Visited Hydrodash Singapore on 11 January 2026 at around 11:00 AM and had a genuinely concerning experience that raised serious safety issues.
From the start, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming, and staff engagement appeared routine rather than guest-focused. The most alarming issue was the conduct of two lifeguards stationed at the floating platform. Despite clear and visible signs that my partner and I were struggling to exit the water, no assistance was rendered at all. For a facility that relies heavily on active supervision, this lack of response is troubling.
The floating platform itself was poorly maintained. There was a noticeable buildup of algae and dirt, making the surface extremely slippery. The platform was narrow, sharp in certain areas, and lacked sufficient handle grips to allow guests to climb back onboard safely after falling into the water. These conditions significantly increase the risk of injury, which unfortunately did occur. We ended the session and returned to shore in less than 15 minutes due to safety concerns.
While risks may be mentioned in disclaimers, basic maintenance and attentive lifeguard response should never be optional. In this respect, the experience fell well below reasonable expectations.
The only positive aspect was Nick, who went out of his way to render first aid and remained courteous despite the situation. His professionalism stood out in an otherwise disappointing experience.
Hydrodash has potential, but safety standards, maintenance practices, and staff attentiveness clearly need improvement. Until these issues are addressed, I would strongly caution others — especially less confident swimmers — to think carefully before visiting.
