Hyatt Regency Mccormick Place

Wear comfortable shoes if you were attending a convention! Lots of walking, but easy walking. You really never have to leave The comfort of air-conditioning if you do not want to, however, The area is very biking and walking accessible. Once we figured out the connections to waterfront park, it was easy to get all the way down to see the sites! Don’t forget to get some deep dish pizza! Restaurants included are a little bit pricey, but on par With other restaurants in the city. Good service, reasonable food quality rooms were very clean and comfortable.

The location is excellent for us, since we stayed 3 nights for the chess tournament just in the convention center attached to the hotel. The service was very average, some were friendly and nice, some were not. The gym is clean with newer equipment and even water to drink and laundry is just next door from the gym, which was convenient. The buffet breakfast was nice, but the prices came out different each day. I tipped around 20% but for 2 persons myself and kiddo, the bill came out day 1 $32, day 2 $48, day 3 $54.94…It was the same buffet breakfast, so i guess the bill amount changes based on some other rules…strange. The room had comfortable beds and nice daily cleaning. The door frame had a section for door latch with dirty stuff in there was a bit gross. The hair dryer was also sticky and gross. The pillows were very comfortable and the air conditioner worked great. Overall a good experience. 😊

Overall I had a great stay for a business trip. Its location is fantastic if you're going to a conference at McCormick Place. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice and clean- what I would expect for the cost (which is a bit pricey). I didn't eat at the restaurants, but they appeared unremarkable (however at least there are a couple options). There's lots more options within a walking distance to go out to eat. I would stay here again and recommend it to conference attendees.

Stayed here for a conference with a co-worker. Beautiful hotel and lobby area to hang in while we waited for our flights home. Definitely business centered and friendly. LOVED that there was a spot for hotel guests to "check" their luggage until it was time to head to the airport. Very nice feature!

My husband and I stayed here for a conference in June 2024. We arrived on a Thursday and returned home that Saturday. We stayed on the 17th floor. On Monday after returning home, we realized we had brought back BED BUGS from our stay. Over one month, thousands of dollars in exterminator fees and many, many loads of laundry later we think we got rid of them. An absolute nightmare. Avoid staying here or, at the very least, check your room thoroughly and be cautious when bringing luggage home!!

the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place is a great hotel, very nicely located with connection to the Convention Center and other hotels nearby. The front desk staff (Rayya, Kiki, Tony and many others) were amazing and highly professional. Breakfast had good selections including for a la carte ordering. Rooms are very clean and housekeeping services were excellent.

The carpet and wallpaper is a little dated - the hotel was built in 98 and it kinda sorta still looks like a 90s hotel. But the location is amazing. Great for travelers coming in for a conference at McCormick Center or a show at Wintrust Arena, and great for families that want to be downtown but not in the Loop. It's a very quiet area, with lots of great restaurants and parks within a short walking distance.

The size of the hotel room was really amazing, and the lobby area and restaurant were perfect too. However, if you plan to be close to downtown Chicago (Michigan Avenue - Magnificent Mile), this hotel might not be the best choice. It took around 25-30 minutes by bus, with stops and traffic, especially since it was Memorial Day. The staff was not perfect; Ashley at the front desk was really rude and disrespectful when I was checking in and trying to get a room with a good view. She should have had a better attitude. Additionally, I requested a complimentary check-out until 1 pm, but they refused. Overall, it's a nice hotel, and I may stay here again.

We came here for just a one night stay due to an event at McCormick Plaza and this hotel being directly connected. The hotel is very nice, but note there is no parking near the front lobby, so if you're checking in to the hotel you can park first. Parking was $38 per night and $50 something for valet parking. The staff at the hotel provided great service. We were able to check in quickly, and our room was in the South section on the 21st floor all the way at the end of a hallway so we had a south view with the lake to the left and the city to the right. For those sensitive to smells, the hotel lobby scent is a bit strong. The room itself was nice, bathroom seemed recently renovated. One annoying issue was the light in the closet kept turning on at the slightest movement in the room even in the middle of the night. We wished the provided shampoo/conditioner/lotion was more allergy friendly as they also have strong scents.

