garage for parking. Of you are staying here and need quiet(er) sleep, ask to be put on the second floor away from the Rusty Rudder. You can hear the bands playing until the small hours right through your windows otherwise.

Yelp
Went mid-spring break week. Hotel has a great location- the bay in the back- great for seeing sunsets, and across Coastal highway is access to the beach which was not crowded at all. Dewey beach area is quiet at this time, only a few eateries open but anyway it is located around 20min to Lewes, which is busier, plus Cape Henlopen; and around 10-15 min to Rehoboth and Bethany beaches. Ocean city is prob a 1/2 hr away. When we arrived, something had to be fixed in our room. It took about 1/2 hour but it was still 1/2 hr lost when we were about to go out. Full self-serve breakfast was good - scrambled eggs with bacon and french toast on our first morning and sausages and waffles the next. Also oatmeal, breads/baked goods, yogurts, fruit and cereal/cereal bars. Juices, milk, Almond milk and coffees. There were so many people that there weren't enough tables, were running out of plates/utensils (bec they are not disposable-type) but the staff were fast to replenish esp the food. The hotel is undergoing renovations so by our 2nd morning there, there were more seating. Wanted coffee one evening but there was none- not sure if available all day. Free parking. Staff is very pleasant and helpful which is a big plus.

Yelp
Hey, hi, for the start of my review, let's dispel some of those negative Nancys. Let's talk about the person that thought it was rude for housekeeping to not give them towels when asking for them in the hallway. My most recent stay I was informed upon check in that if I had any needs, no matter what it may be, I was to call down to the front desk and ask for them. Or, for my convenience, I was able to text them my wants/needs and in the morning I would open my door to the items enclosed in a plastic bag. Maybe it has something to do with a pandemic, just maybe. So the housekeeper was probably not being rude, but might have been upset because they could have been in trouble for not following guidance set forth so that they can comply with pandemic rules. Just a thought. As for the review with the noise complaint. Not sure what portion of this hotel was the addition, but it is fully expressed that this is not the only thing on property. There are condominiums on property as well. My whole stay here, I didn't hear a single noise from anywhere. In fact I slept like a baby. I could go on about how people are bashing this place because of their shortcomings, but I don't see the point. I came here for a training and had a pleasant stay. The hotel itself is located on the bay side and a block walk to the oceanfront. I had no idea Delaware could look so beautiful. This property excels at making a trip feel like a vacation. The hotel itself has a beautiful deck out back that allows for a bunch of leisure. It also allows for a portion of the bay to be private like for your stay. As one reviewer put it, you get some beautiful sunsets without having to go anywhere. My room was big and spacious. Ample room for storage, sitting, and just being alone. My bed was comfortable, I appreciated the seating area (that also doubles as another bed in the room if needed), and I had no need for room service the whole time I was there. Although I did receive a bag of linen, towels, toiletries, and toilet paper one morning when I stepped outside. There were a few things that could be updated and/or fixed. My closet cabinet stuck at times. Making it hard to open/close properly. The thermostat in the room I don't think worked properly or it could have been user error as well. WiFi was spotty at times, but easily reconnected to it after a momentary lapse. I did take advantage of the room darkening blinds as I had a migraine during my stay and it helped immensely by keeping out all the sunlight. As I said, I was here for a training. I have to say that the rooms to accommodate trainings/gatherings are quite adequate. Each room came equipped with screens and all the capabilities to hold a training and could easily be converted to accommodate any size class you had. It is also located near some great places to pop in for a bite to eat, grab a drink, or do some minimal shopping. Parking is onsite in the garage located under the building. There were more than one elevator banks throughout the property which made for easy access to the rooms and other areas of the hotel. I enjoyed that there was a sand volleyball court nearby as well. Not that I had time to partake in this. Off seasons here seem to be a bit more laidback so that was nice too. Maybe if I were to stay when I am here during peak times, this review would be different.

Yelp
They could actually clean our room. They could also fix the pool I stepped on a rusty nail in the pool and almost punctured the skin. All they gave us were 50 bucks every time we complained. And they could've gave us working utilities in our room. PLEASE if you come to Hyatt hotel don't it is very much not worth the price and go to oc.

Gene K.

Yelp
Big hotel near the water. Somewhat run down but clean. Underground parking and a really good hot breakfast. Friendly staff.

