We loved our stay. The room was beautiful which made for a relaxing Staycation for our family. Everything is approachable and easy for a family with young kids. Ms. Courtney made the paid crafts and family fun room one of my kids favorite things. I’d go back just to chat with her! Boston was amazing wave instructor. My five year old did it two days in a row and loved it.

We stayed over the week of the new year. The rooms are modern and very comfortable. There are multiple dinning options so you do not have to leave the resort if you do not want to. The lazy river, pools, and slides were all heated so we could use them in December/January. The key to coming with a family is going around a holiday, spring break, or summer. That’s when they are staffed to offer up all of the kids activities. Our son enjoyed the games and art events that were available. He also loved the movies on the lawn. They had popcorn and blankets. The only event that was lack luster was the wild life feeding. We are fairly sure they just put our the bird seed and then go on with their day. The staff was wonderful! My husband and son also did multiple lessons on the Flow Rider and enjoyed the small ratios during the sessions allowing them to do multiple times and get feedback from staff. Our son is already asking to go back.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. My room was cozy, exceptionally clean, and very spacious. Despite the ongoing conference, my room remained quiet and peaceful. The service throughout my stay was outstanding, from the housekeeping and front desk staff to the food service team. I especially appreciated the beautiful natural surroundings, which created a relaxing atmosphere. The variety of amenities, including several bars, restaurants, gift shops, and a coffee shop made this hotel a true one-stop destination. I highly recommend it.

We loved the hotel! The service is excellent and they offer many activities: heated pool and heated lazy river, s’mores, renting bicycles, wildlife feeding, family room with games for kids and a trampoline, movies at the lawn, Starbucks. The only problem the hotel has is the pricy restaurants and pricy food options. The minimum is having a reasonably priced breakfast. I hope the hotel treats his team well- all of them were wonderful!

I cannot say enough about our weekend at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort. My son asked to bring two friends to Sea World for his 11th birthday. I chose this resort due to the proximity to the park and the heated pools. My expectations were completely surpassed! The staff went out of their way to make sure my son had an amazing birthday experience and treated him and his friends like VIPs. We were so impressed with how thoughtful and kind they were. Thanks to them, the kids had even more fun at the resort than they did at Sea World.||||The resort is just lovely. The lobby and rooms are so well done. It feels high end but also warm and comfortable. The scent in the lobby is heavenly! My only complaint is that they don’t sell it. The holiday decorations are beautiful. The pool is chilly in December but warm enough for the kids. The hot tub is kept blissfully hot for the adults! We ate breakfast at the restaurant there and the buffet option was perfect for the whole family. There was a large variety of food and everything I tried was good. I wish we could have stayed longer and had more time to explore the property and participate in the on-site activities, but we will certainly be back!

This is our third year in a row staying at this resort. Consistently great service and amazing experience. Perfect getaway for our family, only a few hours from home. Customer experience is at the next level throughout the resort. Best valet service, quick and respectful. Ali and Arash at the valet went above and beyond beyond to charge my car for the road trip. Will definitely come back.

Cozy place, but not ideal for fall or winter, as you're unable to enjoy the outdoor amenities due to the temperature. Also what was incredibly frustrating was the extra fees. I've stayed at Hyatt locations before, and the sum taken out for incidentals had returned to my card within a few days. However, here an $80 charge persisted on my card for over a week. So I finally called about it. When I contacted the front desk, they said the charge was correct. I was informed it was for parking (which apparently is included, oddly enough) and for a $45 "resort fee" -- whatever that means. I'll certainly be more vigilant in reading the fine print next time I book anywhere (if these fees were even included in the fine print). So I'd say it's certainly a cozy stay for wealthy individuals belonging to a certain tax bracket, but for those that need to save up for an enjoyable, memorable getaway (especially in the cold seasons), I would seriously recommend weighing other options before considering this resort (all factors considered).

We recently stayed here on an extended weekend trip. Pros: - The grounds are beautiful - Weekend activities were really nice and justified the "Resort fee" - Room was clean - Service was great Cons: - The weekday activities are pretty much non-existent or do it yourself. During the weekend there is staff that helps you make smores, but during the week you have to get the materials and make it yourself. There should be no resort fee during the weekdays as there is no justification for it. - During the weekend there seemed to be a non-guest event which dominated the parking lot. This caused us to park in the overflow parking area. Being charged for parking is silly, but even more so when you are battling for a spot from folks not staying at the resort. - Food options during the weekend was great. The food options during the weekday were terrible. - We were told the waterpark would be fully open in November. This was not true. Only the lazy river, pool, & hot tub were. - Between the additional fees & taxes it added on an additional ~33% to the nightly stay. For the region, this is much too high. Overall we enjoyed our weekend stay here, but would not recommend a weekday stay during the off season given the fees.

Yelp
Great hotel with incredibly accommodating staff. We stayed for a week, and everything--from the food to the service--was consistently solid. The food was delicious, the drinks were strong, and every staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful. There were plenty of areas where we could hold our meetings without running into other guests, which was a huge plus. The only downside was the occasional guest who felt the need to touch our food as they walked by in the hallway--still not sure what that was about. My bed was super comfy, and I loved that the hotel has a designated quiet time. It made the stay even more relaxing.

Yelp
Even though I have been here before for a convention, this is the first time I have actually stayed here. I really love this hotel and will definitely come back. The service is excellent, the staff are very professional. The hotel is very clean and well-maintained. The grounds are beautiful and so relaxing. We rented a king suite and a double queen and they gave us connecting rooms which was perfect. I appreciated the inclusion of robes and mini fridges in the rooms. I thought we didn't have access to a microwave but it turns out there is one in all the ice/vending rooms. We loved the lazy river and the pool, and enjoyed sitting on the many porches and watching goat yoga take place. The pictures of the rooms on the website are completely accurate, so I haven't included any here. We saw a ton of deer in the field behind the hotel one morning. There is also a playground that my son loved playing on. I subtracted a star because the food at this place is not wonderful. The property isn't close to other places to eat, and there aren't many options on the resort. The little general store is convenient, except that it's one line to order from Starbucks and also just to check out if you selected grab and go which makes the line very long. Also, prices on grab and go items aren't listed, at all. I tried to buy two bottled waters and a small package of disposable razors, and the total was over $37. Turns out each bottle of water was $8 apiece and the package three disposable razors were $20. I got a pizza from the bar which was advertised as "hot and ready" but it had cold congealed cheese on it. I did appreciate the selection of mocktails and nonalcoholic beer since I don't drink. Other than that we had a wonderful stay and do plan to come back for a longer stay, we will just plan to get any necessities at HEB and eat dinner off the resort.

