Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa

Location was amazing, close proximity to the beach, with free chair and towel rentals included with staying at the hotel. The pool was clean and always had lounge chairs available. Walking distance to many attractions, close to Diamondhead, and the views from the room were amazing! I did yoga at the spa one day and that was incredible. The staff were all very friendly and courteous, check in and check out process were smooth. We loved our stay here and would definitely return again in the future.

We have stayed at this resort numerous times for vacation, it's infront of waikiki beach and walkable to the restaurants and shops. Front desk was helpful and check in as globalist is fast. Rooms are dated but clean, carpet needs to be changed, elevators works great and updated. Housekeeping does a great job and valet are on the spot. Lounge breakfast is great and overall service as well. You can borrow beach chairs, sand toys, boogie boards, towels for beach use. They also activities such hula, ukulele, etc. Parking fee is steep $45 night but included with award stay. Pool is okay, large jacuzzi which can get crowded, they have live music at night by the bar. And Farmers market on monday night. Overall great for family vacation!

This place was beautiful and service is amazing! But oh my goodness this place is just SO loud, someone moving their suitcase upstairs is like an earthquake on the lower floors. The first night I was on the 7th floor and I could hear every little sound. As well as club music playing until 10 PM. Management was so sweet and decided to upgrade me to a higher floor but the problem of noise still continues albeit less than before. It almost seems as if the walls are paper, because why is my entire room shaking and a huge earthquake like sound happening at 1 am? But again, service is incredible, location is incredible, if it wasnt for this hotels amazing workers I would have given a 2 star..

We had a great stay at Hyatt Regency Waikiki. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the Guest of Honor status was a nice perk, especially the free parking. Valet service was smooth—just be sure to call about 15–20 minutes ahead. The rooms and pool were nice, and the location is excellent with so many food options nearby, all within walking distance. We did have club access for breakfast and evening snacks/desserts, which could be improved in terms of cleanliness and how well it was stocked. Late checkout wasn’t provided despite the Guest of Honor status, but overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

James at the front desk truly made our stay unforgettable. We had a few unfortunate issues during our visit, but the way he handled everything completely changed our experience. His kindness, sincerity, and attention made us forget all the inconveniences we had faced. He didn’t just solve problems, he genuinely cared about how we felt. I’ve stayed at many hotels, but I’ve honestly never met a front desk staff member like him. Professional, warm, thoughtful, and incredibly dedicated to guests. Because of James, our trip to Hawaii became a happy memory rather than a stressful one. Hyatt is lucky to have him.

This review should be 4+ stars, but It just doesn’t feel like a 4 star review place. I would love to come back here in a few years after a remodel. For the cost of the nightly stay on Waikīkī I expected more. The service was very good. Not a single complaint about the staff, or their helpfulness. On our second night the light in the restroom went out. Making it impossible to take a shower with the door closed. On our third night one entire wall lost power, including the TV, Fridge, half of our lamps and anything plugged into the wall to charge. Both times maintenance fixed the issue very quickly. Every kids/game amenity was broken in one way or another. Not a huge deal, unless you get stuck at the resort. We had regency club access though status. Overall this amenity was over sold, and extremely crowded every morning and evening. As advertised the breakfast, thought limited, included a handful of modest hot food options, as well as the standard continental options. However there was little room inside, and only a handful of covered tables outside. We were never able to get a table Indoors. Not usually a big deal in Hawaii, unfortunately, it rained 3 days on our trip. Our room also had a lovely view of the new Hilton tower under construction. No alarm clock needed. Noise maker recommended if you’d like to sleep in past 6am on your vacation. (On the plus side less people at breakfast)

Our stay at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The location alone is a huge win—right across the street from Waikiki Beach and perfectly positioned on Kalakaua Avenue right across from Duke’s statue and putting you steps away from shopping, dining, and all the energy of Waikiki. You truly can’t beat it. What really elevated the experience was the staff. Every interaction was warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful—they went out of their way to make sure we felt welcome and taken care of. The Hyatt Regency Club was a standout and 100% worth the upgrade. The daily food selections were impressive, fresh, and delicious, with great variety each day. It was the perfect place to relax, enjoy a great meal, and unwind while taking in the views. This hotel delivers on every level: prime location, exceptional service, and excellent amenities. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Waikiki—we can’t wait to return!

An oldie but a goodie! Considering when this hotel was built it is always being maintained and looking immaculate. When I was there they were painting the tower in the middle so they are always improving and maintaining the building. Steps away from the beach and restaurants, it’s the perfect location to stay in Waikiki. Seafood buffet is amazing, so much steamed crab. It was so good! Shops and restaurants downstairs are really convenient as well. Only draw back is that the elevators get busy, but honestly what can you do about that, plus you are in Hawaii, what’s the rush! Front desk agents are very accommodating and take great care with every check in.

