The Best Hotels in the World: 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards

"Milwaukee is one of the US’s cities to watch, as we noted in last year’s Readers’ Choice Awards—from having a festival in town nearly every weekend, to hosting the last season of Top Chef, to the scattered nods to Frank Lloyd Wright and Frederick Law Olmstead throughout its different parks and residential areas, it’s safe to say Milwaukee is on the rise. And the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee is one of the best stays to experience what the city has to offer, with the Historic Third Ward, the Public Market, and the Marcus Performing Arts Center all within a two mile radius from the hotel. Bring a furry friend for a stay, work comfortably, and lounge at craft-cocktail bar Julep where the “brew” in Brew City comes to life." - CNT Editors

My husband and I came here a couple weeks ago for a comedy show. We were greeted with cookies right when we checked in, which were very tasty. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The valet was easy during drop off and pick up. And the bartender was awesome! I wish I could remember her name to give her a shout-out, but she made great drinks and was super attentive to all the guests. 10/10 experience! If we ever come back to Milwaukee, we would definitely come back!

The hotel itself is GROSS and VERY run down. Absolutely NOT a four star hotel and NOT worth the $300+/night price tag. When we got to our room, the keypad cover was laying on the ground in the hallway and all the inner electronic components were exposed. Things happen, so I just brushed it off and we went into the room - thinking I'd ask the front desk to have it fixed later. It didn't get better inside the room. The toilet paper had been soaked at some point, then dried, and was crusty. The ceiling was cracked and peeling in multiple places, the furniture was quite beat up, make-up was on the back of the door, the toilet was either stained or hadn't been cleaned in a while, and the sink had mold. After all that, I was too grossed out to stay. So we ended up cancelling our reservation and going to a different hotel. The front desk staff was incredibly nice and almost every worker we passed said hello. So no complaints about the service at all - Hyatt really needs to evaluate how they're marketing and maintaining this hotel.

We had a great stay at this hotel! Everyone from the front desk, to Paul in Sales, the bellman, the valet and Housekeeping Supervisor, were all so friendly! It was amazing that on on a one night stay, I was able to interact with so many people, but they all went out of their way to engage which was so nice. We had 3 rooms and all of them were incredibly clean with nice views of the city, especially at night. We had cocktails at the lobby bar and they were made well after a long day at the baseball game. Starbucks attached in the lobby which is great for the next morning. Great location to Milwaukee destinations - we weren't far away from either the baseball stadium or the zoo plus plenty of dining and bar options right around. Would definitely stay here again.

Google
The location is excellent. The check in desk employee was very kind and patient. There's a full Starbucks inside. There's a gift shop that also has just about anything you could need or might have forgotten, from snacks, drinks, medication, razors, deodorant, etc. High floors and great city views. The rooms are a bit dated and the bathroom is very small. You're definitely not sharing space in there while getting ready. Overall, a decent hotel but it definitely doesn't compare to the Hyatt Place about two blocks away.

Google
The whole place just felt tired. The room was standard and comfortable with a small bathroom. The breakfast menu was uninspiring, but the service was quick and tasted good. Also used the bar menu and again the service was good and food tasty. Overall, like most US hotels I've stayed in, it needs updating and a bit of TLC.

Google
Fine location & the staff were all very kind and helpful. The room itself was adequate, but the pillows were very uncomfortable, the sheets did not fit the bed properly, the shower head was not very pleasant, and the brown chair in the room was visible stained ... my fiance and I were not going to touch it. We expected better on the essentials than this, especially at this cost.

I was pretty flustered when I arrived at the hotel. The two gentlemen working the valet, Brady G and Ian K, were very professional and explained how the valet worked. After a long day of driving, I genuinely appreciated their professionalism and helpful attitude. I usually self park, but honestly using the valet really made things less stressful, and I will probably do it again :-)

Google
There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY this is a four star hotel!! Maybe at one point in time, however not in June 2025. Charging a minimum of $247 per night is completely out of line for the quality. Please see attached photos. Don't worry, though, it was "fixed". My understanding is this property is not corporate owned, but franchised, which I'm mentioning because whomever operates it needs to put A LOT of money into it for renovations. --URGENTLY & IMMEDIATELY-- [and no, I'm not writing this because an employee made me made, I'm writing this because the hotel is disgusting, at best.] This Jo

Yelp
Had the best time staying at the Hyatt regency in Milwaukee! T and Marcus at the front desk were as friendly as can be and made me feel at home! Thank you guys!!

