Hyatt Offers Free COVID Testing at Mexico, Caribbean Hotels - AFAR

"Through May 31, 2021 this resort is offering complimentary on-site COVID-19 testing (PCR or rapid antigen) for up to two registered guests per room to help travelers meet the U.S. CDC's pretravel testing requirement of a negative test within 72 hours. Complimentary tests require a minimum length of stay that varies by property and additional on-property tests can be purchased. If a guest tests positive and must delay travel, participating properties generally allow extended stays of up to 14 additional nights at a travel-delay rate of up to 50% off the standard room rate and up to 30% off food and beverage (excluding alcohol). I had an amazing stay at this resort during my trip to Aruba last October. From the gorgeous property to the friendly staff, there wasn’t anything to complain about! One of the best selling points was the prime location of the resort - being walking distance from their busy/touristy downtown area that comes alive at night with bustling shops and restaurants. My favorite part was lounging all day on the private beach and then coming back to my comfy bed at the end of the day. Will definitely visit again!

First - my review is coming from the perspective of someone who expects value for price paid. This is a very expensive hotel, so expectations are high. Pros - it is centrally located on Palm Beach. If Palm Beach is where you want to be, then this location is excellent, and the beach here is very nice and wide. The grounds are beautiful, and the adult pool is stunning. The lobby is also very pretty. Cons - while most of the staff are very nice, I do not think that the level of service matches the price. The staff that checked us in did not seem to have a good handle on their role. We were not told that there was a daily automatic charge for housekeeping, and also an automatic gratuity for the bell staff. Therefore, we ended up tipping cash on top of this charge. We also had poor service at the bar near the pool. Keep in mind that this is a bar where the average drink costs US$25-30. Rooms are on the smaller side with tiny balconies, but beds are comfy. Finally, there is a reservation system for pool and beach chairs, which is quite ridiculous. You can reserve chairs up to four months in advance, and what this results in, is a lot of empty chairs that someone who walks up cannot use as they are being held for hopefully someone to show up and claim the reservation. For me, the cons outweighed the pros. Eagle beach is nicer, and if I return to Aruba, I will rent a place along that stretch, for likely half the price.

This was our 5th stay at this resort and it seems like it gets better each time. The thing that stands out is that the entire resort seems to be very well run. Every department is friendly and helpful whether it be at check in, housekeeping, beach/pool, concierge, or at the restaurants. We really like that they keep control of the umbrella and chairs at both the beach and the pools. You can reserve specific locations and not have to fight for chairs. We have been to other resorts where guests run down and put there belonging on chairs to "save them" early in the morning each day. What a relief not to have to do that here! We had a great dinner at the Ruinas del Mar restaurant. Abilene was a fantastic and attentive server. The management staff was incredible in helping me make this another special stay. My wife has stage 4 cancer and has some limitations. We shared this with the staff when making our original reservation and they were very attentive to her needs. The result was a perfect vacation. We really felt like we were special the entire trip. We totally recommend this resort for anyone considering going to Aruba.

We really enjoyed staying at this resort. Easy access to beach and excursions. Nice pools with a fabulous swim up bar. The rooms were modern and had floors instead of rugs. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The restaurants on site were delicious and sophisticated. Very nice nightlife. They had a great gelato shop on site that was opened until 11pm. The casino was very clean and nice. Overall the place was fantastic and would definitely stay there again.

Hotel itself is nice. Too loud at night. Exhausted travelers coming from foreign time zones BEWARE: 7:30 am outdoor yoga. The leaf blower starts 8 am. Why I don’t know. Bingo telling numbers 4 pm. Saxophone player and DJ are hired 7 pm until 10 pm. Then across the road a nightclub blaring techno beats until 3 am!!!! Slept with earplugs entire time was woken up several times. Need a break from that area overall it’s called Palm Beach, my god. Too loud.

Adult pool completely in shade unless having a cabana. Incredibly bad service if sitting on beach. Reserved front row on beach, and paid for it, only to have non hotel guests plop down in front of us. Good bars however, and food served at pool was good.

Very loud music from the nightclub across the street that kept us up till 3 am every single night even after we switched rooms! Sleep is one thing I look for in a relaxing vacation and this was not it. The lunch was good breakfast really bad. Coffees were great! Service is slow but your on island time. Only other thing I noticed is if you request top shelf liquor they don’t actually give you it! Watched them make our martini with a lower shelf liquor and then lie about it when we called it out. For the price I’d expect a lot better! The Beach chairs were the best out of all the other hotels , close to all the restaurants and bars, and the pool slide and swim up was great! We had a great time just wish we could’ve slept!
