I had an excellent stay at the Hyatt Regency Amsterdam. The rooms are nice, clean, and beautifully designed with a modern, slick feel. The gym and spa facilities are fantastic—well-equipped, relaxing, and a real highlight of the hotel. Service throughout my stay was consistently excellent, with staff who were attentive, friendly, and professional. I also really enjoyed the dining options; the food was great and the atmosphere welcoming. The location is slightly removed from the busiest parts of the city, but it’s still convenient—perfect if you don’t mind a bit of walking and prefer a quieter area. Overall, a wonderful experience. I’d definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hyatt Recency in Amsterdam to celebrate my birthday. HUGE thanks to Joyce and Rosanna who looked after us so well. All the staff were so friendly, polite and offered absolute excellent service, but these two in particular made our stay extra special. The rooms are spacious and clean with lots of storage (huge cupboard, drawers etc) and good amenities. The shower had good pressure and beds are comfortable. Breakfast had plenty of options, with Indonesian dishes too, including various breads, pastries, fruits, lots of juices, ham/cheese, salads, yogurts, cereals and more with hot dishes such as eggs/omelettes freshly made to order. There are the cutest waffle cones for jams, honey, sauces etc Mimosas are included too! The restaurant area is spacious and comfortable. The spa and gym are also a nice addition and we enjoyed time in the sauna and steam room. It’s not big but nice all the same. There is only one treatment room, however, so book in advance if you’d like a massage or facial. There is a supermarket right opposite the hotel and the area is central enough (about 10 mins in a taxi from the station) but still a bit of a walk to museums, shops etc though we didn’t mind since it’s a lovely city to walk around in. Only thing I’d say is checking in online is fruitless; we still had to do the entire process in person. Booking over the phone was a better price than online and easy to do, but there was some confusion over deposit payment which the hotel itself couldn’t rectify. I’ve been to Amsterdam a few times and most places I’ve stayed have been great though I’d highly recommend to stay here.

Chic, stylish property with a surprisingly calm vibe despite its central location just a short walk from the tram and train stations. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, featuring exceptionally comfortable beds and modern, thoughtful amenities. Lovely staff esp the Regency club staff! The hotel’s restaurant, Mama Makan, which offers a fantastic Indonesian-inspired menu that mirrors the hotel's stylish decor.

Fantastic people and experience at Hyatt Regency Amsterdam. Rooms are fresh, clean and modern. Breakfast is 5 star all day. Lovely array of continental options and fresh eggs and options on tap. The team are excellent. Well located to easily walk into the city or get the tram or metro. Lovely places to eat and drink nearby

Google
Wholeheartedly recommend. Great staff, great service, great room. The hotel is outside of the old town area, meaning the rooms are more spacious than many of the other hotels in the area. It's about 20-30 minutes walking to the nearby museums or to Old Town. I would highly recommend purchasing club-lounge access with this hotel as it includes breakfast in the lounge, breakfast in the restaurant (at the time of this posting), and a light dinner with beer/wine in the lounge. Light rail is outside the hotel (Line 1), although we just Ubered for very reasonable rates. My only knock against the hotel is permitting young children into the Regency Club lounge as it would disrupt the atmosphere (and disrupt the food - tongs vs hands). A great hotel, hope to visit again.

I stayed for almost 11 days during my business trip, and I would like to sincerely thank all the staff for making my stay so comfortable and pleasant. Every employee was kind, warm, and welcoming, and I truly appreciated the wonderful hospitality. I especially want to thank Jenny from the restaurant team, who always listened to my requests quickly and accurately, even during busy mornings. She made me feel genuinely cared for and well looked after. I will definitely visit again for my next business trip, and I would also love to return for a personal trip in the future. Thank you very much for your support, and I wish everyone good health (especially Jenny!). Have a wonderful day!