Stayed for 4 nights with my two girls. Unfortunately we got a view of the hotel Nextdoor/ constructions in the back The guy that checked us in late Thursday night was very helpful and made it quick so we could rest. Pool area is small but the girls still had fun. Had some drinks by the pool (Mai tais) which were yummy We had free breakfast but only used this 2x It was good and basic breakfast

Elevators are ridiculously slow. You're looking at over 30 minutes total elevator waiting time every day if you need to go up and down more than once, and 50% more if you need accessible access (e.g. with stroller or wheelchair). I spent a lot of time, money, efforts, and PTO in exchange for precious vacation time at Hawaii. I'd rather spend it at the beach than in the elevator lines. In Diamond tower, there're exactly 4 elevators servicing floors 2 through 40, and that includes busy activity floors with restaurants, pool, convenience store, and spa. The average wait time is 5-10 minutes regardless of which floor you're at and which direction you're going. Furthermore, there's a separate elevator between floor 1 and 2, and it's at the far side from the Diamond tower. If you have a stroller, this specific elevator is the only option to go between floor 1 and 2. To make things worse, the elevator button to do down would get cancelled automatically and wouldn't be registered sometimes. We're on the 8th floor and for once we had to go up till 29th before being able to go down. The room was much larger than expected, but looked aged. The bathroom handle would make a harsh noise when pushed. The sink is outside the bathroom which makes it disturbing to use when everyone else is sleeping. The AC noise was also very loud. They also don't have a good restaurant. We tried their breakfast buffet, and it was way too overpriced and even explicitly demanded 17-20% tipping (yes, that much tip for a buffet). The food was mediocre at best. It costed $105 after tax and tips for two adults. We decided not to try their dinner buffet after this experience. The Kai coffee on the first floor was OK but also overpriced. I'd rather walk 5 minutes to Kai Fresh at Princess Kaiulani Hotel. The pool was also OK but not great. It was small and always dirty on one side. And they have a strange towel policy that it claims to track your borrowed towels and they must be returned by midnight every day, otherwise there will be $25 charge per towel. I don't know how it is implemented but it adds more hassle to the stay especially considering how frustrating the elevators are. There're many good things about this hotel. Like most other businesses in Hawaii, all the staff were very friendly. The beach is right across a street. It's located a the central of Waikiki and is close to many businesses. The room is adequately large. But the elevator issue is a dealbreaker, and we won't stay here again.

I came out to Honolulu for my wedding and booked at the Hyatt Regency with my fiancé, friends, and family. We had multiple family members and friends book there and to be honest spent way too much money there. All for the ridiculous security guard to profile and harass my fiancé. My Fiancé was waiting outside for me, by the valet, and that was a problem for some reason. This is extremely rude female security guard was hovering over him telling him he cant stay there and had to leave. He had to show his room key, proof of stay, and had to show this lady his phone with the texts saying I'm on the way. All mot good enough She proceeded to stand on top of him until I arrived. I informed multiple staff members from valet, to other security guards, to check out and nothing to remedy the embarrassing situation. Apparently they think it's ok to treat their guests that way. Will never return and never stay at that hotel again and make sure to tell everyone i know never to stay there too. Appalling customer service Not to mention parking is a nightmare, they only have one working elevator for the next five months! I highly recommend staying elsewhere

First full day of our stay was met with a worker strike that rendered all my globalist benefits moot. Limited staffing turned everything into a nightmare. Tiny pool, and limited shaded areas if you didn't want to "get a team". Just going downstairs was a whole ordeal in itself., "EVERY" single time you wanted to go downstairs you had to wait at least 10 minutes (not even exaggerating). The button to go down had to be repeatedly pushed because it would not stay on. You could hear the elevator running but it would always bypass our floor. We ended up falling the system by pushing the up button and jumping on and going "UP" to go down.

After all that, I went back to the Hyatt Regency. I've had two kids since my first review, and I liked the place better this time around. It's still not a particularly nice hotel, but we had a pleasant four-night stay. We went with my parents, my brother, and his family, and met up with some friends and family visiting from Korea. The Los Angeles contingent got three rooms on the 14th floor--none of them adjacent, as requested, but close enough that my parents could watch our kids on the baby monitor after bedtime, freeing us to go out for mai tais. The rooms were fine, clean and spacious enough, and we had a great view of the water and Waikiki (also wedding music every night that ended at a reasonable hour). The hotel provided a crib for our two-year-old. His brother slept on the chaise lounge, which was perfectly bed-like for a four-year-old. The kids insisted on sleeping right next to each other and goofed off every night and every morning. They also wanted to play on the balcony, which was probably safe, but no thank you. My mother is a Hyatt Globalist, so we all got access to the lounge, where we met up for a casual breakfast before starting each day. Basic food options, but good for the kids, who loaded up on store-bought mini croissants and bagels. There were also tons of shops and eateries around, including two ABC Stores on the hotel premises. My four-year-old got chocolate gelato at the Il Gelato cart we had to pass on our way to the elevators. The Hyatt Regency is right across from the beach, and my husband and I spent the mornings there with our kids. We went to the pool to check out beach chairs, included in the hotel resort fee, and while we didn't use the pool this trip, I was gratified to see that it was in fact useable. (This was an improvement from our first visit, when every lounge chair was claimed by a towel or magazine, even while the pool was mostly empty.) We got towels through a machine accessible with our key card. It was hard to mobilize our whole family, so we spent most of our trip within walking distance of the Hyatt Regency. I appreciated the central location and proximity to the beach, where my children had an absolute blast. When we wanted to roll out, valet service was friendly and reasonably fast. The hotel was otherwise pretty low service, but I didn't feel like we missed out. This is not the place I would choose for a child-free getaway, but it worked well for a family trip, especially with Globalist Grandma in the house.

having worked here decades ago we decided to have a staycation here. We love the hotel room it was clean, the AC cold, and had great amenities which included a toothbrush and toothpaste. And let's not forget the bidet. And yes, the major complaint is the parking. you have to go up several floors for self parking and it is extremely narrow. You could see lots of skidmarks and there was a car that literally hit another one that we missed earlier. Our room literally was next to the elevator however I did not hear it often. Maybe because we were on the 30th floor. There's also an icemaker that has a water spicket next to it. However, there are lots of vendors, spectacular view ofWaikiki, an open market on certain days, as well as other activities a tourist could engage in such as lei making and yoga.

