When we arrived, someone immediately helped with our bags. Their breakfast buffet it's really nice. A very good fraction of quality food. They have a nice outdoor pool. The weight room was a bit small. But I still had enough equipment to get in a decent workout. My only complaint would be. We were charged a hundred eighty dollars for a resort fee. We had six people in our group, and we were here for 4 days.

Enjoyed my stay here at Hyatt Place for my birthday vacation in Honolulu. We stayed on the top floor Penthouse. It was pretty awesome. The bed slept great, spacious room, nice balcony, excellent view. The elevators was slow, very crowded dining area for breakfast it seemed to get worse every day. (Open air)The birds were horrible. Overall it was a nice place and everyone was very friendly. Short walking distance to the beach and lots of dining options nearby.

Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach has a convenient location just a short walk from the beach, making it easy to enjoy the area’s highlights. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the complimentary breakfast was a nice touch. However, the rooms felt a bit dated, and the cleanliness could have been improved, Very slow showering water, Noise levels were also higher than expected, which impacted our ability to fully relax. For the price, I expected a more polished experience. Overall, it’s a reasonable choice if you prioritize location, but there’s room for improvement in terms of amenities and upkeep.

If you like being in the midst of everything, then this is a great location for you. It was a little too noisy for me, but I had a great time overall with my family. Breakfast was great and the crew working the dining area was great. Most of the young men helping with valet parking were very sweet. We only had one incident with one young man who was a little rude (maybe having a bad day), but he showed poor customer service. The front desk staff were very helpful. There is no parking on site, so you have to utilize the valet or find your own parking somewhere. Our rooms were together, but not connected with a door inside the room. There was an outer door that we were able to lock that kept us separated from others. The elevator traffic is horrendous. There are only two and it takes forever due to the heavy flow of people. Housekeeping kept our room tidy and were very sweet. Having Dominoes on site is a nice touch and Starbucks is across the street inside the Marriott.

The staff here, they do an outstanding job! I personally would like to thank Dino for helping us with our food tour! Also, Duncan was very helpful with our bags. Can't leave out the valet crew. They had our vehicles waiting for us when needed. Last night here, but we'll definitely be back for a longer stay.

It was very clean, great staff and so close to the beach. The valet was $50 a night but honestly that’s better than having out on the street for the same price. Didn’t use the pool but it looked nice and clean. Breakfast seating areas outside and it was honestly cool to have it outside

Outstanding Service and Thoughtful Hospitality I phoned this hotel from my home in Australia to arrange a surprise room service birthday cake for my father, who is staying at this hotel with my mother for his 60th birthday. The lovely concierge team member who answered the phone (Nicole) went above and beyond to make it happen. From the moment I called to make the request, Nicole was more than happy to accommodate it, and even helped by writing a little birthday message on a card for me. My father was absolutely delighted by the surprise. It’s rare to find genuine hospitality, and I truly appreciate the effort Nicole put into making his stay and birthday extra special. Thank you!

I would definitely recommend staying here. Alot of great things with this hotel. This was my first time visiting Hawaii. This place made a great impression. The staff was friendly and amazing in just about anyway possible. The room i stayed in was very comfortable. The breakfast wasn't too bad either, good coffee and tea. Overall, it's just a great place to stay, and a 5 minute walk to the beach. You can't beat that, especially since you can get a beach chair and towel at the desk whenever you want.

Yelp
Hyatt Place is not fancy, but there's bus stops across the street just steps away from the hotel and you can't beat the convenience. I recommend staying on the 3rd floor where the complimentary breakfast buffet and gym are stationed. Typically the dining area gets pretty damn packed if you're not there before 8am, so we just fill up our plates and take it back to our room to dine in peace and quiet. Gym is actually pretty decent, and it's not too busy in the afternoons. The pool, however, is severely lacking. It's really small and in an awkward area right by the dining space. You might as well take a 5 minute stroll and walk to the beach. There's also a laundry room, which I didn't go check out, but it's nice to have the option to do your laundry. As a Hyatt member, we also got a goodie bag with reusable water bottles, $5 dining credit/day to use at the grab-and-go market or kitchen, and 2 free bottles of water daily.

Yelp
Pros: - excellent location 5 minutes from beach - centrally located near most malls and venues of buses - free breakfast is a major plus - free water filling stations everywhere Cons: - rooms are outdated and bathrooms are incredibly cramped - sound is very poorly insulated which is fine for me, but may not be for many others Overall I'd stay again, but not during peak season. It gets incredibly packed and elevators and breakfast can take a while. Room cleaning was delayed until the evening as well. Not to their fault but the chaos of the volume of people here bottleneck everything

Yelp
Booked this hotel through Costco Vacation Package, most recently. I love that they have a daily breakfast buffet which saves me time and money. My package includes the daily breakfast which serves scrambled eggs. Also either bacon, sausage and either pancake or french toast depending on the day. Then banana and zucchini bread, different bread to toast. Fresh fruits, coffee, juices, milk and other non dairy milk. They also have hard boiled eggs, miso soup, rice and kimchee. This was my 3rd or 4th stay at this hotel, which includes the year that they first opened. I'm happy to see that they did some work compared to the last time I was here. The room I have was pretty comfortable and spacious. It has a view of the ocean from a distance. It had 2 queen beds and a couch that converts to a sofa bed. Comfortable bed with white soft linens. Small fridge enough for water and drinks and some snacks. Big TV but not much channels to watch. Usual coffeemaker. Clean bathroom. It's nice that they have 3 elevators in the tower we're in, which were pretty fast. I've stayed in hotels where there's one big elevator and quite slow. The beach is about a block and a half away which is not too far. They have a snack bar that serves light meals like sandwiches. I also had a daily $5 credit at the snack bar which was nice but just enough for a bottle of juice or soda. Parking is valet only and cost $53 per night. So prepare to pay if you have a rental car. I just parked at another parking garage which charged $25 per day. Staff were all nice, friendly and helpful from the reception desk, to the bell hop, housekeeping, concierge and snack bar. I think it's affordable and reasonable especially for the comfort and relaxed friendly atmosphere.