Yelp
I've stayed at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Milwaukee a few times now, and it never disappoints! This is hands-down one of the best affordable hotels I've experienced and easily one of my favorites in the whole country! The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming, making every stay enjoyable. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The location is fantastic! It's just a 5-minute walk to the Deer District and Fiserv Forum, putting you right in the middle of great restaurants and bars. The food is excellent, and there are plenty of late-night options to choose from. It's also a short walk to the Public Market, another must-visit spot for good food, drinks and shopping. Whenever I'm in Milwaukee the Hyatt Regency is my go-to choice and I wont look anywhere else ever again! Love staying here!

Yelp
Wrote a recent review of our last Saturday stay and unfortunately it appears they didn't read it. On check out to clerk when we told her of the Disappointment of our stay only offered us 1000 points which never appeared on our account. Just another example how little they care. I would never recommend this Hyatt we have however stayed at many fantastic Hyatt hotels. The Hyatt Regency in Milwaukee isn't one of them. The Hyatt corporation should look at the management of the property and suggest ways to improve.

Yelp
2.5 stars rounding up to 3. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency with our pup for a weekend and checked in later in the afternoon after enjoying some of the nearby area first. Upon our drive up, we wanted to drop off our bags and bring our pup inside before parking the car. We asked if they had a luggage carrier cart just to make it easier in one fell swoop. We told valet we would not be valeting and we would just be dropping off the car. They gave us a dirty look, then when we brought our stuff inside I suggested to my husband let's just take our stuff off the cart so they can use it on others while we park the car. And the gentleman basically snapped at us and said "you're not allowed to take a cart without my help" as we expressed that he basically took our stuff off and pulled his cart away. It felt a bit off. (Note: parking by yourself is $30 overnight, parking with valet is $38 overnight. You can also use spot hero to save a few more bucks if you're interested!) Check in was super smooth, and we had a great experience. The staff shared all the details of the hotel and opening hours and even recommended a few places around the area. (Will be sharing our experiences of various places in their own reviews) We headed up to our room. (Tip: make sure you have your keycard accessible as you will need it to get up to your room.) once we got off the elevators it smelled like someone has been smoking a pack of cigarettes. It was a no smoking floor but it reeked, when we got into our room it was worse and lingered. Thankfully I often travel with a mini air freshener otherwise it would've just been too much. On to the room, the room itself was a double room with 2 beds. There is a mini fridge that has a water bottle in it, but fair warning there is no sign or anything but you will get charged if you consume it. The sheets appeared clean but the surfaces of everything felt dirty. From the tv console, to the nightstand, to the bathrooms, not to mention the tub and the toilet. The ceiling pieces look as though they're a bit moldy in the bathroom, and just make sure you don't have the ac blasting or you'll see the ceiling tiles moving while you're getting ready as though someone was trying to break in. (It was just the ac unit moving the tiles!) I will say the water pressure was great and I enjoy my shower despite the random hairs in the tub that were there before we got there. The staff at the bar were great, there was a wedding and I think a few conventions going on during our stay and they were busyyyyyy. But they were kind and offered service with a smile. The gift shop was also great for beverages since vending machines were not on every floor. Overall, we got what we paid for because we had a great deal for the weekend. If you can find a deal for less than $175 for the weekend elsewhere, I'd certainly recommend it.

Yelp
Nice hotel at the right in the middle of downtown Milwaukee! Everything is within the walking distance. Room was spacious, nice bed, good water pressure for a shower. They gave you the voucher for Buffett and Starbucks coffee, and beverages from the bar. Not sure if that is for everyone or the status of Hyatt club. Usually I hear some noise from the next doors but it seemed like I can only hear just tiny bit of people talking at night so I was totally fine with that. The wall must have been a bit thicker than other hotels! I would stay here again.

Yelp
Venus and Koty are amazing bartenders friendly and fun and made amazing drinks for my friends and I. 100/10 would reccomend Gave amazing service and did tbe best they could to provide what was requested.

Yelp
I booked a room a week in advance through third-party. Someone in my party got very sick, so we had to terminate the reservation. I called on 12/29 and was told that I had to use the third-party for cancellation. Called the third-party on 12/31 (which was plenty of time before the check-in period of 3 o'clock) and they told me I needed to speak to Hyatt Regency. When I finally did speak to somebody to cancel, they told me I wasn't getting my $140 (price for room) for cancellation They said I was past the cancellation time. I think that's very poor customer service and bad policy. I know darn well they re-booked that room since it was New Year's Eve absolutely ridiculous that they got to keep $140 for absolutely nothing. I will never use Hyatt Regency ever again.