Felice L.

Yelp
The hotel exceeded my expectations. The location is fantastic, right on Coastal Highway, so everywhere I needed to get to was easily accessible. I was here for a girls weekend. The staff couldn't have been more attentive. They set up a bonfire on the beach for us. Everyone I encountered was so very friendly!! We had the hotel cater our meals (there were over 100 of us). The food was excellent! My room was large and very clean. I definitely recommend this hotel!

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Clean hotel, ample parking on site. The best part about this place is the view of the bay. Also a pretty nice breakfast every morning. Would recommend staying if looking for something in the area.

Bloss C.

Yelp
We stayed here for one night just after the start of the Season (May 15th) and found the hotel to be convenient to the beach and not a long walk to the restaurants in town; there were even 3 restaurants on the same block as the hotel. This property is split between hotel rooms and privately owned residences, so the vibe is a little different than a typical hotel. Like a lot of other reviewers, we stayed here because they allowed dogs for a $100 pet fee. There is a little beach area on the bay right on the hotel property that allowed dogs, which was nice. A block away is the beach which is much nicer than the bay and also allows dogs after 5pm. In terms of our room, the beds were comfortable, and it was nice to have a sofa in the room. The room over all was a little dated and worn, but not anything that would absolutely discourage me from staying there again. The door to the bathroom was very annoying and felt a little unsafe. It was a heavy frosted glass door that was very hard to keep closed and lock. They really should replace those doors with something safer. The doors also were a little grimy; it looked like they were hard to clean. Some positive aspects of the room were there was great water pressure in the shower and the included breakfast was one of the best free breakfasts I've had at a hotel in the US. Breakfast included: eggs, sausage, cereals, French toast, 3/4 juices, coffee (not great), and bagels. The bagels were not of the typical barely edible variety found at the free breakfast buffet, there were several different varieties (I had a sesame bagel) and they were good bagels! I also appreciated that there were take-away containers provided in case you wanted to eat in your room. All the staff we interacted with great and I also liked that parking was included in our rate.

Laylan P.

Yelp
We stayed here recently for a trip to Dewey Beach/Rehoboth and it was great. It is centrally located, right across the street from the beach, which was SO convenient! Only 10 minutes to Rehoboth and all of the shops and outlets, so we could get anywhere we needed very easily. Free parking in the parking garage, free hot breakfast every morning! The pool was really nice, wasn't too deep and it had lights in it- perfect for kiddos. The rooms were spacious and clean. For whatever reason, I couldn't sleep well on the beds, but I don't know if that was me or just the pillows! The staff is super nice - always offering recommendations and answers to our questions. The only thing I would change is to add vending machines or a small marketplace to buy things like Tylenol - which wasn't available when we needed it. Other than that, I was very impressed with the hotel and location and enjoyed our vacation very much!

Kelli S.

Yelp
We only spent a night here but would definitely consider coming back if we are in the area again. The location is great, surrounded by two bodies of water: one right outside the hotel and one right across the street. The beach was nice. The lighthouse restaurant is on the same grounds and had friendly, quick service and good food. The inside of hotel was clean and modern. Front desk staff as well as housekeeping were helpful, friendly and attentive. The selection at the continental breakfast was better variety than most. The rooms were spacious and cozy. Parking in the garage was easy and convenient.

Bret O.

Yelp
I was super impressed with the entire staff. It's late summer (which must be a GRIND) and all seem in good spirits and ready/willing to help in any way possible. One guy in blue (didn't get his name) offered my daughter 8 different kids of cereals for a late night snack. And gave us a little cup of milk! We had a few small issues with our suite and Natalia and Katie were on it. They followed up throughout the stay and even emailed after I left. Hospitality in 2022 is harder than ever, but Natalia and her crew made it look easy. Can't wait to get back!!!

Austin J.

Yelp
guest service is dog shit did not even clean the room I had to beg them to even give me towels.

Thomas K.

Yelp
Hyatt Place sent me an email to review the my stay, which I expressed my complaints and asked them to reach out to me. They asked for a good time and never reached out after I gave my information. Then today on Yelp they left a comment on my review. I heave not received a reply from them so it is just posturing. Hence the downgrade from 2 stars to 1. This is officially the worse Hyatt I've stayed at and yes again I am a Hyatt rewards member and have been for years. Until now.

