Hyatt Regency Mainz (Mainz, Rheinland-Pfalz) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Mainz is a city that loves to show off its Rhineside grandeur, particularly (and expectedly) where it touches the old town. Hyatt Regency chose their spot well, in other words, even going so far as to incorporate the charming 19th-century Fort Malakoff into its premises. A set of sunkissed terraces make for relaxed bookends to days spent touring all the patrician jewels along the river. Rooms respect the sense of place with bright, airy layouts and front-row seats to the cityscape in the sunset." - Tablet Hotels

Great hotel, great location on the Rhein and close to city center with many dining choices. Large, clean rooms, had a view of the Rhein. Gym, pool and spa area larger than expected. Spa, sauna and steam room with locker area no extra charge. Bar with indoor and outdoor seating. Second time here, now first choice for lodging in this area

Good|Bed comfy and room spacious. |Pool area nice and clean. |Bar prices very reasonable - nice cocktails. |Good choice at breakfast and in nice area overlooking Rhine.||Needs improvement|Hotel seems to be aimed for corporate types as staff felt a little dismissive to us. |Air con not existent - even had a card to leave in the slot by door ‘to keep room cool’ which shows it is inefficient. Luckily we could open the window which we left open all night to keep us cool and the temperature was not too high during our stay.|Whilst room was clean the grouting in shower floor needed attention and looked grimy. |Lighting in room and bathroom very dull.|Breakfast was mix of service - day 1 no-one to greet us so sat ourselves down. Day 2 and 3 someone to greet us but reminded rather tersely on day 3 when arrived for breakfast at 9.10am that they close at 10am - we were finished by 9.35 ! Day 4 we were greeted and once seated offered hot drinks and omelettes cooked to order! Not offered before. Some of the rolls and muffins were dry and things such as pancakes and croissants ran out and took awhile to be replenished no matter what time we were there,|In the bar every night we waited for service but ended going up to the bar each time to order after waiting and no one coming to serve us. The outside area seemed prioritised. ||Left feeling disappointed as not a cheap stay. Our next stay was at same hotel brand in Cologne and found this much better in terms or service, room amenities and breakfast food quality.

We stayed here recently for several days. The room with a river view was lovely. It was really nice to have face cloths, and an iron and board available without asking. The room was especially clean and comfortable. Every single staff person (other than some in the dining room) we spoke with was very helpful, courteous and friendly. The food is the bit of a downfall here. We did not find the dinners to be as nice as those we'd had other places. Leaning toward the pretentious side, without real reason to do so. The morning breakfast buffet is extensive, but the servers there seem to be unhappy with their lot in life. No matter. You'll do fine waiting on yourself. We'd be happy to stay here again, should we be in the area.

Very nice hotel in an excellent location on the river bed. Very spacious lobby, but also our room was quit big, with a nice bathroom, very very big TV and a good bed. The hotel is very luxurious, but build alongside a old castle. Very nice. Easy parking in the garage beneath the hotel. For us a excellent location as our final stop on the way home. We'll most likely be back because of it. Highly recommend...

Google
Superb hotel. After travelling 10 days around Germany and Europe, this was a standout hotel for us! Easy to get to and secure (yet expensive) parking. We were kindly upgraded to a corner Rhine view room and it was fantastic! Lovely comfy bed - would recommend!

Always a great stay in this awesome hotel. I will continue to come back every time I’m in Mainz. Amazing breakfast and spa area to include the gym and swimming pool. Spacious private parking and incredible location makes this the perfect spot for a stay in the city.

