Hyatt Regency Köln (Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia) 4 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Consistency is the whole point of the big luxury chains, and it’s also a virtue that’s quite well regarded in Germany. You won’t find any aggressively experimental hospitality concepts at a place like the Hyatt Regency Köln, nor any upsettingly bold design gestures. What you will find is a properly conventional five-star hotel, with a prime location alongside the Rhine and the impressive views of the cathedral and the Old Town that go along with it." - Tablet Hotels

This Hyatt Regency was a really great experience. The Concierges/Staff was really helpful and kind. The room was spacious, clean and modern. The beds where very comfortable with cotton/feathers (not that plasticky stuff). The breakfast was lovely and had many options to choose from. Its walking distance to the Koelnmesse. They have Private electric parking spots out front that where great to use.

I had a fantastic experience at the Hyatt Regency. My room was ready earlier than expected and was spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help, which made me feel very welcome. Breakfast was outstanding with a wide variety of delicious options. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely return. Highly recommended!

Enjoyed this hotel. Location was good and we had quiet room on 2nd floor overlooking courtyard. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was good - so much choice and we were greeted by the hard working gentleman every morning and quickly offered hot drinks by another member of staff.|Reception staff friendly and attentive.|Only 15 minute walk to main town area but also had some restaurants in vicinity. |Bar area nice but very expensive. Would stay here again and recommend.

We were pleasantly surprised by the Hyatt Regency Cologne Hotel’s convenient location and comfortable rooms, and the staff was very accommodating… The hotel exceeded our expectations. The rooms were clean, stylish, and comfortable, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, attentive, and we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere… The hotel's amenities were also excellent, including a beautiful pool and a relaxing spa… The hotel's location was very very very great, close to shops and restaurants, the Dom, museums, bridge and the Triangle… We especially enjoyed the great views, the peaceful atmosphere, Club Lounge (the breakfast was delicious and other food services) and the excellent service…. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again…

As a Globalist, I was upgraded to a suite overlooking the Rhine — every evening I would sit by the window and watch the bridge glowing under the sunset. Those moments alone were worth the stay. Breakfast was exceptional, both in quality and variety, easily among the best I’ve had in Europe. The staff were genuinely warm and attentive, creating a sense of welcome that felt effortless. The complimentary minibar in the suite was a thoughtful touch. The pool may be small, but taking a swim while the city slowly woke up felt refreshing and serene. Hyatt Regency Cologne has that rare combination of great views, excellent service, and true comfort — a place where you don’t just stay, but linger.

I stayed here with family in May 2025. We were checked in by a lovely lady, Isabelle from Brazil, who was very kind and welcoming. We were given upgrades on both rooms and offered complimentary breakfast as members of the loyalty program. The stay was wonderful and the views of the city and the Rhine just amazing. Coincidentally, Isabelle also checked us out after the stay and again, we had a very nice experience. Definitely a great place to stay!

Google
Awesome stay! If you have the points, definitely choose the Club Floor. It's only 3,000 more points per night but an excellent value. We got a room facing the cathedral, etc. it was spectacular. The staff were top notch.

Google
Lovely hotel, size of the rooms are very nice, although a bit old school stylish but nothing wrong with that. The views are incredible, and you can go to town by walking or taking an Uber very easily. Breakfast was excellent, drinks at the bar also very good and the Italian offer for dinner was also very nice.

Yelp
Had an absolutely GREAT stay here! The location can't be beat: Right on the bank of the Rhine River with a perfect view of Cologne Cathedral, and an easy walk across the Hohenzollern Bridge to get there! I was upgraded to the Club Level ... and this was my first-ever experience with it. It was like walking into a very nice office reception area, with food & drink readily available. It was funny one night when I tried their afternoon "reception". They brought out lots of appetizers and even a hot penne pasta dish. The staff on this floor is amazing, as well! My room was very nicely-appointed, and I had a direct view of the train tracks just before crossing the Hohenzollern Bridge. Since I'm a bit of a train nut, this was absolute perfection for me! I wasn't even envious I didn't get a Cathedral-facing view, either. :-) Also, since it was late May, the sunrise lit up my room beautifully every morning. (Alas, if there was one thing that bugged me a little, it was the shower. The water temperature would change every time someone flushed a toilet somewhere in the building. Hopefully this can be addressed. On the bright side, at least my morning showers were invigorating!) Legends, the bar on the main floor, was fantastic! I will judge a place by how they make their Whiskey Sours, and Legends is indeed legendary. Their food menu is plenty satisfying, too. I enjoyed at least a couple afternoons & evenings here. Since breakfast was included in my hotel reservation, I definitely took advantage and ate at Glashaus. Now THIS is a breakfast buffet! I think I could spend an entire morning here just getting fat & happy (vacation calories, like movie theater calories, don't count!). The layout is world-class, as is the Omelet Station. Glashaus breakfast is definitely a way to fall off the diet wagon, heheh! :-D All-in-all, a great place to stay and I look forward to staying again.