Not a 4 star hotel. Rooms are basic, old furniture, bathroom in desperate need of renovation, especially the bathtubs wow! Upside of the room is the built in washlet. There was also construction happening right next door which isn't the hotel's fault but still woke us up daily. Breakfast buffet is terrible!! Skip it, food was not fresh at all. The pool was small and old. Seemed a bit unclean and didn't provide the same amenities or aesthetic I've experienced at similarly priced resorts in the same area. The hotel is located in an outdoor mall with food options so if you like shopping there's a plus side. Overall, my expectation was much higher for the price tag. It's not worth staying here, you can get much more value for your money elsewhere.

Okay . The location is PERFECT ! Everything is walking distance . Tons of restaurants. My Room ( diamond tower ) was clean . Quiet . The restroom is clean . NOW the only negative I will give this place would be the ELEVATORS . Everyday theirs a long line ... all day. ONLY 1 works ! It's a hotbox inside the elevator. NO A/C ! Tiny elevator ! It was the worst part , coming in and out ! And to make top it off the workers are ON STRIKE ! No room service ! Besides that , it's a good location

I love Hyatt in general but upon going into our room in our 12th floor there's construction outside in the city side. Who wants to listen to that during their vacay? No one! Called guest services earlier to see if we can change rooms or even upgrade but none available and that construction is business hours. How annoying! Lol! The upside for the 1 star is the shopping around the hotel, the food, walking distance to many shops and food places, and several ABC stores nearby. Edit: 03/01/2024it's 720am and construction is happening at this time. 03/02/2024 woke up at 8am and there's still construction happening on a Saturday

This is my third time staying here, I actually prefer this hotel over some of the others in Waikiki. I like that it's central to everything and across the street from the beach. The rooms are spacious and clean, though the walls can be kinda thin, so hopefully you don't get a room next to noisy neighbors. The pool area is nice, it's not a big pool but good enough to wade in the water if that's what you need. I didn't eat in the hotel, but I love that there are so many food options that are within walking distance. I actually had a plate lunch that I needed to reheat and the front desk was able to send me a microwave- yay for great customer service! Also, it helps that the ABC store is in the hotel (there's 3 of them). Such a convenience when you need last minutes items. If I come back to the islands, I'll probably come back to this place. Alohaz!

Very nice hotel(s), common to see families here. Cool pool and poolside food and bar. Quite expensive, but lives up to the price somewhat well (for the area). View from the rooms ranges from amazing beachside, to ok city view. Staff have always been friendly. Rooms are ok and maybe a little dated. We come here about once a year during the summer, and would not be surprised if this trend continues.

Very nice option across the street from the Duke statue and beach. Close to lots of restaurants. Very nice rooms. Not all overlook the water depending on floor. Maybe the higher floors do? Nice receptionist efforts and cleaning. Didn't try the buffet. $30 Uber ride and $55 for taxi from airport. Location, location, location.

Grateful for early check-in and was thanked for our loyalty/status. We were upgraded to an oceanfront room: barebones minimal decor inside the room but fantastic view (room 1562). The hotel is kinda tired: needs a lift and refresh, the elevators are slowww and shower pressure is not that strong. Love the comp beach bag, Hyatt tumblers and warm toilet seat/bidet lol! Also love that we can borrow beach chairs. So convenient! The location is unbeatable: Waikiki Beach is right there - steps away. There are several restaurants, shops, cafes, surf lessons, at least 3 ABC stores open till late within the hotel, hop on hop off trolley across the street, food trucks behind the building. $79 per adult seafood and Korean bbq buffet on the 3rd floor with live music. $30 Uber from the airport (taxi is around $50++) Special thanks to Kealoha and Michelle at the 3rd floor Regency Club who assisted with a smile everyday at breakfast. Love the 24/7 refreshments at the Regency Club including appetizers and desserts from 5-9pm. We left a jacket inside the closet when we checked out and picked it up several hours later at front desk. Thank you to Michelle our room steward for clean, fluffy and warm towels daily. We had a great time! We will surely return!

This review is for the parking garage. It's the worst design of parking garage I've ever been to. It's a separate building across the street from the Hyatt hotel. The first several floors are valet only. So you're forced to drive many floors up. The lanes are very narrow and so are the parking spaces. You should go slow and be very cautious in case another vehicle approaches going in the opposite direction. There are mirrors to assist you, but be careful. I do not recommend self-park. Do valet if you don't mind paying extra if you must go to the Hyatt. However, the view is beautiful. The photos I've posted for this review are from the top floor of the parking garage.

This is a great hotel! Location is amazing. Literally steps away from Waikiki beach. Close to everything with beautiful views of the ocean! Room was very roomy, well-appointed, clean and comfy. The complimentary drink tumblers and reusable tote bags were an impressive touch. There's a cute coffee place downstairs and a quick service breakfast sandwich and juice place that was so convenient. Also, complimentary self-serve beach towels were so helpful. Minus one star only for the elevators and parking. Lots of people have mentioned the elevators already and yes, they do take forever. Just be as patient as you can, you're in Hawaii! If you need to park a car, good luck! They have a parking structure across the street with the narrowest, one-way-ish ramps that is sure to test your anxiety. But despite those 2 things, this is overall a great choice for a Waikiki stay!

