"Luxury Lodging in Downtown Calgary Located right downtown on Centre Street, The Hyatt Regency provides more than a luxurious place to sleep in Calgary. It’s more of a swank home base for exploring the entire city. The Olympic Plaza and Calgary Tower are both within a few minutes' walk of the hotel and, off to the west, the Canadian Rockies are within view. The Glenbow Museum is only five minutes away, and its collection of Western Canadian history is the perfect starting point for an Alberta adventure. If you are more interested in the sights and sounds of the city, just walk out the hotel’s side door onto the Stephen Avenue Pedestrian Mall. And, whenever you get tired, the comforts of the Hyatt Regency will help recharge your batteries."

While the exterior of the Hyatt is drab, there is much to love about it. Yes, the rooms are well appointed and the staff is gracious and pleasant. The 18th floor pool, hot tub, sauna and fitness room are beautiful and well maintained. Having a changing room and swimsuit wringer at the fitness area was very useful. The view doesn't suck. I always appreciate plush bathrobes which we used throughout our stay. Filtered and UV purified drinking water in the room was an unexpected find also well utilized through our stay. The cafe on the lobby level offered delicious and healthy snacks, including fresh fruit and veggie wraps, unusual for a hotel. There is a spa on property, two restaurants on property and endless restaurants on Stephen avenue, easily accessed through the side entrance. There was live music in the lobby on the weekend. If you are not inclined to walk or drive, you can rent a scooter or use the tram which is located right behind the hotel and has free service between five downtown stops. There is on-site self-pay parking available which is very convenient but operated by an outside vendor. We encountered glitches using it though it was finally fixed.

Fantastic location. So close to downtown - the Calgary Tower, CTrain and restaurants and night life on Stephan St. 5 min walk to Chinatown. Yet quiet and peaceful.||Nice pool and hot tub on 18 floor. ||We left on July 3rd but saw lots of people check in for the Stampede starting July 4th.

Nice hotel, great location. Very good room service menu. Bed was comfortable. Room was well appointed and clean (with a few imperfections). Some of the furniture was a bit scuffed, but overall the room seemed in good condition. Guest services were efficient and friendly.

Great hotel for business travellers. Perfect location with tons of eateries and bars within walking distance. While lobby is a bit dated, the rooms have been recently renovated and are extremely well appointed and comfortable. Very quiet at night. The rooftop gym is truly excellent, good equipment for cardio and weights and very decent size. There is also a pool. Friendly service.

Clean, comfortable, and perfectly located downtown—loved my stay at the Hyatt Regency Calgary! The rooms are spacious with great city views, and the indoor pool, sauna, and spa were a relaxing bonus. Staff were friendly, and having a 24‑hour gym and coffee shop onsite made everything easy. A solid pick whether you're in town for work or exploring, definitely coming back!

A family member booked us the room using their Hyatt points so we received "guest of honor" benefits, which included a room on a higher floor (with somewhat of a view), late check out, access to the Hyatt Regency club and even a welcome maple chocolate bar! The beds were comfortable, bathrooms clean (even had a drinkable water dispenser at the bathroom sink) and a coffee/tea pod maker in the room. The location of the hotel was convenient - located in the heart of downtown, walkable to restaurants and the calgary tower (great views of this directly outside the hotel too). The hotel parking can be pricey but the hotel provided other nearby cheaper parking options which worked out great for us. Also appreciated being able to briefly park outside the hotel for check in and check out since we had people in our party with accessibility needs. All of the staff, particularly at the front desk, that we interacted with were great. The Regency Club was a bit disappointing with the options, but can't complain about free perks. Would stay at the hyatt regency if we were to return to calgary!

All staff in all aspects exceeded expectations and delivered a fantastic experience for 40+ family and friends. We enjoyed the Thomsons bar particularly, with Teville making great cocktails and accommodating larger parties. Another great Hyatt experience.

Booked my stay at the Hyatt Regency Calgary six months ahead with Hyatt points. Also booked another room for my nieces with points couple months later. But we are treated totally different. ||I was assigned to an accessible room with 1 king when my confirmation says nothing about accessible room and 2 queens. When I inquired about it I was told that was the only room left as the hotel is full. So the confirmation meant nothing more than an empty promise?||Now another thing is as a Hyatt member I was not offered the same values as my nieces, whom I booked their room with my Hyatt points. ||My nieces were offered the access to the Hyatt Regency club, free breakfast and late check out. ||I asked the front desk about it and was told that's how it works. I wondered if I could be offered at least some of their perks. She just kept on shaking her head. Apparently they were trained to deny any request. The best she could do is to offer me the same package, not including late checkout for $50 instead of $90. I wonder what kind of logic, or marketing Hyatt is using. Once you become a Hyatt member you are hooked forever and they can ignore you? Well there's always other choices when it comes to hotels. Hyatt better not be too sure about its customers loyalty if they are treated this way.||As for the room I am staying in...the carpet is so old and dirty. I saw quite a few good reviews on this Hyatt and was looking forward to my stay. With my own experience and the mistreatment of being a Hyatt member I am not very happy with my stay here.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay at Hyatt Regency Calgary Downtown. The location was very convenient and walkable to Chinatown. The double bed room is spacious with all the basic amenities, including a Keurig machine. The bed was very comfortable with clean and new linens. The bathroom is stocked with high end toiletries and filtered and UV purified drinking water to avoid plastic bottle! Love that idea. Our friend is a Globalist, so we have access to the Hyatt Regency Lounge to enjoy breakfast (7-10am), hors d'oeuvre (5-7pm), desserts (7-9pm) and 24/7 coffees, teas and juices on the 18th floor. Food was great! The front desk and staffs are all friendly and courteous. I'll definitely stay here again in the future.