Yelp
People are being too harsh with their reviews. I stayed 3 nights and it was a good stay. Yes, the property is dated but all the important things in a hotel were good. - Room clean and quiet - Comfy bed - Great location - Friendly staff - Good amenities (bar, restaurant, lounge, etc) - Reasonable prices The lobby and restaurant/bar has been updated. The rooms could use updating but was clean.
google avatar

Yelp
The room was nice enough and the public spaces. I was excited there was a tub, but then there was no way to stopper the water, so i couldnt fill it for a bath. There are four glass elevators, but they have a keycard access only on one side of the buttons. Since I was here for a conference, it created a kind of bottleneck. Hours were kinda weird for the hotel bar. Employees were really nice.

Yelp
Excellent check in service. Staff is so caring and hospitable. I am grateful for them.

Yelp
2 of 5*'s REALLY?, this is not up to a standard of a Hyatt REGENCY! Not sure why you don't use the top floor more often?you need to have events! It's a beautiful location with a unbelievable view that circles the city. OK we finally made it to our destinations, the Hyatt Regency in downtown Milwaukee, from the first step out of that car, we were greeted with professional employees with kindness! And then from there our trip just got better. Look into the history of October October 14, 1912 when Teddy Roosevelt was to give his speech, it was fascinating. he was shot and attempted assassination. Fortunately, Roosevelt, heavy overcoat, his metal eyeglass case and 50 page speech in his pocket, he planed to deliver slowed the bullet down before it entered his chest, later on when he finished his speech, he went to the hospital and that's where they found a 38 caliber bullet in his chest, six years later, Roosevelt died in the sleep with John Schrank's bullet still lives in his chest. Now for the hotel : it is in desperate need of a facelift, old, plain, boring. Needs to be updated and renovated too much a new space, lobby is extremely loud. We stayed on the 17th floor and get here people, yelling, and screaming from the lobby last night. The 18th floor lounge, Mark was fun, concierge for Platinum members was very weak, generic food, and plastic glasses for the wine come on really! YOU CAN DO BETTER! Our room: more water came out of the faucet than it did the showerhead. Our beds had wooden frame, extremely loud, when you moved, two queen size beds, one was at least a foot shorter than the other.. how does this happen? The employees: FRANK The manager was absolutely our favorite, and next in line was Kody. We had the most interaction with these two people and we absolutely adore them. Here is the list of peeps we had fun with: Aloha Frank Isack Aaron Mark upstars JR Taliyah Kody the bartender in JULEP Aaron who helped Kody, and David I do have to say they had the best chicken wings. Because of these people and the location : I WOULD RECOMMEND

Yelp
I was booked here through my friend for a weekend, and had mixed experiences here. The hotel was booked up as it was housing both AMKE convention goers as well as a music therapy convention too, but the place never felt crowded (unless it was at the Starbucks). Rooms are standard, nothing luxurious about them. We shared two rooms as our friend were in the room next to use, and noticed the door handle between rooms was broken. My roommate also noticed condensation on the toilet on our last night and spotted what appeared to be mold under the toilet as well. So not much to say on cleanliness and maintenance on the rooms. Thankfully it was by the Baird Center, which was a huge plus for us.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING HOTEL! The room was falling apart, cords were hanging out of the walls, everything was chipped and worn down, the windows had dust and spider webs all over them, there was fuzz in the ceiling corners in the shower, I found two old room keys on the shelf in the closet, there were two PUBIC HAIRS stuck to the bathroom door, and on my second night I stretched out more than usual in my bed and found PRETZELS IN MY BED by my feet. I almost threw up. I could hear the next door neighbor's alarm clock going off while they apparently slept through it. All but one of the ice machines was out of ice constantly. Room charge never worked at the store in the hotel the entire week I was there. And the girls working the store always had their phone blaring with whatever reality TV show they were watching on it - we were almost a chore to have to ring our items up if it took them away from their shows. I have always been a Hilton guy but decided to give this Hyatt a chance. I pray I never have to go back there again.

Yelp
We are Globalists. If you are looking for the wonderful Hyatt Regency experience this hotel is definitely NOT it. The Regency Club existed but did not have a 5 O'Clock Happy Hour. It also did have a breakfast but it was pitiful. It was more fit for a motel 6 than a Hyatt Regency. The parking was an antiquated garage with a very narrow entrance. Anyway I could go on and on. Don't waste your points on this Hyatt. We won't be back.

Yelp
I booked using a 3rd party site and ended up getting a great deal on this room. If I had paid any more I'd give it 3 stars, but for the price I paid it's just fine. It is absolutely not a 4 star hotel though, or at least not what you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. I have not been impressed with the front desk staff here. They haven't been outright rude but they haven't been particularly friendly. The friendliest staff was the valet guy who told me about the self park garage around the corner for $20 a night and a connecting skyway. This is a dated hotel. Don't come here for the amenities, come for the location especially if you snag a good deal. If you're looking for luxury comfort, look elsewhere. The bed is comfortable and the room is generally clean though the trash can was full when I arrived with previous guests' garbage. The lobby bar was great for a quick drink before heading out. The bartender was really nice.
google avatar

Gail D.