Stayed here for 5 nights and had a nice stay. Made the reservation on Hotwire and paid $250 a night instead of the $400+ a night had we booked at the hotel website. With the discount comes a standard room with two beds on a low floor (room 608 in the Ewa tower). Hotel has two towers with rooms, 40 floors on each tower. The lobby is located on the 2nd floor and the pool, fitness center, and restaurants are on the 3rd floor. Fitness center is nice and has all the equipment you could want for a good workout. The pool is VERY SMALL and does not have a resort feel to it. Afternoons are crowded. The hotel has massive retail area with 3 ABC convenience stores (the 3rd is on the 3rd floor by the pool) and just about every kind of store you could think of. It is disappointing they didn't plan this better for a resort pool and kids pool. Bedrooms are huge and mattress was nice but not great. Hotel provided a coconut mango lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. House keeping did a great job too. The $55 a night resort fee is a joke, but all the hotels do it so I won't go into this issue. Overall we had a nice stay. The hotel was worth $250 a night but no way I would pay $400+ to stay here!

I am writing this review to let everyone know the ordeal we have dealt with. I am here on vacation in Hawaii with my husband, our 8 month old baby, my sister, and my brother in law. We are stayed at the Hyatt hotel from Jan 11-16 ,2025 Where do I start? Ever since the first day we got here we have had issues with our lock on our door and our card. They attempted fixing the doors for 2 days before finally they put us in a new room. The manager was not very accommodating and only refunded us our hotel fees. On January 13th we had bought food and were planning to head to the beach but we spent a bunch of time in the lobby because we got locked out of our room because the door wouldn't open. The amount of money and points that we spent at this hotel I would have expected better customer service. 0/10 do not recommend I expected better from you Hyatt.

My husband and I stay here every time we're in Oahu. First of all, we just love how it's right by the beach so we could just walk around and not even worry about renting a car sometimes. The rooms are clean enough though they can use an upgrade. We love the brand of shampoo/conditioner/body wash they provide, which is from the hotel spa. I wish I could buy it for home use! Whenever we go here and we have to work during the day, there's a coffee shop in the ground floor called Kai Coffee. We usually get the Kai Latte, which is the macadamia nut latte!

It's only day 4, 4 more days to go ;) I decided to leave a review now because I could not wait to let the world know how A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. the staff is!! We booked an ocean-front room. I wasn't satisfied with the room view and asked for a new room 2x. I wasn't trying to be difficult, I just wanted to treat myself as I'm celebrating my 50th and also my son's 16th bday. They did not disappoint with the new room!!! Grace at the front desk was soooo patient with me! She never showed any attitude towards me, no annoyance or anything!! Thank you, Grace!! I'm very, very happy with the new room! Yesterday was my birthday. We were waiting for the elevator when one of the staff, Cres, said hello to us and I mentioned that we're going to meet my oldest son and family for dinner for my bday. When we went back to our room later that night, there was a box of macadamia nuts and a birthday greeting on my bed! That was a great surprise! Very thoughtful! Thank you, Cres!! Thank you for making my 50th a memorable one!!

We were so excited when we got here because this hotel is in the BEST location. I'm just going to do some pros and cons, because we started off pretty excited and things sort of unraveled as the trip went on. Cons: Our AC was broken in our room for 4 of our 6 day trip. It took calling 4 different times and going down to the front desk for someone to come check it out. The elevators were actually the bane of my existence I took this video one day. It was not uncommon to wait 15 minutes for an elevator- sometimes just by ourselves on our room floor. Other guests would joke about this with us- it was a universal experience. It was crazy! Parking Parking in Waikiki is hard. You pay for every day you need parking but what they don't tell you is when they host events (weddings, conferences) at times those people are parking in the same parking garage, it will fill up, and you will have to park somewhere else. This happened to us a few times. The first time the gentleman told us that we would only be charged if we parked there (Not true. The front desk explained we were charged from the beginning in full). When I explained this to him he said no, we can park somewhere else and not be charged. (The front desk ended up to waiving the days we didn't park there) He also said we could park somewhere else for only $35/day and gave us a paper with directions on how to get there. We ended up being charged $100 for being there- come to find out later he was supposed to also give us a ticket to get the cheaper parking. It was just a mess and a real pain point in our trip! I believe we were only able to park in the parking garage 3 days of our trip. Pros: Great location. Right next to an amazing beach, tons of restaurants, and just in a great area. Amenities are awesome. I was really impressed with the gym, they even have a Peleton! The pool was also really nice. The hotel is also gorgeous. So many great views and just beautiful. They also have free beach chairs and towels for you to take to the beach- which was nice!

I like this hotel, although in early 2024 there was major construction ocurring off-site in February that was out of the hotel's control which caused the majority of the hotel occupants a weekday morning through working hours construction disruption due to the noise. The campus and proximity to the beach and local retail area is great The one big knock and it's an antiquated design of the self parking garage that is hard to maneuver with tight corners and small spaces. I feel the hotel should go 100% gratis valet parking and bale the rate / fee / revenue of parking into the lodging rate so not appear petty and always upselling. The rooms are nice. The facility probably needs more dining options inside, but there are plenty of outside sources for food in Hawaii.