Yelp
We only booked here because we planned a last minute trip to Banff and had trouble finding lodging, but I had a wonderful time at this Hyatt! The staff is super friendly and accommodating, the bed is comfy, tv is huge, and I'm going to miss the shower and in-room water filter. They also have an indoor pool on the 18th floor overlooking the city that is semi-heated so it was a good temperature to swim in. We stayed right before Stampede day and they decorated the lobby and dressed up which was super cute! I even think they used real 100 dollar bills in their decor....but I'll never know for sure

Yelp
Horrible. Book elsewhere. The check-in process was unfriendly, not the least bit welcoming, yet extremely lengthy. I'm writing this review from the hotel lobby since they apparently fumbled my room and it's not ready. This is not how you want to spend your first moments after a long day of international flights. Both employees I've interfaced with have been incredibly rude. After a very long wait, one of them basically tossed my key at me without so much as a word of apology or welcome or anything. Is this how Hyatt Regency in Calgary treats international customers? Appalling.

Yelp
So much fun!!! I didn't know what to expect but this hotel and downtown Calgary turns out to be so much fun. I came here for Banff trip. Wasn't sure if I wanted to be in Banff the whole time or stay at both places. Glad I did both. This hotel is right smack in downtown, right next to Calgary tower. And the saddledome arena is in the views. I came in April and it was still very cold and freezing in. Calgary. Ice cold! No one's outside waking cold. The room was nice and spacious. Regency club was great. Breakfast isn't that great but afternoon/ evening snacks were fantastic. Also, having an access to coffee/ drinks/ fruit all day is a win in my book! They also had a fun Thai seafood curry one day. That's a good snack. Lobby was super high ceiling, super welcoming. I had the club room and it was behind a double door: very welcoming as well. The pool was smaller but nice. Hot tub was the best with Calgary tower views. The restaurant in the hotel was cute: a ok food but very friendly people. The best part: my flight was canceled due to a bird strike! A bird flew into the engine and causing the airline to cancel flights for 3 whole days!! Insanity. The hotel was very accommodating! And I appreciated that. I was able to extend my usual 4 pm check out to later thanks to them. And it definitely helps with finding a very late night and expensive flight home instead of waiting 4 extra nights. Good location, beautiful and clean! And the service was great. I'll be back!!

Yelp
The best hotel stay in the Banff National Park area. Valet parking was quite expensive but was the only option available if you don't want to go through hassle of street parking. The hotel is decent and as expected from a Hyatt property.

Yelp
We had great time there. So clean and quiet. Our room had a great view. Pool was clean. If you're looking for a nice hotel to relax is great.

Yelp
The hotel is nice enough but if you are trying to do business a simple warning. There is no functional WiFi in the guest rooms. if you need Wi-Fi while staying in Calgary stay elsewhere.

Yelp
I am so glad I managed to book this place. It is a good location in downtown Calgary and easy to get around on foot if you are just in downtown core and do not intend to get out. Plus the city train is just there. It is also near a few car rental places so it is easy to check in, drop off the car and walk back. That was what I did. The staff and service were excellent. Everyone we encountered were polite, friendly and helpful. We got to the hotel late at night and the staff let us parked our rental car temporarily at the driveway area while we checked in and even told us to just go to the room first to put our belongings before moving the car. That was unexpected. Kudos. The room assigned to us was lovely and comfortable. It was conveniently on the Regency Club floor where the gym and pool were. So that made it easy for us to just access the place at anytime during the opening hours. The pool and whirlpool were gorgeous, overlooking the city. And it was so relaxing to chill in the hot tub after a long day of walking and exploring downtown. The side of the bathtub was quite high and a bit slippery (bath mat provided), so be careful if you have mobility issue. But a handrail was on the wall so that helped to keep you from slipping or falling. There are no bottled water as hyatt has moved to providing a filtered tap for drinking water in the bathroom. Just fill your own bottle and glass. The hotel is also used for convention or events so you do see many people here. The lobby and public areas are nicely furnished with plenty of art - paintings and sculptures. The food at the restaurant is good too. Pretty all inclusive like the Hyatt in other major cities and countries. I will definitely want to stay here again if I'm ever in Calgary again. Oh and parking is $29 for the entire day. Flat rate.