Yelp
This was a very nice hotel. It does not deserve the ratings I saw on here which had me a little nervous. The staff was very friendly. The hotel is clean. Nice lobby bar comfortable, good location. Pretty much anything you could ask for in a hotel.
google avatar

Yelp
I didn't stay overnight here but attended an awards dinner. Catering was great and the food was delicious. Very professional group

Mike B.

Yelp
It is 2am and the hotel lobby just quieted down. The hotel staff were not helpful and in fact dismissive about the extreme noise that echoed from the lobby all the way up to my room on the 17th floor. The center of the hotel is open all of the way up to the top floors. They cited a bar noise and curfew ordinance that they claimed included the lobby as an extension of the bar which allowed for such noise until 2am and refused to do anything while there were guests all through the lobby and on nearly every floor yelling to other guests on other floors. DO NOT STAY HERE ON A WEEKEND IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON SLEEPING before 2am.
google avatar

Chrissy S.

Yelp
over priced for what you get. I also left with a three inch scratch in my car, and because I didn't see it before I left, it's not their issue. I paid almost $40 to valet my car. ensure you look over you car once the valet brings it to you. the only upside of this hotel is the friendly and helpful staff

Yelp
Just had our second stay at the Hyatt Regency. The experience was consistent both times. We will be returning again next year for IrishFest, also possibly for a hockey game. We found the rooms to be super clean and fit our needs. It is an older hotel, so the rooms fit two queen beds, an armchair and a small desk with a chair. They aren't spacious, but our family of four has plenty of space for luggage, getting ready and sleeping. The staff does a great job keeping the rooms clean, but it's not hard to see it needs updating in a few areas. The bathroom is big enough for one person to get ready, if you need more space be prepared to use the desk. We are Hyatt members and have a bit of status and find the hotel to be a great value when considering location, price and accommodation. This year they were able to check us in early which was a huge help. If our room wasn't ready they were prepared to hold our bags. All around a solid hotel, nothing fancy, but they get the job done.

Reality C.

Yelp
Not only is this hotel not clean, front desk is rude, and to top it off after my family left we found out that a man was beaten in the lobby! He unfortunately passed away, what type of business is this?! Does not exude luxury hospitality in anyway, shape, or form. you will be wasting your money staying here.
google avatar

Yelp
Stayed at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee had my car valeted there back in February 2022 for AMKE. Within 2 nights in my car was stolen on my birthday because the valet worker allowed a car thief to go through the key box without verifying ownership of the vehicle. You would think these people would take the extra steps to verify ownership before releasing your vehicle. They didn't take the time at all and I suffered the consequences by having my car stolen and totaled. The owner, Mike is unprofessional, sleezy, and untrustworthy. Pretty much would do anything to protect his face and business. Cannot get his side of the story straight. Lied and made excuses. Only cares about so-called "efficiency" rather than safety for the customers when providing constructive criticism. He will not invest back to properly train their employees on basic valet safety measures and professionalism. They had so many opportunities to help make it right and the have failed to do so. I will attach photos of my car before and after the incident. Ironically, you can see the valet number still attached to my car when they found it. Hyatt uses a 3rd party for their valet company. This valet has multiple red flags with other customers having similar issues and they should not be partnered with them. Word of Advice: Do not trust your car with 3rd Coast Parking. Save yourself the headache.

Yelp
WHAT A DUMP! -No daily Housekeeping 1× every 4th night - No room service - No staff, or food in Regency club just cans of pop, water, bags of pretzels, and candy bars. - No shuttle service - No restaurants open except a (subpar) breakfast buffet, and bar 5-8 pm Management is so inept they can't maintain & operate this property. My room was dirty, smelled like mold, and had stains on carpet, walls, ceiling, moldy shower curtain. There was garbage sitting in halls from check in through check out. Also 12/26 the lobby and attriam was filled w/ smoke. I reached out to the manager, however they never returned my calls. In addition I contacted the GM and again No response! This property is not worthy of being a 4 star Hyatt Regency.

Gary W.

Yelp
I am a guest at the Hyatt Regency in Milwaukee on W. Kilgore St. A terrible mix-up occurred with my Reservations, and Benjamin & Emily behind the Desk came to my rescue above & beyond the call of duty. Because of this error, Benjamin put me into a beautiful Suite and included a pass to the Regency Club, which provides Breakfast & Drinks. This is what Customer Service should look like, but unfortunately all too rare nowadays. The Hyatt Regency has earned by trust & loyalty for many years to come.
google avatar

Josiah M.

