"Spain takes its food seriously. After all, it’s the country that gave birth to El Bulli and, as of 2015, has 169 Michelin-starred restaurants (11 in Madrid alone). So it comes as no surprise that a top hotel on a main boulevard in the capital should be home to one of these temples to gastronomy, the two-Michelin-starred Santceloni. But the Hotel Hesperia Madrid doesn’t content itself with just a world-class restaurant. No, this sleek retreat—decorated boldly by some of Spain ’s top designers, including Pascua Ortega, Erico Navazo, and Mercedes Gonzalez López-de-Carrizosa—is devoted to the best of contemporary Spanish dining, with a total of three acclaimed restaurants and a sultry scotch bar attracting the most discerning palates in Madrileño society. In between decadent meals—and exploring the ritzy shopping and myriad sights just outside the hotel’s front door—work up an appetite at the open-air gym up on the rooftop, yet another of the Hesperia’s claims to fame."

This hotel has a great location, right in between two major train stations in Madrid. It is conveniently located, near main travel street/highway and is outside the pedestrian area. Thus it is really fast and easy to get to different places in Madrid. Easy to get Uber (free now)/taxi. ||The interior of the hotel is as expected from a 5-star hotel. Breakfast area is beautiful, and breakfast is of high quality. The room is big and clean and pleasant. As a globalist, they provided us with complementary red wine and daily chocolate. The lounge is the only negative in that it is very small and stuffy. But the food is OK.||During our stay, a high level official delegation from a major country arrived to enter a trade negotiation with US treasury secretary. So the security tightened up. But overall they were pretty low-key, and did not inconvenient us too much.||I highly recommend the hotel. Great value!

Google
Exceptional service and the location of the hotel near the metro made this a very nice stay for 3 days. The staff members are friendly, especially Talles and Olalla were attentive to my needs and assisted with everything. The rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast was also high quality. ||The Tapas tour was excellent! I attended the Hyatt Regency, Intercontinental and the Four Seasons. By far, the Hyatt Regency was the best :)

This hotel is great. Different to other Regency Hotel locations that I have visited, because of the size. But it's great and a place to visit. After a whole day out in Madrid or in cities near by, I had a great time at the bar, great service from Jorge and Mohamed. Very personalized customer service skills and made me feel like home, like I have been here many times. I would definitely come back to this location. Rooms are excellent and the staff at the front desk and guest services desk are outstanding.

I stayed here 5 nights recently with my wife. I had booked an executive suite but was placed in a smaller, cheaper regency suite without being told I was being downgraded! Fortunately, after around 20 minutes, I remembered what the executive suite looked like, and I kicked up a fuss. I was then told that there was no executive suite available for my stay (even though I had booked my stay directly with the hotel 3 months ago and had fully paid!!!). After I kicked up a further fuss I was told there was in fact an executive suite on the 2nd floor, which is hardly ideal. After kicking up a fuss yet again, the hotel miraculously found us an executive suite on the 7th floor!!! Credit to the bellman Carlos for helping sort this out even though it was not his responsibility - he was so much more helpful than the front desk staff whose responsibility this was. The following day the hotel gave me a refund for the first night which was appreciated, but the point is that this entire debacle should never have happened in the first place. I have stayed at many hotels all over the world, of various categories and standards, but not once have I encountered this treatment! The room mess aside, breakfast was the same every day and the spread was mediocre compared to other hotels I stayed at in other Spanish cities. Suffice it to say that I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel is more in the business section of the city, perhaps a mile from shopping and tourist sites. We liked that- provided a break from the crowds yet easily walkable. Downside is not much around it if you are looking to just grab a coffee, etc. Hotel was very clean, spacious room. Staff was friendly and professional. Would return if in the city again

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Hesperia Madrid in late August/early September as part of our trip through Spain and France celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary, and the experience was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was above and beyond. The team surprised us with a personalized card featuring photos of us, along with thoughtful recommendations for things to do in Madrid. Waiting in our room was a curated platter of chocolates, fresh fruit, and champagne—a warm and memorable touch that made us feel incredibly special. The hotel’s location was ideal: just a pleasant walk from Plaza Mayor and central Madrid, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and relaxing. Our room was very spacious (especially by European standards) with a massive bathroom, and every comfort was carefully taken care of throughout our stay. Daily service was attentive and ensured we never had to think twice about our needs. We left Madrid with wonderful memories thanks in large part to our stay here. We’ll absolutely be returning to the Hyatt Regency Hesperia on our next visit and can’t recommend it highly enough to anyone traveling to Madrid.