Yelp
Nice (though somewhat typical) Hyatt Regency in a great location. The room we had for our 3 night stay (booked with points) was spacious and comfortable. While we did not get a view of the Cathedral across the river from our room (if so it may have been a 5 star review), due to my Hyatt status we had Regency Club access on the top floor that looked out across the river. The hotel location is great - right by the bridge leading across the Rhine to the Cathedral. This also means it is an easy walk to the main square with a large number of restaurants and beer halls and the main museums in Koln. It is also a very short walk to a local train/tram station to get to the places not quite in walking distance. You can walk up and down the Rhine, enjoy a glass of wine as the sun sets behind the Cathedral, and watch the lights come up. There is plenty of space in this hotel with a large restaurant on the second floor and an active bar off the lobby. The staff was very friendly, the concierge helpful, and the bar staff made decent drinks. Our room had all the conveniences needed with plenty of space and storage. The bathroom was spacious with a separate tub and shower (and we used both). Overall I would say that if you are looking for a more local hotel experience you could stay elsewhere than the Hyatt, but the next time I am coming to Koln I will stay here again.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars, I would. We are here on day 86 of our 100 day tour, and so far, this hotel has been the most uncharming I have been to EVER. The Hyatt Cologne may be posh and it may have nice rooms, but everything else is a problem. Everything. If you plan to do an even here, think again.

Yelp
PERFECT stay at the Hyatt! My husband and I were visiting 3 cities in Germany and Cologne was first on our itinerary. Due to weather, our flights and trains were all delayed and we arrived about 3 hours after our original plan. We were greeted with a stunning lobby and a very warm welcome from Anika. Anika - THANK YOU for all that you did to make our stay in Cologne absolutely perfect. You were attentive, helpful, super kind and warm, and professional. She is really a gem to the Hyatt and we are so very grateful that she was our first encounter of our hotel. She remained dedicated and helpful throughout our stay, even brining me up a key when I had left mine in the room! We received a room with the most perfect view of the bridge and the Dom Cathedral, it really took our breaths away when we entered our rooms. The room and bathroom was beautifully designed, was large, and really perfect. It was also so nice to find a bottle of champagne for us to help celebrate our anniversary. Our level had a complimentary breakfast buffet with the most amazing green juice drink that I am convinced was the cure for me to not having any jet lag or issue with time difference. I enjoyed one every morning. The Hyatt is in the ideal location. It is walking distance from the town center - just a quick one across the bridge and you will have access to absolutely everything. Everyone we encountered from the concierge, the 2 great bartenders at the bar and the staff at the morning buffet were so sweet and so helpful that it really exceeded any service I have received at any other hotel worldwide. The hotel has very reasonable rates and you really get every penny worth during your stay. Thank you Hyatt Cologne - we will surely be visiting Cologne again and will only be staying with the Hyatt.

Yelp
Informative staff, clean rooms and great location. If you can get a window view of the skyline across the river. Stayed a couple nights during christmas market season. Hotel far enough away from the markets to avoid crowds but close enough to easily transition to the festivities. Check in and out was easy and walk to the train station was without issue. Recommend staying.

Yelp
Best hotel in Cologne. The night view of the Cologne Dom and Rhein is spectacular. Brunch is great- much more impressive than brunch in American Hyatt hotels, and I loved the detailed decor. Customer service is excellent. The cocktail hour on the VIP floor had a good selection of drinks, appetizers, and desserts. The pool is underwhelming; I would not call it 5-star. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. Would definitely recommend this hotel for tourists.

Yelp
Absolutely the worst costumer service you can get. These people are extremely rude, unprofessional and disgraceful. While planning our honeymoon trip with a stop in Cologne my husband picked this place since he had stayed here in the past. We booked online 3 days and got a renovation rate for 119 per night. Great. The next day, we got a email to confirm the reservation however, it only showed 2 nights. We called right the way to speak to a representative to add the extra night and explain what happened. We were on hold for 30 min till someone picked up. Give the fact we are calling from California. The first encounter was horrendous. He got to speak with ALISSON at first . Extremely rude, would not allowed us to finish one sentence before interrupting and repeating what we kept saying. She was obviously American, no accent which gives no excuse for language barrier . She was rude, unprofessional, unwilling to help or even listen to what we were asking. Then my husband asked to speak to a supervisor, we were on hold for another 10 min. We did not get her name, however I'm sure they can check who was in shift today at this time 9:41 am in San Francisco. Again, unprofessional, 0 costumer service. When my husband asked what can we do ? She said cancel if you like. Well that is what we did and will be sure to inform everyone that when in Cologne to never stay in this hotel. For sure they lost business with my husbands company giving the fact that they always stay here. To management. You need to work on hiring more professional, educated and friendly staff.