This hotel is perfect for couples honeymooning or even for families. Magnificent views of Waikiki Beach from our balcony. Perks: - Resort Fee Includes: Free activities for the week Free frozen fruit & popsicles at the poolside FREE 24/7 GYM COMPLIMENTARY Hyatt Regency plastic water bottles (clear blue) to be refilled throughout the hotel, there's a FILTERED WATER station conveniently located on 3rd Floor, rather than re-filling water bottles at the ice machine of every floor. Hyatt Regency Waikiki Hotel service is impeccable!! Guest services was very helpful when we had to file a complaint to the F&B manager re: the raw hamburgers we had ordered at SWIM Restaurant & Bar. ALSO, our fries were quite salty despite asking for them to be re-done. Overall, it took over 40 mins to get our order to go a Swim Restaurant & Bar. They charge $4 for IF you wanted onions for your burgers and on top of that they CHARGE a fee for take- out. ** Make sure to grab some FROZEN fruit & popsicles at the poolside desk. The poolside is such an AMAZING place to relax, there's a jacuzzi as well. There is LIVE music entertainment being played nightly! As for housekeeping, today ( Sept. 18, 2023) Gemma is such a kind housekeeper who was so happy to have given us MORE mini shampoo bottles. I felt embarrassed asking for more, but had told her that we have four people staying in our hotel room.

We've stayed here three times and I can confidently say that his is one of my favorite hotels and the only hotel I will stay at if I visit Oahu. The oceans view from here is GORGEOUS. It's honestly such a vibe just being able to sit on the balcony and watch the ocean. It is also literally right across the street from Waikiki beach which is super convenient. The location is also super central to anything you'd need or want to visit. There's 2 ABC stores, one on each entrance too! And it's on the same street as the famous musubi spot which allows for convenient snacking :D The staff is so kind, they allow you to text them any requests and they always respond super fast. I forgot to pack slippers and had to hem my pants last minute and they brought up slippers & a sewing kit within 10 minutes of me texting them. The toilets here are all toto bidets, they're heated, there's a water spray and even a dryer! On some evenings, there's a little farmers market right on the bottom floor of the hotel too.

The staff and service here is great everyone is so nice! They expedited my room cleaning and I was able to check in early. Location wise this hotel is great in between great foods and one small cross the street to the beach. They have kiosk so you can check in and out towels. They offer many free rentals including in your resort fee like kids beach toys, beach chair rentals, and floaties. The room I stayed in was huge the largest I have ever stayed in my life. The room had a balcony, mini fridge, safe, little couch, blow dryer, iron and iron board, flash light, all the basic essentials. The restroom was so convenient there was line to hang hand washed clothes. They even offer a microwave and kettle if you need it. The only have a few bones I have to pick first is that there are not enough elevators for all the hotel guest. I had to wait for the elevators all the time. Also the air conditioning in the room was so weak I was sweating all the time. The mini fridge was also a bit too small and since it was clear my toddler kept trying to take stuff out of it.

Located across the street from the beach and in the hustle bustle of Waikiki, so pretty convenient. Rooms are outdated, but not yet to a state of disrepair. We had a city view that was okay. Parking is pricy, but thankfully it was free because of my point's redemption and Globalist status. Regency Club is okay. Limited seating inside that was usually full. Outdoor seating was plentiful, but there's some kind of wind tunnel effect that makes it quite windy. And the birds are aggressive. Yoga was interesting. The instructor was technically late to the class, but you'll find a bunch of confused people looking for yoga so you'll know you're in the right place. Elevators are super slow. We tried taking the stairs, but it doesn't go through all the floors of the hotel (at least not in the Ewa tower). You can get down to the 4th or 5th floor, but then have to exit to street level. Overall, an okay stay.

We enjoyed our stay here, we were assigned the Diamond Head tower 28th floor partial ocean view. The room is very large. Bed and pillow was comfortable. Wi-Fi was very fast and reliable. The escalator near main check in was not working, so you have to use the stairs, also, the elevators drop you off at the 2nd floor, not the 1st floor, you will need to use the stairs to get to the elevators. The location was great, central in Waikiki, easy to walk to many choices of restaurants to eat. You can catch the Trolly in front of the hotel, or the bus just a short block away from the back of the hotel. The pool can be crowded, but on the days we used it, we lucked out and it was not busy. They have lots of activities scheduled during the week, the Free Friday Luau type show was good. I'm a light sleeper, I got pretty good rest here, I rarely heard any noise from other hotel guess except for the loud slamming of the doors, which is usual for most hotels anyways. They do have a heated toilet seat which was weird at first, but kinda liked it after a few days, lol. The Hyatt was above my price point for hotels, but we splurged on staying here, overall, it was nice being in Hawaii for 10 days. Mahalo

AFFORDABLE & SO CLOSE TO THE BEACH! This Hyatt is legit. Waikiki is a bigger strip of beach than you'd think and not all of it is good! The beach access from the Hyatt is PRIME! THE TOILETS - YEP THE TOILETS! I have never used a bidet toilet before. These toilets are remote controlled! They are heated and the water spray is heated and there is even a dryer!!! I don't know how I'm gonna go back to real life.... :)

All Hyatts to me are pretty consistent with cleanliness and service, this location is no different, which is the reason why I have a membership/card with them. Even though I used my rewards for my stay, including the club lounge, I checked the pricing and I don't think it's worth $700/night. There are plenty of other locations and/or trips (like Cancun or Cabo) that are all inclusive and it's priced lower. I'd say it's worth it to experience but probably not a regular visit depending on your budget.

Definitely not the same quality as other Hyatt regency locations. To start off parking is 55$ and it is a very tiny garage that curves at least 5 stories of valet before being able to park. Overall the hotel is located in a very busy area. It'd be better not to have a car. The elevator was broken and we waited more than 15 minutes at one point for both the hotel and the garage. It's very loud, walks are thin. Bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. It is very crowded and not very relaxing compared to other islands.