10/13/23 UPDATE: After speaking to the Manger Octavio this morning I've decided to change my rating of this establishment: 0.1/5 I didn't complain while there not once but the fact that they charged my account additional money on the day of checkout and didn't notify me as to why... not okay. I called twice - was on hold for the "accountant" for over 10 mins before hanging up. Then I called back and asked for the manager and was placed on hold again over 10 mins. Then the lady came into the line and asked did the manager help you? I told her no and then was told "I'm going to walk over to his desk". She had to walk over to this guys desk (Octavio) in order to prompt him in answering the call. RIDICULOUS. Then Octavio tells me I was charged money because of the "water bottles" in the room when they said "Complimentary". Look, if someone has been traveling, paying an arm and leg to stay at your establishment and does a walk through of the room to see (2) "complimentary" water bottles how would they not think oh these are for me!? Never the less. I was told my funds will be back in my account by next week. HERE's some SUGGESTION: keep the waters at the front desk and give them to the guest at the time of check-in. Also, someone should do a second walkthrough of the room after it's "cleaned" to make sure it's cleaned properly and not lazily. Beautiful and huge hotel. A bit pricy. [THE EXPERIENCE] My room was nice but there were strands of hair in certain places: bed, shower, sink, toilet. Other than the hairs the room was nice, comfortable. Tv selection was subpar - the channel selections was lacking. [FOOD] Ate at ARC BAR and regretted it. The food was disappointing. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Nachos and the shredded cheese they put on it wasn't even melted. So it was just shredded cheese on tortilla chips with meat. - 2.5/5 RUN!!! Don't waste your time or money ordering from them!!! Also visited MARKET TO-GO a couple times --5/5 Customer Service was great!! Lots of selections like: chicken tenders, mac & cheese, other hot side dishes, yogurt parfaits, cookies, health bars, energy drinks, adult beverages, lattes, various snacks AND MORE! [SHOUTOUTS] Micaela at Market to-go has impeccable customer service! Maria her supervisor very kind as well. Front desk staff -- professional and good customer service. Security personnel -- nice - opening the car door for guests when you get dropped off in-front of lobby.

Stayed here, opted in for an upgrade to a city view room. The room was very nice, clean and house keeping was good. The in-room coffee maker worked and the k-cups were fine. The people that worked at the market cafe were friendly and helpful. Restaurant service was also great, friendly - food at the breakfast was great. Room: The shower handle fell off, and the back of the door to the bathroom was chipped and the paint was peeling. The artwork was kind of creepy and weird. It was nice to see a good size mini fridge. The water filter down the hall was clunky but nice. The provided "free but not really" water in the room smells like used car salesman and should just be free, or abolished. Check In: Computer issues during check-in, receptionist also added multiple days of to my room account (which I found out later) which I had declined. Check Out: Issues during checkout. Clerk didn't want to remove the 2 days of parking that I declined and didn't use. she also had trouble getting in touch with the manager, and was explaining to me that I had to wait for a phone call from the parking company in order to get the parking charges removed. It took 20-30 minutes of discussion to get these charges removed from the bill. TLDR : It was *very hard* to get an honest bill from the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place. It took lots of time and discussion during checkout, the process was not easy, unfortunately, the manager never showed to help the receptionist nor came to the counter to assist with the checkout to help with a clean bill. For me, this is pretty much a deal breaker for future use. The whole process felt scammy. The dated bathroom fixtures, were a little out of place at such a high end hotel, so was the "3.50 bottle of water tag" in your room. I loved the cafe and the staff at the breakfast place.

This is a huge hotel. I was here for our group's convention with 1200 people. We had to go thru the bill because many details were incorrect; so i would say our event coordinator was not great My corner hotel room on the 16th floor was great; it faced Lake Michigan. The staff is great. The sauna, the pool and gym was great and was very available and very clean. The McCormick Convention Hall was quite far. Better bring a scooter to get around between the hotel and the convention hall. Also the event planner could have planned it better.

Had a wonderful Stay !!! The executive suite has the best view !!! Kiki ,Latrice , and Tyrese where very kind and helpful!! Thank you for everything

My husband and I spent the weekend here and the staff was phenomenal. Eric at the bar was friendly and very attentive. I would like to give Kiki, the front office supervisor, a special shout out she went above and beyond. Her personality made us feel so welcome and so well taken care of!

I came here for a conference event and this location was great. Pretty easy to navigate, clean, and has some nice dining options within the hotel.

I was very pleased with the room and the view. The location was perfect with in 20 min. from soldier field. My only issue was at time of check in the guy that checked us in was in such a rush to get me out of there even though no one was behind me. He gave me no directions to the room it took me 10 with all my luggage to try and figure it out. He never mentioned any of the hotel amenities or anything. it's more of can i see an ID and here are your keys. I Gave it a 4 start because i feel like customer service should be part of the experience.

Here for boys volleyball tournament for the first time. It's clean, staff are super nice, convenient skywalk to McCormick convention center since it was a freezing 20 plus degrees outside. My minus one star is after we checked in, we put our stuff in and left for the day, we came back my hubby walked into the bathroom, his socks/pants got wet from what we thought the toilet leaked. There was water on the floor around the toilet smh. We called the front desk and they sent someone up right away. They told us it might've been from housekeepings leftover cleaning idk. So that was taken care of & I couldn't sleep the first night because of the noise in the walls, I later figured out, it's the elevators! Smh my room is literally on the other side. So note to self or anyone to make sure your room is not next door to the elevators, other than that, I'd recommend Hyatt.

