Had an outstanding 2-night stay. Hyatt loyalty status was repeatedly recognized. Fresh interior design in all areas. Clean room. Early check-in accommodated without hesitation. Great location next to the largest subway station in Montreal for those using public transit. Walkable to all the desirable neighborhoods. Breakfast was the only meh aspect, but the staff was great. I’d also highlight that coach buses regularly dump dozens and dozens of tourists here, so it’ll suffer from some swarming at times, but I don’t blame the hotel for taking the business. Overall, a great value; my wife and I spend a subsequent night at a $500 property in town and kept making unfavorable comparisons to this hotel.

Google
Overall a very decent hotel in a nice location. THE GOOD - Location is perfect. Downtown, 1 minute walk from the metro - The rooms are nice with a modern look - There is a nice pool, although it will most likely always be filled with crazy kids, so don't expect some quiet time. But it's perfect for families and kids. There is also a nice sauna. - The breakfast buffet is pretty decent. Not worth buying if it's not included in your reservation though, in my opinion - The gym is relatively small but has everything you need to do a decent workout. - Staff is very nice - Pet-friendly - The hotel as a whole looks very nice THE BAD - The hotel parking has a very low ceiling, so many vehicles won't fit - It's next to a park where there is a lot of music (which stops at 11), but if you need to go to bed early, you will definitely hear it - You can hear everything happening in the hallway

I struggled with the location of this particular hotel because it was on the lower end of Saint Catherine Street. It was very close to the Metro which was handy and we were able to take the metro to pretty much anywhere we needed to go. Area is surrounded by lots of questionable activities per se. Utilized the pool space quite a bit which was pretty neat as they have Cabana seating for the whole family. The pool is kind of small but entertaining for kids for sure. Front desk service is top notch and is very helpful and kind. Hotel lobby area is also really clean organized and modern. Lots of places to sit. Hotel restaurant is pretty good. A really good breakfast spread.

Our stay at Hyatt Place Montreal was pleasant and better than expected. We checked in quite late (around 9pm) and there was a huge tour group right before us, but the front desk lady Maya was welcoming and friendly when helping us. She explained everything in details. Parking is available for daily fee, it gets filled up quickly though and be careful that the garage ceiling is low. Almost got scratched when opining my trunk (mid-size SUV). Our room was a 2-queen on higher floor, spacious and had nice view. Cleanliness is decent, could be better because if you look closer there’s still dirt some corners. Although the neighbourhood can be chaotic, it’s convenient to get around with the metro close by. Overall decent for the price.

Google
Transit location could not be more convenient, with direct underground access to all Metro directions. Our room was clean with a great view of the city/mountain. The pool was clean and very refreshing. The square just outside had many unique neighborhood events each day, so it was a really great way to experience the summer evenings. Would definitely return

Google
I gave 4 stars because, while the overall experience was good, the service left something to be desired. I requested more coffee pods twice, and both times they said someone would bring them “right away” — but no one ever came. That said, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and Hamad at the concierge desk was friendly and genuinely helpful. The location is great, just a short walk from the subway entrance, which made getting around very convenient. The pool was a bit too cold for my taste, but the sauna was excellent and a nice way to unwind. Breakfast was decent — nothing special, but enough to start the day. Overall, a good stay, but the service could definitely use some improvement.

Google
Our stay at Hyatt Place Montreal Downtown has been a mixed experience. The hotel is conveniently located, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. However, we were very disappointed with the breakfast service. When we arrived during the breakfast hours, we were told the breakfast was canceled because they had run out of food. This was especially frustrating since we had prepaid for it. On a trip, especially with kids, planning is essential, which is why many of us choose to prepay for breakfasts. Throughout my life, I have prepaid and enjoyed breakfasts smoothly across various hotel chains. I find this experience extremely unusual, unprofessional, and indicative of poor planning. The situation was handled poorly, and we expected better communication and service from a Hyatt property.