Yelp
I stayed here for my boyfriend and I's four-year anniversary. We arrived a few hours early due to our flight, and Angeline was kind enough to allow us an early check-in! She informed us about all the exciting excursions and amenities the hotel offers. When she heard it was our anniversary, she put together a thoughtful goodie package for us, which we truly appreciated! The taro chips were delicious, and who doesn't love Hawaiian chocolate? Upon entering our room, we noticed a lingering chemical cleaning smell that lasted for a few hours. It eventually went away but we had to keep our patio door open for a while. The hotel is a bit farther from Waikiki Beach and the shopping strip, but it wasn't too bad of an extra 5 minute walk. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast, which was super convenient for us. Rather than going out for breakfast, we were able to "save" by enjoying the free breakfast. It was a bit windy on some days since most of the seating is outside. They also have a pool on the same floor, which was usually pretty empty throughout the day. If you're looking for a break from the beach, having an empty pool was something we needed and really enjoyed! The staff was incredibly sweet, and we loved our stay at Hyatt Place!

Yelp
amazing staff I had an amazing stay at Hyatt Place Waikiki! The hotel offers breathtaking views, making it the perfect spot to relax and soak in the beauty of Hawaii. The free daily breakfast was a highlight--sumptuous, fresh, and with plenty of variety to start each day right. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable, adding to the overall great experience. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making my stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Waikiki!

Yelp
Complimentary breakfast 6:30-9:30 weekdays, until 10am weekends. The workers remove everything by 9:30. Eggs, potatoes, bacon, yogurt, pineapples, toast, kimchi, boiled egg, tofu, pickled veggies, rice, coffee/tea. Lots of birds around. Thursday : jimmy deans. Small pool hours 10am Parking 56$ per day Slow elevators. Happy hour beer until 6pm. Daily. Food trucks nearby.

Yelp
Stayed here 3 times already. If you come often and signed up as hotel members, be sure to keep active your membership or lose your earned benefits. Inactive for 24 months will go to zero points. I lost 66,000 points due to this. Will be checking on my next trip how they will treat returning customers and what the hotel can waive for being loyal. Updates will be coming. As for the hotel, it is a block off the main street of Kalakaua. The hotel's main draw is their breakfast. Watch your plate carefully, the birds have a tendency to go for unattended food. The pool is small but location to beach is close by. The lobby isn't always crowded but lacking activities. Wish they put in a pool table or some sort of games there. Parking rates has gone up considerably, $56 I am told. I got another place to park but won't post it. Don't want the hotel mad at me until the next trip and will update the results of my next trip.

Yelp
Hyatt place was a nice get away for us. I had hundreds of thousands of points that I was itching to use, so I picked Hyatt at 12k points a night. Excellent rate! Easy check in. Waived resort fees if you're Explorist or above. That saves $35 a night. Nice open air resort with lots of perks. **Hyatt gives water bottles to guests and offers refill stations for free. Excellent way to stay hydrated. **2 little gift shops. A good place to pick up Aloha Maid for a $1. Trust me on this one. **excellent free breakfast. They rotate. Every day they have scrambled eggs. They rotate sliced sausage, pork sausage links, and bacon. They also rotate pancakes, French toast sticks and waffles. They have excellent coffee!! I also saw a variety of hard boiled eggs, cereals, breads, kimchee, miso soup and rice, and fruit/yogurt/granola. VERY nice breakfast. **BIG safe in room. Fridge in room. Walking distance to ABC store and Beach as well as other shopping. ** Fabulous location. Negatives. ** no microwaves in the rooms. That's hard if you're in an extended stay. There is one on the first floor for everyone. ** small pool. Really small for a resort. It's maybe 16 by 32, perfect square. The beach is 2 blocks away but I like swimming in a pool and sunning on the beach. ** housekeeping. UGH. No matter when we left the room, it seemed like they never serviced it. They'd come around 4 pm to make the bed. They did a full service every 3 days but it still took forever. ** WiFi connection. No issues connecting at first. Then we had a rolling blackout. After that we couldn't connect. I called front desk and they helped me get connected again by telling me to connect without WiFi. Weird. **Parking. If you're globalist it's free. If you aren't, it's $57 a night. If you rent a car just know that parking is insane. ** concierge. Nice to have in hotel. But we ended up paying $160 each for Pearl Harbor and USS Arizona when we didn't need to. We didn't know better. Now we do. Those are free. Book early for tix to Arizona. Just so you know. There's food trucks all down Cartwright Ave. Good food! It's right there. Use it to save $$. ABC store. Good place for liquor, snacks, or souvenirs. It's a block down. Beach. 2 blocks down. City Bus. OMG!! $3 fare and you need cash and exact change. No change available. You can buy a pass if you'll be here awhile. We used it a LOT. Clean. Safe. Definitely the way to travel!! Overall, 4 stars!

Yelp
Really good value and you can't beat the location. The staff are super friendly. The included breakfast is awesome. It varies slightly day by day, but the selection is plentiful. The staff keep everything filled up. There are 2 complete stations for everything - hot foods, fruits, drinks, etc... so the wait is very minimal. The location to Waikiki Beach is 1/2 a block. Super easy. Nearest ABC store is just outside the lobby. The hotel has plenty of water stations for refill. They provide easy pick up and drop off of beach towels. Rooms are nice and clean.