Heather M.

Yelp
This hotel is so nice and has so many amenities! Right on the bay with lounge chairs and tables around all the decks and 2 fire pits that were easy to light! Perfect location easy access to elevators from the parking garage! We enjoyed our wedding anniversary with our pup! Will definitely be back!

Apephanie P.

Yelp
Wife brought me here for a few days. Hotel is nice & modern which I loved. Free hot breakfast was a huge plus! Also free parking in their garage. Dewey beach is literally across the street walking distance. The room is spacious. Even had a pull out bed couch which is perfect if you're sharing a room w others. Free wifi! Cable tv had a lot of channels. I did pack a firestick to watch Netflix but I didn't even need to use it. About two miles from Rehoboth beach. It is a buggy that takes you to/from Rehoboth so you don't have to worry about gas or parking. It only cost a few dollars. We even received a complimentary cocktail bc rooms wasn't ready when we arrived. My only complaint was that we were double charged for our stay. We paid prior to arrival & was charged again our second night there. We were refunded but of course it takes days to go back. It actually still hasn't went back to the card. Other than that hickup stay was perfect. I'll definitely come back.

Virginia S.

Yelp
What an amazing stay. Greeted by the nicest staff. The accommodations far exceeded my expectation. The rooms were meticulous. The kitchen had everything we needed. Spa like bathrooms. The balcony views were breathtaking. What a wonderful stay and intend on making a new tradition for our family.

Tammie D.

Yelp
Decent hotel and amenities. Great location and bay view. Pool is heated great place for kids have something to do. 10min drive from Reboroth beach but worth more than the atlantic sands beach hotel.

Rachel L.

Yelp
I really liked Hyatt Place before. Is my go-to brand all over U.S. no more of that. On the second day a housekeeper was beyond rude to me for politely and kindly asking for towels. She exaggerated a loud sigh and rolled her eyes. The nice young girl with her said yes but I Just said forget it then. She made me feel embarrassed for asking for four towels off her cart. It was a ridiculous overreaction to a very reasonable, benign request. She didn't have to clean my room or anything. She was one foot from my room door. the front desk guy brought me towels after I complained. He and the maid then had a nice convo in Spanish outside my door. They laughed and joked. He must have really stuck up for me....not. They don't really care. All for show. He believed I was being difficult in some way rather than address the real issue: her completely ridiculous response towards A GUEST with a completely normal request. I would rather she say call the front desk or "no." Going to try a home rental next time. The art of customer service is on life support in America. I did it for 15 years. I treated people with dignity all the time. Avoid this place if you are seeking real customer care. Once the manager decided to make it a joke, we saw all I needed to. Took the tip money I set aside for housekeeping and bought drinks for my friends at dinner.

J. L.

Yelp
Specifically, the Condo Units (sometimes for sale, sometimes for rent)... We have enjoyed these property offerings for years, and we decided to step-up to the Condo Units for a change... we went for a Pool-Side Unit (the oft referenced "Infinity Pool"), and are paying an understood premium for this accommodation (all good)... but being 'poolside' on a weekday night, would appear to be a limited arrangement. "Security" deemed the evening "unsafe" for some heat lightning (not ACTUAL lightning) and the pool was "closed" hours early... 1.) we understand "security", no issue there 2.) but common sense weather awareness would deem this a non-consequential event (even for the lawyers)... ANYWAY -- we love it here, and we are people who play by the rules... just feel de-valued when we can't engage w/ all of the benefits we paid for...

Erin W.

Yelp
This venue and hotel provided the perfect place for my friends and I to sign up for an outdoor cycle class. They brought in a local cycle studio to host it. The sunset was AMAZING.

Steph M.

Yelp
fantastic rooms, amazing views, and phenomenal staff!! the best hotel I've ever stayed in!!

Veronica C.

