Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort

Beautiful resort. Although we didn't travel with our children, I saw there was something for everyone. Beautiful pools-- both family and adult only. There was a beach-like area, a water slide, a pool volleyball court. The hotel was extremely clean. The food was excellent at the two restaurants-- Tiki Taka and Mesa Centrale. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The indoor/outdoor lobby bar was a wonderful place to sit and relax. The beautiful weather did not hurt at all. I would definitely return with my children.

I am down here for work, so the location is very close to where I need to be. The hotel is beautiful and the room I spacious and clean. I love the sustainability program, so if you opt out of maid service while your there. Great restaurants, I have enjoyed bothe dinner and breakfast at Masa Centrale, thumbs up! They have a 24 hr. Market, so if you need snacks or supplies. Will definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 4 nights with a friend. Food was excellent! The breakfast sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had. The service at the restaurants and pool was great. Tons of open chairs and umbrellas. Water slide was fun! Easy to uber around the area. I agree with other reviews that the rooms are loud, bring ear plugs. Self park is $32 a night which seems extreme to me. Room service menu is very limited, and there is a $5 delivery fee. Order door dash instead. Hotel guests have access to some classes at the gym across the street; make sure to ask the concierge about that. There is no hotel shuttle. Over all, I’d def stay here again!

I travel often and have stayed at many resorts and properties, and I’ve never been nickel-and-dimed the way I was here. I spent over $300 at the lounge bar alone, and they wouldn’t validate my sister’s parking when she came to visit me on property because it wasn’t the “restaurant on property tiki taka” It’s not even about the $20 parking fee — it’s the principle. When a guest is spending over $1,000 during their stay, you’d expect the company to show even the smallest level of appreciation or flexibility, especially for something as simple as parking validation for a visitor. Other resorts and corporate properties do this without hesitation. Overall, I left feeling like more of a transaction than a valued guest, which is unfortunate because this place has so much potential.

Great place to stay. The location of the resort is convenient. The staff is nice and helpful, it’s maintained well, clean and best of all, very family friendly, so many activities for the kids. There are separated pool areas for adults and families. Pickleball courts, tennis courts, a little putting area, sand at the pool like a beach for kids to play in, lots of green fields for the kids to play ball in. Gold club is gorgeous. ||||Breakfast is delicious, huge spread. The on site restaurants look really nice. Lounge for members has fun treats. ||||Literally, the only con was I wish the spa was more reasonable. I would have definitely scheduled something with my daughter if the prices were better. Maybe a good package deal. A 60 min massage for 250 plus, is ridiculous. Give a great deal and you’ll make way more and a lot of satisfied guest. It’s not just this resort it’s all of them that do this. The only one I found sensible price was Wyndham in Clearwater. I went with 6 of my girls and it was so worth the 550 each. Look into it Hyatt you have everything else as perfect!

The Hotel has been recently updated and is very well kept. The staff was the best part of our stay. From Zach, Brooklyn, Connor and Landon at check in and showing us up to our room. Steve, Max, & Dony at Mesa Centrale. At the pool was Jennifer, Kili, and Aldo, all of you a big Thank You for making our stay special. Each of you took the time to stop and visit, you all seemed so caring. Our room was spacious and inviting. The only negative (which was out of the hotel's control) was the leaf blowers from the golf course across the way that would start at 5:50am. We would stay here again the next time we visit Scottsdale.

We’ve been Hyatt Globalist member since 2021. Been to many hyatt hotels everywhere. Customer Service feels underwhelming. We checked in at the same time with our friends who has Globalist Status too, their kids were given plushies but mine dont. We were not informed of the lounge open and close time, when we got to our room (which is quite a walk), the keys did not work. Disappointing. The property is beautiful, huge, clean, modern and love the landscape. Breakfast is relaxing as there is an open space by the patio for our kids to play while we take our time to eat breakfast. We were not honored a late checkout.

Visited the resort and found the grounds to be immaculate. Check in was a breeze. Valet service had your car to you in seconds. Rooms were well furnished and clean. Soft sheets. Many pillows. Quiet room. I can go on and on.||I'm going really deep to find a complaint. Maybe that they wouldn't let me take the luggage cart to my own room? But I understand the resort is large and the carts will never find their way back to the front. ||If I ever come back to Scottsdale, I will definitely consider staying right here again.

10/10 experience. Rooms are clean and beautiful. Staff is always kind and service is amazing. Jake at the pool was amazing, and David at the front desk was as well. Would recommend this resort to anyone- whether you have kids, are on a honeymoon or just alone. The slide is fun too! Eagle Joe is cool too. We saw Maggie the Owl and a red tail hawk. Super knowledgeable and kind.