Yelp
My family and I LOVE this place! We now have agreed to come here at least once a year. Our first time was October 2024 and the weather was still warm that my kids spent most of the time around the lazy river and the one sandy spot where they loved making sand castles. They have lots of events throughout the day for the kids, but honestly they love the water too much to step away. Luckily there's also entertainment by the pool as well. During the summer they have nightly movies and complimentary s'mores. As Hyatt Globalist, we had complimentary breakfast each day. Which helped a lot with cost. They have a huge assortment of food and we were able to find something that my daughter with A LOT of food allergies can eat. The staff was also very helpful in identifying what was safe for her to eat. One lesson we learned from trip 1 to trip 2: must bring your own "beverages" if you know what I mean. That took up the bulk of our spending the first time. Our 2nd trip was more manageable. We also ordered Door Dash one night instead of eating at the restaurants on site. This location is closer to the city so leaving to find food is also not an issue. In comparison to the Hyatt resort in Austin, which we loved also. Love that this will be a tradition for our family in the years to come.

Yelp
This was a great family activity to do and it's not too far from where we were staying at in the River walk area. We went on a Saturday in the first week of November and nobody was there at the pools. We literally had the whole area to ourselves. I wish there were people that were there to ask if we wanted any drink service but we didn't mind just walking up to the bar. There was plenty of self parking. We had to pay for parking and we bought the tickets in advance on their website.

Yelp
If I could give this place more stars I would! I stayed here for a work conference and was blown away by the stay/location. When I come back to San Antonio without a doubt I'll stay here. The place is gorgeous inside and out, they have activities daily , they have wild life like deers, rabbits and adorable baby goats. The resort has an amazing golf course, three different restaurants and several different cozy areas to sit and relax or do work. The weather was chilly this time around and they had the fire places inside on which made the place smell decadent. The pictures just won't do it justice.

Yelp
One of my favorite getaways in Texas is here. They have the best customer service, the cleanest rooms, tons of amenities and experiences. The lazy river, pools, and golf course are the biggest things that draws me here. The lazy river is really clean compared to many other places that I've visited. Plenty of pools area to lounge and seats to accommodate guests. This time, we were able to book a murder mystery experience with theme Lights, Camera, Action! The staff was very accommodating and made sure every guests enjoyed their time, great interaction. We didn't solve who the killer was but had too much fun to care. The rooms are big and spacious, even the standard one. It feels very clean and safe here. It's quiet, not the party scene. The only complaint I have is the lack of entrances to the resort from the parking lot.

Yelp
I write to you now from Hyatt Hill Country in San Antonio, where I come less frequently than Hyatt Lost Pines in Bastrop but love comparably for different reasons and advantages. I've been to each resort ~20 times over the years, including this one the first 15 years it was open, and what I come to expect is absolute consistency from both. I'm going to share my experience and how it generally compares to Hyatt Lost Pines. (Pro tip: If the price is too steep, look into day passes at each location for just the pool and spa.) Service: 9.5 / 10 -------- Service is most important to me. Over the years [and as I've grown decades older to accurately gauge varying degrees of hospitality], I've seen Hyatt Hill Country go from 8.5 to 9.0 to 9.5. The 8.5 translates to "good service but slightly antisocial." In contrast, 9.5 means that they know well when to be around and when to give you space. With the groundskeepers at both resorts, they give you more than adequate space to pass through unencumbered by the traditional sounds of San Antonio. In contrast, I'd give Hyatt Lost Pines 10/10 and note their consistency in that for decades. Spa: 9 / 10 -------- The spa at both is an extension of great service, and the all day access is wonderful. If you (or your S.O.) do not relax at the thought of another dude rubbing you down with oils, ask for Anita. She's an artist with deep tissue and accepted my challenge ("try to hurt me") with grace and determination. Best deep tissue massage I've ever had, no joke. Pool (Lazy River): 10 / 10 -------- Right off the bat: Both lazy rivers are amazing. A couple things separate Hyatt Hill Country's: shade; and the surfing area that is immensely fun to stand on but can hurt one's tailbone to fall hard off of it. Hyatt Hill Country, imho, allows for a bit too much bottleneck at the bar sometimes, where Hyatt Lost Pines has a devoted side area to order and wait and get in that's preferable. Side note: yesterday, my family achieved nine tubes tall three separate times, including with two strangers. (Beat that! ) Poolside Bar: 3 / 10 -------- This review comes from my bride, as I don't drink. "The price has doubled and quality has halved. Everything is from a can or a mixer." By contrast, she gives Hyatt Lost Pines a 10. The poolside service is good, but Hyatt Lost Pines employs far more employees so the service there is excellent. Food: 7 / 10 -------- I like Hyatt Hill Country's food more than Hyatt Lost Pines, although after enough time coming here I've grown a bit bored of the menu. After a few days of the food, you'll likely be bored as well. Buffet Pricing: 9 / 10 -------- Hyatt Hill Country is far more than Hyatt Lost Pines here. Adults are $35/person kids are a dollar for year old they are at Hyatt Hill Country. Hyatt Lost Pines I think is like $40+ regardless of age or something far less reasonable. Game Room: 7 / 10 -------- I deduct two points for value of games, but the games they have are actually really good (Jurassic Park and Terminator Salvation with broken sound, for instance). When you buy a gaming card, the game room is most fun when you put in $50 and get a good amount of extra credits. (There aren't enough games for $100 of fun.) Hyatt Lost Pines has focused their game room more on pinball machines, air hockey, and Guitar Hero. Both are fun in their own ways. Ice Cream Machine: 2 / 10 -------- "Good when it actually works," but therein lies the rub. For years under multiple ownerships, it's been laughably unreliable. Don't put cash in the thing, I feel the need to see if I've been charged multiple times, it causes parents to have to explain the swipe and tap system and how "this is not how any of this works." Just get rid of the janky machine and buy a new one already. Hyatt Lost Pines chooses not to host machines with such jank at that location, and I respect the decision. Room: 8 / 10 -------- I'm not deducting points for any reason other than "for the price, I've been wowed by other places I've stayed." But it's nice, clean, a great view from everywhere. But a huge difference between Hyatt Lost Pines and Hyatt Hill Country is that Lost Pines has much included or available in terms of... Amenities: 2 / 10 -------- Coming from a long stretch of Hyatt Lost Pines, it's a drag not to be able to do archery or BB guns or horseback riding or fishing or disc golf or the rest. Nonsensical Upcharges: 0 / 10 -------- Room service wants $20 to deliver on plates rather than in to-go containers? Nonsense. We pay enough to stay here to not deal with nickel and diming shenanigans. I know that the patrons of this establishment can all irritably nullify said upcharges, but why be annoying about it at all Hyatt? Overall: 8.5 / 10 -------- What makes a great vacation are the memories made, and you will not leave here thinking "that was pretty good" but rather "another excellent vacation in the books." Well done as always.