Peter X.

Yelp
Great location literally a block away from the beach. I would recommend upgrading to the ocean view and admiring the view from the balcony. There are some roosters outside of the hotel that are kind of annoying but that's to be expected all around the island. Comes with complimentary breakfast but it's very basic and wasn't good, but hey it's free. The food from the hotel restaurant though was surprisingly good. Water pressure was lacking so it was hard to rinse off the leftover sand. But all in all I would stay here again considering the location.

Yelp
We stayed here for 5 days and truthfully I loved it. The staff are amazing and very helpful. All of the staff are approachable. The breakfast is pretty good. Portuguese sausage, kimchi, miso soup, eggs( hard boiled or scrambled) cold and hot cereal, parfait and much more. Coffee is good and orange juice and apple juice for beverage. They have a bar and small store down stairs. It's a block away from the beach. This beach is very child friendly. Tons of stores and name brand stores all walking distance. Moped rentals right next door. Busses available as well. My only 2 complaints was parking. They don't have hotel parking. Only valet parking. Which is pricey. The hotel across the street (not Marriott) is cheaper but fill up quick. There is street parking but it's first come first serve but I don't think it would be safe on the street. 2 is the laundry room is pricey as well as soap. I suggest you get your soap from target or Walmart which is both close by. There is a domino's pizza downstairs as well. With that said thank you Hyatt place and staff for a great experience. Oh the view isn't too bad either. It's just in the middle of other big buildings.

Yelp
Pretty good stay at this Hyatt place The location was nice and only a block from the beach. Free boogie boards & chairs to rent daily.. The staff was really nice. Rooms were fine but balcony door was almost impossible to open & close. Also beware of the elevators - there's only two and you will wait several minutes at times, especially at breakfast. Break was decent. They had standard offering plus many Asian breakfast options since half the guests were Asian. They ran out of fruit a couple times which was the majority of our plates. Also the countless birds were beyond annoying as they constantly were grabbing food off idiot's tables who left food unattended. Hyatt needs to have signs everywhere stating not to do that! They've created a bad situation where it's NOT pleasant to eat!!! We had a daily credit to use at the snack bar, but the offerings were very limited, so we got tired of the few items they had by the end of the week. Especially since we just came in from Seattle's Hyatt place and they had a small grocery store as their snack bar.! Parking was a bit tricky finding a spot overnight, luckily, we only had to park a couple times. The rest of the trip we just walked everywhere and did a tour that picked us up at the top of the block. NOTE - their address is on the street that does not have the car drop off entrance, which is on a one-way street so when Google has you pull up, you can't enter the one-way exit to pull the car up & therefore have to drive all the way around the block to pull in to their driveway.

Lisa C.

Yelp
I really love my experience here. The check in area is a open room to the street. Clean and beautifully decorates. They have a snack stand/bar plus WATER dispenser!!! The third flooor is fitness center/small po/out door eating area plus the location of the includes breakfast buffet. I always look for a place with breakfast includes to take one off of the headache of food hunting. The room is nice and spacious. We got the 2Oth floor with two queen beds. All the necessities for living space. This is Waikiki, i did not plan to stay in the room too much. A little off to the center street to the North of the hustle and bustle. But everything is still within walking distance. About 15 min walk will be the famous Rainbow Drive In/Kona Abalone. All the good food teyck placea are within 5 min walk.

Yelp
While staying on Oahu last week, we stayed for 4 days and 3 nights at the Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach. I very much enjoyed our time here and find myself really enjoying my experiences at Hyatt Places around the country! (+) Fantastic location! You are a 5-8-minute walk to the beach, the zoo, and a wealth of food, drink, and shopping options! You have an ABC Store practically right next door. So, so much is in a very reasonable walking distance from here! (+) Room was very clean and had a good amount of space (412 sq foot in total). The large TV that swivels back and forth between the living room space and bedroom space was great! I did find it somewhat odd that the remote control was wrapped in a very loose plastic bag. I just assumed it was a Covid thing, but it was kind of annoying. (+) The free warm breakfast is fantastic for the price point (free)! lol Seriously, Waikiki is insanely expensive. To be able to get some free sustenance every morning and then taking our time choosing our first food option was a huge perk IMO. The food wasn't bad at all! Every morning there are plenty of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, orange juice, plus so much more! Most of the seating is outdoors, so if it rains you are pretty much stuck eating standing up or taking it back to your room. (+) Staff was very friendly and helpful. Front desk, bellman, and housekeeping were all very accommodating and I really appreciated them! (+/-) They do have laundry facilities on grounds, which I found helpful here. Just be aware it is $4 a load to wash and $4 a load to dry. Detergent was $2 for a 1 load box. Basically $10 to do a load of laundry. I didn't want to smell so I paid it. lol (+/-) the ocean view I paid for was alright but was more a view of the ocean peeking out from behind a bunch of buildings! It was still a-ok though! (-) resort fee of $35 per night. I just do not like resort fees at all. IMO it should be included in the room rate. Why would I want to swim in your plain jane rectangular pool when the beautiful freaking ocean is literally paces away?? Bah. I hate that resort fees are the norm now. Despite all that, I really enjoyed my stay here at the Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach and would not hesitate to recommend it! 4 solid stars.

Eva G.

Yelp
Back in the area and stayed at this hotel. I actually enjoyed my room as it was on a higher floor so I can appreciate the views. The room I had this time was spacious and relaxing. Thank you!

Steph N.