Yelp
Just Amazing. This Place Had Everything! First off, extremely clean room, very spacious. Ordered room service, they did end up messing it up the first time, but came back with the food correct, and AN APOLOGY CAKE! The Head Supervisor was very kind to us and apologized for the inconvenience. Food Was DELICIOUS! 10/10. And that's not it. The hotel also held a grand gym and a pretty nice pool, but the best part of this were the restrooms. They each held a giant shower with everything u need, a sink and toilet. Very nice and fancy. Restaurant on the first floor was exquisite. Can't say anything bad about this hotel. 100/10

Yelp
This feedback is not in regards to the staff at Hyatt Calgary or the rooms, in fact, their rooms are amazing (I love how they have a tap that has UV filtered water) and the staff was amazing. My wife and I even visited the Stillwater Spa and the staff there was top-notch as well! This review is rather for one manager in particular named Agnes at Thomsons. We recently stayed one night at Hyatt Calgary for my wife's business trip and to take in the Canucks game. We were early so we hung out in the lobby where they have the long tables so that my wife can get some work done. We had to use the washroom so one of the front desk walked us to the restaurant to use their washroom and said feel free to use the washrooms here whenever we needed to. On the day we checked out, we stayed for a bit at the long tables again so my wife can continue to do some more work as we had a late evening flight that day. I had to use the washroom but this time to my surprise, Agnes, the manager at Thomsons would not allow me and demanded a key card. I told her we had checked out already but she still said no and that I needed a key card. I even showed her my reservation on m phone but she said if I didn't have a key card I couldn't use their washrooms. Dismayed, I went back and got a key card from the front desk (thankfully they were very apologetic about this). I showed her the key card and she reluctantly allowed me to use their facilities. After I came out, I'll admit I was frustrated so I told her that she can't treat people that way. She stated they have homeless problem where people come in and use their washrooms. Normally I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I guess she thought I was homeless so I actually asked her "Do I look homeless to you?" She wouldn't give me a response and just said that was her policy because she is the manager of the restaurant. There was definitely no apology from her. I told her I'll let her decide on how to deal with the homeless problem but I'll be speaking with the manager at the front desk as the staff there had instructed us to use the washroom at Thomsons. I walked back to the long tables where my wife was and told her we should start packing up our things and head to the airport. If this whole experience wasn't incredible enough, the next part gets more ridiculous because as we were packing up our things, Agnes walks over and demands my name. I asked "Why?" and she said "Well, you know my name so I want to know yours" and she proceeds to point to her name tag. I told her my name and she then asks for my last name to which I replied with "No." At this point, she rushes, not walks, to the front desk to speak with the staff there, to which I can only guess she wanted to confirm that I had actually stayed at the hotel. Since I had a key card to return, I, too, walked over to the front desk to return it. The staff there confirmed that I had in fact stayed there for the one night and thanked me for returning the key card. At this point, she then proceeds to be quite defensive still and in a mean and cold tone said "Sir, you have to understand..." to which I cut her off and said "I don't know why you're still speaking with me" and thanked the front desk staff then left. Again, the Hyatt front desk was very apologetic. I sincerely believe this type of behaviour needs to be corrected and addressed. There was a younger girl at the host stand at the restaurant and she was completely the opposite. Friendly, warm and very kind. She even buzzed me in on the day I had checked out so I could use their washrooms. If anyone should be manager, it should be her because she embodied what staying at Hyatt should be. Although I didn't dine at the restaurant, I will 100% never visit this restaurant or go near it. What was supposed to be a happy vacation for me has now turned sour. There are many hotels in that area and due to this experience at I'd rather stay at another hotel in the future.

Yelp
We just went for dinner last night, the Christmas buffet dinner was amazing- I will post photos here, you cannot have any problem with the food whatsoever... My favourite thing by far was the roast beef which is always been my favourite meal and I stood in line twice to get one, they ran out just before I had my plate filled but fortunately they had a replacement within minutes so that was good and the desserts are unbelievable... The sticky toffee pudding with the butterscotch sauce was spectacular... However the cleaning staff should definitely check their bathrooms more often, when I was there last night four out of five stalls were filthy and there was toilet paper all over the floor. In total the meal cost me over $500 which is a lot of money for three people and no alcohol.... You would expect cleaner bathrooms for this price. Plus the lobby is really really really tiny but obviously that's something that's too late to fix. Also the cattlecall for the 6 PM sitting for Christmas buffet dinner was absolutely crazy- in the lineup went in two different directions with no organization and the wait is very very long and confused and considering a lot of people still have Covid and nobody wore masks it was very uncomfortable.

Yelp
We stayed at the Hyatt Calgary for just a night. We were planning to rest a night after flying in from SFO. It turned out well since our flight was delayed 2-3 hrs and we had dinner reservations at Blink. The hotel is huge and is a few steps away from Calgary Tower. It could easily host a large conference or other big venue. The week I arrived happened to be Calgary Pride Week, so the entire parking lot was full and many streets were blocked off. Luckily the bellman showed me where to park for free across the street. Things I liked about the hotel: + Spacious, comfortable rooms with powerful shower, mostly comfy beds (firm mattress, but wished pillows were softer). + Gym: Small, but clean and equipped with machines, dumbbells, and cardio equipment. They have a pool and jacuzzi too. + Wifi: Free and powerful. + Restaurants: Thomsons is an excellent brunch buffet that I'll review separately. They also have a decent coffee shop with pastries, snacks, and sundries. Things I didn't like as much: - No restrooms in the lobby area - in fact you need to sneak through the bar of Thomsons. - Limited self and valet parking. The driveway to access the lot is rather narrow, and I was surprised it filled up that quickly. Overall, an excellent hotel. I would stay here again if I come to Calgary in the future.