Yelp
Came here for my company's annual sales meeting which is well over 300 people. Thus, I was a captured audience for 3 days.... food was pretty good. Sometimes it was amazing. Some dishes ok. Loved the empanadas, loved the Mac and cheese. Fruit and veggies always fresh. Great snacks. Pros Friendly checkin Nice big room Room clean Makeup mirror Great gym (in the off hours; See note below) Soft towels- like really soft Starbucks onsite Amazing store Great body wash in the room Loved the bed border nightlights that illuminate when you get up Cons A lot of ongoing renovations Gym too small to accommodate a sales conference- a lot of fit people who travel for a living. It was overcrowded in the morning; I couldn't get on the one recumbent bike most mornings. No full length mirror in the room Cashless front desk; couldn't get change.

Yelp
When getting Final Four tickets last Fall, my friend and I looked at San Antonio hotels and found that any hotels near the Alamodome were approximately $1000 per night. We then looked about a half hour away and found the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa at an affordable price for a resort experience and more. I also used status for us to get some nice perks at the resort, and we were very pleased overall with our experience. The hotel has great staff and service, nice restaurants, and also fun activities (mostly for kids but some for anyone). I highly recommend this resort for anyone whether families, couples, or even those in San Antonio for work. In fact, there were two different conferences at the resort over our stay there. Prior to arriving to the resort, one of the guest service managers reached out to see if I needed anything and to answer questions. She was such a great resource! I also found that we had been upgraded to a suite though as my friend and I wanted two double rooms, we ended up requesting to downgrade back to a room similar to what we originally booked (as we didn't want a suite with a king bed and a pullout couch. Neither of us thought that our backs would manage on the pullout. We still appreciated the offer for a complimentary upgrade. We still got a slightly larger room than originally booked with two patios to sit on. Our meals were regularly spent at the Springhouse Cafe where we had dinner one night and breakfast all four mornings. Three of the four breakfasts included the incredible buffet and the last breakfast had a la carte items only. The food was absolutely incredible, and we pulled a great rapport with our server, who served us for three of the four breakfasts. Even if we don't stay at the resort in the future, we would certainly come back for the buffet and meals. The dinner had some great Texas-themed menu items. We also tried to go to Vince's Watering Hole but they were unexpectedly closed even though their hours said they would be open. The service was good and housekeeping always went above and beyond even though they missed a dead roach that was found in the corner of our room right before housekeeping service took place. We pointed it out upon our return to the room, and they took care of it. As we were in nature and there being multiple patio doors, we cannot fault the resort for bugs occasionally getting in though I appreciated it was dead (and would have liked housekeeping to have found it and cleaned it up without us pointing it out). Everything else with service was top notch. Everyday activities included bicycles available for rent, sand volleyball, pickle ball and tennis courts, an arcade, fitness center, water park and pools (including a lazy river and a wave machine), and special activities for the week. Free events included wildlife feeding, musical hula hoops, little critters water activity, water balloon toss, fireside s'mores (our favorite!), family movies, kickball, tug-o-war, hold your horses, nature of the resort with the ranger, battle ship, and more with paid activities including crafts and a jr. ranger experience. As we were on our own and had activities in the city for the Final Four, we really only took part in the s'mores, which was indoors on our first day due to a storm but outside the other days. There was also a murder mystery dinner which was't taking place during our stay but was advertised for a week or two later. If you are staying at a Hyatt Regency and have Globalist status (or had a Guest of Honor certificate like us) for staying 60 nights at a Hyatt over the year, you can get bonus point accrual, early check-in, late check-out, upgrades at check-in based on available (to suites), free breakfast in the hotel restaurant (in this case the buffet at the Springhouse Cafe), elite check-in, and free parking (if booked on points) among other benefits. If you book through the Hyatt Privé, you may even get other benefits in addition to the Globalist benefits including a complimentary room upgrade at time of booking, $100 credit per stay, daily breakfast, welcome amenity, priority for early check-in and late check-in, and free WiFi. It's certainly a great deal to stay at a wonderful resort like this. Though it was a bit chilly for the pool and lazy river and construction was taking place, that should all be better towards the summer. I definitely recommend staying at this hotel, especially then.