Yelp
My bf decided to give me a nice surprise getaway from home to Delaware (. Luckily, he got a deal on travel zoo for a king size bed at the Hyatt. Now the concern for most guest is, do they honor the deals? Yes they do!! The location for the hotel is only a block away from the beach. It's walking distance to several nice restaurants and stores. Keep in mind some of the places are seasonal. There is a garage located underneath the hotel for both residents and Hyatt guests. Yes, you read correctly. The hotel has condos on the top floor. Some are currently for sale. Therefore there are really no scenic views for Hyatt guests. Parking is FREE. The front desk staff, Karen and Martin were extremely nice and knowledgeable when it comes to finding things to do around the area especially if it's walking distance. I would have to say the only minor problem was the delay in notifying guests when the room is ready or what room guest is actually getting. My bf and I waited for 2 hours until we got at least a room. BUT, Martin was so nice enough to give us a later stay to make up for the delay. The room was main level, street view and next to a pet-friendly room. Yes, you read right. This hotel allows pets for an extra fee. Most of them are on the main floor. If you're allergic and would like to request a room away from pets, make sure to notify the front desk. Our was nice and clean. We didn't mind the street view because we later learned there is no scenic view. The king size was soo comfortable and we had a sitting area with a bed sofa that was too comfortable for additional guests. A TV, mini fridge, and coffee maker with complimentary tea and coffee was included in the room. The bathroom sliding doors do not, I repeat, do not lock. The way it was installed was poorly done. Some reviewers here stand true their words. Overall, the bathroom was clean and I completely fell in love the shower head. It was like spa shower head feel...and the reason why I say this...ha I encounter some difficult showers! haha Breakfast is included. It's a breakfast buffet-style. They vary by day- scrambled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, sliced ham, bacon, waffles, muffins, bagels, croissant, sausages, biscuits, french toast, cereal, fresh fruits (seasonal) to name a few. Vegetarian dishes is upon request. Breakfast is served in the atrium and there are several flat screen TV to view the news. Hotel amenities: Gym is small but definitely have what is needed, treadmill, weights, bicycle and complimentary towels and water. It's located by the pool on the main floor. Pool has salt water and tends to get crowded with families during the day time however as the sun sets, the crowd dies down. Business office located by the front desk. Only 2 computers. Sitting area in the main lobby includes small coffee tables. It's very peaceful. Bar area closes early as 11pm. It's small and can fit 6 guest total. For additional seating, you have to hang out in the atrium...which is still 3 ft away from each other. They don't really specify the times any where, so please be aware of the times by just asking when they open and the last call. My boyfriend and I were disappointed because on the menu it did not specify the bar time, only the kitchen. We assume the bar was still open. Bottom Line Pros: Breakfast included. Beach is 5 minutes. Free parking. Free WiFi. Walking distance to restaurants. Cons: Dog and children noises. Early closings. Messy breakfast lines...no one is really monitoring guests. Some restaurants are seasonal therefore closed and would need to walk further. Room delays even if you called ahead of time. Overall- I would still come here.

Yelp
Upon checking in, there was a cheese plate and wine available that was complementary. I suggest trying the Chardonnay, it had a very Oaky for quality. The hotel is on the strip, with the bay behind you and the ocean on the other side. It takes about five minutes to walk to the beach. Warning, dogs are not allowed until 5 PM during the Labor Day season. That is comfortable, but parking is somewhat limited and very tight. Security is very well-controlled at this hotel. There is a saltwater pool, but I haven't tried it yet.

Yelp
I had an overall good experience at this hotel. The rooms are nice, the beds are comfy, the bathrooms are modern, the shower is roomy, breakfast is included with your stay, it's conveniently located, and it's dog-friendly. We had a room overlooking the pool. Even though I slept the closest to the pool, it wasn't a noise issue at all. I also found the staff to be very accommodating - shoutout to the guy who agreed to hold my dog while I grabbed breakfast (since dogs aren't allowed in that area and I didn't know) when my friends were still drunkenly asleep in the room. The negative was that we were charged a $75 "pet cleaning fee" even though my dog definitely didn't make a mess. He didn't use the bathroom in the room or anywhere the staff would have to clean, he didn't damage anything, he didn't make any noise, and he isn't much of a shedder. The sand from the beach getting tracked into this hotel seems like it would warrant a cleaning fee way before my dog. I'm sure it was somewhere in the fine print, but my friend booked the room and did the check in/check out. I'm sure many dogs *do* make a mess, but I wish they would charge this on a case-by-case basis, especially for well-behaved dog guests. :(