The entire hotel is under construction. There are so many laws being broken because you literally have to walk through construction zones to get to and from your room, the pool, front desk. The construction started with loud banging this morning at 5:30am. I called the front desk and Alisa at the front desk was so rude - she said there is nothing they can do and hung up on me. Apparently construction at this hotel has not been done in section or phases . It is still fully under. The noises and smells are all over the place. Our room sprung a leak. What a disaster! My recommendation is to not come here before 2025- hopefully by then the construction will be done

If I could give it 0 I would. Where do I start... we arrived between 3:30-4am on a Thursday early morning. When we arrive to our rooms we notice we are facing the loading dock. Now before coming to this hotel, I made sure I called several times to ask for pool side facing and that we had connecting rooms with our family that was traveling with us. Well, we did not get pool facing view and no connecting rooms. I understand that when I called several times they mention they will do their best and do their best to give us this. But that was not the case. Also, our loading dock area was loud as they start loading and unloading at 6am. So yes imagine that... we didn't get any sleep as the noice woke us up along with construction. When I talked to management they mention that due to booking a standard room we are automatically put in that section. She said she can upgrade me to the pool view but for would cost more. This is the upsetting part as they didn't say anything of this sort when I called multiple times. The loading dock area they put us in was a mission to get to. If I recall right- we had to take an elevator to 4th floor then walk across the building they construction close of areas and then get back on the elevator to go down to floor 3. When we arrived at floor 3. We had to walk around the half of the other side of construction closed area. That it self was a mission and their own worked said that was a maze to get to. Let's fast forward to when they did finally change our room. We now have a room on the 3rd floor and to get to it, it was a bit better. But this time we have water damage and one side of the bed floor completely soaked. The AC was dripping from under the carpet. We had to call (no one came- after 3hrs) Ao we decided to go down and tell them in person. They told us they would send someone. This time the person did come but with a bucket. I mention to the personal that it was under the carpet as water was even exiting towards the balcony. Well they decided to put a fan and just air it out because the personal worker wasn't able to find the leak. We were not offered another room but to just have a fan in our room. Yeah that was not ok' and upset us even more. (And not to mention the construction noise we now had loud) Onto the 3rd room they moved us. Oh and by the way this is all under 20hrs. Not even freaken day had yet passed. This time our room was decent but had to be ok with a King bed and a single sofa bed. (Originally I had booked 2 queens as I have an 8u was old and a 10 year old). I was so tired of fitting as we had 3more nights. (We were there for my daughter's completion. So things were already crazy) . So yes, overall it was a horrible experience. They me too they would give me 20k points as a sorry for the inconvenience... well that didn't happen. Construction is so loud that waking up at 6/7am to loud machinery is not ok!!

I came to the pool in Dec 2024 with a spa pass. The bonus was my mom and I were one of the only ones there. There was one other small family there. The con is that there is a bunch of construction going on and there was loud construction noise the entire time. The facilities are clean and the pool is well kept. I liked the sand area at the pool. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The renovation looks absolutely stunning. We got to stay in a nice Courtyard room with great views. We ate at Mesa Céntrale for dinner, and enjoyed all the food. The service was outstanding. Everyone at the hotel is so friendly and helpful.

I stayed at this Hyatt Regency for a work conference, and had a good experience overall! The grounds are lovely, with plenty of space and nice views of the Arizona landscape. The layout can get a little confusing, especially since the main entrance to the building with rooms is on the 2nd floor. But once you get your bearings, it's a nice little campus with beautiful, well-maintained grounds. The rooms were great. Clean, new furniture, nice bathrooms. The bed left a little to be desired, but overall I think the rooms are a good value for this level of hotel. In terms of amenities, the fitness center was fine, it had a nice assortment of dumbbells, machines, and cardio equipment. No free weights from what I saw. There's a small cafe, as well as a restaurant and a separate bar that flank a central courtyard. I wasn't blown away by the food and the bar. Good value overall if you're looking for a nicer hotel in Scottsdale!

Was looking forward to staying here as our Scottsdale final destination for my kids spring break after visiting Grand Canyon to Williams to Flagstaff. If I were non-WOH member, I'd give this property 3.5~4 stars but this property does absolute bare minimum for Hyatt globalists. I spoke to my concierge before visiting and the property didn't meet our requests. I know it's dime a dozen now and the perks are getting gradually worse so I am seriously contemplating not bothering with maintaining it anymore.. Anyway... The lobby and gardens looked definitely on the mid-high end of regency level property and better than even some andaz or grand hyatt ones. Hotel itself is gorgeous with a nice pool, though I didn't like the murkiness of the water. This property didn't have a club lounge so we were offered breakfast credit at the lobby restaurant. We didn't have to pay but the breakfast buffet was lackluster with less than 10 items. Room interior was obviously higher end than Hyatt Place we stayed in Flagstaff but room was tiny compared to it and was honestly not more comfortable. Self parking lot was close enough to the entrance but was in a terrible shape with narrow aisles and spaces, cracked blacktop. It's not really the hotel's fault but we were awaken at 4:30am by a bunch of drunk people yelling in the hallway... I don't know if I particularly enjoyed my stay at this property. Maybe my expectations were to high..

Unfortunately we came at the worst time when the whole place is under construction. It was not mentioned at all during booking , nor was the room price any cheaper. The layout is so confusing and makes 0 sense. You have to go up to the 4th floor then go down a hallway then take THAT elevator to the 3rd floor? So ridiculous. Was not worth the money that was paid. Yes the pool is nice but for $290 for one night we should be feeling a lot more than just a nice pool. Found a spider on the bed probably because of all the construction going on. I wish I knew how weird this place was. Save your $300 and go to Marriott. Very awful experience.

