We really enjoyed our stay at Hyatt Regency Sofia. I would absolutely stay here again. This hotel knows what it’s doing. Of note, the lounge, the gym/spa, and the breakfast were all superb. ||Delightful check-in and check-out experience, both with Daria. She was friendly, explained all the hotel amenities, reviewed our rate, asked if we had any questions, etc. Good job.||The lounge staff person was super nice and very helpful. The lounge food was above average compared to other Europe hotel lounges in this price range, with many different menu items offered throughout the week. It also seemed the culinary team used some clever imagination to change what could have been a ho-hum salad, for example, into something cool. Good job lounge team!!||The gym and spa area are quite good; plenty of gym equipment and weight options. The sauna, salt room, and indoor pool match what’s posted at the website. Nice!||The breakfast buffet was very good with a wide variety of hot dishes, pastries, yogurts, etc. We especially liked the “Bulgaria” table with items such as “Banista.” A great idea and much appreciated. See attached photo of “matcha waffle.” Again, culinary team does a great job here. Vlad in the restaurant was friendly and professionally attentive. ||The room was perfectly fine. . .plenty of photos already on this forum, so I’ll leave it at that.||Recommendations for management: ||- The cigarette smoke from the lounge balcony area fills up the rest of the indoor lounge if the doors are propped open. I recommend always closing the balcony doors for the sake of the non-smokers inside.||- I recommend paying more attention to common area cleaning. The same bits of refuse were in our hallway over several days. . .the room interior cleaning was acceptable; I simply recommend vacuuming the hallways much more often.