I recently stayed at the Hyatt McCormick for a tradeshow. The location for tradeshows is fantastic because the hotel and convention center are connected. It's easy to walk back and forth from your room to the event being held there. The facilities themselves seemed in decent shape for the amount of people that stay there for all variety of events. I had a king room in the corner on the 20th floor. The room was clean and spacious, no issues to report. On the main level there is a market that is like a convenience store. With coffee and alcohol it was a one stop shop for most people. In addition there was a bar and restaurant area. It was nice to have but this area was very busy at lunch and right after the tradeshow. You had to time it just right to be able to get a table. It was kind of frustrating but understandable. We usually went off site anyway so not a big deal. The front desk desk staff was awesome. Very helpful with questions and working out issues. I interacted with them a few times and have nothing but good things to say. In addition to staying at the hotel our company hosted an event in one of there conference rooms. The event went off without a hitch and again I'd say that's due to the staff. My only issue was the buildings can be a little confusing. Our event was held across the sky walk from the actual hotel and attendees had trouble finding it. I also got turned around finding the parking structure once. In addition to offering other guests directions. It's typical hotel stuff I suppose. For the event I was there for, I thought this was a great hotel. I'd stay there again for a tradeshow. If I was in town for something else I'd stay closer to downtown.

We checked in a little bit after 5pm we were tired from the Auto Show. I didn't get any pictures of the room sadly. But the beds are hard and the bathroom set up is weird. I will be returning due to the area having alot to do! Also the lady that check me in didn't validate parking or even tell me it's gonna be included on my hotel bill. So I was charged twice basically it took a week for it to be refunded. If you're gonna have agents that check ppl in with no customer energy, get kiosk.

I stayed here recently for a work trip and had a very enjoyable experience. Our check-in and check-out were pleasant and swift. Rooms were very clean. We didn't stay in the immediate area very much (I was mostly at our office in the city center), but it was a cool area. Recommended.

Great location, well-appointed rooms, nice views, helpful staff! It isn't cheap to stay here, but I think that the value is there! The location is amazing if you're interested in the riverfront, Soldier Field, museums, or obviously if you have a convention at McCormick Place. It was very nice to be able to walk off the show floor and straight to my room rather than requiring a shuttle ride. The room was fairly standard fare at this price point and the view was lovely. Tip: remember which tower you're in, north or south. I'm totally not saying that because I forgot and went up the wrong elevator the first time. Plenty of helpful staff and I rarely waited in line for help. I would stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel for a conference in April. The decision to stay here was purely based on convenience since I wanted to be walking distance from the conference. I would say that's their biggest advantage along with the gym. The hotel connects to the convention center directly from the second floor and you don't even need to go outside which is great during the cold and winter in Chicago. Other than that I think this place is overpriced and the rooms are outdated. The common areas look much nicer than the actual rooms. The gym was great, plenty of equipment and a few peloton bikes. They also had a Tempo but not sure if it was working. There's a few restaurants walking distance and it's pretty close to Chinatown but unless you're coming for a convention I don't recommend staying in this area.

My sister and I chose this hotel for C2E2. Teeter-tottering between the rating of 4 and 5 stars but I I ended up with 5 (4.5-something rating rounded up). Basic and borderline dated decor? Sure. Front desk lady also could've been a tad bit friendlier. What I liked about this hotel though is how spacious the room we got was (1 queen bed and 1 double bed but honestly the beds both looked like queens). Plentiful amount of towels. Decent comfiness of the beds. Room-soundproof-wise, pretty alright (heard voices in the room next door only when someone with a deep voice was talking.....not too bad as I experienced much worse). Though, I'll add that since this hotel is connected to McCormick Place, which is where C2E2 is held, there were people shouting up a storm in the hallway at 10 pm thinking that this is their own dormitory, so be weary if you do book a room here during the event. Definitely not a 5-star hotel in terms of high-classiness, but I had one of the much better hotel stays here in comparison to those that I've had at a similar price point.