One of my all-time favorite staycations. Now and then we would treat our self to this beautiful resort. We went the other night because they had a pop-up Christmas tent. It was really fun but pricey. Loved the people working there, Jake, Aaron, and Brian. I WOULD RECOMMEND

The hotel is beautiful and the condition is immaculate, but the service is lacking and undertrained. My family spent over $100,000 this weekend at the hotel for a wedding and event. We had a ViP cabana rented for the weekend and the first day it took them hour to confirm if they even had any open after construction. They showed our reservation but didn't know how to give us one. Different story from 10 different people. And on the last day while trying to load up our cars to leave I was told I couldn't use a luggage cart without using a valet and paying them first. Like what the hell.

This was our second time staying here and we absolutely love the resort. They offer so much from complimentary workout classes to varying activities such as Native American bead making bracelets. They have a great pool area with food/bar. They have a spa on site that is open from Thursdays-Tuesdays. I would suggest booking way ahead of time and not waiting until a week out. My only complaint is the rooms. Their outlets are located in the oddest spots, to the left of the tv and on one of the nightstands that is under the headboard. My only other complaint is the shower. Only half of it is glassed which leaves the back half open and results in so much water on the floor of the bathroom. One of the workers did tell me that they are in the process of remodeling so hopefully these will be a couple of the changes that will take place. Other than that, we love this resort and definitely plan on returning upon our next trip to the area

Aug. 2024 Distrubing visit. Not going back for the following: not easy to follow directions. Lost several times going to the pool to the floors. Signs posted in English only. Not accessible friendly for wheelchairs. New Shower system poor design. Beware the bathroom floor is wet . I would market the property as a haunted experience. Escape room / haunted hotel experience.

We loved our stay at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale! Upon arrival, we were helped by Max. He was super welcoming and gave us great recommendations of his favorite food spots in Old Town. He offered us some complimentary margs which of course was amazing after traveling. We spent one of our days at the adult pool. It has a lot of ledges and areas for you to hang out. It never felt crowded and had a very relaxing but lively vibe. There was a lot of shaded seating option too! The pool bar was great, they had a big selection of frozen drinks which is the best in the AZ heat. The pool was warm but not too hot. Besides a pool, they had golf, tennis, a gym, a spa, restaurants, and a water slide! Looked fun for families but still relaxing for couples. Our room was nice and spacious. The bed is comfy and the room clean. I'd definitely recommend this resort to a friend!

The Hyatt Regency Scottsdale is simply awesome. Background:My wife and I were looking for a destination to spend a few days to celebrate our anniversary. As parents of three we had to pull off a small mircale to get away for 4 nights. We had wanted Cabo , but were worried about the required COVID test to get back home. We couldn't be stuck in Mexico. We settled on Scottsdale as it's a quick plane ride from us. We also wanted guaranteed warm weather. We selected the Hyatt based on its abundance of pools and relaxing looking atmosphere. Great choice. One of the chillest trips I've had. Room: Upon checking in we were given a Courtyard view room. It was an awesome room with a great view. Balcony overlooked the whole resort grounds and the hopping courtyard. Room was spacious and clean. It came with a refrigerator which was clutch. Comfortable Bed. Forgot to mention when we checked in we were given a complimentary Margarita. Pools: The pool area is massive. It has tons of pools, a sandy beach, huge hot tub, and a few bars. I loved that it had an adult Pool included. My wife and I pretty much spent 4 straight days just relaxing at the Adult Pool.The adult Pool vibe was very chill and relaxing. Weather was great. We ordered drinks and food from our chairs daily. We got great service. I did hit up the water slide a few times. Enjoyed the Hot Tub each morning. Amenities: Free Bikes to rent. My wife and I took advantage of these each morning to get coffee. Great Spa. My wife enjoyed her massage. In addition to the pools and hot tubs there's numerous pool side activities being offered daily and games like corn hole.There are numerous restaurants and bars throughout the property as well. The bar by the courtyard has live music every night. It's a very fun scene. There's tons of tables in the courtyard that you can order food and drinks from while you listen to the music. Service: Every single person I encountered provided great service. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Location: This was my first time to Scottsdale, so I had no clue about lay of the land. The Hyatt is in a great location though. On our way from the airport we stopped at a Safeway that was a 5 minute drive. There are tons of restaurants within walking distance. Just a short walk.diwn the street. You can also take the free bikes the Hyatt offers. Tons more restaurants a short uber/drive away. Final Thoughts: My wife and I enjoyed our time here immensely. Great resort for couples. Adult Pool is where it's at. But I want to drive this point home. I feel this resort can be great for families or friend groups as well Pool area is huge. Tons of activities for kids. Water Slide and Sandy beach appeal to kids. My wide and I were talking about bringing our kids here for a few days. I absolutely loves this resort and highly recommend it to all. Can't wait for my next visit here!