Yelp
Just spent five night there for a convention. The hotel is gorgeous, the rooms are very large and comfy, the staff was wonderful. The internet service (although excellent) is very pricey, as is the parking. Luckily, my rate included the wireless in the room and I didnt have a vehicle. The Regency level perks are amnazing- a very wide choice of breakfast items (french toast, eggs, sausage, smoked salmon, cereal, fruit, yogurt, pastries, on and on and on. Plus the afternoon snacks and beverages, and desserts. Worth every penny for this service I have to give a shout out to a young lady named Claire who was working in the Regency Level last night. I wanted to print my boarding pass, and she helped me with the apple computer and touchpad mouse (I never used either before). She just whipped through the steps and before I knew it, she brought the printed documents right to me. She was bright, very courteous, and had a terrific personality. I hope management recognizes her value to their company. The only real problem I had here was in our final minutes at the hotel, and it might not have even been the hotel's fault. We asked them to arrange an airport van for our party of four at 4:45 AM. We confirmed it. It never showed up and we had to cram 4 big guys and their bags into a taxi. It wasn't a pretty sight.

Yelp
Very nice place. Had teachers convention here and in the Telus Convention Centre. There is a nice coffee shop in the hotel called bakers. The only issue is since you have a connection to the Telus science centre sometimes they have the street people on here and they don't kick them out ...

Yelp
This review is for the hotel only: * CHECKING IN: Checking in was smooth and easy. To go up to our hotel room using the lift/elevator you have to have your room card key to swipe before selecting what floor you would like to go to which is great for security. * THE ROOM: Our room was spacious! It was very generous. Ours was on a corner so it almost felt more like an apartment than a hotel room. The room is fantastic and I can't fault it... great talking point is the HUGE TV!!!! It felt like a cinema in the room. * Toiletries are provided which is always a really nice touch. * The bathroom we had was an immaculate double shower. * HOTEL GYM: The hotel has a small gym, warm swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room which we were thankful for and is worth checking out. At the time we went it was very quiet in the fitness centre so pretty much felt like we had the place to ourselves! They have a spa too but can't comment as didn't use the spa services. * FOOD AND DRINK: The hotel does provide room service but there isn't a dedicated restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner (FYI). Downstairs is a cafe, there is also a pub/bar/grill diner place which looked nice and also busy which is a good sign. Upstairs was a convention center / conference area. We weren't worried about this due to the location of the hotel, we knew were going to be able to easily grab food from the surrounding cafes and restaurants. And if it came to it we could just order room service if we wanted to. * LOCATION: let's talk about the hotel location - perfect! A short walk from the CORE shopping center & Devonian Gardens where you can eat and hang out, there's downtown shops selling winter gear and sports shops and fashion shops.. shopping is great here!!! It's a stones throw from Chinatown!! It's next to the Olympic Plaza & Town Hall and also the "Wonderland" sculpture. It's easy to get to places here. We walked to and around the big park (just north of Chinatown) where there are a lot of runners. We crossed a bridge over Memorial Drive to climb wooden stairs up a hill to enjoy the splendid skyline view. You can do A LOT in a day here! * SUMMARY: I would definitely recommend staying here!

Yelp
I have come to the Hyatt in Calgary for years!!!! My daughter is and Irish dancer and never had a problem. Today I can not say that is the case I was in the second floor seating area minding my own business. I had my eyes closed as I was meditating during a podcast I was listening to. The security guard came and informed me I needed to leave as I could not be there. I stated I was meditating and listening to a pod cast. He told me to leave I said I will keep my eyes open. He lef. Came back and stated I had to leave for safety. At first I questioned. He insisted and I finally left the area. I am shocked by the lack of hospitality!!!!!! I will think twice before I will register my daughter for another Feis here!

Yelp
This note is taking account that this hotel is participating in mandatory COVID hotel selection. We have check in this morning under the mandatory quarantine act imposed by the government in power. The room are spacious, comfortable, staff is friendly, polite. The room is clean. For people checking in under COVID mandatory 3 day stay be informed they have a limited menu that does not meat the Canadian food guideline. There is several choices but I would not considered them under the Canadian guideline. They told me that the menu has been approved as it is by the gouvernement. So what you hear from the actual Primer Minister is then not the case. It would be so easy to provide cereal and milk for the morning breakfast, yogurt but no they do not have any milk available, no milk product available. No fruits. The menu provide you with high glucide muffin, raisin bread, plain muffin. Few choice available for lunch and diner includes burgers and friends, which were barely warm when we received our meal, the pop or water is a choice, cola was warm but I am told I can request ice. Briefly, this is only my first day and I will report further during my stay. Otherwise that the menu, which I have to say I did not expect much for an hotel that as to catered outside food. Pretty much empty words from the gouvernement leader, easy say but once more you are prisoner under the quarantine act there is not much you can do. The government failed to deliver again. Don't blame the hotel and for this reason they still deserve a four stars.