Yelp
We spent a week at the Hyatt Dewey Beach and I wanted to give it a little time before reviewing so that the pluses and minuses would rise to the forefront. Know before going to the area that Dewey Beach is the party town; not best for laid back families. That said, this is probably the best hotel in Dewey. We were staying here because of a conference. Parking is convenient to a point (spaces narrow, ramps unlit, sidewalks around uneven, most of the garage is reserved condo parking). We saw many drivers have trouble navigating the garage; many went through the ADA spaces because the paint is faded and it looks like a pass-through area. Also the garage flooded but that may have been due to storm intensity. Jolly Trolley stop is convenient to the hotel. There's also good dining within walking distance but little family dining (read: bars without children's menus). Beach is also a convenient walk, about a block or two away. The pool is fine. It's not the salt water treat that it's promoted as. It's 3 1/2' deep at its deepest. Good for families, young kids, and swimmers with limited mobility (there's an ADA pool lift). Not so good in that I saw a couple having sex in the corner (yes really but they did take it to the shower to finish) on our first day or that we encountered a group of women with open glass bottles of Corona on our last day. Make of those observations what you will. At least the woman carrying the inflatable penis pool toy through the parking garage only took it to the beach. Noise level was surprisingly quiet in the evening and overnight. I guarantee there's a fair amount of partying that happens here, given the messages written in the windows, aforementioned inflatables, etc. But the noise that had us -- several hotel guests -- out in the hallways in alarm was construction noise. It was so loud that we though it was some kind of an alarm going off and we were shouting over it trying to figure out what it was. We did receive notice that construction was happening at the back of the hotel. We didn't know there would literally be jackhammering over our heads at noon. We had our choice of two rooms on check-in: one near registration or the ADA room. We chose the ADA room so I can tell you what the ADA rooms are like. Water pressure is next to nothing. When relying on water pressure to help someone wash who's using the shower head and the pull-out seat, you need some pressure. When I held the nozzle so water pointed straight up, it rose about an inch (two fingers). The bathroom is very navigable and has support bars all around, including two sides of the roll-in shower (the third wall has the pull-down seat, which is quite wide). The floor has a good grip to it; more hotel bathrooms should have floors like this. The room had a bed (king or queen, not sure which) and a pull-out sofa bed. For a room reserved for 4 people, it was pretty low-end to have half our party sleeping in a hideaway. The window side of the bed is not ADA accessible. The suite side definitely is accessible, as is the armless sectional sofa. "Coffee table" is a leather-like ottoman. The bar in the armoire is at standard height, not ADA accessible for hanging clothing. It's also so close to the bed that opening it with a wheelchair or other mobility device in the area will be a trick. The biggest minus to the room might seem minor but it's not: privacy. There are no sheers on the windows. There is a light-blocking blind. So you have to choose: sunlight or privacy. So if you want to get dressed to go to the beach, either do it by lamplight or give the neighbors a show. This also meant that filtered sunlight as a wake-up is sacrificed if you wish to go to sleep with your blind pulled. Some rooms look out onto the pool; while using the pool, you can watch the guests in those rooms. We don't know about the dining on-site. My husband asked about the 24/7 Gallery Menu when we checked in and was told that they "didn't have it." When he clarified, it was reiterated that we could buy sandwiches and pastries out of a case as well as bottled drinks (water: $2.50). I don't know what the 24/7 Gallery Menu, which was in our room as well as advertised by Hyatt, is supposed to be but according to the front desk that night, it was a cold pre-made sandwich in a plastic box. We had unsecured wifi from Sunday to Thursday. Overnight Thursday, someone flipped a switch and we had to provide room number and last name. Before that, totally unsecured. Talk around the conference was that those who didn't stay at the Hyatt were glad they hadn't and some of those who did (including us) said they wouldn't be coming a second time. It's a step up from the motels around the area (it may be the only interior corridor lodging in Dewey) but when there are some truly stunning hotels that really are four- and five-star at a comparable price, weigh your pros and cons and decide where your priorities lie.