I enjoyed our stay this week in Hawaii with our family. We enjoyed the local eateries and walkable entertainment centers. However, our check in experience was not very pleasant as the lady helping us was rude and talked over us whenever we had a question. It's as though she may get the question asked often or was just irritated that we didn't just provide our credit card, accept keys and leave her alone. So that was very unpleasant. Also, the parking is absolutely ridiculous. For us, who traveled with a family of 5 and 2 extra family members- 7 of us total- we rented a car to get around and explore around the island. We rented a full size SUV which was very hard to utilize parking structures because of the height, but to charge your guests a daily parking fee of $50+ each night was just completely atrocious. And valet was $70+ / they had the first 5 floors and the rest was shared between guests and public parking. We even had to park offsite and the market place one night. Parking should be included for hotel guests in my opinion and if it's not, the price shouldn't be more than what it costs to fill up a tank of gas for a week. Moving on, the hotel grounds were nice and maintained, the rooms were spacious but outdated a bit (especially the showers) but nothing we couldn't get passed. Our hotel room faced the downtown area and sunset (beautiful) so we were satisfied. Overall our stay was good and comfy.

Beautiful hotel in the middle of Waikiki. Clean, up-to-date. Friendly staff and spacious room accommodations. Definitely recommend and will come back.

Honolulu Chinese Jaycees hosted their 70th anniversary celebration at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort's Legacy Ballroom. You have the option to valet your car or self-park. I chose to self-park. The parking structure itself is tight as Waikiki usual. I noticed that the valets were parking the cars in parking structure anyways, so if you have the time to do so, I would recommend self-parking. Upon arriving to the venue I had my parking stub validated, so make sure you validate your parking before you leave if you're attending an event. The Ballroom itself was nicely sized. If I had to guesstimate there was enough tables to hold about 200 people, which was the about the amount of attendees that night. Night in Macao was the theme that evening, so their was at least 3 casino tables. Drinks: In the back of the room at each corner was a cash bar for drinks. Offering non-alcoholic and alcoholic. I grabbed a lychee cocktail, was pretty good. Food: Here's the list of the buffet catered: Main -Soba Noodle Salad -Asian Greens with Garlic Ginger Sauce -Portobello and Porcini Mushroom Ravioli -Furikake Crusted Salmon -Braised Short Ribs with Ginger Mirin -Shitake Mushrooms Dessert -Creme Brulee -Ube Shots -Tiramisu -Egg Custard There was a dim sum bar as appetizers but by the time I almost got to the bar they already ran out... From the mains, the ravioli, salmon, and short ribs stood out as me getting seconds. All of the desserts were awesome. Overall the night was a success. Contact Hyatt to host your next event!

Love the Hyatt Regency and the Regency Club (Mark and Cary are the best). This year was our 50th wedding anniversary and Alaina made it very special. We stay here every time we come to Hawaii before we head to the MVC at KoOlina. We stay at the at the HR so often that we see people in the Regency Club that we have met before and enjoy visiting with them. Every time there is a parade or special event we can watch it from our balcony. It is close to many fine restaurants. We will be there again in February.

I would definitely recommend this spot all the staff was very accommodating. The room was nice as well had water bottles in the room for refill and filling stations at I believe every floor. Beds were pretty comfortable as well. I had a view of the pool area. Did go to the pool because the beach was right across the street. Food and shopping in walking distance and if you want to rent a car they Have Hertz rent a car on the property as well. The only thing park does get a little inconvenience as it does get really busy in Waikiki. I would definitely stay her again.

Just steps away from the famed Waikiki Beach. Right on the main strip Kalākaua Ave. which has all sorts of different restaurants and shops. I would recommend paying additional fee for valet. The parking garage is extremely tight and narrow. Can be stressful with multiple cars that are coming and going. You really need to be driving out of the corner mirrors that appear at each turn.

Unbeatable location!! Walk out and the beach is right across the street! Walking distance to food and shopping. Spacious rooms and comfortable beds and pillows. Highly recommend staying here!

The 1st day checking-in was not a pleasant experience because the items I requested for 2 beds and quiet room wasn't fulfilled. We got a room right next to the elevator and view from the balcony was a construction site, both really loud. This upset me and talked to Maile at the front desk. She was very professional and helpful. Maile talked to Manager Harriz Navarro, which then proceeded to accommodate my request. Thanks to superb customer service from Maile and Harriz, we will be back.

This is probably the worst hotel in Waikiki. Idk who at the government decided to stay here but they obviously never been to Hawaii. There are better hotels with cheaper rates. The rooms are gross and disgusting, there is zero water pressure, self parking is $50 and you should see this parking lot (you would gasp), and there's so much more!!! Very poor hotel!!! Please don't waste your money staying here!!!!

Beautiful hotel, ocean is about 40 yards away and fast to get there. Has a built in mall, few restaurants, and stores for anything you need for the beach. Rooms were clean. My only wish they had a microwave, and especially a coffee maker. Ice machine on same floor. Only small complaint was weak water flow pressure but we were on top floor so I understand. The police station is across from the hotel. * Major pro tip, rent a car!!! You can do so much more activities. I used yelp to find my breakfast lunch and dinners so ez to find. Be aware garages start at $20.00 per hour.