I booked online for a Friday night stay with Saturday check out. I got two beds and a city view (city view is a little more expensive) The customer service at the front was friendly and made sure they explained to me how to use the key fob for the garage parking & where to go. My biggest concern was parking due to the McCormick area being so close to downtown, the parking was just about $40 For a 24 hours stay but you could come and go as you please as the pass is also the key to your room, they also charge it to the room cost at check in if you don't want to pay at kiosk. Wish they had a better deal for parking for guest as the stay is expensive as well. The location is really great especially if you want to have food delivered. The rooms were very clean and spacious. They had a pretty good variety of television and free movies which I liked because I don't like to pay for miscellaneous things when I stay. I also thought the rooms with the city view could be very romantic if you are going to stay with a significant other. I have the biggest pet peeve with their "no trash bags" in the rooms ideal..I don't feel like it is sanitary and leaving trash in hallways out the door is not very aesthetically pleasing...but this seems to be what everyone's doing during Covid. The room service wasn't an option either due to covid. But the entire stay was very elegant I was very well pleased with the quality of the room and I would definitely reserve through the Hyatt McCormick again. The only thing that I did not really care for was that the vending machines didn't have a variety of beverages and a lot of them were not in stock when I tried to leave my room for something to drink they could do better about keeping the vending machines stocked but other than that it was a beautiful stay. Id definitely book again without hesitation!

This review is for their lobby bar- they have the absolute slowest service I have ever experienced at a bar. I stood there for literally 15-20 minutes watching them work at a snails pace and never even acknowledge me. I've never seen anything like it. Maybe its a cultural thing

Worst place to visit and work and the People are rude and the rooms are disgusting and the security staff sucks at there job and they are rude and unprofessional and i will not recommend this hotel to anyone

Really nice and clean Comfy bed and pretty quiet overall. Although I did hear hallway noise last PM. Nice to have Starbucks in lobby, but it's $4 cup. Took off a star, as they put a hold of $75/night for incidentals and no free water in room . There are 2 bottles @$5 each

My stay here was pleasant. Customer service was fairly attentive and always very polite. It was a little tricky to navigate the main lobby area is the layout is like a maze. The parking garage is very easy to use and I believe parking was covered with the room. I felt that my car was very safe and secure. There are plenty of areas in the lobby in mezzanine or second floor Lobby we're hanging out, chatting with other people or just finding a quiet space. My room is always very clean and quiet. The View was phenomenal. The bed was comfortable, although the pillows just never worked well for me there. There are plenty of electricity ports for all of your needs. Wi-Fi I was just fine. The bathroom was perfect, and I really like the flat shower entry, however a little water always creeped into the general bathroom area. The bathroom mat towel is a must use item.

For being one of two anchor hotels at The McCormick Convention Center in Chicago, I am blown away there are no formal restaurants within the hotel. There's a Chinese buffet that doubles as a breakfast bar and an open bar area called ARC, which is a bar with open lobby seating. That's it folks! Where are ppl to sit and discuss business proposals, reacquaint with colleagues, or just relax with coworkers? Not at The Hyatt Regency.

Hotel was great, customer service was awesome. The check in process was fast and easy and the front lobby was so welcoming, the people at the market were great as well as the arc bar. Room was clean and nice definitely good price. Only reason for 4 stars was because upon checking in, we were asked if we wanted housekeeping to which we said yes. We stayed Saturday to Monday. I'm not sure if it's because they assumed we wouldn't be long or what but we left for the day Sunday and came back around 530pm and the room wasn't cleaned. We had called prior to us leaving at 10am to make sure we were scheduled because we wanted to come back to a clean room, with fresh towels and emptied trash. We also wanted to make sure we didn't come back to take a nap and rest to be told to leave again. We were advised our room would be serviced for sure, we got back 530 and it wasn't done. Our room wasn't messy we throw stuff away and keep it pretty tidy we just wanted bed made trash out and clean towels nothing to extreme. We called and the front desk asked if our room wasn't done yet, we confirmed no. They sent housekeeping and we went downstairs for about 45 minutes to let them handle. All was well except when we came back, I don't know if lifting the trash can from inside its container lining brought up some old trash or hair but when we came back in, we saw a big ball of hair not the color of mine or my husbands was sitting on the bathroom floor next to the trash can that was not there 45 minutes before when we walked out and waited downstairs. A bit disgusting as it was huge and hard to miss but nothing to give them a complaint about. Their Arc Bar being closed sundays was a bummer as well as their restaurant, even tho it's due to business and profit (understandable) it's unfortunate considering that weekend was a convention in the building. Other than all of that, the stay was good

So I checked in Friday upgraded my room for a better view which was okay. My concern was the bed sheets so dirty!!!! There was hair also in the shower as if there was a woman renting the room prior to me cause the hair was very long. I'll NEVER RETURN BAD FOR BUSINESS

This place is huge! One of the biggest hotels I have been in. Everything is new and very nice. Watch out for the lines for coffee at the Starbux in the morning it can get really long. Like over a half hour. The staff is very nice and will help with anything you need. Check them out on your next business trip.

