So sad this Hyatt in Guam. Used to be the word Hyatt meant 'class' but not so here. I have sat in their lounge many times, working on my computer or reading a book while I sip a cappucino. But this evening, I was practically shooed away by the server, who said that if I wasn't going to order I will have to hang out in the deli. I was distracted as I was setting up, but I said I always order when I am there, and I have been there many times, and the deli has no socket, and she said there is, which is untrue. Then she gave me this spiel about their policy, which should not affect me, because to me it was always common sense for me to order and not "policy". Then she said that she hoped I 'understood', then I told her that I hope she understood that some customers take time to decide what to order. Then she said she could give me 20-30 minutes? What is this, a timed lounge? If she could give me that much time to order, why didn't she just give it from the gitgo, and not this spiel? I tried to stay, but I was so turned off. It was so disrespectful. I thought of ordering a to-go coffee in the deli instead and sit at a waiting room. but by then I felt the coffee would taste horrible because she had left a bad taste in my mouth. So I went to the HIlton, which is always full of people, unlike Hyatt. I was always attracted to the quiet atmosphere in the Hyatt lounge, because of their lack of patrons, but they can't capitalize on the few that come.
I thought of writing to the Hyatt management, but by the looks of the reviews here, bad service seems the rule, and management probably doesn't care.