Yelp
Calgary's Hyatt Regency hotel made for a convenient home base during my recent stay at Calgary. About 15 minutes from Calgary's beautiful new airport, the hotel's right off of the Stephen Avenue pedestrian mall, the main shopping stretch in the downtown commercial core. The hotel is also right next to C-Train stations with Red and Blue Line service, making it uber-convenient to get around the parts of the city served by light rail. The 17th Avenue restaurant district is also very easy to get to, less than 10 minutes away by car. The best thing about this property is the staff. Every single staff member I interacted with was incredibly friendly and accommodating, from Franco at check-in to the lovely staff in the Regency Club to the very nice gentleman on the housekeeping staff who made up my room each day, all sincerely wanting to make sure that their guests were well taken care of during their stay. While the common areas downstairs are quite lovely and appear to be recently renovated, the rooms, while comfortable, do need a bit of updating. As I was walking from the elevator to my room, I quickly noticed that the guest floors were showing their age in places, with a lot of the guest room doors desperately in need of a fresh coat of paint, a bit dingy and marked up by their fair share of roller bags over the years - first impressions... My room was comfortable but average in every way, sparsely decorated and looking quite different from the pictures on the Hyatt web site, where the photographer was able to make the rooms look much more luxe than they actually are. A big plus is the large picture window, making the living space feel bigger. The bathroom was disproportionately huge, square footage that would have been better-used as part of the living space. The bed is quite comfortable and, as someone who usually doesn't sleep well on my first night in a hotel, I was out like a light. It was nice to have Regency Club access, especially in the morning, where the breakfast offerings are quite generous, with both hot and cold options, as well as healthy options for those wanting a lighter start to the day. The staff was constantly checking in with guests, making sure we had everything we needed, truly great ambassadors for the hotel. My morning experiences in the Club were much more pleasant than those in the early evening, strictly due to the layout of the Club - it's way too tight with a hard-to-navigate layout when there are more than just a few guests in the Club. I also noticed that the layout made it harder for these diligent staff members to do their jobs - honestly, who thought it was a good idea to put the dishwasher and a prep area in a corner of the public club area? Do your staff a favor: knock out the guest room next to the Club and give them ample room to do what they do so well! So, all in all, a pleasant and comfortable stay, with the five-star staff knocking it out of the park. The guest floors and Regency Club really do need to be updated, pushing my overall rating down. I've covered the hotel's Sandstone Lounge in a separate review (https://www.yelp.com/list/calgary-gateway-to-the-rockies-calgary).

Yelp
Newly renovated hotel in the heart of downtown Calgary. I was in town for a conference and stayed 5 nights. Lower floors are remodeled and higher floors will be remodeled soon. I know for a fact that level 7 and 9 are for sure remodeled - totally worth the request at check in to stay in these rooms. At check in, I was greeted by a very friendly front desk agent. I was fighting a cold and he could tell. He gave me 2 water bottles to stock up in the room and suggested a tea remedy he used when he was sick. I very much appreciated that! Being so far from home, it was nice to have someone taking care of you. The hotel is connected to the convention center which is very convenient for business travel. It is close to many restaurants within walking distance. Cabs are never hard to find. There is a mall 3-4 blocks up as well as a Winners (TJ Maxx equivalent), the Calgary Tower is 2 blocks up as is the Waterford Statue. The location can't get any better. They offer free bike rentals, we did not partake, but it would have been nice if we had more time. There is room service and a quick service shop that has refreshments, snacks and travel necessities just off the lobby. The views are great, the staff even better, the meals were great as well. I would love to return to Calgary and stay at this hotel!

Yelp
Very nice hotel located in the heart of downtown Calgary where you can walk right out and get any food and shopping you want. I stayed in a club level room and was amazed with how comfy cozy and clean the room was. It also was very updated with nice amenities. We had a beautiful walk in shower with a rain head, radiant heat for the floors, massive tv and a really soft bed. Only down side was that they say they can help make recommendations and even reservations to restaurants for you and when my husband went to talk to someone about doing that she looked at him like he was an alien. She acted like she didn't know any restaurants and that making a reservation was impossible. Kind of odd since they offer this service. Other than that, my husband and I really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend them to anyone traveling to Calgary.

Yelp
I'm a platinum Marriott member. I'm also Hilton honors status. So when I'm impressed by a hotel it goes a long way. This hotel impressed me. From check in through even my losing an item after check out, the service was perfect. Maybe it's Canadians, maybe it's Hyatt, but every person went above and beyond. I was there for a conference and my booth needed to be shipped FedEx. Not knowing what to do, I went to the concierge. Paige recruited help from another employee who used to work at the post office so together and with a call to FedEx we figured out the requirements for shipping. Paige helped me make copies of the paperwork (cause it's needed in triplicate) and got Ryan to help me get my booth downstairs. They helped me match up my forms to the labels and didn't make me feel rushed, silly, or like I was a bother. Nelson at the front desk was so helpful on check in. She even got me signed up for a matching rewards program so I'm now an elite Hyatt member. She did all the leg work for me. The beds were cozy and the workout room was perfect with free weights, cardio, AND machines. I left a jacket in my room. When connected with housekeeping, I got a call 20 min later that they found it and arranged to have it shipped to me. It was so seamless and helpful!! So thank you to everyone who made my time in Calgary great. I didn't get to go out much but with that level of service and hospitality there was no need to!

Yelp
Great location in downtown Calgary. It's fairly easy to get in and out of the downtown area by jetting down Centre street. It's also within extremely close walking distance to many restaurants and shops, right out of the back door of the hotel. Nelsen was provided terrific customer service to us upon our arrival. Our room wasn't quite ready but she was very helpful in calling us right as it was done being cleaned and pointing us in the direction of a restaurant for lunch while we waited. She made sure our bags were waiting in our room before we returned so we didn't have to wait on them. My only complaint was the night club behind the hotel. We were on the 12th floor and on Saturday night could very clearly hear the base of the music until very late. It kept us up, so I would recommend asking to stay on the Centre Street side of the hotel. Also- be prepared for nearly $50 in extra fees and taxes per day, as well as $29 in self parking. I understand that parking downtown is expensive but $29 seemed really steep for paying hotel guests. **3.5 stars: 1 star for the spacious room, 1 star for location and 1.5 star for customer service.