We had a huge family birthday celebration of 7 rooms and families flying in from all over the US. The hotel misrepresented their enormous renovations and should be closed. We had children with no dining room or lobby area to meet in. Only one working elevator with no air conditioning on our hotel floors. Horrific conditions getting to the pool needing to take multiple elevators (only one working again) with a hallway with of drywall and floor lamps for lighting. Dangerous rigid stairs to take strollers down and impossible for elderly people with mobility conditions. No misters at the pool eating in 125 degree heat and the pool water was cloudy and not clear with no one checking chemicals for days. No where to take your family to eat except a conference room and they want to charge you a resort fee. Do not go. Cancel reservations. Once I arrived i read reviews saying people wished they wouldn't have stayed there. Construction starts at 6:00 am waking our young children and us. Left feeling drained and exhausted. Emailed Hyatt with no response. To add to the conditions on Labor Day weekend they allow locals to use their facilities. Over crowded for hotel guests paying top $$$. After multiple emails no one has responded and we had thank goodness a hospitality suite. Rebook somewhere else for sure

Sigh, it hurts that I have to leave this type of review because the reason we came back to this property several times is due to the great past experiences. This stay left a LOT to be desired. Understandably, hotels go through renovations. This renovation was due to be done by now. Also, it is understandable that projects run behind. What is NOT understandable is why, upon check-in, we were put in a room facing the front of the hotel where part of the construction traffic was visibly and audibly taking place. We asked for a room just across the hall, which would have had a better view and a little less noise. We were given a room in the section that the elevators were not working and where the construction and highly visible construction dust were. The dust literally had us choked up and sneezing horribly. Why put guests in that section of the resort when it wasn't even busy with guests???? We went back to the front desk to ask for another room. We were given a room two doors down and in the same dusty section! Unbelievable!! And unacceptable. Once again, we went to the front desk to specifically request a room in the renovated section facing the back lawn/pool (no construction sites). Why did we have to go through all of that!? That run around surely soured our experience. However, Hily (I believe was her name) at the pool during the week was very pleasant. The Ahi Tacos she recommended were great. The pool areas were nicely maintained.

I purchased a day pass for the spa via ResortPass, and I was so impressed with the spa. Upon checking in, an attendant showed me around and got me a locker. Once I had a minute to get changed, I headed out to the private pool, open only to spa guests. The wonderful attendant kept me in food and drink as I rested, read, and relaxed in the sunshine. The food and drinks were very good, and his attention was unmatched. Once I'd tired of all that, I did some time in the hot tub before doing sauna, steam and then a storm shower. I had just enough time to dry my hair, do my makeup, and change before my car picked me up to head to the airport after ten long days away. I think I made perfect use of my late flight out. I returned to my family relaxed and happy after a short direct flight home. I hope to come back and stay here soon. I'd do a full spa day and also a day at one of the resort's pools.

Had booked this location for one night while the KC Chiefs were staying for the Super Bowl. After check-in, my 10 year old son & I were standing out front watching some players come & go. We were also accompanied by a family the consisted of a grandma, mother & younger daughter. They were excited to hear that we had seen some of the players and we started conversation. Almost immediately a member of the hotels security staff approached and started harassing us, telling us that we would be evicted from the hotel, without refund, if we were seen hawking the players. He made it a point to tell me that "you checked out an hour ago", when I had just checked in within the hour. Persisted with the threats to the point in which I went back inside and asked for a refund for my night, packed up and left. What a terrible, uncomfortable position to be placed in, with my son and the other family. I'm embarrassed for the hotel and I will be deleting my Hyatt account/app.

My favorite resort in the valley mainly because of the lobby bar Esteban n the lobby bar....or just the k​araoke bar in the pool grotto bar. Best pool complex also imo

Stopped by the Tipsy Grinch for a nightcap. Tent was very small and was not heated, so was fairly cold and did not encourage staying longer due to the temperature. Ordered the grinch-mas drink, it was fairly sweet for my preference. This place does donate a portion of the sales to a shelter, which is nice to see.

We just stayed at this Hyatt over Spring break. The property was still under construction all over and several areas closed including rock climbing. They advertised the pool as completed which was nice however pool area still under construction so while you are trying to relax by the pool you hear hammering and drilling since they were still completing pool bars. The room we had was supposed to be newly renovated but was a mess. Clearly slapped together. Paint inside was messy, floating wall shelf sagging from wall so things rolled off. We had no hot water and after calling front desk learned shower plumbing was all installed backwards. Whomever was the GC at this property should be fired. Staff was nice, however concierge clearly knew nothing as he was looking on websites to answer questions and had no personal knowledge of anything we asked about. Food was good which was only thing bringing this to 2 stars. $800 for a regular room with 2 queen beds-ridiculous for the experience and status of this property

