Hydronauts Diving Resort

Staff were exceptional! So kind and helpful! Location, the best! Calm pocket of the island, right on the beach. Pool not always available for various reasons. Plumbing does need some attention, but not too disturbing. Mattress was typical Thai firmness like you would expect (not for everyone). Available drinking water, deep clean room every 3 days. Nice balcony, little peak at the ocean from it. There is some sound at night, but nothing out of the ordinary and gets quiet when it is supposed to. Fair price scooters available!

If you want to dive on Koh Tao, I cannot recommend Hydronauts enough! The instructors and facilities here are nothing short of exceptional! All staff here are knowledgeable, friendly, patient and extremely passionate about diving. The small class sizes were invaluable for a more personalised learning experience. Additionally, at Hydronauts safety is clearly their top priority, from informative pre-dive briefings, well-maintained equipment, and a supportive dive environment, I felt totally comfortable the whole way through my two courses. Hydro was incredibly flexible and helpful when I was unwell on the first day, meaning the whole experience was effortless and stress-free. Also, a massive thank you to Axel, who was the best instructor I could've asked for! His calm and clear teaching style instantly put me at ease, making learning both in the classroom and the water a breeze. He has a natural ability to explain things clearly and makes every dive relaxed, safe, exciting and so much fun! Axel really went above and beyond, and it's clear he genuinely wants his students to do well. As a brand new diver, I'm so grateful to have completed my courses with Hydronauts. 🤿💙

Spent amazing week at Hydronauts! (Jan 2026) The island was quite fully booked, and I got lucky to find accommodation and a great dive center from the same spot! Rooms are very good to the price-quality ratio, 5/5! Restaurant on site also very nice, amazing tacos and wraps for reasonable price! 5/5 Diving: Excellent crew, from boat crew to the dive masters and ground staff, extra mention to Luke and Adrian for very good dive experiences! 6/5 Can recommend on all fronts! BEST EXPERIENCE IN KOH TAO! We did a try dive day (first time diving ever) with Myrren and she was the best🫶🏼 She explained everything so clearly and was so kind and enthusiastic! I def want to come back and do a full diving course with her. The rest of the staff at the diving centre are also super nice and helpful! Highly recommended if you are at Koh Tao and want to dive!

We did our RAID Open Water 20 course with Hydronauts and couldn’t have had a better experience! From start to finish, everything was very well organized. The group size was small (just the two of us), which made the learning experience really personal. Our instructor, Meribel, was absolutely fantastic – she explained everything clearly, was incredibly patient, and always made sure we felt comfortable and confident under water. Meribel is not only a great teacher but also such a warm and kind person – we truly enjoyed spending our days with her as she made the whole experience unforgettable. The equipment was in excellent condition and well maintained, and it was obvious that safety was always the number one priority. At the same time, the atmosphere was super fun and relaxed, so we enjoyed every single dive. We left Koh Tao feeling not only certified, but also confident and excited to continue diving. Huge thanks to Meribel and the whole Hydronauts team – we can 100% recommend this dive center to anyone considering doing a course here!

You’ve got to take into account the price of where you’re staying when you review places. We booked this place because it’s virtually the cheapest private hotel on Koh Tao. It wasn’t the nicest room ever (bed was hard, thin walls), but it was absolutely worth it. Right on the beach, and in a great part of town with tons of restaurants nearby. Also right next to a 7-Eleven and a pharmacy. If you want to come to Tao on a budget I highly recommend Hydronauts.

I just completed my dive master certification with Hydronauts and it was truly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It has out right changed me as a person and the trajectory of my life (for the better). I’m not entirely sure how to put into words quite how appreciative I am of everything everyone at Hydronauts did for me. What I can say is that I highly recommend anyone and everyone to go and dive with Hydronauts, they are truly amazing people and extremely knowledgeable. They consistently calmed my nerves throughout my courses whilst improving my confidence, making me the best diver I could be. As long as you don’t mind the chance of someone called Royal (weird name) being on your certification then I cannot recommend Hydronauts enough

I stayed at Hydronauts and l also did the Open Water 20 certification course with Madison and l highly recommend Hydronauts and Madison as instructor! She teaches with passion, patience and she has a lot of knowledge and I was able to learn a lot with her. It was my 1st time scuba diving and with her I got the confidence to dive after a few dives. It was such an amazing experience! Thank you Madison and Hydronauts! They have small groups, good equipment and are cautious about security. I definitely recommend Hydronauts and Madison to anyone that wants to learn scuba diving in Koh Tao!