Yelp
Stayed at this resort earlier in the week while in town for a conference - good for leisure travel, could do better to accommodate business guests. The conference I attended was managed well, and the food and other services (like WiFi, security and clean bathrooms in common areas) were very good. They also have an excellent gym, which I used daily to work off the excess calories and to recover from sitting all day. My main issue was with my room - while the bed, bathroom, drawers and closets were comfortable and functional and they had an in-room safe, the room was not suitable for working in the evenings and mornings (I spent the day at the conference). Wish they had a proper desk and lamp where I could work, instead of a round table with a non-functional chair and hanging overhead lamp. A secondary issue was they had me in a room right in front of the ice machine, which kept me awake longer than I would have liked. Staff was consistently friendly and competent, and they have a Starbucks cafe on site, so that takes this review from 3 to 4 stars!

Yelp
We enjoyed our visit over Easter. It is a beautiful property with two pools and a lazy river. It's very family-friendly and a little overcrowded with young families due to the holiday weekend, so we mostly hung out at the adult pool, which was a little quieter. They did have nice activities for young families, such as nightly movies and an Easter egg hunt. The Springhouse Cafe had a buffet at breakfast, which was super-crowded. I ordered the avocado toast and coffee, and it was perfect. We particularly enjoyed the Antlers Lodge steakhouse. We had dirty martinis and perfectly cooked steak. The lobby bar area had a nice setup with a view of the property. The indoor bar has pool tables and big screen TVs. Overall, I did not like it as well as the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines, which felt a bit more upscale.

Yelp
We came to the Hyatt for Mother's Day weekend for a little R&R. The hotel is beautiful and the lobby smells Amazing! Check in was fast and the staff was super friendly. Our room was spacious and clean. The bed however was just ok, but not uncomfortable which is a plus. We spent a lot of time at the pool. With there being a pool, slide, and lazy river your kids will never get bored. In cooler months, the water is heated which is great. Everything about this resort was awesome and we'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Beautiful property with tons of activities - assuming you don't go on the "off" season. We were there in early February (good 'ol Texas, it was in the 80s) and only the main pool/lazy river was open, but no additional amenities that would be normally open in Spring/Summer. Felt a bit like a letdown, and the price per night sure didn't seem any lower for it. We enjoyed the nightly smores and strolling the grounds. Great place for families. Rooms were well kept and nicely furnished - felt worth the price in that regard. Paying to park or valet was frustrating given the more than gratuitous parking available - just seems like price gouging at that point. Staff was friendly and helpful throughout.

Yelp
My family and I decided to stay here as it was centrally located to variety of attractions such as seaworld, Alamo and riverwalk, etc. the hotel ground is nice, clean, plenty of amenities offered. We've been spending time in the lazy River pool which is nice since so humid in august. The restaurants are decent, typical resort style meal and prices. We've enjoyed the breakfast buffet. They do take pets which is a plus. Overall would recommend.

Yelp
Great experience. Clean rooms. Great staff. Hidden away feels like not in town. Lazy River so much fun and relaxing. Poolside food was the only downside as it was just ok.

Yelp
Well this place is awesome! We visited over our Spring Break - end of March through the first few days of April - and found it to be the perfect time. The pools were heated and warm, we had nice days, and no crowds. We had two queens and had an upgraded location/patio (room 1503). It was perfect and roomy enough for four of us. The desk/workstation was comfortable with expanded bench seating. The bathroom was fine - a bit small, but everything was nice and new. The beds were comfortable and housekeeping was thorough and visited daily. The location of our room was perfect, our patio opened to a small park and the location for the s'mores each night. A few steps more was the waterslide and lazy river. It was perfect for our active days. The interior of the rooms were brand new, but the outside was a bit more worn. Nothing that caused any issues - but peeling paint on the outer buildings was kind of the norm. The food at the pools was great, not too much of a variety, but enough that we could enjoy two meals there and not too much of a repeat. Plenty of lounge chairs - so many options (on sand, on grass, on cement - near the lazy river, far from the lazy river) and we easily had out choice of seats in early April. The lazy river was quite long and so fun - really a highlight for everyone in the family. The other activities (duck feeding each morning, movies, or s'mores) were very organized, on-time, and well run. The walking path around the whole resort was well maintained and relaxing. The bikes and helmets for rentals were free for an hour but very unmaintained. Bikes were strewn all over the resort and kids just grabbed them and rode. The chance of our family of 4 finding four working bikes in our appropriate sizes would have been a miracle, but my kids still enjoyed quick rides throughout our visit. There was a bit of construction in the lobby when we arrived and apparently that impacted a few restaurants. We did visit the Springhouse Cafe (?) twice for dinner. One night was a buffet that was $29 for age 12 and up, and age 11 and under paid their age. It was a great deal and the food was very good. The second night they didn't have a buffet (they said a large conference just left so they didn't 'need' to have the buffet). That was kind of a bummer. The location isn't IN San Antonio, but there are plenty of grocery/dining/entertainment options nearby and we didn't find the parking situation to be as cumbersome as some Yelpers mentioned. Not sure if we will be vacationing in San Antonio again in the near future, but my kids will be telling anyone who will listen about "the best hotel ever".

