Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf (Dusseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia) 8 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Maybe it’s mostly Kraftwerk we’re thinking of, but it’s hard not to see Dusseldorf as something of a futuristic city. And if the future of big-brand luxury hotels looks anything like the Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf, then it’s going to be a fine future indeed. It’s a striking waterfront structure, a perfect complement to the contemporary architecture that lines the city’s Media Harbour, and it’s a good deal more alive, visually speaking, than your typical luxury hotel." - Tablet Hotels

This is my first ever negative hotel review – but my stay at Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf was so upsetting it ruined the impression of my trip. At check-in, my colleague was told he needed to pay for the fully prepaid room. Then they claimed breakfast wasn’t included, until we showed our booking confirmation proving otherwise. The deposit was another unpleasant surprise. Our confirmation stated €50/night to cover minibar expenses, but we were charged €100/night per room – and the minibar was empty. Later, my colleague received a bank alert showing they tried to charge the deposit again hours later. This made us feel unsafe from day one. Security concerns didn’t end there. On the morning of departure, with a taxi booked for 8:00 a.m. to the airport, my colleague was suddenly unable to open the in-room safe using the same code he had been using throughout the stay. We were forced to wait for technical staff to open it.. For this reason, I strongly advise against storing cash in the safe. Check-out with Lea was extremely unfriendly, leaving a final bad taste. I also strongly recommend not storing cash in the in-room safe. For a first visit to Düsseldorf, I expected warm, professional service from a 5-star brand. Instead, I left with a feeling of distrust and disappointment. I will think twice before booking any Hyatt Regency again.

It’s a great hotel in a great location. Modern, comfortable and well equipped.||||However if you are offered a room on the second floor politely refuse and insist on a higher floor.||||The hotel regularly holds events called After Work Parties, which turn your room into a night club. It’s a common issue but management continually let these rooms knowing they are a problem during these events. Which is poor practice.||||Despite asking for a new room I was informed the hotel was full to later find out it wasn’t and a room was available. Promised calls from the duty manager never arrived. Emails unanswered.||||Such a shame I’ve stayed here 30 times this year but my most recent experience exposes their failing, poorly trained staff and weak management.

Do not stay at this hotel if you need peace and quiet in your room in the evenings for work, relaxation or getting to sleep.||The hotel organises after work events at their outdoor bar on the ground floor and plays music at them which is so loud that it disturbs you even if you ask for a room on the 18th floor (the top floor) on the other side of the building. This means that every single room in the hotel is disturbed by the noise.||Therefore avoid this hotel unless you are planning to join the parties or stay away until very late every evening and therefore don’t mind the noise.||Otherwise it’s a decent hotel with good rooms, great breakfast, a good gym and spa, views over the river and places to run and walk along it, and some nice team members. Some processes don’t work well (often no one answers the phone when you try to call the front desk, and luggage storage is often completely disorganised) but they say they are working on this. There is no healthy food available from the bar menu nor room service (only burgers, pasta, paninis, a Caesar salad drenched in cheese and creamy sauce) but you can order nice healthy salads from places like Green Club on Uber Eats or Lieferando, or go to a vegan restaurant called Sattgrun just across the pedestrian bridge.

I stayed at this hotel at the end of June. While the stay itself was great, the follow-up service has been extremely disappointing. I accidentally left behind my glasses and hair straightener. I emailed the hotel right after I checked out but never received a reply. The next day I called, and they told me many guests had forgotten items and they would get back to me via email. Nothing came. I called again the following day and was told they didn’t receive my email, but would check immediately and reply. Still nothing. I called a third time and got the same promise—but now it’s been a full week, and I’ve received no response at all. It’s hard to believe a four-star hotel has such poor handling of lost items. I’m sure there’s a department for this. Even if many people leave things behind, a week without any follow-up—after three phone calls—is unacceptable. Very disappointed.

As Globalist members, we were upgraded to a beautiful 18th-floor suite offering stunning views of the Rhine River and city skyline. The suite was thoughtfully appointed, with a spacious living room complete with dining table, and even a kitchen.||||Having stayed at the Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf since its opening in 2010, we can confidently say that the service remains consistently excellent. The staff continue to recognize and warmly welcome returning guests. Breakfast remains one of the best among Hyatt Regency properties in Europe, and comfort and cleanliness have been maintained at a high level over the years.||||One change: the Club Lounge has been relocated from its original high-floor location to a smaller space near the DOX restaurant and bar. Unfortunately, it no longer accommodates all Club-level guests, so we were directed to take a seat at the DOX bar. Nevertheless, the staff—especially Benjamin—were incredibly helpful, ensuring we had all the snacks and drinks we needed.||||We will certainly return as regular guests. The Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf continues to be a remarkable destination.