Yelp
It was basically a place to sleep in a no-frills room. There is breakfast each day but the guy directing people to the buffet looked like a janitor, in fact he held a rag and spray bottle of Fantastik in his hand the whole time he interacted with us. He was rude and unprofessional and they should fire this skinny little bum who doesn't know how to approach guests, meaning "Good morning! Will you be joining us for breakfast?" instead of being a grouch with a rag in his hand. What's next, a cigarette butt hanging out of his mouth? The staff at the adjacent Starbucks, though not connected to the hotel, is equally grim and not happy to see anybody. No wonder the tip jar had a quarter and a bunch of pennies. Won't stay here again, it's a dump.
google avatar

Yelp
This is probably the worse hotel that I have stayed at in over twenty years of travel. It is grossly outdated and not well kept. There is major construction happening next door that is not divulged prior to booking. The room was not clean, stains all over the walls and furniture even the mattress (I have pictures if I am able to connect with a live person). The housemen entered my room after knocking but, giving me a chance to respond to see if he'd placed a cup. I happened to be a varied state of undress. The did not immediately leave after seeing my displeasure but, continued to try and figure out which room he did not place a cup. Lastly; the valet is not staffed to keep up with the size of hotel. Valet extreme wait time and no one present to park car upon arrival. This is very disappointing for Hyatt brand, regency at that in a middle market city.
google avatar

Ellie D.

Yelp
My first major point of this review is to make sure that no one parks in the parking garage next to the Hyatt. I don't know why the front desk doesn't warn you of this right off the bat. But I had my car window broken and someone steal things from my car overnight. I called the hotel and they won't take responsibility and just say "yes unfortunately this is a common thing in that garage." WHY WOULDN'T YOU TELL US THAT WHEN WE CHECK IN?? Awful people there. The beds and pillows are extremely uncomfortable, I was hardly able to sleep at all. I was on the 16 floor and could hear people blasting music outside very clearly. The rooms are dirty and dated. The back side of the bathroom door have chips in the paint and wood. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else. It's not worth getting your car broken into and no sleep.

Michael N.

Yelp
Stayed here 2 nights, at a group type rate for a wedding I was attending. I business traveled for over 40 years, in hotels about 80 nights a year, so I have the creds so to speak. Rate was $169 a night on a weekend, with no conventions in town, so this is not a budget hotel. (An extra $38 a day to valet park your car, with in/out) Looks and "acts" like one though. Rooms are dated, dim, and tired looking. Furniture, walls and trim are worn. Bed was ok, everything worked ok, it just seems like an old property in need of a complete makeover. Fairly clean, however. As is the norm now, housekeeping on demand or on checkout only, not an issue for me this trip. Only food options are a breakfast buffet, a very limited menu at the bar, or 50 cent bags of chips for $2.75 in the gift shop. Front desk staff was a mixed bag, ranging from friendly to snitty and hostile. Valet guys are all great, if a bit overwhelmed at times. Some of the other guests here were downright frightening, which kind of surprised me at a Hyatt in a downtown location. This is not a Motel 6, so I don't know how the street types are affording it. Most disturbing of all was the critters wandering around the valet parking and entrance areas out front, and around the corners. I waited for my car several times over the couple days I was here. Every single time I sat on the benches out front, every time, I was approached by some druggie/homeless/hustler type asking me for money. One guy even began his pitch by saying "I want to talk to you. Now, I'm not going to rob you....." Really??!!?? No kidding, why would I let you do that? Told him and all the others to beat it. That's me, I'm a big guy, but I hate to think about an elderly person or lady being accosted out there. WHERE'S SECURITY?????? One grubby looking, limping, tattoo laden security guard I saw at night doesn't exactly strike fear in the hearts of the criminals. Hell, he looks like one of them. Bottom lines: Overpriced for what you get, not worth the money, old, tired, lacks food options. Dangerous at the entrance/valet area and around the corners from that. Buyer beware.

Yelp
I have stayed at many Hyatts throughout the years. This was the dirtiest room I have been in at any of them. Bathroom- There was hair in the bathroom, stains and dirty spots (indicating the floor was not cleaned properly) on the floor, the filter in the bathroom was overflowing with dust, the shelves in the bathroom were dusty, the hair dryer was dirty, the toilet was not seated properly and was wobbly when sat on, the light in the bathroom had some sort of sticky substance on it. Room- The headboard of on the bed had sticky substances, body oils and hand prints all over it, indicating it was not cleaned. It actually looked like it could have not been cleaned in years. The air vent had dust all around it. The wallpaper was pealing. There were stains on the walls. The floors looked dingy. The windows were dirty. Even the side table surfaces were dirty. Lastly, the room smells of must and mold. I'm normally not one to complain but this was actually a horrible experience as it was the first time my 8 month old baby stayed at a hotel. I did not feel as if it was a clean and sanitary environment for him. I'm truely disappointed with this specific location. The Hyatt brand has always treated me right but this time was not the same. I enjoyed the staff and the breakfast but the most important part of the stay is the room and to be honest, it was disgusting. I'm fairly positive I will never return to this location.