Yelp
I recently attended a conference held at this resort and spa. It is marketed as being located in San Antonio and indeed it is but it's a pretty far distance away from some of the main attractions like the Riverwalk. The ride from the airport was approximately 20 minutes and I took it both late at night and early morning with minimal traffic. The resort is gated and so any taxi or other Uber Lyft will need to check in at the gate with the party checking in. When I arrived It was pretty dark, so I didn't get a good look at the grounds, but that next morning the sun was shining bright and I was able to see many of the amenities, including a very large pool, Waterslide, and one of those mini wave pools that was probably very popular with the children. I was not traveling with any and did not really have an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors as it rained for the vast majority of my stay. I was a little disappointed that the construction had relocated the spa and really closed off some of the good walking trails in the facility. They do have a nice size gym and feature two or three of my favorite peloton bikes, as well as treadmills and other similar equipment. I have to admit the layout of the resort is somewhat confusing although it only has four floors. It is pretty well spread out between the sleeping areas, conference areas and the various restaurants that are both internal external but on site. You really could stay at this resort and not have any need to venture out if that is what you're looking to do. I was able to eat and two other restaurants on site and both were pretty good and the prices were reasonable for the location. I also enjoyed a drink at both the lobby bar and a snack at one of the outdoor pool side bars. Food was good and the service was great. I did not take too many pictures of the outdoors as I spent most of my time and many of the large conference rooms. The meals associated with the conference were good as well and featured some great tasting Tex mex options. I will say it was Texas, it was not that warm outside, But the rooms inside were completely frigid, even with me, knowing that is often the case and dressing the part. I was able to sneak away one day and make my way down to the river walk, which was about 15 or so minutes in an Uber and next time I will definitely stay in that area given all the amenities and other things to do. The hotel overall was nice. I was in a large suite room which was spacious and included large sitting and dining area as well as a large sectional couch that had a sofa bed. I will say I was on the third floor, but my windows were directly facing the main entrance of the hotel and got to be a quiet noisy early in the morning as guest were arriving and departing, and staff were doing their normally duties. Overall great day, good food reasonably priced and a good location if you're looking to have a small to midsize conference.

Yelp
The rooms are decently sized and have the necessary amenities. The bathroom itself isn't that large though. The entrance to the parking is staffed and felt secure. The lazy river doesn't flow in some areas but still nice to use. Visited the bar on Saturday night and had two drinks and a mocktail. The mocktail was hibiscus flavored and tasty. The margarita was batch made so I would not recommend. The other cocktail was a version of an old fashioned. That was well crafted. Additionally we ordered food which took about 15-20 mins to come out but tasted delicious and was hot. Bartenders were very nice and attentive to each person even when it got very crowded. The only downside was there was not enough staff to clear the tables so it got pretty littered with glasses and plates.

Yelp
I was at the pool about a week ago. I couldn't open this document because I didn't have my reading eyeglasses with me. I asked the young lady if she could help me. I needed to print it and sign it by 5 pm. Her name is Aislinn Riojas She went way and beyond for me. I was just very grateful that she was there, very helpful she was quick and great attitude, I just loved her. She was a sweetie and I highly recommend her for a raise. The bar was really nice inside as well. Great staff bartender Knowledgeable of our drinks. Cibillo restaurant had great menu and plenty for two with one plate. We had The snapper and the smoke chicken pasta was Amazing. My hat off to the chef. Excellent! everybody was exceptionally nice thank you. Aislinn Riojas, Rivertop poolside server. Thanks again

Yelp
5 star+ service. Very clean. Small pool and small lazy river. Had food and drinks at poolside bar and grill. Had breakfast at cafe and the pancakes reminded me of my grandmothers. Spa was being remodeled as well as larger restaurant. Only deducted star because room didn't have microwave or dresser to store items you can't hang. Missed lotion. Also had strange whining chopping noise we noticed at night.

Yelp
We booked a reservation at this resort 2 months in advance. Online checked in to the resort at around 6pm on the day of arrival on our drive to the resort. At 8pm, we are informed from Angelica that they given away our room bc they overbooked the resort. To try and make it ok, they also informed us that this was happening to others this same weekend. As a consolation, they did transfer us to a hotel down the road (mile away but "walking distance") that had less amenities, lower rating, and cheaper rooms. The fact that they had to do this to us and others AND the fact that they had already set us up with a "sister" hotel tells me this is a normal occurrence. Bonus: we got an automated text asking how our stay was even though we weren't even there! Lol

Yelp
Visited this resort NYE weekend as part of a multi family vacation. The resort itself was nicely put together. As you drive in it feels very woodsy and you'll get that same feeling as you walk into the hotel with its large wood burning fireplaces and firewood scent. The self parking area can feel like quite a hike, especially if you don't find close parking and end up in the back. It's a shame that self parking carries a fee. The rooms were what you would expect. We had adjoining rooms which helped make the space feel bigger and the balcony was a nice add on. The amenities the hotel had were decent. For kids they had quite the activities planned like duck feeding in the morning, kids play area with bounce house, campfire smores, evening movie nights, and some more that we didn't explore. It was nice to be able to have some preplanned things for the kids but we apart from the duck feeding we did things once during a 4 day stay. We didn't eat much at the resort itself but did have breakfast on our way out at the springhouse cafe. It's your standard breakfast menu but they do offer a breakfast buffet as well for $29/person. If you are able to fill up it might be a deal especially with entrees being $15/plate on average...We ended up doing entrees as it was more than enough food. If you plan on visiting San Antonio itself, keep in mind that the riverwalk will be about a 20 minute drive.

Yelp
Loved our experience here. We did a resort pass during the week and we were able to access the whole property our day pass. The adult pool was perfect for us and there were barely any kids there during this time. So if you're looking for. Quick "daycation" this is perfect for you and your significant other. My boy friend and I had a great time relaxing around the lazy river, getting drinks and eating small bites from their man bar. The drink were really good and everything is rarely priced. The staff at the spa and at the bar was extremely nice and accommodating. This place is extremely relaxing and screams zen as you're walking around. We will definitely be back to book a full staycation now that we've got the experience of the amenities.

Yelp
The Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort is not worth the money. I would visit friends and use the amenities again on a hot summer day, but I would not pay for a room here. Really poor service at the front desk and the place is falling apart. Needs a lot of Maintenance - seems very dangerous. Parking is extremely far away so get your waking shoes! Wave pool costs extra. Hot tubs out of order all week - cmon!

Yelp
My bestfriend and I took a daycation at the Lost Pines spa. Upon arrival to the resort, we were able to locate parking easily at the back. Visitor parking will either be $8 or $12 depending on your stay. We booked our package through resort pass, but later discovered we could have saved about $40 if we booked day of at the spa. The package includes two complimentary drinks (wine, champagne or mimosas) access to the indoor/outdoor hot tubs, outdoor pool, sauna, steam room, lounge room and showers. The receptionist were very nice and gave us a brief tour of all accesses we had. Each aspect was perfect, it was unfortunately too hot to really enjoy the outside area. But relaxing nonetheless. There is a restaurant located on site that you may order from at the lobby desk. We ordered a few small bites as well as a cocktail. We stayed for about 6 hours, ending the day with a marvelous shower. They also provide shower caps, hair brushes and mouthwash. The spa pass is a great idea for a day trip, a girls day or group trip. We will be returning.

