HYLL Hotel

We recently stayed as a group of friends, and it was exactly what we needed. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a true escape to the countryside, peaceful, picturesque, and the perfect place to switch off from the everyday chaos of life. Everything about our stay was 10/10. The rooms were beautifully presented, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, you can really tell attention has been paid to the details. We all slept incredibly well! The food was outstanding, easily some of the best we’ve had on a group trip. Every dish was fresh, well executed, and full of flavour. Whether it was dinner or breakfast, the quality was consistently excellent. Service was just as impressive, warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling overbearing. The team made us feel completely at home and looked after us so well throughout our stay. If you’re looking for a countryside retreat to unwind, reconnect, and indulge a little, we couldn’t recommend Hyll enough. We’re already talking about our next visit!

Hyll is a really lovely place to stay. A beautiful building on top of a… hill. Stylish interiors, lovely rooms, nice lounges to hang out in, fab walks from the door, good restaurant and excellent breakfast. Service was very friendly and it was clear the staff were going out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Only small issue was the soundproofing of our room (number 2) which was above a lounge area - not ideal when other guests were in there until late and making a fair bit of noise. But it was a Saturday night and I’m sure rooms on higher floors don’t have that issue. Staff were very responsive when I brought this to their attention. There’s an excellent 2 hour circular walk you can do from the door called the Charingworth circular (find it on the free OS maps app). Nice cafes, pubs and restaurants a short drive away too.

We had a really lovely stay at Hyll Hotel. The staff were attentive throughout and a special shout-out to Steph, who was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and made us feel genuinely welcome. Our room was very comfortable and we slept brilliantly. Our dog was also really well looked after, the sausage at breakfast was such a thoughtful touch. The breakfast itself was honestly one of the best we’ve ever had in a hotel. Great quality, beautifully cooked and a perfect start to the day. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back.

Me and my partner recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful hotel. From the start the Staff were amazing and very knowledgeable about the products and where they work. I had a allergy which was no hassle to the staff, they knew straight away and before i even arrived they had asked the Chef what I can enjoy of the menu. We were very lucky to stay in one the comfy court yard rooms with lounge - the rooms were stunning! The amenities and small touches were perfect and well thought out. The whole motto is "to do nothing" and you really can here. The three lounge areas around the hotel is a lovely way to spend your evening or have a drink before dinner whilst relaxing in front of the open fire. I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for a relaxing time away in the Cotswold's. Thank you to Stuart, the general manger, who was super helpful from start to finish off out stay.

Been there for two nights over the weekend and would highly recommend it. The location is optimal, the services are great and the room was just fantastic. We entered and there was the radio playing classical music from a BBC station - dreamy at the very least. The staff was also accommodating with requests like the possibility of having dinner after half past eight, as we were coming back late to the hotel without having had dinner. Two amazing staff members who have always been kind and helpful were Lara and Arthur, they helped us with indications for hikes nearby and recommendations - and it was generally very pleasant interacting with them, they made our staying even better!

Hyll is an incredibly special place. We spent just one night there & were blown away. The setting is simply perfect-overlooking the green countryside and the perfect garden for a sunset. ||Everything in the hotel is geared at you enjoying the most relaxing time possible from the moment you walk in. The smells, the lighting, the music. The hotel has three lounges with roaring fires in winter, light reading or puzzles to do. There’s an LP room to play vinyls and increase your relaxation. ||The bedroom encapsulates tranquility with the comfiest of huge beds, beautiful views and a stunning stand-alone, Victorian style bathtub. Even the kettle is a slow-pour kettle for a relaxing brew. Perfection. ||Dinner was a delight with exceptional service. Starter and main in the beautiful ambient restaurant and dessert in the lounge by the fire. ||Close to beautiful villages like Chipping Campden if you wish to venture out - although that’s unlikely. ||Serenity!

We had an enjoyable stay at this newly refurbished hotel. |Good: tasty dinner - highly recommend the delicious poussin, very good quality breakfast - highly recommend the excellent porridge with brown sugar and cream. Location is pretty with nice views and not far from Chipping Camden and Broadway. |Work in progress: there needs to be a bit more to do for example a walk on the grounds, spa treatments. The lounges were lovely but very smoky and sometimes busy. Our room was a bit noisy above the restaurant but this was handled well by staff which we appreciated. The shower was good but very small and leaked onto the floor. Our living room area had low ceilings and was too dark to read in. Nice Dyson hairdryer but no socket near a mirror and no make up mirror. No doubt over time these factors will be improved as it expands and it will become a lovely place to stay if the quality of the food remains as we experienced it.

We had lunch there. The menu limited to sandwiches and soup. Not inspiring but rather pedestrian. The decor was lovely but slightly reminiscent of a high end airline lounge. Dining room not cozy. On the contrary it was also freezing. Staff kept accessing exterior doors blasting cold air. When asked that they not do so restaurant manager shrugged snd said “ he didn’t have the power to do so. “ (Whatever that means). Ladies room also as cold as a meat locker. It wasn’t great Staff - well they were rude and unhelpful. They will learn or they will close is my guess.