Our experience with this hotel was disappointing from the very first moments and clearly demonstrated how far reality can fall short of a declared five-star standard. Upon arrival, our group of eight — despite a long-standing reservation — could not be accommodated on the same floor. Check-in took approximately 25 minutes and was chaotic, with three employees assisting us simultaneously without any coordination. Several key cards did not work and did not grant access to the Club on the second floor. Immediately after check-in, we discovered that the hotel had removed the main guest from the reservation and reassigned it to another member of our group, even though the original main guest was the one paying for the stay on site. This was highly unprofessional and disrespectful. We ordered the welcome drink (prosecco) at 4:15 PM. When we asked about it again at 4:30 PM, we were told that welcome drinks are served only until 4:30 and that we would therefore no longer receive it. After requesting a manager, a man — presumably from management — approached our table, placed two bottles of prosecco on it without any explanation or apology, and left. The issue was not the prosecco itself, but the complete lack of communication, empathy, and basic service standards. The bartender’s arrogant attitude only worsened the situation. The biggest disappointment was the Club Lounge, for which an additional fee is charged. The Club operates from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, yet shortly after opening there was nowhere to sit. The atmosphere was nonexistent and felt more like a cheap cafeteria than a premium lounge. Soft drinks were hidden in drawers, glasses and cutlery were missing, tables were dirty, and food was not replenished. By 5:45 PM, there was practically nothing left. Charging extra for Club access is acceptable only if it provides a higher level of service, comfort, and atmosphere. In this case, it provided none of these. I was also surprised that when booking four rooms for three nights for over €5,000, the hotel made no effort whatsoever to create a sense of welcome or appreciation. There was no welcome note, no New Year’s greeting, no small gesture — nothing that would make guests feel valued. A five-star hotel should offer more than just a place to sleep. It should create an atmosphere and a genuine feeling of hospitality. Otherwise, it feels no different from staying in an Airbnb — and that should never be the case at this price level. Overall, first impresion was a complete failure to meet five-star standards.

This was my second visit, and I hope to return. The hotel is quiet (away from the touristy hustles) yet well located to tram and metro lines. The breakfast buffet is heavenly. Shout out to Yenny, who kindly remembered to order salmon eggs Benedict before I could request! The exercise room is well equipped and ventilated. The Indonesian restaurant is good, though hotel-pricey. Ditto for the bar, whose staff were super friendly. Truly, a home-away-from-home feel, remarkable in a large hotel.

Yelp
Cute place. I loved the water machine in the lobby and you can even get soda water out of it. The gym is pretty good for such a small little quaint, hotel. Everything's clean and the service is awesome. The Lebanese restaurant is amazing. Get the big sharing tower- it was the best. The eggrolls and the beef stew: the very first thing on the menu; are amazing- the beef stew they're able to make gluten-free. The bar and lounge are very cool hang out. They even have an atrium if you wish.

Yelp
I loved this hotel! The service was outstanding at the front desk. The lobby is super fun and trendy vibes. The location is great! Walking distance to everywhere. It's a bit far to the main city center, roughly 20 min but the hotel is situated next to 2 tram stops which can take you anywhere. Plenty of walking options in the local area as well. Close to some bars and coffee places. Overall location is perfect, just far enough outside the hustle and bustle! The room was well appointed. Bed was big and comfortable. Pillows could be better if I had to say one thing. Bathroom was clean. Amenities were stocked. The view was partial of the water, I liked it! We did not dine at the restaurant, but had some drinks at the bar. Super good! I can highly staying at recommend the Hyatt Regency, you won't regret it!