Staying here as a Globalist vs my Discoverist status seven years ago, really makes a difference from waived resort fees, upgraded room view (from garden view to oceanfront!) and access to the Regency lounge was just fantastic. Having last stayed here for my honeymoon seven years ago, we had to come back and stay here again (we split with this and Hilton Hawaiian Village for the pools and water slides). When we checked in, Chrea, whom we had the pleasure of helping us at front desk was a joy. She exudes such charm and warmth, and was able to help us with our room situation and provided us such good service. The oceanfront room view was just breathtaking. I can just site outside and just watch time pass. What a view. The bidet toilet was a hit for my little girl - love the heated seat! The one knock I do have though with this Hyatt is the street noise - it can be very unbearable plus the loud music from the street performers. Perhaps, as I have seen at other Hyatts, a white noise machine or ear plugs would come in handy. The Regency club well exceeded my expectations and my family. Always good food spread for breakfast and evening food was good too. We just arrived from airport and ate here Saturday night as our meal then went to bed. Always have two hot food entrees, smoked salmon, miso soup for breakfast, and in the evening, soups and two hot food items (one is always noodle dish). And they have POG juice! Yes, the pool here is tiny and freezing!! We made the best out of it, and too bad the hot tub was closed for two days too. Glad we were able to get two beach chairs and bring it across the street to Waikiki Beach. Tip, head to your left to the less wavy part of the ocean - it was the most relaxing and best part of the trip - i mean wow. water is so clear and you can see little fish swim by you. Good number of shops too! From Honolulu Cookie Company, Crazy Shirts, three ABC stores, and Dylan Candy, it was enough, but the International Market Place is next door and has so many restaurants and shops, same with the Royal Hawaiian Center too. Best location for shopping and walking Waikiki. I would come back here again in a heartbeat! But make sure to bring earplugs and white noise machine, the street performers and street noise does get quite loud, even on the 37th Ewa tower!

The view from the Oceanside is absolutely stunning and the only reason I'd return. But the other reviews about the sliding door noise and street noise are true. Didn't bother us much and this was probably the best hotel we had on Oahu. The location is prime if you plan to go to South Waikiki to hang out. There is so much to do just walking along the beach and visiting all the other hotels. You can request beach towels and chairs for free until other hotels in the area. We did have a few issues with the tv pixelating and it seemed like this was a common thing. Shout out to Glenn for fixing this and being the best technician I've ever met in a hotel--lots of Aloha spirit! Check in and elevators were not a problem for us on a week day in October. Our first time doing regency club and we had an absolute blast stocking up on snacks and eating in the club area. Overall, we liked this hotel for the view, regency club, and conscience to Waikiki! It's one crosswalk away!

The lady at front desk was nice. Staff overall seem friendly. The floors felt a little dirty. I know it's a hotel room, a resort... near a beach. Bring flip flops. There were ants... not a lot. Some. The bed is a little below average even by hotel standards. Otherwise the room was fine. It's across from the beach. There's a lot of shops and restaurants nearby. It's definitely got a lock on location. Would I recommend? Absolutely. By and far much better than resorts at Hilton and Marriott. The friendliness alone makes it better.

Great location! Right across the street from Waikiki Beach, in the center of the main strip, easy access to everything Waikiki has to offer. The hotel was clean, the staff was attentive. The elevators were a little slow at busy times but that's going to be everywhere that's crawling with tourists so it really wasn't a big deal to us. We used our "complimentary" (resort fee of $59/day) water bottles everyday, lots of fill stations for those. Also the reusable tote bag, towel stations, and beach chairs made that fee worthwhile. The first floor is a market place that has some great shops and every few days outside vendors set up booths with fresh fruits, juice, Hawaiians trinkets. Overall we had a great experience here, we would definitely book again for our next trip to Oahu.

Wife and I stayed here for a total of four days over two weekends. Rooms are big, but very dated and noisy. The elevator is on one end and always has a line. The pool looks great on the website, but it is pretty small for how many people it supports. We walked to our friends pool at the Sheraton down the street and that pool was massive. You are real close to the beach and shopping so the location is good. For roughly $400 a night with all the fees I won't come back to this Hyatt again.

Central location, directly across from the beach. We had a room on the 25th floor, city view, in the Ewa tower. Our room was a corner room behind the elevator so it was a large curving layout. I was worried about the noise from the elevator, as this has been a problem at a different hotel. No need to worry, didn't notice it. The street noise is a different story. Because this is a central location, there are constant construction noises, emergency vehicles, and nighttime partygoers. It was noisy! The balcony glass doors do not do a great job and you can hear A LOT of noises. Not a good location if you are a light sleeper. The hotel definitely needs to put in better glass to help block out the city noises. As for people complaining about the hotel being outdated, I disagree. Our room was spotless without a cleaning product smell. Carpet was actually nice to walk on and I didn't feel dirty after like most hotel flooring. I stayed at the Embassy Suites after this hotel and that IS an outdated building in need of a face lift. I didn't have a car so can't speak to the parking but their rates are comparable to all hotels in the area after researching so so many. My husband did say it was a very small garage. This hotel is incorporated into a small mall. The "lobby and front desk" is located on the second floor in the middle of the mall. No elevator to get there, no ramp that I could find, just escalators located at either end of the mall. The one closest to valet and ride share drop-off was out of order our whole stay (5 nights) and no one informed us there was another set at the other end so we ended up carrying our luggage to the 2nd floor where the elevators are located.