Yelp
Clean and comfy rooms that me, my man, and toddler enjoyed a lot. Love all the staff there so kind and helpful. Really showed us a lot of consideration and care. The breakfast is outdoors so the birds would come leaving any food unattended so that was not my cup of tea but my toddler loved their presence and watching the birds while she ate.

Review N.

Yelp
The place is beautiful! The gentlemen standing awaiting everyone's arrival is always so friendly no matter how many times you walk past them. They help you unload, and check in is straight ahead and off to the right. Our room was like any other hotel room. Our maid was Awesome. She left us extra towels and everytime she saw us she greeted us and always asked if there was anything we needed!! If we asked she always came back with our request!! Just awesome!! The buffet breakfast is thee bestest part about staying here! Every morning they offer so many variety's of breakfast food! And you go around and help yourself kind of setting. There aren't too many seating areas due to the pool is right there, but if you go early enough or wait til the first crowd leaves you should be fine. Or you can even opt to taking your breakfast to your room. Every area of the hotel is nicely kept and very clean. They don't mind when your kids are running crazy, cause mine sure was. We are most definitely staying again!

Yelp
We stayed here in Waikiki for 4 days before we took a cruise to some of the other Hawaiian Islands. The location is a couple of blocks from the beach and near many great things to see and do in Waikiki. It's also a great location for authentic Hawaiian restaurants on Kapahulu Ave to eat with the locals in Honolulu. One of our favorite local food spots on Kapahulu Avenue is Ono Seafood, and that is only 1 mile away from the hotel. Leonard's Bakery is just about a quarter mile further down the road. This hotel is one of the few in Waikiki that offers a free continental breakfast. Lots of fresh fruit and healthy pre-made breakfast sandwiches that were really tasty. Excellent coffee as well. This saved AT LEAST $100 a day not having to purchase breakfast for 5 people at Honolulu prices. The rooms are what you would expect for the price we paid. The showers have strong water pressure, and we always had hot water whatever time of the day we took showers. We had a Diamond Head View room, which was an absolute joke because our view was of the roofs of the buildings next to us, which were showered with broken glass, thrown on them. We were able to see a sliver of Diamond Head between some of the larger buildings, so I guess that was considered "the view." Parking in Waikiki is at a premium. The hotel charges about $45- a day plus tax and probably other fees. The first few days, the kids doing the valet service were great. However, the day we were checking out to leave on the cruise, a different crew was working. It appeared to myself and others that only the locals were getting their vehicles while others were waiting a very long time. I discussed this with the front desk, and they refunded the cost of parking for the visit. Others stated they were treated like this several times, and this wasn't an isolated incident for them. The resentment towards "mainlanders" is a lot less than it was the last time we were in Hawaii 20 years ago, but it can sneak up on you when you last expect it. This is the only time we experienced it during our almost 2 weeks in Hawaii. The biggest problem, however, was the elevator. There is only 1 set of elevators per each side of the hotel. At peak times such as breakfast, if you're on the 5th floor or higher, be prepared to wait 10 minutes or for an elevator. In conclusion, we would look for another option for our next trip to Hawaii, but we would be okay staying here again if this was the best option at that time.

David S.

Yelp
My wife and I have been stating here annually /semi annually since 2014. We would not consider staying anywhere else as everything from check in to check out it superb. Our room has always been too notch with the housekeeping staff always making sure that we want for nothing. In all the years that we have been staying here we honestly have not ever had a single staff person be nothing but helpful and smiling.

Richie Z.

Yelp
This is a really good value hotel in Waikiki, especially if you're able to snag a booking for 12K Hyatt points. The points bookings usually fill up months ahead of time, so plan ahead! If you're just getting a cash rate, I think there are better options in town usually, like the Hyatt Regency or Hyatt Centric. It really fluctuates depending on the season though! The rooms are clean and decently sized. Beds are all quite comfortable, and plumbing has always worked well when I've been there. Can't say the same about some of the older Hyatt Places I've been to on the mainland. The breakfast is solid and includes some Asian options as well, which is a nice improvement on top of mainland Hyatt places. There's a small pool on the property as well but it was closed the few times I've stayed here, and you might as well just go to the beach a block away anyways. If you're a globalist member you get free parking and can waive the resort fee as well, so this is an insanely good deal!

Yelp
After quite a few years, we decided to come back to Waikiki for vacation. We had to pick this hotel before it was the only hotel on the strip that provided free breakfast. Since our flight arrived 5 hours before the hotel's check-in time, we had no choice but to leave our luggages there so we can roam around the area. The check-in time was 3pm but by 12:30pm, I received a text that our room was ready. I'm a Hyatt rewards member so maybe early check-in is a perk for being a member? Anyways, our room was on the 2nd floor, literally diagonal to the elevator and right next to the housekeepers' towel supply room (not sure what's it called)...facing the street. When we walked into the room, it was quite clean (until I saw dust on the lamps). For a family of 4, only 3 sets of towels were given and the closest couldn't even fit the 2 luggage's that we brought. The sofa was 1/3 of the size that was in the virtual video on their website. As for the bathroom sink, the counter is too small to place all the necessities we had. There's gaps between both sides of the wall towards the sink. I was super paranoid that I would drop stuff in between the gaps. As for the beds, they are slightly too firm for my back and the pillows were flat. Whenever we were in our room, we could hear the cars honking, sirens going off, etc. Two of the days we were there, the housekeeper's towel cart was blocking our door. Should there be an emergency, we would be stuck in our room and no way out. The elevator was super slow and there's always a line getting into the elevator so we took the elevator on the first day and took the stairs during the remaining days. As for breakfast, there aren't enough seats to accommodate the amount of people they have. Food was replenished quickly but the variety was lacking. On a positive side, there were two filtered water stations in the lobby. We utilized those machines quite a few times. On our last day there, I noticed 2 stains on the bed sheets (1 stain per bed...we had 2 queen beds). I'll have to reconsider if I want to stay here again.