The hotel is only clean on the main floor. The floors with guest rooms are visibly dirty specifically the carpet exiting the elevator, hallways and mold in the refrigerator. We called front desk because housekeeping did not answer. A refrigerator was brought to the room and they wiped put the existing one but not thoroughly. Our stay is for 3 days and the room so far has not been cleaned. I called housekeeping and was told new towels they will bring to the room on request took 2 hours had to go down the hall and ask a housekeeper for replacements and she sihed not wanting to give me any. I called this morning and asked of I could have more towels, toilet paper and trashcans emptied. I was given a laundry bag, a bag that is used for ice and a large trash bag like the size for kitchen. I would not recommend this hotel for the price I expected better.

This hotel DOES IT. PROS for me (everything I used is listed here): 1) GYM! nice nice and not too crowded. Tons of equipment, weights, treadmill, just everything you need and always available. 2) MARKET. Where everything is overpriced but you pay for the convenience. The Lattes, Chai lattes, smoked salmon bagel and frittata were pretty good. You can also place the order from your room and pick it up at the side register (next to the refrigerators) since the lines can get very long (from the McCormick place? and the convention attendees) 3) Several restaurants (I tried the Eights and Sixes) which is pretty fast (build your own Asian bowl) but not the best. 4) Free shuttle to Horseshoe Casino (check hours because they are kind of rare and inconvenient) 5) a TON of convenience items at your disposal FREE! (see my picture). Anything you need or forgot or want to have more of, they will bring it to your room in 10 minutes. There is a limit of certain items, ask first or they might charge you. 6) Quiet AC (huge for light sleepers) 7) Has an empty fridge for your leftovers 8) Standard working safe CONS 1) The floor in the room had a funky smell (in one spot) but the rest of the room was good 2) Room does not have 100% black out curtains. They are more like 95% which is a con for light sleepers. 3) Too few shuttles to the casino (didn't use but the hours did not work for me)

DONE! I've stayed here at least 3-4X and it just gets worse EVERY TIME .... The room is so ok but was not clean last time I was there, damaged furniture the desk area wasn't clean the bathroom wasn't clean, toilet seat and knobs on the sink were dirty. For their prices I wouldn't recommend at all

Just an average hotel. Nothing to special rooms are very dark. Overall okay nice for conferences because everything is connected so you don't have to walk outside in the cold.

The staff were nice and helpful. My room was mostly nice. Just a couple of small things in the spirit of making things better for us business travelers who pay dearly for hotel rooms and time away from home, and for hotels who could surely improve while profiting off our business: This is a BIG hotel and there was, near as I could tell, only 1 option for food and it was open only very limited hours. I had to walk to another big hotel nearby to get any food. On the rare occasion that there was a food option open, there were no other customers, but the 2 people working stood there at the register discussing an error in ringing up pretzels instead of helping me. I didn't want a pretzel. I just wanted some coffee. I do not need chit chat and forced intimacy. But like all business travelers and middle aged women, it would nice to not be treated like I was invisible or that my wanting a coffee before heading to the airport was getting in the way of the true work of figuring out why the pretzels were ringing up wrong. Surely I am not the only person who is starting to feel like hotels are using, at this point, reduced housekeeping as a means of generating more profit. I don't need fresh sheets everyday, but is having to fetch my own towels and take out the trash the new normal? I am all for keeping people safe, but this is just being used as an excuse at this point. The temperature control in my room was spotty. Hard to control and loud. Maybe they could use some of the money they aren't spending on housekeeping to upgrade! Finally, what is the point of this chaise lounges? I didn't even want to put my suitcase on it, and can't imagine anyone actually sitting in it. The photos don't do it justice. The rest of the room was pretty clean, but this particular piece of furniture just made the whole room seem dirty. If you don't want to replace it don't. Just don't keep it!

Had a wonderful visit with family that was staying at the Hyatt Regency McCormick for the 2020 Chicago Auto Show. This is always the hotel of choice for proximity and convenience. It's also a an awesome hotel with great views of downtown and great service.