Yelp
Nice Hyatt for a short stay in Amsterdam. Easy access to the canals, the Jewish Quarter and the metro. The rooms were very spacious and modern. A nice surprise in Amsterdam. Nice gym, but after walking 24,000+ daily steps, we were not inclined to use it. So nice that they brought a beautiful birthday card and decorated chocolate cake to the room to celebrate my husband's birthday. Such a sweet touch, both literally and figuratively. A great way to start our European holiday. Definitely book a room with breakfast. What a delicious way to start the day in Amsterdam. Mama Makan Indonesian Kitchen is located in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in the Plantage District. Nice to be able to get a delicious breakfast each morning. Eggs were cooked to order. The salmon Benedict orders were served on a slice of brown bread with spinach. Add an avocado half on the side. Delicious! So many options on the breakfast buffet. Smoked salmon. Beets. Indonesian noodle salad. Fresh fruit. Sautéed vegetables. Roasted potatoes. Grilled cauliflower. Hummus. Yogurt. Lots and lots of cheese to try. Gouda. Blue cheese. Geitenkaas/Goat cheese. Dill havarti. Edam. Nice to sample so many tasty varieties. Pastries galore. Dutch pancakes. Madeleines. Scones. Freshly baked loaves of bread. Focaccia. Flatbreads. Indonesian pastries. The Indonesian layer cakes, spekkoek or lapis legit, are so beautiful and so delicious. Imagine the effort that goes into making a cake with eighteen thin layers. The cakes origin goes back to when the Dutch colonized Indonesia and married the European cake with local Indonesian spices. So delightful. Coffee, loose leaf tea, hot cocoa or freshly squeezed juices and fruit smoothies are all available. Different options were available each morning of our stay, but there were so many options that it made each day a unique dining experience. A great place for to stay a bit off the beaten path in Amsterdam.

Yelp
Great two night stay in April 2025. The Hyatt is a beautiful stylish hotel in a quieter neighborhood, but there is a subway stop that's a stone's throw away so it's a quick trip from Amsterdam Central station. Check in was very pleasant and the lobby feels like a large living room (with lots of plants) that has an energetic vibe and flows into the bar. Loved the rooms here with large floor to ceiling windows and plenty of light. The breakfast buffet is extensive and the restaurant (Indonesian!) and bar were also quite good. Definitely a nice spot for business or leisure travel.

Yelp
Our stay was really nice here! Check-in was a little complicated as their system was lagging so we had to wait 30 minutes, then after wait another hour or 2 for our room to be ready. The lobby was very nice and green and had great aesthetics. We went to a nearby coffee shop to kill time and grab a bite to eat. We were sooo exhausted from our flight (jet lag) Getting into our room I noticed that the ceiling was slanted, which is quite unique. Reminds me of Luxor in Las Vegas. The room was clean and fairly plain. Modern bathroom. The location was too bad, but not central. It's a little walk to get to a train station, but right in from is a bus stop. No perks. I did like that they had a filtered water station by the elevator downstairs and used glass water bottles in the room.

Yelp
Amazing service from check-in to check-out. Love how eco friendly this hotel is. We were close to public transportation but also very easy to walk around the neighborhood. We had a quaint view of the water. Comfortable bed and great breakfast options!

Yelp
I wouldn't recommend. An item of mine was stolen and our toiletries bag was slightly gone through with cologne out of the bag and used.

Yelp

Yelp
We had a lovely stay at this hotel with our first visit to Amsterdam. We loved the access to the Club lounge with the unlimited water and drinks which is so helpful during travels. We enjoyed the breakfast in the lounge but the restaurant breakfast was especially wonderful with some dishes from the Indonesian restaurant each morning. Staff was attentive and so friendly from Maxim in housekeeping helping us to set up the couch for our daughter and multiple requests with converters and questions, the restaurant servers to the front desk helping to print our boarding passes and helping with cabs. Highlight was April in the lounge who was so bright and cheerful to all visitors. Our one gripe is the bed was extremely hard but we got used to it over our stay!