Yelp
Do not stay here if you are allergic to dogs. I did not think to say something when I booked our room because I have never had this problem before. I personally did not bring a pet but was put in a pet friendly room, which I was not even aware of. Allergies bothered me the whole stay. If i did not bring a pet, why couldnt I have just automatically been put in a room where no pets are allowed? Pro of this hotel: 2 minute walk to beach. Over 4 weeks later still havent received a call

Yelp
The cleaning pet fee is $100. No matter if you dog is clean or not. The bedding is not good and disappointing for a Hyatt hotel. I'm used to crisp sheets. The sheets were thin and wrinkled. It looked uncleaned so much so that I had to ask the front desk to change my sheets thinking it was not done. After the attendant changed the sheets, I realized that they had bad quality bedding. it is nicely located. I would recommend the management to invest in quality bedding and revise the pet fee. I love Kimpton hôtels. Dog friendly and classy.

Yelp
We will definitely miss going to Dewey beach on hot summer days. Hyatt Place Dewey Beach is an excellent option to stay at if you preferred to visit Dewey Beach over Rehoboth or Lewes. - Parking can be hectic, so try to be there early. Very limited space (because it's busy) and loud and hot AC units are sitting together in the lot - Spacious and clean rooms. The area can get rather pricey during the peak season ($ 300~500 per night or so), but compared to a lot of other hotels in the area, Hyatt Place has that pleasantly clean and new modern feel. - Walking distance to the beach. You literally cross one street and there's the beautiful beach! - Breakfast is standard, but if you have kids, it can be a good option. - The indoor pool is small, but it's still fun to have. Dewey beach was personally my favorite beach (despite its sometimes ridiculously high tides), and I really enjoyed staying here. I would recommend it. Tip: During offseasons, Travelzoo sometimes offers discount room rates.

Yelp
My fiancé and I stayed here for one night while visiting the area for a short get away. It was during the off season so we were able to get a very reasonable rate of around $100. Parking is convenient as a parking garage is attached to the building. It's free in/out access as long as you have a paper from the front desk viewable on your dash. Hyatt offers online check in/out so it helps to speed up the process. Check in was quick with the front desk employees very friendly and inviting. Our room was on the top floor (3rd). It was very clean and spacious. The one weird thing is we had a giant window in our room that faced into the hotel. We could see the indoor pool and breakfast area. I wish we had an outdoor view but for our one night stay this was just fine. The front desk area also sells candy, snacks and drinks as there are no vending machines. It's all reasonably priced and very convenient. This same area also offers alcoholic beverages. Late one night we enjoyed wine, an old fashioned, a peanut butter cookie and a cinnamon bun for $23. We felt this was a pretty good deal. Breakfast the next morning included coffee and Tazo teas. Oatmeal with a lot of toppings, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, waffles, fresh fruit, milk, almond milk and juices. One of the nicer free buffet breakfasts I've seen. Breakfast is served from 7-10am. The seating area includes TVs and lots of seating options. We had an excellent stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. Off season rates start at around $100 but peak season/days can go up to around $350 a night.

Yelp
Great option for the Rehoboth Beach Marathon!! I didn't realize just how easy it was to get to the start line from here! Took us under ten minutes and we easily found a spot where I was able to stay warm in the car until only ten minutes before the race began!! But anyways, the hotel itself was very nice. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. I was unable to eat the breakfast, but my mom and fiancé really enjoyed it they said. My only two complaints are the bathroom door was filthy and really needed a cleaning. The door was this weird glass so I think that makes it hard to clean. Also, as a runner in a huge race the next day I should've asked not to be put on the bottom floor so close to the front desk. It was a little noisy. :( however I still slept well all things considered. And even though I didn't bring my fur baby this time around, this hotel is dog friendly which is great to know for the future :)

Yelp
We stayed here during the 2019 4th of July weekend (Thursday thru Sunday), for about $400/night (all charges, taxes, ect. included), breakfast and parking is free for guests (they have a few Tesla Turbocharging stations). The hotel includes both hotel rooms (on the first three floors) and apartments. The location is excelent, right on Coastal hwy, right on the bayside beach and about a block and a half from the ocean side beach; all Dewey Beach major restaurants, bars, and venues are within 3-4 blocks. The Jolly-Trolley, a shuttle that takes you on a 10 min drive to Rehoboth Beach ($3 one way, $5 round trip), has its last stop just at the hotel. The building itself is undergoing an extensive remodeling and expansion, the mockup looks great! The inside layout of the hotel is a bit of a labyrinth, but not difficult to navigate once you walk it once or twice. The room we had (King Bedroom suite) was very spacious and modern; it had a living room area with a sofa-bed, coffee maker, minifridge, iron and board (no microwave). The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful! Jeffrey checked us in and gave us a really good rundown (with a map) of all the good places around to have fun. I am giving it four stars, and not five, because the room did have some weird noises at night (I am guessing the building structural frame is still not fully tied-up, so it still sways a bit with the guests load), the bathroom sink was slow draining (not really an issue, but it will accumulate water while you brush your teeth), the toilet was a little loose (tho not leaking), and, since this is a pet friendly hotel, we heard some barking/howling a few times some of the nights. Overall, this is an excellent choice at a reasonable price.