Yelp
**BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK** GREAT HOTEL CLOSE TO THE BEACH! The hotel is very updated and clean! Proximity to the beach is awesome - less than 4 minutes to the water. DON'T PAY EXTRA FOR A VIEW All the rooms have obstructed views. Not worth it! Just GO to the beach! BREAKFAST Pretty good selection! You can definitely save money and be satisfied by eating breakfast at the hotel. GYM Pretty good! Dumbbells up to 50#, two bench's and a ton of cardio equipment! POOL Meh. An after thought. No views. Just a rectangle in an odd spot by the breakfast area. Again, you're in Hawaii. Go to the beach!

Darin T.

Yelp
Pros: ocean view was nice, and not too pricey of an upgrade. Room AC worked wonders. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Service was friendly. Was able to check-in early (after being first told not till 3-3:30pm so, pleasant surprise). Location was convenient to the zoo side of Waikiki. Able to text the hotel via Hyatt app which was cool, but a bit slow to reply so don't ask anything time sensitive. Breakfast was surprisingly great for being complimentary. Water stations are appreciated, and ice machines were on every floor. Cons: no outlets or USBs near the head of the bed at all so charging devices was a bit inconvenient. Actually not a ton of outlets in the room in general. We arrived and saw 1 ant on our dresser, so no big deal. But overnight a day trail grew on our opened coconut water which was a bummer (and how do they get up to the 14th floor so quickly?!). Elevators are painfully slow, especially to the breakfast area, and the stairs are only accessible via outside back of the hotel near the dumpsters. Room was on the small side compared with the other Hyatts on the island for the price. Based on the similar pricing to the other Hyatt hotels in Waikiki (based on availability of course) I'd look into Regency or Centric over Place for our next stay.

Doug B.

Yelp
The Staff is amazingly helpful especially Bellmen Jeff and Jason. I racked my brain for "opportunities for improvement", and could only think of the excruciatingly slow (but safe) elevators/lifts. Thanks for making our short stay so comfortable!

Yelp
A good hotel for Waikiki. Located on the eastern part of Waikiki, the Hyatt place offers good accomodations for the area. Rooms were nice. We initially had a king but later moves to a two queen room. I think it's my first time in a "city" Hyatt Place, as usually the sofas that I'm used to was a two seater and converts to a double, so I thought the King would suffice but the couch was only a one seater -convert to a single. The walk in shower was awesome, great water pressure and hot. Plenty of shampoo, conditioner and body wash (full sized pump bottles). The sink is outside of the toilet/shower room. The beds were super comfy and they were welcome nightly as we were at the beaches most days. Parking is limited, but I was able to get metered parking over night free from 10pm to 6am daily. Valet is $75/night, the guys handling that service were great as they had a ton of vehicles to manage in the drop off area. I had to leave my luggage at the hotel as our check-in time is at 3pm and the bellmen were really nice. The front desk folks were good at explaining all our options for our stay. My favorite part of Hyatt Place is their daily breakfast buffet bar. Since it's Hawaii and serves an Asian clientele, they had daily miso soup, kimchee, pickles, and short grain rice available each day to accompany daily scrambled eggs (they did a good job on the eggs btw). The breakfast was located at the outside pool deck area, so lots of seating available for that. We did encounter a morning when it rained - and had to dine in our own room, which had a covered balcony with 2 chairs and table. Sometimes it's nice to have rain :). Coffee/tea was available in the lobby area during most of the day till evening. Lots of space to hangout. Included in resort fee was free wifi, some free classes offered for lei making (Wednesday and Fridays), daily $5 hotel spending credit (non-cumulative, use it or lose it), reusable water bottles, sand toys, foldable beach chairs (camp chairs), boogie boards, towels. We took advantage of those items daily as it really was nice to have those available. The beach is located 1 block from the hotel, and there was a Dominos pizza open till 12am within the building. Some folks complained about no a/c in the first floor lobby, I think it was due to no windows being open that particular evening, but when the windows are open it's a decent temp.

Yelp
First time here and it was nice. Location of course is great. Just off the main strip but still walking distance and minutes to the beach. You're right off of Kuhio which offer loads of restaurants. Around the corner is the zoo. Like mentioned, your literally a couple minutes walk straight to the beach. Check in was preppy easy. We were given a little welcome bag with two water bottle which was sweet. With the hotel room, another key is given for your pool towels. In exchange for towel, they take that key and once you return, another one is given. There's a bar around the corner from lobby as well as loads of seating area. Downfall with one star taken off, the elevator is SLOW... it took forever when we checked in trying to get to our room. Everyone was complaining about that. Don't sure if it happens all the time though. There's 2 building I believe. We ended up taking the stairs down everything leaving as it was faster than waiting. Another downfall, stairs exit where driveway is so you can't enter back without a key. Breakfast was included where the pool area is. Continental, but does rotate daily. Juices, cereal, hot items and so on. Seating does get full and heads up, loads of birds so be careful and not leave your food unattended. Pool area isn't big. Room are pretty big, nice bed, balcony with chairs and table, sofa that become a bed, a little office nook, fridge and safe. Overall, good for the price. Location is great. Breakfast included, nice room. Downfall, slow elevator.