Had a lovely stay at the Hyatt. The staff is so kind and both Costanza and Cristina in guest services/concierge were so helpful to plan my days. They really went above and beyond and even secured a reservation at Smoked Room on short notice. Great sight recs from them both. I highly recommend you stop by and chat them up for some daily plans

Google
Stayed here for business and the hotel was lovely - really nice rooms and incredibly helpful staff. Particularly Cristina, on guest services who was just amazing. I had lost my passport and she was so kind, helped me with all next steps and phoned the restaurant I was at the night before. Luckily it was there! But she then texted me and made my day! She was so patient and kind and cannot say thank you enough!

Yelp
A lovely hotel with great service and nicely appointed rooms. Convenient to metro stations and all the attractions that Madrid has to offer. There is a gym on the top floor, a restaurant, lounge and club lounge on the bottom floor. Overall, I would stay again.

Yelp
I was very happy with the stay. The staff were professional, the standard of service is high. Hotel is in a good shape in terms of up keep. Breakfast buffer is generous, I had dates, jamon ibercio, pan con tomate and tortilla de patatas almost every day.

Yelp
The saying is that you cannot judge a hotel by its cover. This Hyatt was is completely the case. Ugly outside but pretty and warm inside. This hotel is not over the top but it excels on the basics. Customer service that follows up, staff that treat Globalists like they are valued. Imagine being given an upgrade without having to go to battle with the front desk. Good service just happens. Truly, is what is inside that counts.

Yelp
Really, really excellent hotel! Am staying here for a week for a conference and really, I couldn't ask for anything more. The room is great; a queen side bed with lots of pillows and so comfortable. There is free wifi, of course and what I like is having a Nespresso machine here too. Bathroom is quite big and the shower is good. You get some big fluffy towels and also a dressing gown to use, as well as slippers. I can go on and on about the place but all you need to know is that it's a great place to stay and customer service is also brilliant. I called reception because I couldn't get the tv to work properly (my fault) and a technician came up in about 5 minutes. Excellent!

Yelp
We stayed at this hotel for two nights as part of a Gate 1 tour of Spain. It is not on the heart of town and is located in a more residential area. I wrote to the hotel ahead of time to ask for a quiet room, away from the elevator, since we were celebrating our anniversary and were vacationing without our kids. They wrote back and said that they upgraded our room to a premium room, which was beautiful. The bathroom was spacious. The hotel has a pillow bar where you can call and ask for a variety of pillows in various sizes, ranging from "very soft" to lumbar support. A buffet breakfast was included with our room. There was a wide variety of food, including a delicious "make your own omelet" station where you can pick your fillings and they bring you an omelet. The fruit was fresh and coffee excellent. Upon arriving back to our room after our dinner, a complimentary bottle of Cava and delicious dessert treats were waiting for us as an anniversary gift from the hotel! We could not have asked for better service and I highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling to Madrid.

Yelp
This hotel is fantastic. The all you can eat breakfast is out of this world, with very healthy items like various fruits, Walnut milk, soy Milk, greek yogurt, fresh fruit juices, sliced meats, and a variety of eggs, waffles, and delicious pastries. The rooms are super clean and fancy, and the best part is that the windows open. The rooms are kept very tidy, the staff even hung my clothes when I left them laying on my bed. The staff knows how to cater to their guests. Fantastic location.

Yelp
This is my very first review on yelp, but I simply had to broadcast the outstanding service of this 5 star luxury hotel. From the minute we arrived, the staff went over and beyond to help us with anything we could possibly need - walking itineraries, restaurant recommendations/ reservations as well as unique things to do with our kids. Rooms are clean and large, bathrooms modern and beds/pillows comfy as can be. What put this hotel over the top was our experience with Mr. Gutierrez from guest relations. Even after we left the hotel and needed assistance in retrieving some of our belongings from Spain, Mr. Gutierrez went over and beyond to help us - a degree of kindness completely unexpected. A first rate experience!

Yelp
Location is great! You are far enough from the hussle and bussle from the touristic center, yet the metro is 50 steps away and can get you the historic center in a few minutes. We were able to check in early after flying for 14 hours. Room is small but very clean. Staff is friendly .

Yelp
Great hotel experience. Friendly staff, nice location just seconds from metro line, clean and updated look and feel. We were both very pleased.

Yelp
Unfortunately, I have to disagree with the previous reviewers on the high rating if this hotel, especially given the price. While the service by the staff is tremendous, the uncomfortable bed ruined our experience. We were given a king size bed and originally delighted, however, once we got into the bed to sleep we found that it was actually two twin beds that had been pushed together. There was a hard section in the middle where the beds were joined, the bed made loud squeaking noises with the slightest move, and overall just a very old and uncomfortable mattress. For me, having a good night's rest is the most important element of a hotel and on this criteria Hesperia Madrid is very lacking. The staff clearly takes pride in their work at this hotel -- it's a shame that the management has not chosen to simply buy new mattresses for the rooms. If they had done so, this review would be four stars.