Yelp
We went to the new Lighthouse restaurant at the Hyatt this past Sunday. Have heard great things about it but haven't been since it opened. My husband had the shrimp tacos and I had the risotto with scallops. It was the best meal we have had it quite some time. What really made the evening enjoyable was Chris the bartender. He was entertaining the whole time. He had the whole bar laughing and talking to each other. It felt like we were at "Cheers"! What a great time. We will be back often this Fall!!!!!

Yelp
If I could give them 10 stars I would! We held my daughters wedding here on June 4th and it was absolutely amazing. Everyone here went over and above everything they could to make us feel like no matter what we asked, it was no problem at all. They went out of their way to accommodate us and turned my daughters wedding in to an event we will all remember the rest of our lives. This is the most amazing venue anywhere here at the Delaware beaches and we would highly recommend having your event here! The food was incredible and we have had several of our guests reach out to tell us it was one of the best weddings they have ever attended! I want to personally thank Joe Payne, Lisa Wilgus, Lexi Ciccioni, Mae Belk, Bella Gatto and Hannah Smith for everything they did to make this an amazing day! My daughter and son in law were smiling all day long and it made my wife and I very happy to know they were happy! Thank you all!!

Yelp
Let me preface this by saying that I almost never give 1 star reviews. The experience needs to be utterly awful and this most recent stay fits the bill. This is such a shame because for years we had been staying at Hyatt Regency properties all over the country, but after this experience we will never stay at a Hyatt property again. We were moving from Miami to Philadelphia and this property was our last stop on a long trip. Weeks in advance we called and said we were moving with our cat and the lady we spoke to told us it would be fine since the location is pet friendly. So to our surprise when we checked in the assistant manager said we weren't allowed to stay. He was so rude about it that he made my wife cry and EMBARRASSED her in front a room full of people. There was no empathy, just straight rudeness. We travel with our cat everywhere and stayed with her at Hyatt Regency properties all over the country (Miami, NY, San Francisco, Pittsburgh) and our family and cat have always been made to feel welcome at those properties. Granted, Dewey Beach isn't as cosmopolitan of a location, but that is no excuse to be rude to your guests. Finally, after much requesting the assistant manager begrudgingly allowed us to speak to the general manager. After explaining to the GM that we had talked to someone beforehand and that the website said that the property was pet friendly he finally let us stay, but still made us feel like we were some sort of inconvenience. Mind you this whole experience at the front desk took over half an hour. When we got to our room there were 5 stains all over the carpet where previous dogs had dumped an peed. We were so upset that we called the corporate offices and they explained to us that this never should have happened and that the managers here definitely weren't showing the customer service that they expect from Hyatt employees. But the damage was already done, if we were treated like this at this property then surely other people are treated like this also. A regional manager really needs to get to this location ASAP just to witness the way their employees talk to and treat their guests. Finally, this location charged our credit card twice! I don't know if they are trying to run some sort of a scam, but if we weren't as diligent in checking our statement we would have missed this. When we called the location to see what this was all about Jeffery was extremely rude and tried to tell us it was because we used two different credit cards (not true and also makes no sense). Again, we had to call the corporate office and the lady there again told us that this should not have been handled this way and we should never have been spoken to like that. For years Hyatt had maintained our expectations and I had been buying stock in the company, but after these experiences I sold them all off. Essentially, if locations are treating customers like this then it must be a trend in the overall company. From now on instead of staying between Hyatts and Kimpton properties we will be exclusively using Kimpton who truly love pets and the guests who treat their pets like family.

Yelp
First time to Dewey Beach and it did not disappoint. Jeffrey was super helpful at check in and gave great suggestions on how to experience the area. Breakfast was warm and filling! And a short walk to the beach! Great deck outside to watch the sunset!