Yelp
We booked this resort specifically as a spa getaway. When we arrived, we were told that the spa was shut down. There was no prior notification by the resort that the spa wouldn't be available. This was very frustrating as the spa was one of the reasons that we booked this resort. So we decided to try the hot tub by the pool. It wasn't even heated. When we returned to the room to shower, we realized that the shower didn't drain. We called to have it fixed and was assured that it was addressed. Nope-day two of a backed up shower bathing in dirty water. And now we don't have hot water at all. The room we were given looked directly out at the hotel's construction site. We didn't even want to be on the balcony due to the rotted wood and shaky spindles. I would be concerned if a child was on the balcony due to the condition. There was a dance event that weekend and young girls were loudly running up and down the hall into the night. So we paid over $500/night for Motel 6 accommodations. When I tell you to save your money and book elsewhere please heed this advice. This property is run down and inoperable and still calls itself a report. We won't be back.

Yelp
Such a beautiful and relaxing resort. We brought our kiddos here and the whole experience was amazing. The kids had so much fun and never got bored over our 3 night stay here. The whole property is gorgeous and well maintained.

Yelp
terrible tv, only basic news propaganda stations and 20 yr old law and order. the showers have no railings, so you better watch out when you shampoo. and the refrigerator smells so awful like garlic that you cannot put anything in it!!! do yourself a favor and go to jw!! this used to be the best!!! now, it's the worst!

Yelp
Terrible customer service. I was charged for my family members room fees (which we didn't book together at all) a week later. We called them back and Brian and Leann were very rude and no help with the unauthorized charges. They said if my family member didn't pay then they can't take it off our credit card. Will never recommend this place to anyone and watch out if you even mention having side by side rooms with your friends or family they will just tack on unauthorized charges!

Yelp
Okay I came here for a conference. It felt a bit like I was driving out to the backwoods to be killed -- but I guess if you want to have space then you need to be a out a bit. As we approached I noticed roller coasters so I was slightly excited. Sea World and Six Flags Fiesta Texas were right next door... unfortunately it was not in the cards for me to attend this time -- but mama I would. The resort itself is nice when you walk in. I waited a long time to be checked in. I was standing in line. A new agent came forward to help guests and didn't offer to help us but helped a walk up. That was a bit strange and disappointing. When I addressed it she said oh I didn't see you.. listen I am 6' and NOT small you cannot miss me. Anyway she gave me a room with a "view" of the pool and lazy river and golf course and a balcony. NOPE she gave me a room with a view of 100% tree in our face and no balcony. Ummm NOT at all worth the $400+ we were paying. What a joke. All decorations in the room were the same in every room I swear. Very country and felt a bit like a bunk house for the cowboys in decor. The sitting area was nice and comfortable strangely and I was in love with the table. The little mirror (magnifying) from the bathroom worked wonders at the table as it was more the right height there. The mirror itself lit up I swear they get a star just for that. Our rooms were cleaned regularly and that as a nice surprise as we were told there would be no housekeeping. Showers were regular showers with a curtain and our curtain was put on backwards with the water proof side outside... and we couldn't change it. The dining places do not stay open late enough and so we never had options for food late at night when we were coming back from conference. We had a 5k early one morning and the staff literally told us that we had to be done sooner than contracted due to a golf tournament they overbooked. ummm what? I guess this is a great place if you want to sit around and/or play golf. It was just a meh experience. Certainly would not choose to stay here again and I am a hyatt snob.

Yelp
We checked in, got settled into a clean room and enjoyed a workout in their pretty decent gym. We started talking about perhaps visiting again. Then our stay turned into a nightmare the hotel refused to rectify and a situation that endangered guests. Upon returning from our workouts, we discovered someone was taping something outside our room door. Someone had plugged in something to the electrical socket outside our room and was taping it down to the carpet leading to the exit next to our room door (see photos). The best part? The mysterious cord was leading outside and the same person was propping the emergency exit door open with a large rock. Did I mention that door was about a foot from our hotel room door? What was outside the door? A massive parking lot and a wooded area. Surely they were not going to leave that setup on a night when the weather was forecast to be close to freezing, right? Leaving a door open on a freezing night so that anyone could wander in from the wooded area or huge parking lot on an open resort campus? Or worse, an open door where one of the children of the many families with small kids could wander out and be endangered. We called the front desk and very politely explained the situation. Then the Hyatt resort staff explained that they had no outdoor plugs and that they needed the plug for a floodlight because when the building was constructed, there was insufficient lighting for the parking lot. Did they really expect us to believe that every guest who stayed in our room was subject to an open door to a large parking lot and a wooded area so that they could light the parking lot properly??? When I explained the dangers and the absursity of someone paying hundreds of dollars to stay in a room next to an unmanned open door where anyone could wander in, they offered to move us to another room. Okay, but what about the security breach and the safety of all the others in our hallway? It was clear that the Hyatt resort staff could care less about our safety or that of the other guests in our hallway. Shame on the Hyatt staff making these choices. Shame on them for compromising the safety of people who have paid good money to stay there trusting that it is a safe place. The management refused to acknowledge the safety issue at all. When I asked if they would stay in that room under those conditions, they refused to answer. The lady with whom we spoke had clearly rehearsed her floodlight story and the history of the hotel and was going to talk in circles rather than solve the real issue. Surely a business like this would have at least one portable generator it could use if they truly needed it. If not, the Hyatt resort is charging people enough that they could send someone down to Lowe's to buy one at a low price. It is not that tough. We were visiting in part to attend a business event being hosted at the resort. The company had more then 1,000 guests for a party and a significant number of blocks of rooms. We attended the event and left instead of staying the night in Hyatt hell. We felt more comfortable driving three hours home than staying anywhere n that place. But on our way out, we drove by the woods and parking lot area outside the room we had left next to the open emergency exit. There was no floodlight. Instead, there was a small group of young women and possibly others we could not see huddled around a heating lamp of some sort under a small canopy. No floodlight connected to the cord that we could see. Just the heating lamp. If these ladies were Hyatt employees, why were they forced to stand outside on a cold, windy night after 10pm? Why not provide them a space indoors? Why not use one of the many portable heaters used for the covered outdoor portion of the event we had attended? Did I mention there was no floodlight anywhere in the area and that the parking lot was well lit? We know because we could see the vehicles of party guests stacked 4 cars deep. We do not support businesses who endanger their customers or treat their employees poorly. We will never stay here again. We just pray that none of those young ladies are in danger huddled outside in the cold and that no one's toddler wanders out that door into that full parking lot where they could be run over.