Yelp
We stayed at the Hyatt in Vancouver last year, so we thought, let's make it a theme when we go to Canada. We got an upper floor king suite with a view on a corner for $124 a night and they gave us free parking. From the minute we got here they treated us great. I had noted that it was going to be our 26th anniversary in the notes section when I booked. When we got to our room they had chilled champagne and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us. I was absolutely floored that they took the time to do that for us. The room was very comfortable and as night fell we pulled our chairs over to the windows and kicked our feet up to enjoy the night lights. We had gone to the 18th floor to enjoy the hot tub and pool, both have a view of the Tower. We had the whole place to ourselves for an hour before people started to show up. The Hyatt is located one block from the the Calgary Tower and shopping. I wouldn't stay anywhere else but this location when in Calgary.

Yelp
Back again to the Hyatt, which is growing on me.....I come pretty often for business and it is really quite satisfactory!!! Positives: * Great free wifi!!! For 6 devices! Stays connected and works. * Great pool and steam room, fabulous exercise center. * Quiet well insulated rooms. I slept through some kind of thunderstorm. * Clean with comfortable beds. I am in LOVE with CATCH, the oyster bar in the lounge area. Incredible food! The Sandstone lounge and fireplace are also quite nice with better than average hotel food. Room service is also really good- great selection. It is easy to be healthy here.

Yelp
As to be expected with a top-notch hotel, this is one fine lobby, or lobbies. When you walk in, two magnificent seating areas while checking in a L-shaped check-in desk. Modern decor. Not quite the grand roof at the lobby, but it's spacious for a handful of taxis. $29 overnite parking, still cheaper than the $50 in San Fran a few months ago lol. Right now, there's a great deal going on for the weekend: $75 spa gift card for each nite ;)

Yelp
I enjoyed staying at the Hyatt. All the employees are helpful and customer service is an A+. The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. I have to say the food that was ordered during room service was an A++. The Alberta steak bites was heavenly and wonderfully flavorful and spicy. The meat was moist and juicy. The healthy green salad with local chevre and grilled chicken was finding its way to one side of my stomach. Lastly, the beef burger and goat cheese with a side of greens literally put me in a food coma. I gave each plate a good amount of attention before washing it down with a bottle of pan a. Great hotel!!! Great amenities!!!

Yelp
I do not travel to this part of the county too often, however when I do I will always stay here. I come up for an annual conference, therefore needing to rent a car and knowing all the time where one needs to go for food and entertainment can at times be daunting. Staying at this hotel is well worth the extra price you may pay. Being only a block from the tower, and located on the very same street of most all the best restaurants in town, this hotel is greatly situated. Also being that the conference is held at the fairgrounds, having the tram pick you up and drop you off right in front of your hotel is priceless!! For the hotel itself, it's still a hotel however the staff is always attentive, friendly and always willing to lend a hand. The concierge desk is very good at what they do and make asking for anything a simple snap. You would expect this at your ultra posh hotels, but you are afforded this here as well. Plenty of restaurants in the hotel make not leaving the hotel during your stay a great option as well. From a very nice bar, to Oyster shack to a sit down dinner you have it all right here at your finder tips. The gym on the 18th floor is fantastic and the views are great as well. Although you may be spending a good amount of money for your hotel per night, this is definitely the place to stay!!

Yelp
As a native Calgarian, I usually stay with family when I come for a visit. However, extenuating circumstances allowed me a chance to spend a night at the Hyatt and I was very much impressed. To start, the staff were exactly as you'd expect from a high-end hotel like this: professional, friendly, and helpful. They were more than willing to offer us late checkout at no additional cost (we like to sleep in okay??) and were incredibly knowledgeable about what restaurants in the area were open as Calgary downtown tends to shutdown on Sunday nights. Similarly, the room was great. Besides the comfy bed (which is obviously the most important part of a hotel room) I particularly enjoyed our 12th floor view and how surprisingly spacious it was, considering we had only booked the most basic room offered. I only have one real complaint and since it's petty, I'm not going to let it affect my 5 star rating: I absolutely hate it when the in-suite minibar is completely stocked with items you have to pay for. I get it. You want to sell me overpriced booze and sodas. However, it would be nice if you left a small refrigerated space to store things like dinner leftovers or keep personal drinks cool. Otherwise I completely enjoyed my stay here and would definitely recommend it to anyone else visiting the city.

Yelp
We recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Calgary. It is an older hotel in a great location for first time visitors. We had two rooms on the 16th floor and as requested, were next door to each other. The rooms were OK (basic hotel rooms). They were cleaned daily to our satisfaction and restocked properly. The staff was professional and able to assist us with any questions and/or requests. The train right outside the hotel was convenient for going to and from the Calgary Zoo. All in all, a nice hotel but missing any wow factor. Our biggest disappointment was the Regency Club Lounge on the 18th floor. If a hotel has a club lounge we usually request it. This one was a total afterthought. It was merely a hotel room converted into a club lounge. Tables and chairs were everywhere, making it very challenging to move about the room. The food offerings were in a very small, awkward area. At night, the place was packed and continually running out of food, especially dessert. One staff member, Monica, went out of her way nightly to try and accommodate all guests. What an asset she is to Hyatt!! I would not recommend the Regency Club Lounge at this hotel. For what is offered both in the evening and for breakfast, it is not worth the additional cost.