If you're in Chicago to attend a meeting/conference at McCormick Place, this hotel is the closest one to the convention center. In fact, you won't even have to go outside to reach the convention center, as the hotel is directly connected to it. Our king size bedroom was spacious; large enough for a family of 3 traveling with a young kids and therefore needing a crib. The decor of the room was somewhat dated, but our room was very quiet, and I also liked that it had a small fridge. I didn't use the gym, but I went to the pool a couple of times. Even though it says that the pool is open for lap swimming from 5am to 10pm, the pool is rather short to do lap, but it is just perfect if you're here with family and kids. The locker room only has 10 lockers and 1 shower, but there is also a dry sauna[1]. One thing I liked is that there is a guest laundry room, so that if you want you can wash your own clothes without having to rely on the hotel. We didn't use it, but it's a nice option that I haven't seen in many hotels. Text checkout is great, even though I had to ask multiple times for a receipt. Food options in the area are somewhat limited, which can be a problem if you're here for a large convention/meeting as lines and wait times can be really really long[2], but there is a food court by the Marriott which can be easily accessed through a bridge, if you don't want to face the cold. If you're in Chicago for tourism I would not recommend this location as it's far from the city center, but if you're stuck at McCormick place for 5 days for work, this hotel is perfectly fine. ---------------- [1] If you're planning to use the sauna, switch it on well in advance, as it has a timer and it takes a while for it to reach temperature. [2] We tried to go to nearby Fatpour a couple of times, but the wait was always 1-2h. Not much better at other nearby restaurants.

My stay with Hyatt was exactly what I requested, a lake view​ room​ for Mom and I. After check-in, we found our room on the top floor! It provided an awesome view of Downtown Chicago, Soldier Field, and Lake Michigan. It was great to wake up to an exciting view each morning. Let me add that Zac at the front desk was friendly and helpful upon check-in. I required his assistance the next day as well. I also enjoyed the fruit water at the front desk. There's nothing like an​ ice-cold​ cup of water on a hot day. Our housekeeping staff member, Yvette, was pretty awesome and friendly. I hope received my small token of appreciation that was left at the front desk. I enjoyed the Hyatt which is about a 10-minute​ walk to restaurants. Selections on site and at the nearby Marriott are few and, as expected, the prices are a bit more than you want to pay on a daily basis. McCormick Place Conference Center and the Marriott can both be accessed​ via walkways. There's no need to go outdoors and get sweaty in the summer or freeze in the winter.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt. The view was amazing and the hotel was gorgeous. Not to mention, I loved all the holiday decor. Additionally, the staff was great and very helpful. Keep up the great work! This was my first time ever in Chicago and I fell in love with it! I owe that in part to the way I was treated during my stay and I really appreciate it.

On my trip to Chicago we choose this Hyatt. It was priced lower than most of the downtown hotels and the reviews were good. During my stay I found the hotel to be very nice. I spent my mornings drinking Starbucks from their kitchen by the fire pits enjoying the hustle and bustle of the city. The pool and gym were very adequate and had a great outdoor patio in between to meditate on. Parking is costly so add it to the per night rate if you have a car. It is in walking distance to ChinaTown and the convention center is attached. The hotel was clean and the interior was up to date industrial style. The beds were comfortable and the views were great. I enjoyed my stay at this Hyatt location.

Not mind-blowing, but a solid convention sort of hotel. This hotel is exactly what you think it is, assuming you've been to any sort of convention hotel before. The rooms are decent for business use, but fairly spartan and only somewhat clean. Room service is quick, and the food is tolerable. All of the staff are nice and easy to work with. Nothing in this place will win any decor awards, but it's all very serviceable.

Well... The gym is great. This place is in a weird no mans land, so if you are here for conference it's 100% hotel food. Luckily it's pretty decent! All the restaurants have clearly marked vegan options. The Asian place (sixes & eights) has yummy rice bowls & Third Star has super tasty tofu tacos-- who knew?! The grab & go cafe also has some decent breakfast & snack options. So why, you might ask, do I only give 2 stars? Well, I am a stickler for cleanliness & this place did not cut the mustard. I had housekeeping all 3 nights of my stay & there were surfaces with visible dirt/debris that were there from the moment I checked in until I checked out. But THE GROSSEST-- there was a glass next to the sink that was clearly dirty when I arrived. OK, no biggie. I moved it off the coaster as a clear sign it needed to be replaced. They put the same cup back. So the next day I put it on the floor next to the front door AND THEY PUT IT BACK! (There were some distinct smudges & sticky drips, so it was obvious it was the same glass). So I'm pretty grossed out by that. Who knows where else they are cutting co also they have the saddest "down filled" comforters. When you hold them up you can see there is next to no filling inside, so you need at least to stay warm. It's a work trip so I have no choice but to stay here, but I don't recommend