Yelp
We have visiting this resort for 18 years and it is always absolutely amazing. Great rooms, extraordinary service, and attention to detail. Nothing beats the lazy river on a hot day. Such an amazing place for a family vacation! Great for all ages and so many activities every single day! We love the nightly movies on the lawn and s'mores pit!!

Yelp
Great hotel with a nice spa! Visited or a work trip. Aside from the smell of campfire permeating a few areas when they're doing s'mores..it's clean and well appointed. Mostly updated with good food and pleasant common areas. Definitely worth a visit to their spa...reasonably priced and friendly staff in a nice atmosphere. I'd return though it is a smidge pricey.

Yelp
Rude staff. Called in to inquire about certain amenities. The person I spoke to was very rude and abrupt with her answer, like I was bothering her. So, no worries, I'll be planning on my vacation at some other resort.

Yelp
Nice resort in San Antonio. The lazy river is nice to cruise around for the day. The wave rider cost extra. Make sure you return your towels because they will hit you for 15.00 per towel. There is a swim up bar in the lazy river so that's nice but not sure if the lazy river is chlorinated? The rooms are nice with a frig and coffee maker but a tad small for the price. Nicely recently renovated

Yelp
I recently stayed at this hotel for a work trip. There were definite pros and cons, but overall, I'd recommend it. Pros: -The redone rooms are beautiful -The staff is fantastic -I really enjoyed the amenities - e.g., pool, rambling river, fire pits with s'mores, nature feeding in the morning Cons: -The walls in the new rooms are SO THIN. I could clearly hear my neighbor snoring over top of his TV every night -Construction was a bummer. Good portions of the trail around the building were blocked off -The on-site restaurants were meh -The on-site store was waaay overpriced ($9 deodorant)

Yelp
It's a nice place and nice service. We love the shaded pool and lazy River and the kids love the sand area. The pool area food needs to be updated like charcuterie, bruschetta and specialty sandwiches. I received a sandwich I could make at home I wanted to be dazzled. It is a beautiful place if you are looking for a hotel or staycation.

Yelp
My family and I booked a night at the HHC for Father's Day weekend. We started our day on Saturday at the Cactus Oaks restaurant at the Golf area of the resort. After ordering, we experienced a pretty long delay in getting out food. We asked to speak to a manager and Marie, our server called them for us. Jason came to our table and apologized and asked to "make it right" for us. I am SO IMPRESSED at his level of service and care to help us. He went over an above to turn our visit around, and he succeeded! He took care of our meal, spent time with us to suggest activities for the weekend. I saw him out at the pool later that day and he offered to buy my wife and I a beverage. While I didn't take him up on that, his service and care continued. Marie and the other server (so sorry, can't remember her name), were great, and Jason was just top notch. Thank you to the leadership at HHC for inspiring Jason to deliver amazing service and go the extra mile to make my Father's Day a memorable weekend!

Yelp
We love this place. We went away for a couples retreat. This is definitely family friendly, and during the summer there are quite a few kids around. But there are plenty of places for you to steal away to avoid all the normal kids stuff. We did love the adults only pool. But also enjoyed being in the other areas where kids are around. Food was good, pretty overpriced, but completely normal for a resort. The refurbished rooms were a wonderful addition. We really enjoyed a great night sleep. Service was excellent.

Yelp
You pull up with a country club feel w a human gated community. Drive straight to get to the hotel. Tons of parking but we were there a night before a rain storm. Before I forget, I want to say thank you to front desk agent Mac to making our birthday weekend trip 4 stars! 5? Whatever the most we can give him! He's the person you want in the hospitality world! He can answer questions before you even ask! Give him employee of the month for just dealing with me. Property wise... One fun green slide. I was scared at first but I see all these 5yr olds under 42 inches zooming down the slide over and over...a grand paren5 holding a baby who wasn't scared so I thought why not? I'm glad those lil tiny humans inspired bravery in me. The wave runner - it's $30 bucks! I'm just not balling like that to make a fool of myself. Smores! From a fire pit. 6pm but you can go earlier cause we got there at 5pm and they were ready for the crowd, don't know if it's like that all the time. Movie outdoors - wish they put what movie but it was our dinner time so we opted out. Bicycles - need update, cause some brakes don't work. Handle cushions look used and abused. Still manageable. If it's rocky, it's not you, it's the bike. Golf course and spa I didn't have time to check out. But wish I did. Next time, after their Renovation end of the year.

Yelp
Walmart Experience at Four Seasons Prices Despite me initiating repeated phone calls, texts and emails with hotel staff prior to checkin and throughout our stay, the staff managed to botch more than they got right. Sure, the staff doled out monetary concessions left and right (and always with a smile) thus losing money for the property and only bandaiding our issues (i.e. charging the wrong credit card for one of the rooms, no wait staff checked on us at all at our rented cabana, room service breakfast was denied because the credit card on file "wasn't recognized", etc.) The property is run down at best. Finishes and accessories are cheap imitations and the guest room ceiling fixture that replicates a hangman's noose is disgusting. The staff has not been fully trained, and while making an admirable effort they are unable to process the most simplistic of staff duties. Housekeeping is stellar, but "sows ear /silk purse" is real at this property.