Google
Great front desk staff. Decent breakfast. The hotel is literally a minute’s walk from Berri‑UQAM station which was amazing (attached to station). Neighboring area is not the most posh - some great food options in the area but a little sketchy during the day. Spotless, spacious rooms, modern minimalist design, and comfy beds

Yelp
Great location in downtown Montreal, super convenient with underground parking right beside the hotel entrance. Our room was clean and modern, equipped with a small fridge and a Nespresso OriginalLine machine, which was a nice touch. The security system is solid; you need your room key to access the elevators, which made us feel safe. There's also a Starbucks just a minute away inside the hotel, and an EV charging spot right across the street, very convenient! Only downside was the service. When we checked in, we noticed the fridge was leaking water. I informed the staff, but there was no apology, just a brief "we'll send someone to fix it." Unfortunately, when we returned to our room, nothing had been done, and the fridge still wasn't working at all. Disappointing follow-up, especially for a hotel of this standard. Overall, still a comfortable stay, but service could definitely be improved

Yelp
over all as in my previous review I would not recommend this hotel for several reasons first the location next to a park with homeless and tents and pot smokers. second the staff a the front desk not friendly or helpful. Gave us what I would call bad directions. as for the Breakfast it was ok not good.

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel last month, and I cannot recommend it. My room was burglarized, and my passport and some other belongings were stolen from my closed luggage. The manager confirmed this robbery as the break-in was caught on video, but could not explain how a man entered my room without a hotel key. I filed a report with the police, was over an hour late to the event I was in Montreal for, and had the stress of getting back into the US without my passport. I had to purchase credit monitoring, replace lost items, and file for a new passport, and I am still worried about the safety of my credit and identity. On top of all this, the hotel has declined to reimburse me. (My friends and I were not even given a new room!). I can't help but think this was an inside job. Hard no on recommending this hotel.

Yelp
This past weekend the hotel hosted a bunch of kids for the water polo finals. With all the mayhem, the hotel was running pretty well. Check-in was a breeze. We got a double queen through Orbitz and the room was spacious and comfortable. You get a mini fridge and a Nespresso coffee maker. We had a nice view from the 16th floor of Montreal from Mount Royal to the right to the St Lawrence river to the left. Free breakfast on the Mezzanine included with our room - your typical eggs, sausage/ham, hash-browns/potatoes, and waffles, plus continental items. Yogurt was very yummy too, better than American ones. Although breakfast ends at 9:30 or 10am depending on the day, they still tried to refill the eggs and potatoes at the last minute. The hotel is located within walking distance of the metro station, which is a connection point for multiple lines. If you're new, opt for paper passes than can hold 2 tickets. Every person needs their own pass. Little kids are free, just check with the metro rep. There is parking on site for about $26/day, free to go in and out throughout the day. Height is restricted so check with hotel if your SUV can fit. Entrance is next to hotel, don't worry, as soon as you get close to the doors, they'll auto open. The swimming pool is warm and a good size. There is a sauna too. The hotel also has a Starbucks and in the back of the lobby, you get access to the shopping mall next door, including a full-functioning grocery store with everything your local one has. The only gripe is that the elevators kept stopping at each floor when there was so many people staying there.

Yelp
First time to Montreal. We enjoyed our vacation overall. For this hotel: Pros Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Somewhat close proximity to areas we wanted to visit. Beds and rooms overall were very nice and clean. Cons The area is pretty sketchy. We first laughed at other reviewers who said it is a little scary at night, with homeless smoking crack. However, sure enough, a couple times we came out of the hotel doors and there were some scary people smoking crack with the glass pipes and everything. The doors and elevators are designed so you have to scan your room card and can only go to the floor your room is on. The security is necessary, but annoying. The breakfast sucked. Again, the staff were very good at keeping the place clean, but the cheap food was bad. The eggs were the WORST version of powdered eggs I have ever tried to taste. Both mornings they were unedible. This is management trying to save money, not the workers fault. The fruit was unripe. The parking garage is so small it is scary to use. You must be VERY skilled as a driver to navigate the turns and parking places or you will damage your car. The ceiling is so low, you must must walk bent over or you will hit your head. If you let the rear hatch of your car open fully, it will hit the ceiling of the garage. I've never seen this before. I can't believe from a safety standpoint that this is allowable. I doubt this is code. Finally, the worst part and the reason why we won't return is the air conditioning. The rooms have thermostats that you can turn down to 18C, but the rooms never get cooler than 22C. In fact, after complaining and being moved to a different room, they said that the AC is set to never get cooler than 21C. Again, not the workers fault. This is clearly management trying to save money, but it made the rooms stuffy and uncomfortable at night when trying to sleep. Over $200 a night and you can't even be comfortable in the room. I bet the owners/managers have offices in the building that are cooler. The lobby is certainly cooler than the rooms. Finally, know that the cost of the rooms is not what you first expect. Our room was listed as $166 a night, but after fees, taxes and parking it is really around $225 a night. Not a bad place, but we won't return.