Yelp
Hyatt Discoverist here: The pros: the location, free breakfast, onsite valet parking. Staff is friendly and helpful. Pretty affordable rate for location. Free daily beach towels. The Cons: our AC leaked water all night the first night of our stay 3/23/24 and didn't go below 70. They came to fix it the next day, but 3 nights later it went back to being hot and inoperable. The free breakfast line/area can be very chaotic with long lines. The patio to eat your breakfast is extremely windy, making it an unpleasant area to sit. We ended up taking the breakfast back to our room. No body lotion provided in room. BUYER BEWARE: rooms that say they have a "sofa bed" DO NOT have sofas but rather an arm chair that turns into a bed-if you're expecting a full size sofa that turns into a bed you will be disappointed. Overall this is a conveniently located and basic affordable room. Free breakfast makes it nice to fill up before you head out.

Yelp
This was the absolutely best place for us to stay on this vacation! We had a really great experience. I loved it! First, they were very professional and provided amazing service even before we landed. They started by texting me while I was at home to prepare me for my trip and let me know they expected our arrival. It was so nice. I was able to tell them we would arrive in the evening and that it was a special occasion. Next, their website is very useful and provided information and the phone number of reliable and reasonable transportation to the hotel from the airport, which was Charley's cab. It was so convenient, we did not even need to pre-plan our transfers like I usually do. Our room was very nice and very big. It was way bigger than expected to the point where the kids noticed our hotel rooms are not normally this size. We got a two queen plus pull out bed room. It was nice a cool and had an adorable balcony where spent many days lounging to see the gorgeous mountains. They were also so organized and well-staffed, any time we needed additional towels or toiletries they came to our room immediately. Such wonderful service. Plus we could either call the desk, ask them in person, or text our requests. Also, while it did state that they would only clean the room every few days, they cleaned and restocked our daily. This is the first time in several years that we have had this efficiency and good service. The hotel has towels, beach chairs, and boogie boards to lend to their customers. We did take full advantage of this and it was wonderful. The location of this hotel is perfect, just steps from the beach, just the end of the street, and very close to ABC Stores, multiple restaurants, and a really nice Starbucks across the street in case you need one. They also have some of the best food trucks in the alley with hands down the best Pad Thai. They also have a tour desk to book tours, we booked three here and really enjoyed them. They picked us up across the street every time, we did not need to go elsewhere, this place seems to be centrally located. There is even a Domino's pizza which was not great but available. I truly enjoyed their breakfasts every morning. If you read the other reviews, it is true, there are a lot of birds but I stayed here for a bit over a week and there are birds everywhere since most of the places are open to the elements outside. I liked their breakfast. I had yogurt, granola, and pineapple every day. I really liked their miso bar area and thought the hot food was good. People forget that hotels were not serving hot breakfast for a long time, it was just grab and go until more recently. So honestly, I am grateful. Plus the people who work here are so friendly and go out of their way for you. They gave us a complimentary birthday drink at the bar, we got a mai tai, it was excellent. The only cons and you will see this in other reviews, are the elevators and the small pool. Plus at every hotel here, this one is no exception, you need a hotel key to ride the elevators or get into the public restroom. Those are only for guests only in Waikiki. I did not see any public restrooms on the beach, but since this hotel is so close, it was near enough to run back if you needed to. This is a very expensive area so I do not think you are going to get a better place than this for a family vacation. There are so many pro's they completely outweigh any cons. I loved it and will be back.

Yelp
The hotel price was great for what we got. The free breakfast was also a huge plus and surprisingly good for hotel breakfast! The pool is pretty lame and the elevators sometimes take forever to arrive. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The bellmen were fantastic! Give them a raise.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I spent five nights in Oahu to see the sites, and it was her first time, so I had to be mindful of budget. The Hyatt Place in Waikiki is a solid stay if that's what your budget allows. It's close enough to the beach for that not to be a factor, but if you're on a tight schedule -- the two elevators they have per tower and the valet parking are never quick. My girlfriend and I dreaded having to use the elevator in any situation, but considering we were on the 18th floor, we had no choice. This also makes things like food delivery services a pain. The daily $5 credit was nice, but it would've been better to have the full amount according to the number of nights you're staying. The gift shops also aren't open long enough to even consider them as an option, especially when the ABC Store is steps away. Aside from all that, the staff is very polite and it's clear they're trying with the resources they have. We are very appreciative of the upgraded room. The food at the bar is actually pretty good, as the wings and fries I had during football Sunday were made to order. You also have access to unlimited water downstairs, so the Globalist bottles don't matter too much -- though it would've been nice to have those delivered to my order when cleaning came in. Overall it was a good experience whether or not you have status, but if you wanted something a bit more lux -- this isn't it.

Yelp
We had a great stay at this hotel with our immediate and extended family. The staff is wonderful and we really enjoyed the included breakfast. Everything tasted fresh and delicious and there was a nice variety, though we only stayed two nights. It was great to have a quick, on site option for breakfast before heading out for our activities for the day. Very close walk to the beach, the water bottles and refill stations were a nice bonus. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The hotel was as expected. The rooms were pretty bug and had a balcony. The lobby was big and nice with lots of comfty seating and a cafe. There is also a dominos connected to the lobby which was perfect after our late night check in! The breakfast is a nice bonus since not many hotels in hawaii have free breakfast- although if it rains there isnt much seating as it is all outside- and beware of the many birds that try to get your food. We also were happy there were water refill stations in the lobby. My only complaint is the ELEVATORS! There is too much congestion for the 2 elevators that lead to breakfast and it takes like 5 minutes to get an elevator! We were on the 14th floor and we often had to wait a long time!