Yelp
Stayed here while attending the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival. The hotel was located a stones throw from the venue where the concerts were being held, which meant l could wear my heels! Anywhoo, we arrived and proceeded to the front desk for check-in. The clerk was pleasant and we were directed to our room. The room was clean, free of bed bugs. There was a mini fridge and coffee maker. The room had a view that overlooked the parking area. There was complimentary breakfast (which was just okay, nothing spectacular), and they had an evening wine and cheese tasting. Because of the jazz festival and construction going on, there was only valet parking available, which was free (with tipping, of course appreciated). There was an exercise room, indoor pool and laundry services available in addition to a coffee bar that sold Starbucks Coffee, salads sandwiches and the like. The adjacent bar area also offered drinks outside of happy hour for a fee. All in all a nice place to stay that is a very short walk to the beach.

Yelp
We had a fabulous time at the Hyatt Place! We were pleasantly surprised by the proximity to the beach as well as local establishments. Upon entering, we were blown away by how accommodating everyone was for us and our two dogs (the 1x $75 cleaning fee for the dogs was so reasonable!) Check in and parking were also a breeze, the front desk provided many recommendations, including ones that were dog friendly. We were placed in a very spacious room (I think the King Suite?) by the exit so our dogs could get out easily to go to the bathroom or for walks. The room included a sort of TV area with a sofa with plenty of room for everyone/every dog to be comfortable during the stay! It was a blast!

Yelp
Had a wonderful time at this location and the family enjoyed themselves as well. Last minute check-in was handled very nicely with the front desk staff and they were pretty friendly. Parking was free and right underneath the hotel. Not underground, but street level which was awesome. There were plenty of spaces, but don't park in the numbered spots because those are for the tenants in the condos on the top floor. The rooms were clean, but the view was of the inside facing the dining room. So no view of Boardwalk or Ocean or even a trash can outside, booooo! The other drawback was that the bathroom had just a walk-in shower, no tub at all and very hard to keep the entire bathroom floor dry. I guess that is because you are at the beach and with sand it is easier to clean.

Yelp
Wonderful hotel, restaurant has great food and drinks. Hotel staff was excellent. Natalia and Katie were very kind and polite. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Yelp
This place is horrible. Granted it's starboard opening weekend so it's always a little hectic but the experience has been terrible. The first issue was housekeeping. It's now 4:00 pm and even though I saw and overheard housekeeping two doors down at 2:30pm saying they had two more dirty rooms they still haven't made it to ours. (Apparently they were already done when I called downstairs so I guess we weren't going to get any assistance). When I called the front desk the man said he would see if "they're still here" after asking me almost accusingly if I had a do not disturb sign on the door (which I did not btw). The second issue is the phone, you would have to be Einstein himself to work it correctly. No matter what button I push, it just gives a dial tone so I had to google the hotel number and call from my phone to reach someone. I'm aware it's a Hyatt but I'm sure I would've received better service at a motel 6 at this point. Just to double down on the bad experience it's now been 20 minutes since I called the desk and we're still waiting for housekeeping so that we can at least have an empty trash can to use. Update** the assistant manager Colin was nice enough to call the room directly (i'm guessing the phone worked for incoming calls) and he apologized for the inconvenience and seemed sincerely interested in rectifying the issue. Thank you!

Jo M.

Yelp
Granted it is the off season. But, we could not have been more pleased with the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the hotel and our overall stay. We were told upon arrival that housekeeping would not be entering our room during our two night stay due to COVID which we appreciated, but were also assured if we needed anything to call the front desk and it would be brought to us immediately. The facility clearly observed and followed all appropriate measures of social distancing, mask wearing and cleaning protocols. The location is perfect. Within walking distance of great restaurants, a block to the beach and right on the bay you couldn't ask for a better place to stay. I would recommended to anyone looking for a weekend getaway. We couldn't have felt more safe during these trying times of the pandemic when you need a break from your home. I can't wait to visit again.

Mark B.

Yelp
Great location in Dewey. Friendly staff all around. Very clean and new. Amenities include under-roof garage parking, free hot breakfast, indoor pool, and fitness area. Walking distance to many great restaurants in the area. Expensive but you can't beat the hotel being right on the bay and the ocean is just across the street.