Yelp
I want to thank the front desk team, with a special shout-out to Liyah, for being so amazingly welcoming this week when I arrived for a conference. It was clear to me when I checked-in that the team had been through some stress by the time our conference began (there were a number of groups staying at the hotel) and despite this, the front desk team took the time to offer me a personal welcome that started my stay off on a great note. Liyah is a gift to the Hyatt staff and to all of us who get to interact with her. Many thanks to her and the entire team for their kindness and genuine hospitality.

Yelp
Why are there boogers and blood all over everything?! The ice bucket, tongs, full-length mirror, wall behind the bed....ugh! Bathroom floor, sink top, shower, and toilet are dirty. Sink is clogged and fills with water every time I use it. AC doesn't seem to work...? Glad I brought earplugs: between the thin walls/doors (neighbor flushing their toilet woke me up, lol), loud guests, and people walking by with walkie talkies: I sure needed them. I've seen worse but.....dang. See photos for the bed situation...... The front desk says the don't have fitted sheets (just flat sheets that don't cover the whole mattress for some reason) and they don't do housekeeping during people's stay because of Covid, but it looks like they aren't really cleaning between guests either. Gross.

Yelp
Eh, it was okay? Aging but clean. Some staff at the desk were great, some staff were not. The doorman I talked with was amazing - kind and helpful. The room smelled bad and I hate that you can't even open the windows a crack to air the room out even a little. The hotel was where a conference I was attending was being hosted, so the location was great and the staff supporting the conference I came into contact with were generally great. The hotel rooms themselves could use some love.

Yelp
This hotel was complexity average. I booked through a 3rd party website, which made it way more affordable than going directly through Hyatt. For the discounted price, I'd say everything was fair, that being said, I would not pay the full Hyatt price for the quality of this hotel. Pros - able to check in the room early which was great - VERY friendly front desk staff. Check in and check out were both so kind - walkable location in the city, didn't move the car once - room had everything we needed for a short stay (fridge, coffee, bed, shower, tv, etc) Cons -no attached parking. $28 a night was a little steeper than I would have liked -hotel was very average for the price -no included breakfast Overall would stay here again if I found another comparable deal!

Yelp
This dated property features comfortable rooms in close proximity to some downtown hotspots. However, the lack of housekeeping services makes a stay less than ideal. The "light touch policy" is more like Motel 6's "clean towel policy" because that's all you get during a stay, despite a written policy to the contrary. The very old room carpet badly needed vacuuming as it was nasty. Any futures visits to Milwaukee (which I really like) will not include this property.

Yelp
I stayed here for a work trip and Hyatt is a "partner brand" with my company. It somehow doesn't surprise me that this Hyatt is in decline--after all the same family that owns the Hyatt brand gave us the dismal governor of IL, JB Pritzker. This hotel is grim and lacks any kind of character or personality. I'm sure at some point it was a grand hotel, with bookings and conferences galore. Now it's just an empty husk. 1. The front desk staff promised me that I'd have my parking validated but I still had to pay $28 to get my car out of it. 2. No room service and while there's a ton to do downtown the area isn't safe for a woman on her own to go looking for food. 3. Sketchy people asking me to use my card for them to go up to rooms--no. 4. The room smells like stale smoke. 5. There's a microwave set up in the hallway by the elevators. No explanation. Just a weird hallway microwave set up right there. It just isn't great. Spend a couple more bucks and go somewhere else.

Yelp
Absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. As a long time Hyatt member I will NEVER stay at a Hyatt property again. I used my points and booked a room last night. After a 9 hour drive we arrived in town to realize that the RNC was going on next to the hotel. Long story short, we drove in circles for over 3 HOURS! With no access to the hotel as secret service had it blocked off. There was little no way to get to the room. I called the hotel multiple times looking for other routes or alternatives with no luck. I then after 3 hours and now past 11pm, asking for my points returned as we can't get in and I'll have to find another hotel. The guy answering the phones could care less about our situation. He said we normally could but since you checked in online through the email we sent you we can't help, sorry. We never got in and ended up having to drive 2 hours away to stay at a Hilton. TERRIBLE SERVICE. I'm done forever with Hyatt