Yelp
The room was alot smaller than expected but clean. There was no parking available. The breakfast buffet was okay. Pool was closed for renovation. Will not recommend this place at all.

Yelp
incredible A+ hotel. 5 out 5 stars. I have been coming here for over 10 years. It is walking distance from the quiet beaches of Waikiki . The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds are super comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Their managers Ihab and Dino are hard-working, go the extra mile and are exceptional friendly and helpful. Angeline at the front desk is very positive, helpful and awesome. Rarely do you find a hotel in Hawaii that gives complementary breakfast. The breakfast has a huge assortment of different types of food. The menu changes daily. Having breakfast at your hotel, will save you much-needed time for your travels. Tip: Order their food downstairs for lunch or dinner . There are chicken strips and fries plate is very high-quality and plentiful.

Yelp
Stayed here for 7 days and was super disappointed with our room experience. The room had filthy carpet all over (including the bathroom area) and had so much visible dirt, debris, dust, and who knows what all over the walls. Every time we walked into our room, it reeked of mildew and even the towels had an extremely pungent mildew smell. We were also told that our room would have an ocean view and it, in fact, just faced north towards the other hotels and over the exhaust pipes of the hotel. Leaving a few stars for how kind the staff and employees were here, but disappointed with the quality of the room/stay considering the pricepoint.

Yelp
I stayed in this hotel for 6 nights during the spring break. In general it's good but not perfect, I would skipped the good and bad reviews which other people have posted such as big and clean room, free breakfast, walking distance to beach, also only 2 elevators and yes it looks like they are under construction ( I think it's 2-5th floor?) so sometimes you have to ride with the workers w/ their work station table ( full of tools) or some other stuff but I am OK with that. The best thing I admire is the front desk staff are super friendly, they offer free towels and beach chairs that you can borrow, also I have a billing issue, after I called and they fixed it in the same day. Back to the things I would like to complain, 1st of all, more like a suggestion, the guest's room doesn't have usb ports to charge cell phones, we have 2 iPhones and 1 iPad, fortunately I brought a charger and I believe I can borrow one from the hotel, just please consider upgrading it when you will remodel the guest rooms, OK? The 2nd complaint is when we checked out, the lady said the hotel offered a ride to airport, $35+tax, I checked Uber and the quote was around $50 (including I will give 5 dollars tips) why not, right. But the taxi driver came and picked up us, she turned on the meter and when we arrived the airport, the number is $55 and she charged us $55, including I paid the valet parking guy 5 bucks tips ( not his fault) who arranged the ride for us and taken care of our luggages, I paid $60 total for the ride. We were rushed to check in since there were a lot of people waiting for go through the security check points, so I didn't have time to argue with her. Next time I will use Uber because they honored what they quoted.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years and the good have stayed good and the bad have stayed bad and slightly worse if you ask me. The price and quality combined with the location is unbeatable. I've stayed in quite a few Hyatt Place hotels around the country and this one stands head and shoulders above the others. Pre-covid, the breakfast was better than some fancier hotels and served buffet-style by the pool. The last time I visited was at the end of May when they resumed to bfast service by the pool. It wasn't great as they were phasing out the basic grab and go, but on some days it was as close as they were going to get to the hot tasty options they used to have (boy I can't wait for those bfasts to come back!). The rooms are spacious, clean, beds are comfy and very good quality of everything. Except the elevators! These elevators!!!! They're ALWAYS broken! Because of the popularity of this hotel, they're always full of guest. It is very inconvenient when only one, very slow elevator is operational. If they could get their elevator game together, oh they will be booked solid forever!

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay at Hyatt Place Waikiki. When we checked in they gave us a reusable bag and 2 reusable water bottles. They had multiple water and ice stations within the hotel. The beach is within a walkable distance. They let you borrow towels, beach chairs, boogie boards and other items for the beach. There was plenty of food available for breakfast. We also used the valet service since it was the most convenient. All the workers we encountered were very friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend this hotel.

Yelp
we booked 2 rooms thru costco travel, upon check in only one room was available, we waited an hour for the other room to be ready. guests who are checking in were being given a reusable water bottle and bag per room. we did not get ours, instead we were given 2 water bottles and were told they run out of stock, and the delivery will be the next day. the following day i asked the guest services for the complimentary give away and was told that the delivery will not be arriving till the end of the month. on the 3rd day, i saw new guests getting the complimentary gifts and i asked for our rooms, the clerk was mumbling to herself that i couldn't understand. was it because we booked thru costco that's why we did not get the give away and the clerks were giving us the run around? tbh, i don't know. the location is decent, close to the beach, shops and restaurants, although parking is terrible, no self parking, only valet and the wait is long since they park your car somewhere. the buffet is not good at all, you will have the same food everyday, no variations. even the fruits tasted canned, cannot even provide fresh papaya or pineapple when those are typically found in hawaii.

Yelp
Great location, easy access to beaches and bus. Room is kind of small for a Hyatt Hotel. Destination Fees is ridiculous!!!

Yelp
We stayed here for 7 nights in March 2021. I'd describe this hotel as the best bang for your buck if you are looking to stay around the Waikiki beach area. The location is fantastic, it's conveniently located in the Heart of Waikiki, you can walk to the international marketplace mall, lots of food spots, the beach and more. The room (Ocean View with King Bed) is small, but it'll meet your basic accommodation needs. We did expect a better view since we paid extra for an ocean view room, but because of the buildings in front of us I would call it a partial ocean view instead. Parking - the hotel only offer valet parking which would cost you $40 per night. But there is a parking structure right across the street called WAIKIKI BANYAN PARKING, that offers weekly parking passes for $80, highly recommended, but the passes do sell out daily. At the time we were there, the buffet breakfast service was on Pause because of covid so they prepackage Muffin/croissant, yogurt, protein bar & a fruit in a bag for you to pick up every morning. Self service coffee also available. They also have a gym which can sometimes get pretty crowded in the morning. Conveniently, "because of covid", the house keeping only came every 3 days, which we were absolutely not happy with.