Yelp
Hyatt Regency's are known by their large format business and conventional big box hotels with atriums spanning much of its interior. However, new properties are becoming less in size and more in design, comfort, and shall I say environmentally friendly? Location: 30 minutes away from Schiphol Airport via Metro, with light rail and a Metro station roughly a block away make this hotel superbly convenient. Much of the city center and a plethora of museums are just a short 15-20 minutes away. First Impression: no, there is not a massive atrium, but in place of that is lush greenery covering and hanging on the ceiling of the hotel lobby. This is among the smaller Hyatt Regency's and I quite like the homey and comforting design choices but remaining true to the brand with grays and purples. Even the room keys are bamboo adding to the green aspect. The Room: sometimes I forget that not all of Europe, or the rest of the world is keen of technological advancement. This was one of two hotels that I have visited during my trip across Europe that provided USB power outlets on either side of the beds and qi enabled wireless charger on the night stand. The hotels I've stayed at after Amsterdam required international adapters. The room itself felt very modern and new with ample square footage. Furniture and design keeps in tradition of grays and purples with the addition of floral paintings. The bathroom was also a highlight with large single vanity, backlit mirror, oversized walk in shower with rainfall, and a separate water closet. Service: Amsterdam-ians are known to be among the nicest Europeans one will ever meet, and this extends to this hotel property. Everyone that I came in contact with were not only eager to assist but were also interested in having an open ended conversation. I absolutely adore Amsterdam and now I have a choice hotel to stay at.

Yelp
It's the service that makes this hotel. The reception is multilingual and outstanding. My Hyatt status was recognized and I had a gorgeous room on the club floor with a view of a quiet canal. Great bathrooms. The shower door is a bit awkward as it is huge and blocks the toilet door but it's a giant, wonderful rain shower. The morning breakfast is outstanding...try the speculaas cake! The lobby has a bar with a pool table. The location is slightly out of the city center, and I usually just walked in which is about 20 minutes. Very modern, sparking clean and well run property. Small but well equipped 24 hour gym with a trainer present during the day. There are a lot of options in Amsterdam, but if you don't mind being a short walk outside the busy city center, this is a great choice.

Yelp
I am a loyal Hyatt user. Very, very rarely does a Hyatt disappoint, this property is no exception. It has an Indonesian theme, which is so welcoming after a very long day in Amsterdam. Everybody who worked there was fantastic particularly Oliver. The front desk was so nice. Just continued to be nice. Able to rent bikes from the hotel, front desk staff so accommodating for small requests. Highly recommend this property and it was really nice to not be in the direct hustle and bustle. The tram and metro are directly outside of the property making accessibility completely easy. The rooms are fantastic, luxurious & relaxing. Can't wait to return.

Yelp
This is a beautiful and modern hotel that is within a decent walking distance to many Amsterdam attractions. Decor is clean and consistent with a striking botanical theme. Rooms were sparkling and super spacious and the general atmosphere is calming and quiet. Had an amazing stay thanks to Gabriella! Would stay again and recommend to anyone.

Yelp
The location is a bit far from downtown but is close to the university! The price is good and quality of the room and service is quite good for a Hyatt Regency. Close tram stops to the hotel and a super market right across the street. Good place to stay if you don't mind taking tram everyday to get out.

Yelp
Stayed here for 3 nights on The Regency Club level. The room is spacious and the bathroom has a separate door for the toilet. The service, food selection, and variety of drinks at the club level is much better than expected. Great location and close to many restaurants and public transportation.

Yelp
Beautiful and modern place. Very welcoming front desk. Our room was clean and spacious but the best part was the view, one of the canals.

Alison P.

Yelp
Great location close to metro and tram line. I had a great room with an upgrade for the club regency lounge which gave us extra room and a place to hang out beyond the lobby. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and the hotel provided breakfast was very nice with a wide assortment.

Yelp
The new Hyatt Regency Amsterdam is a stunning addition to Hyatt destination hotels world wide. This hotel features the clean and modern design found in most Hyatt's and is perhaps closer to a Grand or Park Hyatt in amenities. If you are staying here on World of Hyatt points, it is a super value and a fabulous destination. Working the World of Hyatt desk on check in was Lena. She is super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about not only this hotel but other Hyatt properties world wide. Lena found us a wonderfully comfortable room and took care of all of my Globalist preferences. Its outstanding staff like Lena that keep me coming back to Hyatts over and over. This Regency also has a superb club room on the 2nd floor and a five star Indonesian restaurant on the ground floor. This Hyatt is located within walking distance to everything, and you can take the tram or metro found nearby to get around. This hotel has a very nice regency club where you will find Aprilla. She is super helpful and kind and makes a point of remembering every guest and their preferences. If you don't see food you can eat, just ask for something from the kitchen. Looking forward to the rest of my stay here!

