Hyatt Regency Addis Ababa

This property is one of the best Hyatts we have stayed at. It felt more like a Park Hyatt or Andaz than a Hyatt Regency, in terms of service, food quality, and on-site attractions. The Fendika cultural center is a unique and inventive partnership and really makes the property stand out. The location is excellent and provides easy access to the city and airport.||||Service||- Check was easy and efficient.||- Staff were incredibly friendly and checked in on us throughout our stay.||- We were explicitly welcomed as a Hyatt Globalist at the front desk and with a note in our room.||||Room||- The suite layout makes efficient use of space. It may not be as large as other suites, but it didn't feel small.||- Two luggage racks is greatly appreciated.||- Entryway bathroom in suites should have a hand towel. I think moving one from the main bathroom would be fine to avoid increasing the number of towels per room.||- Some of the cabinet drawers in our room are loose/not well fitted.||- Shower pressure was good.||- There were plenty of power outlets and USB sockets.||- The light switches were slightly unintuitive; I had to go to the entrance of the suite to shut off all the lights.||||Public Spaces||- The lobby is elegant and spacious.||||Dining||- The hotel breakfast buffet was quite good and had ample options available. Service was fast and polite. At other properties, I often find breakfast buffets underwhelming, and table service too slow for a quick bite. I was impressed with the options at this buffet, the speed of service, and self service options for drinks.||- The cafe near the elevator is great for grab and go snacks. ||- They have a number of other restaurants on site and nearby.||||Fendika||- The Fendika cultural center is an excellent partnership and was one of the highlights of our trip.||- Every evening they have a program of either traditional dance and music or contemporary music such as jazz.||- They also have an art gallery with works from local artists.||- They serve food and drinks as well.||- Tickets are cheap and advanced reservations are not required.||- We met the owner, who is a well known dancer. He is very authentic and passionate about his work. He seems to be there every night and sometimes DJs.||- Batiru from the front desk recommended it on our first night and we were very glad we went. We even came back on the second day!||- Fendika is a huge selling point of the hotel; I would come to this hotel even if I was not a Hyatt globalist just for that.

Good location and service. It is a high end pricey place. They also have a big hall suitable for large meetings and smaller rooms for executive meetings. If you want to host a meeting there, better to check if they are willing to host the kind of meeting you are planning. They are picky and arbitrary.

Been there twice this week & the service very very slow especially when they taking your order. The dessert cakes are also not fresh. It's hard like a rock, they bring your hot drink cold. but the hotel very beautiful. Over all not worth the hype.

Let me start by saying this hotel is stunning – a real beautiful oasis. The rooms are clean, tidy, and pleasantly new. Food was great, cocktails were spot on. BUT... our whole experience was wrecked by bees swarming the indoor and outdoor lounges. We moved seats three times trying to escape them! Turns out there's a beehive right on the terrace. Seriously? For a hotel classified as 5-star, this is just unacceptable. Trying to enjoy a meal or a drink with kids while dodging bees isn't exactly relaxing. Hyatt, please fix this! We love Hyatt!

My family and I come here a lot. The rooms are very clean and comfy. breakfast at the kitchen is very delicious and brunch at the oriental is wow. The staff are very welcoming it feels like home away from home!! Adina and Yenenesh are very sweet and humble and treat us like family and always serve us the same!! The food is so good .. it’s fresh and healthy and love the music as well… we’ve celebrated many birthdays at the oriental and there’s nothing we would complain about it!!

She was very professional, attentive, and kind, making sure everything was perfect throughout my stay.||Her warm hospitality truly stood out and made my visit even more memorable. great place to stay, clean facilities, attentive staff and modern. the food options are good as well and room service is quick. the spa is a must experience and it was also very useful being able to get hair done within the hotel

Love this hotel. We love it so much that we flew back here after every one of our destinations to recover. We spent two weeks to explore, Dakanil Depression, Gheralty, Axum, Lalibela, and Simien Mountains. Each time we came back we were taken cared of and recharged to backpack through the next destination. Thank you Genet for making sure we got a tub each time we came back and making sure our clothes were ready for the next adventure . Hyatt Addis took care of their Hyatt Family. Hotel was beautiful, Location was excellent, Staff were helpful and professional.