Yelp
The place looks like Hyatt, but service was not as exceptional as it normally is. Location was better at Hyatt Centric. This one had a Starbucks and supermarket attached. Rooms were clean and staff seemed indifferent, not as friendly as other Hyatt.

Yelp
This hotel is 1 month old!! Not sure why the bad review but just stayed here for girls trip this week. We had no issues. The rooms: new! Elevators are a little slow, busy. Lobby is shiny. Breakfast is very fast and clean. I don't eat much in the morning but it was perfect for my girlfriend who needs food. And for me: the yogurt bar with all the fruits and homemade fruit compotes. I hated the hot food but I'm just picky af. The rooms: nespresso bar, outlets everywhere. Climate control, shades, comfortable bed. All are there. I enjoy the views. My girlfriend enjoyed the darkness of the shades. We were opposite in one room. Front desk: most I met were super nice: except one guy. Kind of douchy! As a Hyatt globalist, my perks are pretty good. It includes water bottles daily. The guy ( young Asian guy I believe) I spoke on the phone was quite rude. "We charge for the water. No shit! But you're enrolled in the globalist. You're not a globalist. I need to confirm before I can send you water. I'll call back" Never called back. I got my water anyway. No apologies. Asked for decaf nespresso pots, got a caffeinated ones. When I called back.. oh yea, meant to call you. We are out of decaf. Won't get them in for a week. Like really?? Are you going on foot??? Ridiculous! I can see why the bad review. That one dude ruins the whole stay!! There was no mentioned or apology for that whole you're not a globalist part. I guess he found out! I was initially starting this as 4 stars but now writing about him, I'm subtracting 1 star. He was just that rude!! Overall, I like the closeness to the old town Montreal. We walked everywhere till we can't. Park across the street had concerts everyday during our stay. Film festival was a block down. Jazz festival was also a few blocks down. A lot going on. Also, a lot of homeless people at night but hotel has a security. Love the pool and glass sauna! Such a nice view. Gym was small but efficient! There was a wedding during our stay. Could almost easily crashed :D They had it so beautifully! Overall, brand new hotel. Great location, friendly staff! 4 stars! Minus 1 star for that front desk person who doesn't know what he was doing but also rude about it!!! Whomp.

Yelp
Nice accommodations with a great view of the city and Mont Royal from the 20th floor. The breakfast buffet was well-stocked and tended, and then we were off to tour the city for most of the day. The location was close to a metro but other parts of the city were within easy walking distance. One night, we walked to Chinatown for dinner. Back at the hotel, my family used the pool and enjoyed it. We never went to the lounge but maybe next time...

Yelp
I had a very rude check in experience with Hannah. I was suppose to stay 3 nights but after the experience I cut my stay short to 1 night. Was glad to leave. Even the two front desk agents who worked on the side of her were shocked at how rude she was and offered to help. The manager was almost non existent. Just sat in the back and never made an appearance. Hyatt needs to make a clean sweep here. The rooms are very nicely appointed, but noisy. You can hear people walking above you. Evidently the renovation ripped out a lot of the sound proofing between the floors and rooms. I remember really enjoying staying at the former Hotel Gouverneur. It is too bad they sold out.

Andrea T.

Yelp
I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Though it appears clean and nice it's not up to the normal Hyatt standard. Our room had no hot water despite multiple attempts to have this fixed. The tv randomly stopped working and the elevators were functioning at half capacity. The hotel staff was rude especially front desk staff who discriminate against people with disabilities. If you have a disability there is no accessible parking . Hotel doesn't take accountability and own their errors this is a branded Hyatt hotel sub par

Yelp
Nice hotel. Good breakfast buffet. Clean rooms. Great view from our room on 27th fl. Would definitely stay again.

Yelp
My husband and I are Hyatt loyalists (globalists) and have stayed at many different brands over the last 15 years. This is a new favorite! It felt more upscale than the typical Hyatt Place-more like a Regency or a Grand Hyatt. It is a new high rise with spectacular views of the city. The buffet breakfast was offered in an actual restaurant (usually Hyatt places are more cafeteria-style breakfast). The cleaning staff is amazing. We saw (on more than one occasion) the cleaning staff washing floors, windows in each room and even the front of the dressers. Everything felt pristine. The front desk staff was so friendly and helpful, as was everyone we encountered. We really were pleasantly surprised and would love to go back.