We took a roadtrip to Chicago for a concert. Our venue (Wintrust Arena) was connected via skyway, which was nice especially because they got heavy snow & wind late April. We had a late check-in around 1030pm, which there was a nice line accumulating around that time. We were given a room on the 14th floor. We got to the room to unlock it and the door wouldn't open (latched) we heard someone in the room say "hold on" then come open the door. Super embarrassing. We went back down to check in desk to the same clerk and she disappeared for awhile to try to figure things out. Turns out there was another person staying at the hotel with the same first & last name as my sister. I feel like it could have been avoided the first go around when we checked in if she would have said "Oh, I see you already checked in" or something along those lines but she didn't. They ended up upgrading our room to the 32nd floor with a lake view. The view was beautiful. However the quality or the room wasn't great. I'm not sure if it was residue from the cleaning products or if the room hadn't been cleaned well. But it was all over the bathroom & handles. The rooms are pretty basic. We had a queen size bed & a full size, a tv, mini fridge, desk + chair, dresser with a bench attached, sink/mirror area outside the bathroom. Seemed like the hotel had a lot of amenities which we weren't there long enough to check out. Parking was $39 a day for hotel guest. $20 for 0-30 minutes for public parking. YIKES! Overall I had an okay experience here. Not sure it was worth what we paid, if we hadn't been upgraded.

I only gave a 4 star because of the air conditioning. They were accommodating enough to bring me a box fan because I was so hot. The air conditioning deserves a 2 star. The view was really nice, the electronics were definitely up to date. The hotel staff was very friendly, quick, and efficient.

The fourth star is for the gym. Two lane pool, tons of cardio, weight machines, dumbbells, and also a deck to sunbathe. McCormick Place is the convention place. Probably 90% of the people who stay here are here for some kind of convention, food show, exhibition. Check-in was easy, though the line was typically pretty long but goes fast. As the fifth biggest Hyatt around the world you'd think they'd have more than 4 people working the front desk for check-in/check-out. I really appreciated them being able to check me in early at 10AM since there was a room available, ADA accessible, perfect for my elderly parents. On the 24th floor with a sweeping view of the Chicago skyline and a bathroom with handles all around, this was going to be quite a stay. There were plenty of amenities, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bar soap, and if you forgot anything you could dial in and request shaving cream, razor, sewing kit, etc for free! There was a cooler in the room, coffee maker with Starbucks coffee, and also Tazo tea. The beds and sheets were clean but the floor needed a deep clean vacuum because you could see the crusty bits and dust bunnies. The towels needed a bit more bleach because there was a bloody stain on one of the towels. I learned that housekeepers are limited to 16 rooms a day to clean and they're generally happy to work there and eager to give you whatever you need. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel, bus number 21 (brings you over to Chinatown) and also bus number 3 (brings you right into downtown Chicago). Incredibly convenient and the buses come frequently. If public transportation isn't your style, there's always a long line of taxis waiting to be filled. Plenty of onsite eateries and a small coffee/snack bar too. There's a club down the street and convenient stores too. Quite a bit of construction, an arena or some sort I heard, so this area is going to be more hopping than it is already. If you can get a deal for a room that would be amazing, if not, pony up that $250/night for a queen and a double bedroom.

Our stay consisted of one night and our accommodations were great. Check-in was fast and easy. The desk attendants were courteous and pleasant. We booked a double bed room, which was nice, clean and airy. The bathroom was spotless. We had a nice view of Lake Michigan and some new construction in the area. The décor sort of gave me shabby boutique, with a minimal twist. Our room was expensive for one night, can't lie about it. Self-parking was steep, too. $36 a night. But for the location and convenience, we couldn't complain. The hotel even hosted a Beyhive mixer for the all the guests of the hotel. Pretty awesome, right?! During the mixer, we eat at one of the restaurants in the hotel: The Mix. We had Chicago-style pepperoni pizza and Thai Chili wings. De-lish! The bartenders were entertaining, lol. The McCormick area is in close proximity to Soldier Field, Lake Shore Dr, Museum Campus and dowtown. We made the smart decision to walk to the concert, it was only 15 min. Great way for me to get my cardio in, even out of town. This was Memorial Day weekend, so I expected it to be quite busy. To my surprise, we didn't get overwhelmed and just went with the flow. I wouldn't mind staying here again.

Everyone loves to complain and write a scathing review, but this hotel is not worth the energy nor the time. The hotel has a lovely (internal) view with horrible views of the 'City' no matter which direction you look. Ergo, don't pay to upgrade for a city-view -- it isn't even worth the post card you originally wanted to print it on. If you book online, Hyatt will offer you all kinds of discounts (Internet/Meals/etc) When checking in - the hotel staff knew nothing about these promotions and how to utilize them. Again, don't prepay as it is not worth the aggravation. For future patrons, the aforementioned issues were immediately brought to the attention of the management staff; they in turn presented a liase fair attitude of "we're sorry, but..." and simply put -- that cements my future decisions if ever have to come back to Chicago on where to stay. I'd choose a Motel6 over this establishment - Customer Service and Honesty is paramount.