Yelp
This was such a fantastic Hotel. Great location, excellent staff, and amazing customer service. Upon check-in I knew that I was going to feel right at home. The club lounge was one of the best I have been to since I've been very Hyatt loyal. They were very generous with their food and alcohol. My friend and I accidentally took two umbrellas to the train station that we're not meant to be kept. They contacted me very cordially and asked for them back. I was happy to leave them at the Starbucks before we left. Overall great communication. Two thumbs up for this Hyatt Regency. Keep up the good work.

Caroline S.

Yelp
We stayed at this Hyatt for three nights. It's a fairly new Hyatt. We stayed at the Club Level and enjoyed the club member benefit the first afternoon. LOCATION: It's right at the skirt of the city. The tram is so convenient, just 4 mins walk away. The neighborhood is very quiet. There's a college across the street. We enjoyed watching bikes coming by from our windonws. ROOM: The bed was the most comfortable one I have ever experienced. The A/C was perfect blowing at the correct direction with appropriate wind level. SERVICE: Definitely a top notch. We received so much helps and hospitality from everyone - check-in, breakfast, room cleaning, housekeeper. BREAKFAST: I love the fresh juice and hot breakfast. The pastry selection is the best. Overall, I'll certainly choose this Hyatt again if I return to AMS.

Yelp
Not exceptional service! And also not in a convenient location which was totally annoying.

Yelp
We stayed here with the Viking Grand European tour in August 2019. This Hyatt Regency did not meet our expectation. It is not a luxurious hotel like the ones in the US. It is not very large and not located in a central area for touring. My husband and I hopped on the subway which was fine for us but it was a long walk to any place you want to see. There were long lines to check in and no early check ins for people traveling over night from the states. The attendant was very snippy with us when we inquired about early check in. There was no concierge. The people checking us in doubled as concierge. I waited a good twenty minutes in line to check in while the attendant was helping the guests in front of me with maps, directions, suggestions etc. The hotel just wasn't equipped to handle the number of people brought in by Viking.

Saabviggen93 M.

Yelp
Weak offering from Hyatt. The rooms are poorly lighted, but worse still, they have an automaTed feature that turns off the light based on a motion sensor. The motion sensor in our room did not work well. Light went out when I was in the shower or on the toilet. The also spontaneously went off when standing in the entry way. Right now, they don't turn off. A call to reception about the issue was ignored. No one came to fix the lights all day. At 9 pm, I called the Manager again. He came to the room and pretended that the lights were functioning perfectly, until they turned off despite our moving directly under the sensor. I would have expected that my issue would have been investigated In the morning. Instead, the manager explained that since it was 9 pm, the engineers had gone home. he offered another room, but packing up when we are to leave at 5 am is just not convenient. Poor service. management acted like the guest was an idiot who could not work the lights, when in fact the lights are broken. As I write this, the sensor light has been on now for at least 45 minutes with no movement near the sensor.

Yelp
I stayed here for a week during a recent business trip to Amsterdam and couldn't have been more pleased with the service here. I am only a World of Hyatt "Member"--the lowest status tier on their loyalty program--but felt like royalty in the way the staff pampered me and catered to my various needs and requests. Unlike some of the other hotels in the area (the aged Hilton Amsterdam comes to mind), this place is truly worthy of 5 stars. The staff, amenities, facilities, and especially the food were all world class. I was upgraded (no questions asked) to a large suite--complete with an enormous bathroom--and even had access to the Club Lounge, which was tastefully and beautifully appointed. I'd come back here just for the breakfast buffet in the morning at Mama Makan's, which rivaled some of the fanciest spreads I've seen in a hotel. While this building is a smaller Hyatt Regency, it's certainly one of the more unique and upscale ones at which I've ever stayed. Bravo to the staff for their courtesy and outstanding service!