Yelp
Hyatt Place Montreal "Not Ready for Primetime" NOT RECOMMENDED - (yet) T.L.D.R. Pros: - Nicely renovated room - Substantial breakfast included - Nice view from the 28th floor Cons: - Poor check-in process - No internet access for several hours after check-in - Multiple elevator problems! - Inconsistent housekeeping - Construction (dragging, drilling, banging) directly above my room, and starting daily at 6:00 AM!!! -Mediocre response when trying to address these concerns. Background: I am in Montreal for 8 nights. I am here for a very full conference at UQÀM, with activities from morning to 21h00 or 22h00 every day. I travelled by car and have lots of "stuff" with me. Friday, August 8, 2022 Check-in around 15h00. There were people ahead of me and, soon after, people waiting behind me. There were three people behind the desk. Only one of them was actually working. The other two were simply "observing". When it was finally my turn, the clerk did not know whether to collect a credit card from me. She went to find someone to ask. She was gone for much too long for such a simple question. During that time people would come up to the desk to ask questions, but the two observers behind the desk could only respond that they were "in training" and therefore could not help. Finally, the process ended and I went to the elevators. I pushed the button and waited. Nothing happened. The elevators did not open. Eventually, a guest arrived and pointed out that the button I pushed was not the correct one. I was supposed to have pushed a button next to a door that in no way looked like the correct button to push. Getting in the elevator, I pushed the button to my floor. Nothing happened. The guest then showed me how to hold my key card against a small piece of colored glass found below the room buttons. I had to wait until the colored lights turned green (not an instantaneous process) and then select the floor. All of this was too much for a "higher class" hotel. Arriving in my room, I attempted to connect to the internet. No luck. I was repeatedly asked for an access code. I called the front desk and I was informed that there was a problem with internet access, that it was being reset, and that it should be back on in a few minutes. LOL! Those few minutes turned into hours...! The weather was extremely hot during my first few days in Montreal. The room was a bit warm. I attempted to adjust the temperature using the control on the wall. I set it to 19 degrees. The room never dipped below 23. To be fair, I was able to get the room down to 22, later in the week, once the weather cooled. Not a great first day at the Hyatt. Saturday, August 6, 2022 I read that it is the policy of Hyatt to check rooms every day. I was gone for most of the day. The room was made up, but they left no washcloths. Why? This is a very minor issue, but it irked me because it simply added to my already poor impression of the hotel. Sunday, August 7, 2022 Another busy day. Because of the heat, I had showered a couple of times on Saturday. Including my Sunday morning shower, I ended up leaving all of my towels on the floor for replacement. Guess what? The room was never made up!! I returned late on Sunday to find no clean towels and my big pile still on the bathroom floor. Damn!! What am I paying for? Monday, August 8, 2022. About 6h00 I was awakened by what sounded like someone dragging furniture across the room above me. This was followed by things being dropped on the floor and eventually drilling and pounding. Yep! The floor above me was under construction! What a treat! It is 6:00 AM for crying out loud! Knowing that a guest was to be here for eight nights, the management of this hotel chose to put me in a room directly below a room under construction. Thank you. After a long morning of walking, I returned to my room around 13h00. The room had been made up - thank goodness! But... there was no soap. They had even taken the soap away from the sink and the shower without replacing them! I could not understand this. At this point, I feel like I am part of some sort of psychological experiment. None of this makes sense. Tuesday, August 9, 2022 Up again at 6:00. This morning, I talk to the front desk about what is happening on the 29th floor. Sure enough, there is construction taking place on the 29th and 30th floors. The clerk apologizes and offers me two free drinks at the bar. I told her that I did not want anything other than to understand what my options were. She insisted that I take the drink coupons. I felt insulted. She then told me that she did not have any open rooms ,but that if I came back in the afternoon she might be able to find me a room on a lower floor. She clarified that I might still be able to hear the construction through the vents even if I moved to a lower floor. How sweet! Much more to tell... but Yelp is cutting me off. Stay tuned....

Yelp
Horrible costumer service. The only good things are the cleaning service and the breakfast, but apart from that it is awful. The hotel is located in a horrible neighborhood, full of people smoking, also really far from any touristic places. The costumer service was absolutely horrible, extremely rude and disrespectful. I do not recommend at all.
