HYLL Hotel

I absolutely loved my stay at Hyll, so much so that it will now become a Christmas tradition. The atmosphere in the hotel was amazing and was created by the staff with how accommodating they are. To be honest it was the staff that made the whole stay even better than it was already and a special mention the the girls on reception Lara, Sacha and Djoney who were extremely friendly and polite, but the main aspect that stuck with me was how helpful they were. Also the ladies in the restaurant Jenny and Zoe were very nice. ||Hyll also captured the Christmas spirit perfectly with the decor of the hotel and they really put a lot of effort into it which made the stay feel even more relaxing. It takes a lot for me to get in the Christmas spirit, but I definitely felt it here.||The interior of the hotel and rooms has that Scandi vibe which I loved and I booked the Courtyard Cozy Room with lounge which was a large suite. The rooms are amazing and very relaxing and they have captured that feel brilliantly.||Overall the hotel is aesthetically pleasing in an amazing with the setting, with a long drive leading up to the hotel. I live close by so I’ll definitely be there more often whether it’s just ti dine out or stay again. ||So pleased I found this place. It’s amazing

My boyfriend and I had the most wonderful stay here last weekend. It's one of those places, that, from the minute you pull up, you relax! Really gorgeous surroundings, with a warm and cosy feel in the main house and rooms. The room felt super luxurious for such an affordable cost and the service throughout our stay was top level. Special shout out to Jenny - you were amazing and I would come back just to chat to you! We also had such a delicious meal on the evening in the restaurant - and almost had the place to ourselves. It was just so calming. Could not recommend this idyllic hotel more if you want a very relaxing Cotswolds retreat. We will be back!

Hotel Hyll completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place was special. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, and every detail feels carefully thought out. The staff are genuinely kind, attentive, and go out of their way to make you feel at home. The rooms are spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable,easily the best sleep I’ve had in any hotel. The amenities are top-notch, and the food? Absolutely phenomenal. Whether it was breakfast or dinner, every meal was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly presented.

When we recently heard Charingworth Manor had changed hands we excitedly booked for dinner with friends. The old hotel is unrecognisable! Hyll’s interior design is fabulous. Big squidgy sofa with a roaring fire for drinks then ultra modern, beautiful restaurant and bar for dinner. The staff were very friendly, not quite 5 star but their friendly demeanour made up for it.||The glasses, cutlery and crockery were also really good quality; I think a wine glass can make or break the wine.||Cocktails and mocktails were very good as was the wine we chose. The food was ‘OK’, but I was expecting more based on the prices and decor. Scallops were over cooked and over salted. Poussin was cooked nicely, but bashed potatoes were dry and powdery without much taste. Husband’s steak was very small for £38 and not cooked to perfection. Chocolate torte was the star of the meal. ||The restaurant was very quiet for this time of year with only a handful of tables occupied. We guessed this was maybe because the marketing wasn’t in full swing yet? There was talk of a soirée to introduce local people which we thought would be a great idea.||There were a few other things that could have helped our experience: more obvious signage for the main entrance, dinner menus offered in the lounge whilst having drinks (we had to ask for them and then only provided with two between four), a separate wine list with introduction to the cellar and descriptions of wines (the wine is expensive but the list is buried in the bar menu with no descriptions).||Overall, we really enjoyed the Hyll experience and wish them every success. Hopefully the hotel and restaurant will be a great addition to the local community.

We booked Hyll for a one night stay in November, it is a really lovely place. The room was across the court yard and although it was lovely there were just a couple of small issues we found. The room is very dimly lit with no big light available. The coffee & tea making facilities are really lovely but I had to use my mobile torch to make the coffee as the corner was extremely dark & I couldn't see what I was doing.||The bathroom was nice but didn't have a mirror which i found odd and there were no drawers of any kind in the room.||We ate in the restaurant on the evening and the food did not disappoint, it was really fantastic! If we lived locally I would definitely eat there often.||Breakfast again was great, with really good choices, for me as a vegetarian there was lots of choices of hot breakfasts & I would say it was one of the best breakfasts we have eaten in all the times we have been away!||We would definitely return to stay here again.

An Unforgettable 60th Birthday Celebration at Hyll I recently celebrated my 60th birthday at Hyll, and I can honestly say it was the most fantastic and beautifully organised event I could ever have wished for. From start to finish, absolutely nothing went wrong — every single detail was perfect. The entire experience was seamlessly coordinated by Sarah Wotherspoon, Head of Sales & Events, whose professionalism, organisation and calm attention to detail were outstanding. From our very first consultations with Alex, and then the handover to Sarah, everything ran effortlessly. Nothing was ever too much trouble. A huge thank you also goes to Robert, Head of Restaurant, and Eva, his wonderful assistant, who not only ensured the catering team ran flawlessly but also captured the event with beautiful photography throughout the evening. The service was impeccable — precise, attentive, and delivered in true silver-service style. The planning and execution were second to none: from cake boxes, place settings, table plans, seating arrangements, photographic table displays, cake table presence, and stunning floral displays running the length of the room — every element was thoughtfully considered and perfectly executed. The detailed agenda provided in advance was excellent, and the entire event followed it seamlessly. The food was simply superb. The chef delivered an outstanding three-course fine dining meal for our 30 guests, served with speed, accuracy, and elegance. Every guest commented on how delicious the food was and how perfectly organised the evening felt. There genuinely wasn’t a single thing out of place. I cannot recommend Hyll highly enough for birthdays, events, and weddings. It was an absolutely amazing experience, and my only regret is that it’s over — I would happily do it all again! Any future events I host will be at Hyll, and I sincerely hope Sarah will be organising them. A massive thank you to Sarah, Robert, Eva, and the entire Hyll team for creating such a special and unforgettable celebration.

Absolutely amazing property in an outstanding setting in the Cotswolds. This place is now going to become a Christmas tradition and I loved the effort the Hotel put in to give it that relaxed Christmas feel. The interior of the Hotel and rooms have the Scandi vibe and is an interior designers dream and the rooms are super comfy and has definitely found that cozy feel they’re trying to create. The staff are outstanding, but I’d like to mention the girls on reception. Lara was super friendly and polite with showing me the property and also Sacha and Djoney who were great girls and very helpful with showing me the interior of the hotel. Big thank you to you all. We had an enjoyable stay at this newly refurbished hotel. |Good: tasty dinner - highly recommend the delicious poussin, very good quality breakfast - highly recommend the excellent porridge with brown sugar and cream. Location is pretty with nice views and not far from Chipping Camden and Broadway. |Work in progress: there needs to be a bit more to do for example a walk on the grounds, spa treatments. The lounges were lovely but very smoky and sometimes busy. Our room was a bit noisy above the restaurant but this was handled well by staff which we appreciated. The shower was good but very small and leaked onto the floor. Our living room area had low ceilings and was too dark to read in. Nice Dyson hairdryer but no socket near a mirror and no make up mirror. No doubt over time these factors will be improved as it expands and it will become a lovely place to stay if the quality of the food remains as we experienced it.