I've never stayed at this hotel but have come to the lounge a number of times to hear House of Stairs. Tonight's service was way off... I was alone and initially it might have seemed like I was waiting for someone, but it took a long time to place an order. Then my server, who I thought was a sweet guy, told me he was leaving and someone else would take over. No one came over until I flagged another server at least 30 minutes after the initial server left. He was anxious to wait on the couple behind me and looked kind of indignant when I asked for his attention. I apologized to couple behind me and said I had been waiting a long time. But if I hadn't flagged the server down, he would have probably just ignored me again. I noticed that the servers were looking straight ahead when they walked by so as not to make eye contact with anyone. Here's the deal...it wasn't crowded. Most everyone was seated outside. Some older ladies came in and sat in the front of the lounge where there was a reserved sign, but no one was there for a solid 2 1/2 hours. The server told them they had to move because it cost $250.00 to reserve the seats. WTH? Totally rude! Initially I thought that the tables were reserved for a small private party that was there, but they gone at least an hour earlier. Really bad form...I have a negative impression about this place now. Their food and drinks are good but pricey and to me...trying to charge money to sit up front in the lounge is nickel and diming your upscale clientele. Whatever... I know the employees have no control over the policies, but the servers could be more friendly and actually LOOK for customers to serve... management really needs to look at the snobby impression they're creating. At this point, I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here without telling about the "service."

We came for a business, but spent some personal time in Scottsdale. We got engaged here many years ago at the gondolas, but unfortunately they did away with that. It was disappointing to find that out as we looked forward to reliving that moment. The pool area looks beautifully manicured along with all the landscaping. Our room was away from the elevators, down the hall in the corner. Very secluded. It didn't overlook anything special from the patio, but it was very quiet. The room was very simple, but with a modern touch. It had all the amenities we needed. The concierge was helpful with restaurant locations and phone numbers. They were in the process of renovating the front entrance there is a little walk from parking lot. They do have a nicely marked pickup area for Uber/Lyft.

This resort is AMAZING!!! Great staff especially Stieg & Mark at the SWB. Yasmine, Cameron, Dillon & Brandie at the pool. The Spa Avania folks and masseuse, Brandon & Mary as well as the support staff made that experience exceptional!! Located in a great area of Scottsdale with many amenities close by, you can't go wrong here. Just a couple hour car trip to Sedona, a must do. But then back to this magical place. Oh I almost forgot, live music in the evenings, fun for all ages!! We intend on returning soon and see the many updates planned over the coming months. The staff here are the nicest and most professional. We have had a truly 5 star experience and cannot stop raving about this hotel. (Will update more shortly but wanted to give it the kudos it deserves).

Loved this resort. Checked in with my girlfriend and room was ready. Clean and spacious. Views were unbelievable of the lake and the golf course from our balcony. Sat by the pool one afternoon and was wonderful . Would definitely stay here again !!Was convenient to everything and love the Gainey Ranch area. Gorgeous place.

Do you have young children? Do you want a change of scenery? Are you looking for a staycation resort in Scottsdale? This is your destination! They have a Starbucks onsite. They have cuisines for any eater: Southwest, Italian, kids (I.e., chicken tenders, French fries, or pizza), sushi, and breakfast. Although the lunch menu is slightly limited if you aren't by the pool. Having said that, who isn't at the pool?! The busiest area is by far near the beach area. That is where all the action is: beach (with real sand), the circular slide (not nearly as tall as the slide at the AZ Biltmore, but still fun for kids and adults alike), and the splash pad island. Lots of umbrellas! Just watch out for the aggressive birds - if you leave your bag of chips unattended, they will shake it open and then help themselves. I couldn't believe it! There are lots of other pools. The adult pool is not my favorite because it reminds me of spring break. Still loud, but adult-loud and gets louder the more alcohol that is served. Did I mention how family friendly this resort is? They have a daily candy bar (someone gives your kids candy). On the weekends your kid can make a beaded bracelet for $5 in the lobby. When we stayed, a mermaid and merman entertained the kids at the pool. And they have other daily events - like a giant inflatable slide, golf ball dive, and boat race. They have live music - at least on the weekends. The music artists are very talented! The staff work hard, are friendly, and although short-staffed at the pool, they made sure to get to everyone who wanted to order something. Great location. Free shuttles to nearby shopping hotspots. I'm glad we tried out this Scottsdale resort! We made special memories here.

My family and I had the opportunity to vacation and this property back in August of this year. It is a beautiful hotel and in immaculate condition. We were impressed with the hotel at the very start as we pulled into the long, beautiful driveway filled with palm trees and tropical theme on the property. The valet parked our car in front of the large windowed entrance of the Hyatt hotel. When we pulled up, we were greeted with the valet parkers who are very nice. We stayed in a two bedroom penthouse suite. Although it was very expensive at about $1200 a night, the space was huge for a family of four and we enjoyed the extra room. it even had three full bathrooms. The middle living room space was excellent for entertaining. Our family gatherings who are staying nearby. I must say the service at the hotel was excellent and everybody was very friendly. During our stay, we rented cabanas at the pool. The cabanas are nice, but seems like they need a little bit of fixing up regarding the upholstery's. The service again from the poolside attendees serving us beverages and food were great. I would definitely stay at this hotel within the area.