Travelers, beware! This property probably looked quite amazing at some point, in the past... like in the late 90s, but right now it is very visually outdated, many tacky and worn out aspects... and definitely doesn't fit at all within our normal expectations from a Hyatt Regency branded property. Maybe Hyatt House! But definitely not a Regency! Location is very good, and buildings are in a good condition... but the overall design is just so old and is not aging great. So dated... sad! The parking lot is a huge pain. Why? Well, we were given 2 options: $60 for a full valet parking, or $50 and self park (which we thought was very expensive for a self park). Since we wanted to be flexible and were planning to go hiking really early in the AM, we took the self parking option. Little did we know that the parking was not in the same building as the hotel, and it was a super narrow and difficult to navigate multi level garage where the first 5 floors were exclusively dedicated for valet only- so getting in and out of that garage was energy consuming, it took at least 15-20 minutes and it often required us to stop and backup since two cars couldn't fit in the driveways. Sigh. Beds were very comfortable (which is one of the main reasons we chose Hyatt) but room was ugly, with old, worn out, scratched and stained fake "wood veneer" furniture- but pls note, still very clean. No stench. No dust. At least that! The west tower of this hotel is located right next to an outdoor bar, with extremely loud music, a pretty mediocre live band... so during our entire stay we heard only that overwhelming, terrible, badly performed music, and especially, a very loud drumming... from 5pm to 10pm, nonstop. Very very annoying. If you don't believe me, I have some video and will be happy to forward it to you. I know that's not Hyatt's fault, but we hated our room's orientation because of this scheiissser. Long story short... Very convenient location, clean, comfortable beds, and nice views from the higher floors (I recommend 30 and above)- but some sad issues... mainly, so outdated! Like a 90s Time Machine... how can this be a Regency??? Please, please, please! Could you invest some budget and update this beautifully located hotel in the heart of Waikiki, this finally ushering it into the 21st century?!

My family just wrapped up a great spring break trip and we really enjoyed the Hyatt Regency Waikiki. The location, service and room were all excellent, especially since we were able to get an oceanfront view room. Easy access to Waikiki made for a lot of great memories and it was also a great location to walk around the area later. Truly a great stay through and through, we plan to return for sure on our next visit to Oahu!

The parking structure is 10 stories I think and 1st 6 floors are for Valet ONLY ($70.00 per day, Self Parking is $55) Besides this parking thing, overall the hotel is nice. I have some billing issue after I do online check out, I have no time to wait to talk to front desk, I called hotel from the hotel lobby and talked to Shari (thank you Shari) Shari is very patient and professional and quickly identified my issue and corrected it. I booked the Hyatt Regency Waikiki through Expedia for our 7-night stay. We arrived on a Monday evening around 3:30pm and was pleased to see that there wasn't a long check-in line! Checking in was easy and straight to the point. There are two separate towers at this hotel - the Ewa tower and the Diamond Tower. We were in the Ewa tower which was located right next to an Urban Outfitters. Upon arrival, we ended up valeting the car the first night since it's located on the busy area of Waikiki and the valet staff were very helpful with our luggage and super nice. The next day, we tried to do self-parking but the parking lot across the street was TOOOOO small and had rarely any parking. We had to park on the 11th floor and we got lucky as there was only one spot left. I'm glad that our car was tiny but I couldn't imagine driving a SUV through that parking garage. You're better off spending the $60/night for Valet! TRUST ME, it's so worth it! Tip: make sure to call the valet desk before leaving your hotel room and they'll bring your car up before even coming downstairs. This was so handy for us especially when we were on the go! There are 4 elevators located in both towers - which I might add were a tad bit slow to come back to the ground floor. There was always a long line of guests waiting to use the elevators which was a con for me. Our hotel room was great! It was spacious and had a bunch of closet space and drawers for my family and I to unpack our clothes and items. The beds are very comfortable and the VIEWS were top tier! Our bathroom even had a bidet that had different functions in terms of pressure and pulsating options (lol) and also a dryer. The one thing that weirded me out though was that the toilets were self-heating so it always felt like someones been sitting on our toilet lol. We had daily housekeeping which was AMAZING since we spent every single day at the beach and needed to replenish our towel stash and our bathroom cleaned from all the sand. The housekeeping staff were soooo sweet and accommodating whenever we asked for extra towels and shampoo/conditioner. If you're feeling up to it, make sure you tip them! We really appreciated the daily housekeeping. This hotel is HUGE and has an ABC store on the ground floor along with a few other shops and a coffee shop (Kai Coffee), the Kai drink (Macadamia Nut Latte) is delicious. On Mondays and Wednesdays, they have a farmers market from 4-8pm in the lobby area which offers nice fruit and little jewelry stands! One of the biggest cons for me though was the pool! Oh my goodness, the fact that the hotel charges $50/day as the resort fee, yet you get a SUPER SMALL POOL that's INFESTED with children is insane to me. The pool is so tiny and even the jacuzzi gets swarmed with kids and their little floaties. I wish that this hotel had either an adult only pool or a bigger pool because this felt like a rip off and we couldn't even use the pool as much as we wanted to. They let you borrow beach chairs and beach towels if you decide to walk over to the beach which is nice but I wish that the resort fee was optional lol. We were able to do express check out which was nice but be sure to double check your receipt! They almost charged me an extra $300. I had to go to the front desk to ask and then they said it was their mistake but wondered if they would have reversed it if I didn't say anything. All in all, this hotel was an alright stay but will probably be the last time I stay here. The location is very convenient if all you're doing is walking over to Waikiki beach. PROS: - Location is right next to the International Market Place, tons of good food places and across the street from Waikiki beach. - Daily Housekeeping - Bidet - Valet staff! They are so nice - The views from our room - Restaurant and bar located right next to the pool - yummy drinks! - 24/7 fitness area even though I never used it lol but looked nice! CONS: - Small pool - Long elevator wait times - The lobby area is a tad outdated - Self-parking garage is SO tiny - Valet driveway can get busy and crowded. Too small for this size of hotel - Self-heated toilet lol - Daily resort fee (not worth it) - NOISY at night! You can hear everything from downstairs and neighbors. I had to sleep with headphones on at night