Yelp
I'm starting to really love this chain of hotels. Even though they are pricier than I usually like to pay, they are worth my boyfriend's money. This is my second experience with the chain, and it was even better than the first. Definitely get the breakfast! Amazing! And close enough to walk to downtown Cologne, so no need to drive while you are there. We parked on the street and our car was fine. The front desk will tell you to park it with their colleagues - it is so cute everyone is a colleague in Europe - quite adorable. Anyways, I digress. They have an amazing attention to detail and great customer service and everyone speaks english -- even the omelet maker. They even gave us a birthday cake for my boyfriend's birthday, and it was really good. And he doesn't even really like sweets because he's in shape and takes good care of himself unlike myself... In summary, stay there, get the breakfast, park on the street, get a room with a view of the Rhine and the bridge-- oh, and don't try to fit two Americans in the tub. It's smaller than you think.

Yelp
Perfect. Great views, great breakfast, and a lovely walk over the bridge to visit the Dom. This hotel is perfect for the business professional or the family/tourist looking to discover Cologne. Recommended.

Yelp
The Hyatt Regency Köln was a beautiful hotel. It was nicely decorated for the Holidays with a pretty Christmas Tree. The room was spacious and extremely comfortable. We had a minimal, partial view of the bridge leading down to the Dome which was really nice. I really liked the bar here. It had a nice old English pub kind of feel. It was quiet and the patio had a beautiful view of the Dome. I bet during the summer this place is really awesome. Overall our stay here was quite nice. We had the opportunity to stay here, the Hilton or the Marriott a few days later. We chose the Marriott because of the price. We liked this hotel (the Hyatt) slightly better than the Marriott. So we would choose this again if the prices were the same, but if there is a significant difference in pricing there wasn't so many things more outstanding than the Marriott to justify it. Just a side note: 5 star hotels in Germany are not the same as in US or other places in the world. This is on par with a 4 star US hotel.

Yelp
I stayed in the Hyatt on a business trip and was impressed by the website when I booked. This is classed as a 5 star hotel and whilst it is very nice, it is not on par with some other 5 star hotels I have stayed in on business. The TV in my room had a lose connection and kept making 'clicking' noises all the time. When I ordered toast for breakfast in my room, they just delivered the bread with no butter. My other gripe (which I admit is quite trivial) is that when you place the order for breakfast in your room the night before, you specify the time frame in which you would like it delivered. Everyday they delivered 5 minutes before! This may seem petty but I was using the gym before and I would often arrive back at my room to see them knocking on the door. In terms of location it is superb - a quick walk over the bridge and you are in the centre of everything, including the beautiful christmas markets and the cathedral. The gym is excellent and they also have a decent pool. Would recommend but think the rating may be a bit amiss.

Yelp
Hyatt Regency Cologne is located in the center of the city, at Deutz district (easy to remember for those who like Champagne) - right on the opposite bank of Rhine is Cologne Dom and all major sights, including restaurants and shopping, just cross the authentic bridge. Some rooms overlook this beautiful view, not all. Ours overlooked another building and a roof. It's a walking distance to the Central Railway station, Rheinpark, Koelnmesse, Cable car, and Lanxess Arena. We had a spacious room with a big closet, which is good, cause I hate it when the bags and clothes are all around, and it's nice when you can store everything away. Large bathroom with both -shower and a bathtub. Bathrobes and cozy slippers for your convenience. Breakfast was not included, but it's offered in their restaurant. As well as lunch or dinner. International cuisine. Also they have sushi bar. Fitness Club is pretty large. You'll find there elliptical machines, bikes, treadmills, weights, even fit balls and other equipment to stay in shape. Or you can enjoy a scenic walk or run along Rhine river, the quay is long enough. There is also a 15-meter swimming pool. If it's summer - you can even spend some time outside lying at the sun, they have sunbeds. If it's autumn or winter - relax in a hot tub, sauna or steam room. Or if you have more free time to indulge yourself - book a massage at their SPA. The stuff is nice and friendly. And all speak English which is really a relief. Free Wi-Fi. They also offer transportation whether you're coming from Frankfurt or Dusseldorf, check this with the concierge.

Yelp
well, it's hyatt and so far, it never fails me :) The room is spacious and my favorite part of the room is the bathroom. It's very clean and the location is very strategic with a remarkable view of the Cathedral and the Altstadt!