Subpar hotel. More than half the rooms have a view of the parking lot. Decent sized rooms with big TVs but poor design makes most views terrible. They try to upsell you to see even sky out of your window. Plus, the area around the hotel is terrible. Nothing to do close by, no restaurants, no grocery stores. Your choice is to eat there or taxi somewhere at $10 per ride. Gym is decent with sauna in bathroom. Not hot tubs and small boring pool area. Stay at the Marriott or better yet stay somewhere else like near downtown.

The "coolers" in the hotel are not safe for food storage. I have an extended stay and a restricted diet. I called ahead of my stay to ask about refrigerators and was reassured that each room had them, so I brought my food for the week with me. Come to find out that not only are there NOT refrigerators available (the hotel is busy and I'm on a waitlist) but the woman at the front desk tried to tell me that 45* was safe for leftovers and food. It is not. Safe serve and safe storage of food needs to be 40 degrees and below. Additionally, moving things around in the bathroom to accommodate my toiletries, I had to pry the tissue paper box off the counter. It was disgusting underneath. Definitely doesn't seem like rooms are thoroughly cleaned. How long was that stuck there?

I got this hotel from Hotwire, so I'm not sure I can cancel my reservation. I'm so disappointed. The first room was grungy, burn marks near the coffee pot, fire alarm was pulled out of the wall, dirty carpet. They moved to another room, the carpet is dirty, the cord is missing from the phone and when ever someone turns the water on in the room above me it sounds as if they are in the same room. This place is no where near a 4 star hotel. Maybe 2, if I'm generous 3.

I stayed at this facility the weekend of September 17, 2022. I wanted to express how difficult it was to initially book a suite at the Hyatt McCormick. I called several days in a row to book a suite and was given the run around each one of the days. NO one would book the suite and I was told daily that there were no suites available. It wasn't until we were able to speak with "a friend of a friend" who worked there that we finally booked the suite. I should not have had to jump through that many hoops. I booked the suite plus 1 room. The suites were mediocre at best. The adjoining room to the suite smelled of mildew. We had to wipe down tabletops and spray in order to get the smell out. The common area of the suite was not cleaned properly. The counters in the kitchen area were not cleaned. And there was trash on the floor in the corners of the room. This was supposed to be a special birthday surprise and it was a bit of downer that this had to be addressed during a time that I was supposed to be celebrating. I emailed the management that next Monday to express my concerns and NO ONE ever responded. They did, however, address the cleaning crew about the conditions of the room and to speak to them about booking to me in the first place. ( I was informed). But again, NO ONE EVER reached out to me at all!!

I'm tired, hungry, been traveling all day. I checked in an hour ago, and I've already been through three rooms: The first one had smoke coming in through the vents (non smoking hotel) and a big hair on one of the pillows. Called the front desk and they moved me to a second room, which ALSO had a hair on one of the pillows and something sticky on the bedside table. They couldn't be bothered to come up to the room to give me new keys this time, so I went back down to the front desk and they moved me to a third room, which SURPRISE also has hair on the bed. I'm losing it here. I just want to change my clothes and get dinner and unpack because I'm here for work for 9 days and JUST WANT A CLEAN ROOM. If somehow this situation gets resolved tonight in some amazing way, I'll update this review, but currently I'm not confident that it will :( This sucks.

Ok hotel, it is connected to McCormick place so it's a great place to stay if you have to be at the convention center. My room was nice enough but I do not the the floor was really clean. They do have many amenities at the hotel I did not use, a fitness center, restaurants, bar etc. the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Was recently here for a convention and they keep using Covid as an excuse for everything. Oh, sorry, no fitted sheets for you - Covid! Need someone to pick up the trash since you are here for a week? Nope. Seriously, the trash was piling up from multiple rooms in the alley. We asked for the rooms to be cleaned since we were here for a week and needed new toiletries and stuff. They again used Covid as an excuse. Seriously, the staff was rude, disrespectful and wouldn't accommodate any of our perfectly reasonable requests. For example, the line for the elevator was very long and when we asked to use the stairs, they said they don't have stairs?! Wouldn't that be a fire hazard?! The TV and phone were not working, and they refused to fix them or address the issue. We had called beforehand and asked if parking is available, but when we got there we were told that all the parking is full. However, when we were walking through the parking garage, there were plenty of spots available. We also asked for help with the luggage, but they refused to let us use the luggage cart without 2 staff members present. When I called them out for their hypocrisy - why let 2 people help with luggage with Covid and all but no one can pick up the trash or clean the rooms, they stayed silent. Lastly, we had requested a late checkout and when we double checked, they refused our request. Now, I know this is within their discretion, but this is something we talked about beforehand. It was hard to make last minute changes. I wouldn't stay here again.