Yelp
We came to Milwaukee to adopt a dog, and needed somewhere to bed down for a night. Never imagined staying in a hotel during a pandemic, but here we were. Just as added precaution, we brought Lysol and hand soap from home. Best believe the first thing I did was spray that b*tch down upon entering. I'm really glad I thought to bring hand soap because there was no proper antibacterial soap in the bathroom. Just bar soap for your face. During a mf pandemic and you don't have goddamn Softsoap or anything?? Major negative points. The other thing that pissed me off is our mini-fridge was not functional. I checked to make sure it was plugged in and everything. Called the front desk, mostly just to report it so that we weren't blamed. They offered to send maintenance up to take a look, but it wasn't worth the hassle. Still annoying since I hoped to have cold beverages. Some positives: the beds were adequately comfortable. The view, although not the best they have to offer, was kinda dope. Decent amount of outlets for charging electronics. Service desk was nice & check-out was easy. And although it was a hike, I enjoyed that the parking garage building connects to the hotel so you can tunnel your way in without having to go outside and around. I'm not saying I'd never stay at this Hyatt again, but the experience could've been better.

Yelp
Not the best experience, though Cynthia Facko made things somewhat better. We arrived at check-in and they didn't have the room clean, which sucks, but we get it. Still, we were given half off the rate and some drink vouchers (even though we don't drink...but fine, I appreciate the gesture). I then changed to go to a wedding in the hotel bathroom. Cool. They also gave us too vouchers where appetizer was crossed out and they wrong beverages. Neither of us drink... We were told we'd be called about the room once it was clean and ready--which we weren't. Later I had to call the hotel through Hyatt (while being put on hold) at the wedding just to get confirmation that we had a room at all. Thankfully, we did. It gets worse. The valet lost our car key. We had a spare (small miracle)...but what on earth would we do if we didn't? Would we have to stay in Milwaukee and drink pabst, while Hyatt somehow cut us a new key? How long would that have taken? The room was comped. I'd expect no less from this kind of experience, but I can say it makes using Hyatt a wary experience. Especially this one. Honestly, I had a great stay at The Ambassador a few years back. A far better experience.

Yelp
Very disappointing stay. We paid almost $200.00 for a room which was was musty smelling, dank and outdated. Shower was very small with poor water pressure and no place to put your foot up onto for shaving legs. Condensation on windowsill possibly caused entire room to be moldy smelling. Mattress was comfortable. No microwave. All in all a negative experience and we'll never return.

Yelp
They call this a four-star hotel? Yeah maybe back when Paul Molitor was playing! Doesn't look like they updated much either. It was nice of them to give us a free upgrade but if this was one of their best rooms I can't imagine what the others must be like. The room had an overall run-down dingy feel to it. With a noticeable mold smell. Leak stains on the ceiling. Old ratty furniture. My brother in law noticed a weird stain on the fold-up couch. The toilet took some effort to flush. Even the towel hook on the door was loose. My leg kept on brushing up against the toilet because of the absurdly tiny bathroom. Yuck! Again, this was supposed to be one of their best rooms, it even had a wet bar! But nothing like you'd expect at a bar like a bottle opener or glasses. We had to make a trip to Walgreens! We asked the front desk for some whiskey glasses and later for some towels, but apparently bringing either of these up was too much trouble for them. That leads me to the only good experience of the stay, Mariah in housekeeping. She was very professional and when I asked her for some towels she made sure we has them at once. Maybe if everyone there was like Mariah we'd be adding more stars to this review. Unfortunately it wasn't to be and a place that claims to be a four-star hotel should deliver a far better experience than a Motel 6.

Yelp
It was hard to go with 1 star because the staff was friendly, but I could not justify 2 stars with the conditions of the room, internet, air quality and plumbing. Other than the TV, you are essentially time traveling back the 1980s considering the lack of cleanliness, decor and layout of the rooms. The internet gives out every five minutes or so, and sometimes disconnects entirely. The shower head trickles out water, while also wasting significant amounts since some is constantly leaking out of the bath faucet. Finally, there is a noticeable mildew scent, and after some hunting I found the (or, one) source of it (see photo attached). Other co-workers had similar issues, many of whom were forced to switch rooms. Stay, clear.

Yelp
Landed a deal on Priceline for this place, as Priceline advertised it as a 4 star hotel. I would really give this place 2.5 instead of 2, but 3 seems too generous to round up. Pros: - location, very convenient to get to different areas of downtown Milwaukee - check in was very cordial and attentive - Starbucks within the property Cons: - the outside looks like a sterile 1980s hospital - the smell of the bathroom was awful, very moldy/mildew, grout was not cleaned in years - the overall vibe was tired and outdated. One lone microwave was on a small table by the elevators - parking is far and still expensive - the second floor open area just looks like a sad conference room lobby. Wish they put some elegant couches/arm chairs there as it is currently dead and wasted space. - the advertisement as this is a 4 star hotel works against them as expectations are set high and not met.