Gone are the days of a fresh made margarita at check in. And with this, housekeeping! Was told we couldn't have turnover service bc we booked 3 nights, not 4. Even if you request it! I was taken aback. I noticed that if you are lounging at the adult pool, you are hearing music from The Grotto bar, as well as music booming in from the family friendly pool area. It's not relaxing and actually irritating. We were unpleasantly surprised on two evenings that strong cigarette smoke wafted in from the balcony next to us. It actually made our whole room reek of cigarette odor, because our sliding door was open a crack. Not sure who to blame here, but it felt tacky and my hair and clothes even kept a faint smell of cigarette! Now that I'm done grumbling, I want to also show some love where it is due... Our pool drink/snack server was so nice and took very attentive care that we had everything we needed, and she did this in a non-intrusive polite way. I also loved having breakfast in the cafe. Definitely sit outside if possible. The ambiance is soothing. I love sitting under the rows of palm trees, hearing the water fountains and taking in the fresh air. I also just adore the general feel of this resort. The grounds are so beautiful and everything feels so elegant as you move throughout the property. Still think this place is pretty great but I have to deduct a star as they've fallen a little short on my 2nd visit. I do understand covid has changed everything, and measures had to be taken, however I still didn't feel as taken care of as the first time I checked in, a few years back.

This hotel has been an AZ staple for as long as I can remember. I used to bed my mom to get a room here when I was a kid for a staycation so we could enjoy the incredible pool and water slide. As an adult I still love coming here for a staycation. My favorite part of the resort is how they go all-out on the holidays! This year they had a pop up Grinch Bar that was so festive and fun,

I wanted to share my recent experience at the Southwest Bistro restaurant at the Hyatt Regency Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona. My wife and I had a few expiring points with Hyatt and we decided to use them for a nice dinner for two. Because of the recent resurgence of the Covid virus, our dining activities have been limited to outdoor dining only. However, the December weather in Arizona has been very cold with an amazing amount of rain, making outdoor dining near impossible. I called the Hyatt Regency Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale and spoke with "Dominic" at the front desk. He explained that we could use our points at any of the hotel's restaurants and simply order our food "to go." He added that not everyone in the restaurants would know how to process this type of order so I should ask for a manager. I then called the Southwest Bistro restaurant (SWB) and asked to speak to a manager. "Francis" took my call and said she was the manager "on duty." She took our order, which was a Strip Loin steak, a Free Range chicken, a Chopped Salad, and a Crème brûlée for desert, all "to go." When I then told her I was going to use points for the meal, she said it was very easy to do - and she wasn't kidding! In fact, she then asked me what time we wanted our food to be ready, and she even called me when our order was ready while we were in our way to the hotel. The food was excellent, cooked perfectly, and may have been one of the best looking and tasting "take out" dinners we've had in a very long time. Most importantly, it was obvious to us that "Francis" wasn't your ordinary manager: She wanted to be sure our experience at SWB and Hyatt was perfect in every way. In my business life as a retailer, I believe that wanting to satisfy customers can't be trained, but instead, is a "behavior" that is unalterable. As a consequence, our stores performed extremely well in spite of incredibly tough competition, mainly, I believe, because we hired men and women who put customers on a pedestal. One thing is for certain - hotel and restaurant customers have so many options, the main differentiator will always come down to their ability to servicing the customer.  "Francis" would be the kind of person I would have immediately hired. In fact, if I didn't have a job for her, I'd hire her and create one. The most important "take away" here is that "Francis" genuinely loves Hyatt and her teammates, loves her job, and absolutely loves talking to her good customers. To say that "Francis" is the perfect ambassador for SWB at Hyatt would be an understatement. She literally beams  "customer urgency," a talent that was rare enough before the Pandemic, and is now practically extinct. But to my point, if I were her supervisor or mentor, I'd position her in the most highly visible job possible. With "Francis" at the helm, why would a customer dine anywhere else? When this Pandemic and the weather become more manageable we plan to dine in person at SWB and we'll be sure to say hello to "Francis!"

I am a super solid fan of this resort and have been coming here for years. Even though they are under construction I have to say it's far better than The Royal Palms another Hyatt Property. The rooms are super clean and super condition. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Would have preferred a few more services even during construction. Looking forward to what it will become.

**OPEN DURING COVID** My +1 and I stayed here during COVID in July. It was a great time with only a few minor complaints. First of all, the place is absolutely beautiful and feels like an oasis in the desert. The grounds are immaculate and the tall palms lining the property lend a majestic and regal air to the place. My room was clean, modern, and pretty roomy, though the dimensions were a little deceptive. There was a narrow, 20 ft. entryway with a small table that was otherwise useless space. We stored our luggage, ice chest and and souvenirs there but that was about it. Our balcony overlooked a large courtyard patio space, which was beautiful. There was a little bit of noise from people staying up late below, but it was tolerable with the window shut. Considering it was the middle of summer, we kept it shut anyway. Our reservation included breakfast, and since the buffet was closed we ate at the restaurant. Breakfast was delicious. We tried avocado toast, the breakfast sandwich, pancakes, French toast and yogurt parfaits. Everything was delicious. The cook even came out and recommended a particular habanero sauce that went especially well with my eggs and breakfast sandwich. Everyone at the restaurant was warm and friendly. Mark, the gentleman who served us most of the time, was particularly personable and pleasant, offering suggestions at not only what to eat, but what to do around the city. The local insight was especially welcome considering you didn't know what was still open with the pandemic. The pools were open, which was a welcome respite from the heat, and they were impressive despite the waterfalls and slide being shut down. My only complaint was that the waterfalls and filter in the adult pool shut down after 6 or 7 or so, which made the pool fill up with bugs and plant debris pretty quickly. Overall we enjoyed our time, but would advise to adjust your expectations during COVID accordingly.