Yelp
We were a bit disappointed with this resort. It is a tad tired and in need of a refresh. The room we had was a good size but the furniture in the livingroom area felt more like patio furniture. It was very uncomfortable to sit on for any period of time. There was a pull out sofa that was also the seating for the dining table so it was not very useful to sit on to watch TV or just to interact with others in the room. There was a lot of wasted space in both the livingroom and bedroom. It seems like they could use a decorator to help the Hyatt in setting up the rooms! There was no microwave in the room so taking any leftovers from their restaurant is worthless. There is no way to heat them up! The breakfast at their Cafe was pretty good. You could get the buffet or order off their menu. We enjoyed the buffet two days. They have just about everything including a made to order omelet station. The service the first morning was not the best but every other time we ate there, the servers were very attentive and friendly. We enjoyed the Lazy River the most. Since it was not very crowded, we were able to really relax and just float our worries away!! A server named Bailey was kind enough to come out to us at our chaise lounges to see if we needed anything from the Poolside eatery & bar. We appreciated her reaching out to us! Everyone at the resort was very friendly. We didn't come across anyone who didn't offer a smile and a "hello!" Due to the uncomfortable room, I'm not sure we'd go back unless they decide to redecorate the rooms with some comfortable furniture and a microwave. We would have spent time at the bar in the lobby but it was crowded with convention attendees and there was no room. They advertised plans to add a nice lagoon with water activities, which sounds wonderful! I just hope they take a look at the rooms when upgrading.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to spend some quality time with our two teen boys. We decided to stay at this resort. This resort was nice. We drove up and had our bags taken to our room. My husband then went to park our vehicle. There is a huge parking lot but you will have to walk to get back to the resort. As you walk in there's a huge lobby area where people spend time lounging around. After we got our room key we headed to the elevators. There are two elevators on each side of the resort. As big and busy as this place is we didn't have any wait time or problems with the elevators. We got to our floor and then went to our room. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of our room. It was a little more spacious than a typical hotel room. Our room had two queen beds, a sitting area with a table and chairs. The sitting area was a great place for my teens to just hang out. The bed and pillows were very soft and comfortable. The sheets and bedspread kept me warm. There was a mini fridge which came in handy for storing water and left over food but there was a huge block of ice inside of it that was melting and made a puddle in our room. We had someone come look at it and they said that they just needed to do a swap out but nobody ever came back to take care of that so we just put a towel there to keep the water from puddling. That was really our only issue here. The room had a coffee pot but we didn't use it. It also had a good size sink with lots of counter space which I appreciate. The toilet is average. The shower was awesome. It had two shower heads. A rain shower and an adjustable removable shower head. It was spacious and had shampoo, conditioner and body wash. I'd say this is the best shower I've ever experienced in a Hotel. The resort includes several pools, a lazy river, a water slide, biking, nature trails, golf, tennis, sand volleyball and other things. They also have several places to eat. Vince's Watering Hole was decent for an outdoor poolside restaurant. I got the Margherita Panini and it was the perfect size outdoor lunch. We also tried the Springhouse Cafe. They have the option to eat from the buffet or to eat from the menu. We chose menu items. I tried the Asada baked potato and a side of Mac and cheese. It was really good. Overall my family had a great time. The room size, shower, and amenities were all great!

Yelp
Don't go to Hyatt Hill Country. Selling pool day passes has led to an overrun and insanely crowded property. We were so disappointed to see cars parked up and down the access streets on our way in. They don't even allow Hyatt Residence OWNERS from Wild Oak Ranch sister property to access the property anymore because it's so over taken by day pass people. Forget about the people actually staying on property! Why would they need chairs at the pool. It's just a party place for locals now. So disappointing.

Yelp
My one night, mid-week visit at the end of March 2021 was a good one overall. This being my first visit, I was somewhat concerned after reading recent reviews but overall the stay was a positive one. The visit was a family affair, including my brother and his 3 young kids and our mom. Upon arrival, the check-in process was easy, front desk friendly and we were upgraded to patio rooms. The lobby and property is very nice and well maintained, although lobby furniture is beginning to show its age. The rooms could use some updating as the furniture is older but the beds are comfy and the room clean. We didn't spend much time in the rooms because the kids spent the majority of the time outside, either in the lazy river and on the water slide. In the evening, the kids roasted s'mores and watched a kids movie on the lawn. If you're wanting to be near the lazy river beach area and the wave runner, request a room in the 500s wing. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the cafe. Service was fast and friendly and the food tasted good; it is rather pricey. The only real negative I can mention is the miscommunication on dining hours. Myself and others found the poolside grill and hotel bar closed at hours we were informed they would be open. This is rather frustrating when you walk across the property. I understand Covid has everything messed up but staff should be providing accurate information on operating hours. With all this in mind, this hotel is great for families with elementary age kids. I don't know that I would recommend this spot for solo or couples traveling.

Yelp
Chose the Hyatt Regency Hill Country in San Antonio for a long weekend getaway to celebrate 32 year anniversary. Had a few problems at check-in but reached out to manager and problems were fixed. My favorite rooms at the Hyatt Hill Country are the quiet rooms with a view, away from the pool. This place is great for a getaway as they have great walking trails for early morning walks. In the evening make sure you gather to have a s'more or 2 around the fire pit. Then hang out for a bit to enjoy the family movie. Charlie's Long Bar is the perfect place for a night time bite and night cap before heading back to a quiet room to rest. In the morning a cup of coffee and a walk or sitting on the rocking chairs is a great way to start the day. Had breakfast and dinner at the on-site restaurant. Spent time at the spa, my advice but a day pass at the spa and enjoy the drinks, snacks and the different saunas. The back porch is the perfect place to sit and reflect. The lobby has gigantic fireplaces that are nice to sit and read a book.