Yelp
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. We aren't really "resort" people and typically stay at Airbnb's, especially since we like the convenience of having a kitchen. We opted to stay in Waikiki since it was my first time in Oahu and wanted somewhere we could visit the rest of the island from as well. It is not a beachfront property, but we enjoyed the proximity to the beach and also that it was located on one end of Waikiki rather than smack dab in the middle. We spent most of our time out, but appreciated having a comfortable, clean hotel room to come back to to rest. Our room was spacious and clean, service was friendly, and the hot breakfast was better than we expected. Like others have mentioned, the elevators are pretty slow so set your expectations accordingly. There are filtered water stations in the lobby where we filled out water bottles each day, which was nice and saved us a few bucks rather than having to buy gallons of water for when we went out hiking. The pool is really small, so if you're looking to lay out by the pool, this is not the place for you. Overall, we would stay here again!

Yelp
Super convenient, small hotel. Good coffee, great service, clean rooms and valet is super efficient and fast. Jeff in the Valet/bellman was really helpful and treated us like family. I have no complaints about the service and cleanlines of hotel. Bartender was very attentive and drink prices was reasonable. Knocking one star down because there was a sound like a vent was blowing loud all through the night. We stayed in a suite, and the room was spacios enough for my kids to run around. All through the night was the sound of a vent blowing and my son said it sounded like "Ghost busters". Price was reasonable for the stay, considering smaller hotel, not that much amenities for guests but is a very clean, sanitized hotel. Its a good "in and out, convenient " hotel. Free beakfast could be better. If they had more breakfast choices. Rice , variety of fruit, selection of different breads would have been nice. I am very pleased. I will return.

Yelp
This is an awful hotel. Noisy and dirty. Staff is terrible. Crew put on Mezzanine level. Plated our contract and hotel would not do anything about it.

Yelp
It's a beautiful hotel and so close to the beach. Everyone is so helpful and nice. The elevators can be slow and take a while. The breakfast is great! My family and I love seeing Mildred in the mornings that she is working. Mildred is a hard worker and has been so kind and always going above and beyond to help!

Yelp
Such an amazing place to stay. I'm a big fan of all the Hyatt Place's when I travel, and this one did not disappoint. I don't know how they do it, but other hotel chains should take a page out of their book in regards to trainjng staff in professionalism and hospitality. They always have the best staff/teams working for them. Pros: - beautiful location just a minute walk to the beach - beautiful facility with outdoor lobby - all staff was super friendly - clean rooms and facility - breakfast included Cons: - Valet for the week was pricey, but seems to be the going rate in that location

Sandra M.

Yelp
This is a very nice family friendly hotel. Walking distance to the beach. You can get towels, beach chairs to take to the beach. When you get checked in. Your given a reusable bag and 2 Hyatt Place water bottle's. There's ice machines, water stations. (Fill up your water bottle take to beach) different breakfast served daily. Food trucks on side alley. Down stairs Domino's Pizza. Rooms very clean. ABC stores just down the street. It's not beach front. Everything is walking distance. It's perfect. I'll be back again.

Yelp
The Hyatt Place Waikiki was in a great location, near everything in the Waikiki area. Check in was easy. Getting to the rooms wasn't so easy. There's one bank of elevators for each tower. Our tower happened to have 19 floors. For all those rooms, hotel capacity, two small elevators are simply inadequate for this location. The rooms themselves were very clean. I did note that the bathrooms had water damage from inadequate seals in the showers. The beds were comfortable, but good luck trying to sleep. It is the loudest place ever! Basically, there is a circle of high-rise hotels, so if you have a City view room, the road below just echoes up through this sound tube it has created. Midway through our stay, some type of renovation started and we heard jackhammering non-stop throughout the day. All of the staff were very kind and accommodating. We especially appreciate concierge Jesse, who made us great reservations, and was fantastic when we needed to make some changes. They have a great bar at this location, but there's never a bartender. If you did have a bartender, they would disappear and you'd be sitting there waiting for your bill. They also didn't have adequate supplies of beverages. When we did have a bartender, LC was very friendly and kind. We talked about the economy of Waikiki, and we learned what brought her here. There is an included breakfast buffet each morning for guests, which is very nice. People!, don't leave your food unattended, because there is also a bird problem. You will come back from getting your coffee and your breakfast will be gone. I also wish they had a little bit of creativity in their breakfast. Lots of powdered eggs, miso soup, yogurt and pineapple, various cereals... The only thing that changed really was the meat. One day it was bacon and another it was Portuguese sausage. One day there were some french toast sticks scattered in there. The only thing I thought was exceptionally great was the coffee. But of course, it's Hawaiian coffee, so it's going to be pretty great. I appreciated that you can get coffee or tea at any time, and it's also in the lobby for free. Speaking of free beverages, there is a water filling station, and upon your arrival they give you some water bottles so you can keep fresh water and stay hydrated throughout your stay. On the topic of water, let's talk about the frozen kind. Our ice maker was broken on the 9th floor, and was not repaired in the entire week that we were there. When you can't get an elevator (like I said before, good luck), you have to hoof it down a few floors. But like I said, a great location. I would stay again for the location/accessibility, value and staff.

Yelp
The place, even though a bit old was very, very clesn, and hospitsble. Thank you guys