Honestly kind of a let down. The pictures online look great but when you get into the hotel it was nothing stellar. The property as a whole looks nice but kind of dated. They have these restaurants that look like they were once well kept, but they almost give off the feel that your eating in some kind of dining hall due to so much going on under the roof of the lobby. The pool area also didn't look like it was very well kept. It was nice, but looked like it was designed to be nicer. For example, my friends and I were chilling in the adult pool on the left hand side, opposite to the bar area. It looks like there was once some kind of fountain than poured into the center, but it appeared turned off/shut down for good. The cement around the pool was also all cracked and old looking. The drinks at the pool were great tho. Highly recommend the Rum Runner!!! In terms of the room, we were a bit disappointed during our 2 night stay, as the plumbing was broke in our room and we had to switch rooms. On top of that, they moved us to a room where our balcony was right next to the speakers for the evening music. In result, some sleep was lost.

I have been here several times; and all of my experiences have been great; I have been a long time member of Hyatt for 10 years and every experience is different, but the one thing that has always been the same is the 5 Star customer service; and awesome, outgoing, funny employees. I have fell in love with my experiences at this hotel. The Hyatt is a one or a kind hotel and they definitely take care of you, and the few times things have happened that made me mad or anything, the hotel managers were right on top of it fixing it, I have never had to fight with anyone to wait for a resolution, they had whatever my issues was fixed with-in minutes. Thank you for always taking care of me, my family and friends. Our stay was once again awesome and amazing. Can't wait for our next stay.

Absolutely gorgeous resort. A great mix of classic and modern, indoor and outdoor, sexy and family-friendly. Stayed here for eight days and all though we had some hiccups, they were mitigated right away and made better in a lot of ways. The reason we came here primarily was for the pool and it is awesome. The beach in the middle of the desert has to be one of the coolest things. My kids loved it and spent hours playing in the cool sand. The slide is great and I'm pretty sure I got down the fastest but it needs to stay open longer. It's only open from 11am to 5pm which is weird cause the sun doesn't go down until after 8. The pool complex is expansive. There are a bunch of pools all over the place. There is an adult pool that when I got the chance to go was surprised to see it be as raucous as the regular pool. A group of twenty-somethings with perhaps a bit too much to drink were singing and dancing their hearts out. It was fun but I can see they were annoying some of the elderly folk that just wanted to chill Really love the live music that they put on from Tuesday through Saturday. It's just a nice touch to be able to go downstairs and have that with perhaps a cocktail from the bar. Speaking of,The Old Fashion is no joke. Would absolutely stay here again.

We celebrated my wife's birthday at this hotel just before the pandemic hit. The entire resort is absolutely beautiful. The sheer number of pools they had was amazing. The property is very large so we were able to walk around and explore quite a bit. A lot of areas to lounge around and there's even a gondola behind the hotel in Gainey Ranch Lake you can take for a small fee. They have many events during the week, including live music at night and events showcasing birds of prey and Native American dancers. We also rented bikes to ride around the neighborhood. We stayed for 2 nights, which is a bit too short considering there's so much to do outside of R&R by the pool and the spa. Would absolutely come back here again in the future!

Absolutely loved my stay here and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. Stayed here for a work conference that was on site at the hotel itself. Arrived early in the week and check in was a breeze. They have a large and beautiful lobby with tons of seating areas and it's a great working / hang out space. The staff was friendly and helpful at all times. They have events daily - check out the chalkboard in the lobby for events and times. Meeting a bird of prey that was being walked around by its handler was a definite highlight of my visit. Rooms are well kept and very comfortable. I was able to relax and recoup in my room during down times from the work conference. The space is well laid out, I also had a great balcony that faced out to the entry loop with a pretty view of trees. The conference space is on the opposite side of the hotel from the rooms, which makes for a bit of a walk, but it's nice to have these clearly defined spaces. Conference rooms were great and were a good fit for our needs. Overall: A+ Lovely hotel with excellent staff. They do fun events and have comfy rooms!

I loved this place, beautiful, upscale, a place you take someone to impress. We had our rheumatology conference here and it was a fantastic experience with the staff here. Their bar downstairs is also serving delicious bar bites. Highly recommend

The hotel is very nice and I would return! I just recommend eating elsewhere. Room (4 stars): Nice rooms. Good bathrooms. Updated, so it's not old! SWB Restaurant: SWB dinner: (2 stars): our waitress was horrible. All staff that day were horrible. My scallops had a piece of shell in it and all I got was "Aw I'm sorry". Waited over 45 min for our entrees to come out. They told us to stack the high chairs- is that even safe? Please check the company you are using to see if that's safe for kids. They can't modify food cause it's pre-made. You can see more of this review on the SWB Yelp page. SWB breakfast buffet (3.5 stars): Good variety. Our server was WAY better. I think her name was Kristine. I wish she was our waitress the night before. I'd do the buffet again since it's convenient. Free Entertainment Bird show (4 stars) American Indian dancing (5 stars) Pool: The main pool area does get crowded but they have smaller pools to the side that were empty. The sand area is great for little kids since it's shallow! All clean and older kids loved the water slide. Hotel Grounds: Had nice grass areas for kids to run around and explore. Self parking: Easy, not a far walk from parking lot. Overall great hotel for families! Located near a major shopping center so I recommend eating there instead of at the hotel.