Yelp
This review is mostly on 3 parking options near Hyatt Regency Milwaukee Hotel except for my last sentence in this review, though I do verify that this is an overall 3-star experience. First option: The hotel has a parking garage directly next to it. If you look on Google Maps, it is called "Isaac's Parking" on 340 W. Wells Street. It is a privately owned garage and is currently the most expensive option because it's the most convenient for those staying at the hotel. Hotel staff are very knowledgeable about process, price, and options to pay for the all-day rate, hourly rate, etc. If you choose to valet your vehicle with Hyatt valet, they will likely park your car at or near this parking garage. Second option: The hotel has a fully enclosed skybridge to this second parking garage option, which is cheaper (at the time of this review, it's $8 cheaper per day) and a quick five-minute walk from the hotel to the garage via the skybridge. The name of the parking is "310 W," currently run by SP+, and its address is 747 N. Old World 3rd Street. This garage is more well-maintained than the first option, though the stalls are narrower. I have walked here alone via the skybridge and the garage is well-lit and feels safe. Third option: If you're traveling to Milwaukee on the cheap, you may want to look at street parking options. There are many metered parking stalls around the hotel and there are free parking times (like Sunday is free all day). Heed the signs, though, as time restrictions can vary by block. The City of Milwaukee has an easy to use app called "MKE Park" so you can see what stalls are available, the cost, and you can pay (and extend your parking time, if needed) through the app. And for those who are thinking of not traveling by car or walk to really be on the cheap, Milwaukee is a very easy city to walk/bike/take public transport. As long as your travel is within the city of Milwaukee, I recommend you research it and see if you can do without renting a car. As for the actual hotel, the staff do their best to make it a nice environment and there is a real Starbucks cafe in the hotel, but the rooms are very outdated and the atrium noise can be heard in the hotel room.

Yelp
I'm staying her for a conference. Although this is a Hyatt Regency, I would not describe my room as luxury. The side chairs are what you'd see in a doctor's waiting room. There is an ample desk but only three small drawers for clothes if you like to use those. Small fridge no micro. The flat screen TV is on a swivel base. The bathroom is tiny. No way two people could be in there at the same time. The king size bed and pillows are very comfortable and I slept well. No noise in my 6th floor room across from the elevators and next to the ice machine. We had the opening dinner in the round restaurant at the top of the hotel. It has breathtaking views of the City especially at night. It's the unique feature of this hotel. I would probably stay here again.

Yelp
First thing I got there, the guy at valet hung outside my window flirting with me and saying inappropriate comments and would not leave me alone until I gave him my phone number and he called the number in front of me, mind you, he's going to be in control of my car! Then I was charged an outrageous amount for a room that was not at all what it looked like online, the towels were stained, none of the plugs worked and the tv kept going in and out also the internet service was extremely poor. I had to go down the hall to heat my left overs as well. It was not at all a good experience and being a part of the membership, I thought I would get some better accommodations. I will absolutely NOT be apart of they're membership any longer nor will I ever stay at a Hyatt again.

Yelp
Trash in the halls, rude service, safety is great and all but it was a pain to scan into every single door/elevator

Yelp
Lobby was nice. Hotel restaurant was adequate, though servicewasnt fantastic. Rates were very reasonable, but my room had a strong, odd odor and there were major moisture issues around the windows which left mildew stains all over the curtains My eyes were so itchy I couldn't sit near them.

E N.

Yelp
The whole reason I put two stars instead of three was because when I first arrived, a person in my group and I went to the bathroom down in the lobby. There were some sort of wires and stuff in front of it, but nothing saying the bathrooms were closed. My friend and I did our business, and when we were washing our hands, a man in his 60s, who I assume was a manager or supervisor of some sort, knocked VERY LOUDLY and yelled VERY RUDELY, like we were children, that these bathrooms are closed and to get out. Very bad service if a supervisor is rude and scolding and terrifying costumers. The room and lobby are a bit unclean, especially for a four star hotel. One positive is that the location is good. My advice: Find someplace else if you can.

Yelp
I love this hotel. Every time my wife and I need a night away we go to this downtown hotel. It has always been super clean, the service is always friendly, and it's just a beautiful hotel. Also has always been good priced. They have all the works which makes your stay complete. Easy parking, Starbucks, a bar, and more. It's also very centralized to all the good bars and such. I would suggest this place for anyone staying in Milwaukee.