We recently returned to this hotel for a 3 night stay before a Rhine river cruise. The hotel is about a half hour drive from Frankfurt and is located at the convergence of the Rhine and Main rivers. We went out of our way to stay here even though our cruise departed from Frankfurt. Sitting on the banks of the Rhine, the views from the hotel are wonderful and you can watch the barge traffic going up and down the 2 rivers at all hours. We always stay in a club level room (this time was #639) as these have floor to ceiling opening windows - the premium club rooms are the best as they are at the end of the hotel and offer larger rooms with the best views and opening doors. Included with the club rooms is breakfast in the Bellpepper restaurant which offer a very nice variety of items as well as letting you order off of a menu (we tried omelets one morning). Also, there is an evening happy hour at the club lounge with a nice selection of wines and snacks. Close by there is a sushi restaurant at the end of the block and the central square with the cathedral and shops is about a 15 minute walk. It is also a 15 minute walk to the Mainz central train station where we departed for a day trip to Koblenz. As we were not in town for business, we did not care to be in central Frankfurt, but did rent a car in Mainz for a drive to Heidelberg Castle and Auerbach Fortress. |The rooms are well appointed and spacious and the staff are always willing to assist- our windows did not open and the desk staff was quick to arrive with a special key to solve the problem. There is a very nice full length heated lap pool as well as a full service spa. While we did not visit the spa, the pool was a welcome site after a long international flight. We cannot recommend this hotel enough and will always return when we visit Germany!

Google
One of the best hotels in Mainz. Near the city center, 3-4 minutes walk, in a quiet place on the banks of the Rhine River. Great walk along the embankment. The hotel and rooms are clean. The rooms are bright, comfortable. Great view from the window. Bar and restaurant good service and menu.

Yelp
First time in Mainz Germany and stayed in this place. Gorgeous hotel. The decor and architecture designs were amazing. Love the castle red brick wall outside setting up an old vibe era. Our room was kinda tight but good enough to walk around. Liked the white linens that covered the beds. Marina the receptionists was so friendly and helpful. Would stay again if in Mainz

Yelp
It's a really nice hotel in a great location. The staff are super friendly and the rooms are nice. Unfortunately I have to deduct a star for the air conditioning situation. In the summertime the heat is oppressive and the air stagnant in the rooms. I had hoped it was just my room the first time but it is the entire hotel. As an American, I know the air conditioning situation is different in Europe, but even by those standards it is very bad for a hotel of this class. More frustrating was I could not open the window for some cool evening air. While I love the hotel otherwise , in the summer I will stick with the airport Hyatt so I can have a good nights sleep.

Yelp
This Hyatt offers outstanding service. Everything about my stay was perfect, the service, the food, the staffs attention to detail. I was left to desire nothing. They anticipated everything I could need. The spa is very relaxing and peaceful. Everyone spoke English and was very helpful. This hotel exceeded my expectations. I recommend it for both business and leisurely travel. As a bonus it's located on the river!

Yelp
We came from the Park Hyatt in Hamburg to this pleasant hotel, fully expecting a sense of downgrade. However, we have fallen head over heels for Park Regency in Mainz. The Hyatt level of service I have come to expect and could identify blindfolded, is in full employ here in Maintz. Our check in was most pleasant and the club lounge staff is the same. Something about the Hyatt experience reassures me that, if something were to displease me, it would be fixed! And fast!! It is a joy to be cared for by Hyatt professionals ... Then I must dwell on the location. Mainz is a lovely little place outside the bustle of Frankfurt. It is full of history and culture and situated along a riverbank. And in the primest of locations, along that bank, lies the Hyatt Regency. The pristine remains of an 1800s military fort is accommodated as the southern wall of the hotel lobby! I've never seen anything like it. The post modern lobby, complete with minimalist tavern, is walled on one side by an 1839 fort! I stood amazed for a moment, taking it in. The room levels of the building do not disappoint. Our room is, at the same time, cool and modern and cozily comfortable. An entire wall of our single room looks out over the river boardwalk. The scene outside, joggers and locals walking dogs, is so bright and welcoming! We are considering a late check out tomorrow to better enjoy our short time here, which is not something we do regularly. Visit this little gem of a hotel, and thank me later.

Yelp
Mainz is a half-an-hour train ride on S8 from the Frankfurt Airport. Hyatt Regency is close to the train station in Mainz and next to the the Rhine River. Beautiful location, super friendly staff, and nice room with a view of the Rhine. Mainz is a cute place to explore, with a surprisingly lively and busy downtown. Several supermarkets around the corner of the hotel, and many restaurants close by. The club lounge is quite nice, well-stocked with drinks, fruits, and delicious yogurts, and provides a good alternative to eating out. Our room was very comfy, and we very much enjoyed our stay there.