Everything was perfect—we’ll remember our stay for a long time! Even our dog was pampered with high-quality treats, a cozy dog bed, and food bowls brought by the attentive staff. The coffee was delicious, breakfast was exceptional, and the view was simply breathtaking. Our room was spotless, and the spa experience was wonderfully relaxing.

This Hyatt Regency does not disappoint. Rooms with nice views, a good restaurant with outdoor seating. The gym is a bit small but has different cardio and weight options including a Smith machine for heavier weights.

If you expect any kind of service or help from the employees, this isn’t the right hotel for you. The reception forgot my request for a phone charger despite me asking three times and waiting five hours. Parking in the hotel garage costs 35€ a day.

Yelp
He Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf is a very nice hotel! The reception was very friendly and accommodating. My room was amazing! Walk in rain shower, the bed is a Cali king. 5 Star all the way. The free breakfast was absolutely delicious!!! I'm talking a serious spread of fantastic food peeps! They have Brompton fold up bikes you can rent and go cruise the city! I guess my only complaint would be the gym was small and lacking but other wise this hotel is absolutely perfect!!!! Located right on the river here in Düsseldorf. The views from the rooms is very pretty! So if your ever in Düsseldorf Germany this is where you want to stay!

Yelp
This place is situation by the Rhine River which is of excellent location. Exceptional breakfast spread. Great view at the lounge which offers excellen Rhine River view. The rooms are great especially if you get upgraded to a suite with 180 degree view of the river. The room si very well decorated with the stereotypical second window which has a small cut out for fresh air, frische Luft is serious business in Germany here. Very cute. The rooms are huge, and because it's a suite you get your own work area. Best BBC station to give you the European version of America (could no have picked worse time to come to Europe with the mass shooting and all, a bit depressing for Americans but at least you get the news coverage in English). The view is great, as I mentioned, it's one of the newer hotels, and thus the breakfast offers abundant selections. As a Diamond member you can get fresh in room service breakfast or choose to dine at the top of the hotel lounge area or the downstairs big spread, three choices is better than none, that's for sure. The real treat is the afternoon lounge activities because you get the Kaffee und Kuchen (coffee and cake) experience, like a typical German would do. The dinner buffet served at the lounge is very good, better than some of the other places I've been too, and this being a Hyatt Regency, it pulls all stops. The only complaint is the lack of fast internet, sometimes you have to log in and out a few times to make the phone connection to work to back up your Google photos. A bit annoying for the internet instagram yelp facebook vine plus work obsessed person. Get a glass of Rose, or local bier, and soak in your bathtu, enjoy the day and evening, you've earned it.

Yelp
First time at this hotel. Wow. Really nice. This hotel can't be more than a few years old. About a 15 minute drive from the airport. Decor is modern and again looks brand new. Very nice lobby with the check in desk in the right as soon as you enter. Someone grabs your luggage as soon as you get in. The rooms are very nice with great views. There is a bar and a restaurant in the lobby. I checked in early so the free breakfast didn't kick in until the next day, but I was starving so I decided to eat at the breakfast buffet anyway. Kind of pricey at 30 euros but the buffet was excellent. Plenty of bread and cheese and cold cuts. As well as eggs(made to order if you choose), bacon, sausage, potatoes. Nice fruit spread along with all of the juices and coffee or tea. The wait staff were super polite and pleasant. I will definitely stay here again the next time I am in Düsseldorf.

Yelp
Reviewing the outside bar only! This is the place to come and relax! What an awesome scene! With nice pillows, couches, and padded seats all around outside, this trendy and chic place is great to just chill out and gaze at the rhine! I was told this place used to be called Monkey Beach, and now has been remodeled (or built?) to have this outdoor bar. Drinks are delicious, and the scenery is beautiful! I could see this place turning into quite a great nightlife scene at night. I highly recommend coming here to check out the surrounding and sip on some liquid delights!