Yelp
Outstanding service as soon as you hit the valet drive to front desk and to your room. Above and beyond service by people who love what they do and care about your needs and assistance. Please stop by front desk and speak to Wendy she is very genuine and extremely helpful and she is always smiling :)

Yelp
Nice hotel in Downtown Calgary. Great fitness center with beautiful city views. Had a nice stay. the staff was great and the hotel clean and modern. Even though I am not in Calgary much, if I ever am again I would not hesitate to stay here.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. I only got to stay here one night because we drove in from banff to catch an early flight the following morning. If ever the chance to stay in Calgary I would stay here and highly recommend it. The rooms are so comfortable! My sister enjoyed the bar/restaurant downstairs too.

Yelp
I've had the pleasure of dining at Hyatt a few times for various events and conferences in the hotel so this review is mostly the catering and event spaces. First of all the art in this hotel is amazing... you can seriously wonder the halls for quite a while checking out all kinds of awesome Canadian art work of various styles, artists and disciplines. With that in mind it's a very classy venue and I've seen the bar and cocktail hour set up outside the ballroom so there is that excuse to talk and roam which is perfect. The food is delicious. One event had a poutine bar (which I'm sure is a custom request) but everything there was so tasty. They even made a vegetarian gravy for me and my kinfolk. I've also had full sit down meals and the service is well organized and very knowledgeable about the room. They wondered around to find the special meal requirements and the whole team knew what to modify for anyone on that list despite their needs.

Yelp
Great service! Kind and helpful staff. The house keeper was very kind to my kids and helped keep our room very clean during our stay. The pool was very nice and warm as well as the gym.

Yelp
This hotel is nice. It's big- we were there for a conference with a couple of hundred people- but it still didn't feel crowded at all. Location right downtown is great- lots of restaurants and bars nearby.

Yelp
Spent the night here after a company Christmas party. The hotel is very clean and modern. The staff always very friendly and check in/out was quick. However, parking is very expensive for $30 you can park yourself underground or for $40 you can have valet. There's no street parking and a lot of construction when we stayed. The room was big and clean. The bed wasn't too comfortable. The basic amenities are offered. We stayed on the 7th floor and we couldn't hear the construction noise outside BUT we could hear our neighbouring room toilet flush all night. Overall the experience was meh! I probably would only stay here for the convince of being close to the company Christmas party venue.

Yelp
Oh how I love the Hyatt Calgary: It's chic, classy, incredibly comfortable - seriously, the beds are like giant fluffy clouds that hug you. The staff here is excellent; professional, helpful, resourceful and very quick whenever you need something. The lobby is large and has a nice seating. There is free wifi that works throughout the entire place. There is a coffee shop (pssst, where you get your free coffee/tea for 'Checking In' on the Yelp App!) and then there are TWO restaurants in the hotel. One is a steak house that has a lovely lounge in it: More then a few times I have gone straight in to grab a glass of red before heading to my room. And the other is a seafood restaurant, I believe. I haven't actually ate at that one. The Hyatt is located right in the heart of downtown. Half a block from the famed Calgary Tower, a block from the Bow Tower, it walks out onto Stephen Ave and is one of the closest hotels to the BMO Centre/Stampede grounds that there is! Trust me, getting a cab in Calgary is horrible, being walking distance from everything you need is perfect! I have probably stayed at the Hyatt Calgary 5 or 6 times over the years. Every time I pull up to the lobby I get a little smile on my face, the 3 hour drive is over (5 and a half the one time I came for Grey Cup!) and my Calgary adventure is about to start... and no matter how crazy it gets, I know that I will wake up in comfort and I am steps away from food that will cure that hangover in a jiffy!!

Yelp
This is one of the nicest Hyatt Regency hotels, especially with its free wifi! However, you do pay for the the awesomeness. The pool is large enough to do laps (but it's definitely not 25 yards or meters), and there is a hot tub with a view! If you can get into the Regency Club, there is free breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts... Considering how pricey dinners in Calgary can get, it's nice to have this complimentary service. The location is also great if you want to rent a car to drive somewhere or go up to the Calgary Tower. All you have to do is take a couple steps out the hotel! Additionally, it's connected to the convention center, so if you are there for a conference, you won't even have to step outside!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed just the one night here, on a family outing. We got a corner room which was beautiful and the view was great. The king size bed was definitely a treat, as it felt like you were sleeping on heaps of whipped cream. Upon check in on Yelp, my husband and I both scored a free coffee from Starbucks, which we saved when we checked out. Even though our reservation was listed under my mother in law, and it seemed confusing, all the staff was super accommodating, beyond friendly, and very informative. The brunch buffet they had looked incredible, and our family said it was top notch. Nestled in the heart of downtown, I would definitely make a return visit.