The staff was good, housekeeping was good, food was ok, however the overall hotel outside was not so good. I understand it's super hot, however the outside grounds were really dirty. The chairs were beat to hell, bird poo all over the ground, leaves laying around. Not the big of a deal, unless you're getting married there and want the area to pretty. We went there from a Saturday-Tuesday. It was extremely hot, which is ok for me. This was the reason why we went to this hotel to enjoy the heat and for my daughter to play in the pool. Tons of kids and parents in the pool, which was fun. Most of the kids never came out of the pool for hours - to be expected right. However the draw back was the entire time we stayed there I never saw pool service. We went to the pool every day at 8:30am, so I thought maybe the came at night. Nope, I saw the same paper, dirt and yellow stuff in the corners of the pool day after day. With that many kids and parents in the pool you would think you would do some major cleaning daily in a resort pool. I was a bit grossed out. If you're going to this hotel for a conference, that's great. However, if you're going there to swim in the kids pool be prepared to swim in a dirty pool.

Was excited to go to a nice hotel for 3 nights!! $3400 later what a disappointment. The sheets and comforter are so 'noisy' every time you move you are awakened by your bed. $70 Room service(2 burgers/no drinks, asked for water got nothing) arrives in paper boxes w plastic cutlery. Day 2, no towels at pool. Sorry come back in 20 min. Order sushi from hotel kiosk. Walk to pickup. Wait 25 min longer then expected. Get back to room w sushi and no napkins/cutlery nothing!!! Try eat poke w your fingers. Ridiculous. Super dissatisfied Hyatt!!!

This Hyatt uses 3rd party booking agencies that do not allow refund or date changes. If you miss click on cancel, your money is gone! It is such a devious business scam. NEVER come here until management starts doing honest business. Will be reporting this business!

A decent mid-high tier resort hotel. The room was well appointed with all the requisite amenities. The 60" TV was a standout among same tier hotels. We found the pillows to be a little uncomfortable. The soft ones were quite lumpy and the firm ones were as hard as bricks. As with many large resorts in Scottsdale, there often conferences held here and can get a little noisy and crowded at times. This was the case for our stay. While we asked for a room away from all the conference activities, we were awakened each morning at 5:00AM by the ruckus in the courtyard below as the staff set up breakfast stations and tables for the conferences. Our room included breakfast in the cafe, which was served a la carte. The quality of the food was adequate.

Had a conference here for three days. I was impressed with the facilities and service. The place is very large. Servers are pleasant and always a available. Never a dirty plate lingered, in the conference room or at meals. The food was really good too. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, receptions, and snacks were some of the best I experienced at a conference. And it was indicative of the place and flavorful. They set up lots of heat lamps for our outdoor events. Unfortunately, the hotel was sold out so had to stay somewhere else. Their cutoff time for the room and special rate seemed far in advance. I would welcome another event here.

Love this place! Used to come here in my younger days! A lot of changes but still a great experience. Came to celebrate my wife's Birthday , this is where we had our second date with drinks and listening to Esteban! The room, the service is still top notch! Just wish the bars and restaurants opened up before 3 or 4 pm, especially on a Friday night. Anyway, you can't ever go wrong at Gainey Ranch!!!

The staff purposely charged me more than other people That booked at the last minute without going through a group reservation Manager was zero help and just kept using bullshit to justify the unfair rates I will never stay here again !!!

We decided to book a cabana for the day, so glad we did! We checked in at the Concierge's Desk, ( a little before 10am) the gal ( did not get her name ) was extremely friendly and answered all of our questions. We had the cabana from 9:30am -5pm. Food service doesn't start until 11am. You get complimentary fruit plate, chips with salsa and guacamole. They provide towels, Tv, misters, and 2 lounge chairs. We want to give a great thanks to Mitch at the pool area. He was attentive had a great attitude and did a great job. We had so much fun! My 3 year old LOVED the sand beach pool area. Forgot sand toys? No worries, there is a chest full of sand items you can use. When we where on our way home my daughter stated, " I want to go again tomorrow." We definitely will be back! Keep up the great work everyone!

My wife and I went here for a Holiday work party and spent four days here. The entranceway and landscaping is absolutely spectacular. The lobby is equally enticing. When we went to check in the workers were top-notch and accommodating. They were very helpful getting our luggage up to our room and they even accommodated us with a different room with no problems. Our room was not bad but not great. It had a musty and sour kind of smell, and the carpets I feel could've used a shampooing. The south west bistro restaurant was a nice place for breakfast and had a nice variety of breakfast choices. They really had a nice dark roast coffee, which was a nice surprise. The servers were very polite and helpful. It was a very nicely decorated restaurant. I will definitely come back to this place again.