Yelp
It is a nice hotel with a great location. The rooms looking to the river are very nice in general, but some have a strange distribution (for example the 1708, in this room you walk through the bathroom to get in the room, there is no privacy if the cleaning person or so walks in). The rooms looking to the other building are ok but the view is obviously none. The suites have the best views to the tower and the city center no matter in which level you are. In one of the rooms I Stayed, there were some technical problem with the air condition and even though we complained they could not help us. On the other hand, the cleaning woman threw away one of our belongings by mistake and the staff was responsible enough to look for it and return it to us. The breakfast buffet is perfect with a great variety and a very nice looking restaurant. There are two bars, one of these called Pebble's (or so) and in the summer nights gets into a really party mood, during the day you can come to chill out and enjoy the sunshine. Around the hotel there are plenty restaurants, cinema and nightclub

Yelp
Pretentious and pricey but they are nicely situated in media harbor area. We strolled here from the Ko shopping area and sat in the bar for drinks and a rest. Staff were rude - asked if we had reservations or were guests. When we said neither they directed us to sit in the bar area even though the cafe was 2/3 empty. The cafe area has nice tables and views of the harbor. The bar area is fine but not as nice as the cafe. They then proceeded to overcharge us for a glass of orange juice - 8 euros instead of 5 - they thought we had gotten fresh-squeezed but we could only order from the bar menu so we only got the canned version. Goes to show you that you are better served to treat everyone like first class citizens.

Yelp
I have to be honest; I felt a little guilty staying at this Hyatt and even more so now writing this "Very Good" review of the property. My wife and I have been Starwood loyalists since 2002 so I hope no one from the SPG program is reading this :) But our great stay warranted praise. We came to book a Club King Room (18th Floor) because we had accumulated a massive amount of points through our Hyatt VISA card. My wife and I were looking for quick city escape to cash in on some of our points and the Hyatt Dusseldorf came into the picture. It's a stunning property located on the waterfront, and the views of the wind swept snow across the river from the bar and club lounge were amazing. Our room was incredible, amazing view, and comfortable bed. I loved that the shower was separate from the bath tub. I've grown tired of taking gigantic leaps into the tubs at most hotels. Plus most of the tub/shower combos just have a half glass door that does nothing for water control. But the Hyatt nailed it with their design. Nice job. Service at reception and in the lounge were top notch! Edeltraude at the front desk (I hope I spelled that correct) was an absolute pleasure during checkin/out and when I locked myself out of my room. This actually happened to me twice, once I left key in the room second time my wife left the Do Not Disturb on and I could not key back into room. The club lounge guys were of equally excellent assistance getting me back into my room. Speaking of the lounge, it was superb. Beautiful views, as I mentioned, and great atmosphere to relax or to get some work done. There are soft drinks, juice and coffee available all day. I'm still jittery from all the expresso I had during our stay. The lounge offers complimentary appetizers, beer and wine from 6pm-8pm. Kuddos to the evening lounge staff on Saturday (3/23) for putting out a delicious spread and ensuring my wine glass was topped up if I wanted it. The only downfall of the hotel was the service at the lobby bar and the hotel restaurant. After a long walk from the Dusseldorf Station to the Hyatt (40min) we were starving so we went to the lobby but found the restaurant closed (2pm) so we settled for the bar which did have a nice menu. However, we stood for a good 5 minutes at the bar waiting to be noticed as one of the staff members seemed more occupied with preparing a fruit smoothie from a plastic bag to acknowledge our presence. But the food made up for this incident, the Dusseldorf currywurst was excellent and my wife's Caesar salad was one of the best we've ever had. Even though we were full from the great selection of apps in the club lounge that evening, my wife and I still had a craving for sushi after seeing it on the restaurant's menu from earlier that day. Now this gripe could partially be my fault. I've learned over the past few months in Europe that water needs to be ordered specifically as "tap water" otherwise you get pricy bottled stuff. I thought we were clear on our request from our server but before we knew it we were being poured a bottle of still water. Since my glass was full already, I didn't make a stink. But I really should have after I saw the €10 price tag they tacked on for the water. Not a big thing and like I mentioned I'm partially to blame for not complaining but I felt our server understood our request. The hotel also has a very nice gym, by hotel standards and a nice spa area equipped with jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room. Great way to unwind after a long day of traveling.

Yelp
Beautifully appointed hotel with great location and stunning views. Excellent beds / linens, comfortable bathroom and good personal care products. Wi-fi slower than desired (17th floor, harbour facing room). Wonderful service and food in the lounge, good wine, great cheeses, and tasty, fresh hors d'oeuvres. The highlight of breakfasts (in the lounge again) were wonderful hearty rye breads and high seeded loaves. Great quality Althaus teas. Excellent, personal, quick service. Overall, a restful four-day vacation.

Yelp
Amazing hotel. Incredible views. The staff is super friendly. I stayed here for five nights and couldn't be happier. Worth every penny. If I came back to Dusseldorf, I would definitely stay here. Breakfast at DOX is amazing. Hotel is walking distance to many restaurants. Great experience.