Yelp
My arrival at the hotel wasn't the best way to stary with a $25 a night parking charge ($35 valet). The hotel isn't cheap and tacking on an extra $25 per night seemed too much. It seems that anyone can park in their parking lot too so it's always full. After that unpleasantness I proceeded to park and join the queue to check in. Soon after someone came from out of nowhere, introduced himself, and offered to help me. I received multiple apologies about my wait (which couldn't have been longer than 1 minute) and seeing that I was with my family offered to drop the parking rate to $15/night since I obviously wasn't travelling on business. The paid internet access ($13.95/day) was also waived if I joined their loyalty club. Then, the gentleman gave me his business card and told that if I needed anything, I was to give him a call. It turns out he was the front office manager and I really felt welcomed. While waiting for me, the kids were happily munching on some free popcorn and digging through a wagon of crayons, colouring books, and little toys. The rooms were clean and comfortable with flat screen telvisions and an iHome radio (very handy) and I slept really well in the beds. There is a workout room (approx 20 machines) and a pool, hot tub and sauna. The pool isn't huge and it's more for frolicking than swimming but we enjoyed it. There's also a lot of nice Western art in the lobby and throughout the hotel. We had a few minor problem and requests over the 3 nights we stayed which were all dealt with immediately and happily. Despite the wonderful service there was one detraction that drops this to a 4 star rating. Both Friday and Saturday night, the parking garage was full from about 8pm onward. We had the option of parking at a nearby lot or parking in the hotels lot but in the lane. Neither were good solutions for me. I don't think the hotel should oversell their parking lot to the weekend restaurant or partying crowd to the detriment of their guests. Or if their lot becomes full, then perhaps offering valet service for the nearby parking lot for paid guests.

Yelp
I stayed here for a weekend recently and love this hotel. The rooms are beautiful, up to date, and classy. Beds are crazy comfortable too. There's free wifi in the hotel, all you have to do is acknowledge you're a guest in the hotel and you're able to have up to 6 devices log on - NEAT! I did notice what looked like eye make up on the towels in the bathroom when I checked into my room - but housekeeping had new ones up and the old ones disposed of within 25 minutes. While I found service fantastic from check in, check out and everything in between, I did find it humorous that while I was finishing up my check in, both the front desk agent and the bellman watched me load ALL of my bags/items onto my arms, had something fall down, pick it up, and then once I grabbed it all they both offered to assist. hehe, "No it's ok, I have it now" :) I checked in on yelp and it gave me a free Starbucks coffee from the cafe, but when I went to use it they told me they didn't accept it, but i could use it at any normal starbucks. However, normal starbucks won't take it since it says to use it at their coffee shop - so I'd watch that. I love that this hotel is connected to the conference centre, you don't ever have to leave outside if you don't need to! Parking was underground, and while expensive ($29/day) totally worth it.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to stay in Calgary. The staff are always so polite and accommodating. The rooms are also newly remodeled. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are spacious and very clean. Also, the location is perfectly located downtown, right next to the C-train, restaurants, and shopping mall.

Yelp
I have stayed at a couple of Hyatts and will say that the service experienced at every Hyatt was great. If there is one thing this company does well is manage the staff to promote fantastic service to clientele. I had switched from another hotel to this one, after booking this hotel for my last couple of nights. I had to move in the end due to one of the nights booked was held as a deposit. Who does that? I would have cancelled at the time if I knew I would be out 300 bucks. I kept thinking more nights would be available and was naive at how popular IPC would be. Oh well. Like the other couple of Hyatts the rooms are clean and comfortable. I had a bell boy help me take my bag to my room and he hung my coat in the closet for me. I almost said don't do that because I don't use closets in hotels, and left it behind. I passed it during my room scavenge and was like, nah don't open it, you never use them anyways. Alack for me, I left my coat behind and now will await it's return via some shipping company on my dime. Next time I will leave no stone unturned. I like the location of the gym that's open 24 hours and is on the 18th floor. Clean, well stocked towel, and fridge with chilled towels that smelled nice. One thing I will note is the food sucks, other than the salad I got from the Sandstone lounge. I'm assuming this hotel catered the lunch events, and other than the salad that came pre-meal, everything was super bland and had to be hit with a ton of salt and pepper to be edible. Still would come again for the service and accommodation.

Yelp
I spent 4 nights at the Hyatt in February, 2012. I am not a rewards member, so I had no benefits or special inclusions during my stay. Nonetheless, the room was great, everything was new and fresh, and it felt very comfortable. The room was also very quiet and I had no problem staying asleep. During my stay, the ice machine was broken all 4 days, so I had to use the stairs to get down to the next floor and get ice. Most hotels would have this fixed in 1 or 2 days, so I found it unfortunate that the ice machine on my floor was broken for the entire week. Also, there was no breakfast included in my stay or room package. My only option for breakfast at the hotel was to pay $23 for the breakfast buffet, which I did not try because of the outrageous price. Finally, the wireless internet was not free, where as most hotels now days include it with your room. I don't recall the exact price of the internet, but it wasn't very cheap. Overall I would recommend this hotel for the quality and comfort. But if you're expecting a continental breakfast and free wireless internet, look elsewhere.

Yelp
Very clean, nice rooms, comfy beds, and such friendly staff. It's in a really nice location downtown too, my partner and I were within walking distance of all the best attractions. The restaurant had good food as well. The pool/spa area was closed for renovations when we visited unfortunately, but we were given access to a different hotel's pool. No complaints, and we'd definitely stay here again next time we're in Calgary.

Yelp
Our room was nice but some clicking sound each time the air conditioner kicked in it clicked quite loudly and woke me up. The beds were very comfy! The Breakfast buffet however was amazing delicious and they make pancakes, waffles, and eggs benedict to order. Didn't try the waffles or pancakes but the eggs Benny was pretty good. Overall it's a beautiful hotel and the breakfast was great and I love my breakfast
