Hyperion Hotel Dresden am Schloss

This hotel is in a great location with excellent service, and the minibar was a great. A few details kept this from being a 5-star experience. The pillows were extremely flat, and the towels were basic not that good quality—more like what you’d expect from a 3-star hotel. On top of that, all the towels had a strong Clorox-like smell, which is hard to ignore. Cleanliness overall was fine, but not outstanding.

This hotel was fantastic! We reserved a Superior Room with breakfast included and were very pleased with our four-night stay. Our room was 425, which had a unique layout as we didn't share walls with any other rooms (except the far wall in the bathroom). This made for an extremely quiet stay, which is exactly what we wanted after full days of sightseeing. All of the hotel staff we encountered (front desk, breakfast, bar, and room service) were extremely friendly and helpful. The mini-bar was restocked daily.

Very large and nice rooms, especially for Europe. Great location as a base in Dresden. Good buffet breakfast.||Very spotty wireless when we were there. Staff made some excuses, but none seemed legitimate. Otherwise a 5 star.||Dinner at the lobby bar was good on a rainy night.

The Hyperion in Dresden is just fantastic. The location itself is perfect, you’re directly opposite the Schloss and a minute walk to the Zwinger. Everything is within easy walking distance, you couldn’t ask for a more perfect location. |We had a superior room and it was superb. High ceiling so it was roomy and bright, the bed was very comfortable - not too hard and not too soft. The only complaint we had were the pillows, they were so soft, they had very little support but other than that, it was great. The minibar which offered free soft drinks was a huge bonus especially when we first checked in and were travel weary. Our room faced onto the courtyard and it was lovely and quiet, we had an undisturbed sleep. |The bathroom was great and the shower offered a regular flow of water or by pushing in the button on the dial, gave you a more power shower experience. |We had dinner in the restaurant on the first night and the staff and the food were fabulous. We also had drinks in the Schloss bar throughout our stay and again, the drinks and staff were great. Efficient without loitering etc. |Lastly, the staff - unfortunately I didn’t grab names but all of them that we engaged with were so pleasant and helpful. My German is poor and the staff were kind and patient as I bumbled through and were helpful in explaining in both German and English what we needed to know which was great for me as I wanted to broaden my experience of the language. We wanted a taxi booked for the airport and they kindly assisted with that too. Thank you to everyone at Hyperion for making our stay so lovely! |We’ve already said that if we return to Dresden, we’re definitely staying at the Hyperion. You can’t go wrong.

We booked a day spa package. There was no pool or hot tub which I find odd for a spa. The place itself was pretty and relaxing. We got massages and facials. The massage felt like the woman had never massaged a person in her life before, but she had good intentions. The facials were advertised as optimized for your skin but no skin analysis was made, not a single question asked, but the products were very good, so I'd say the facial was acceptable as a spa treatment. Afterwards, we got hunted down on the sofa by the staff to pay immediately and not when we'd be ready to leave which left a weird feeling. Won't return, but not the worst place out there.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel from the outside, corresponding to the beautiful city center. Parking and subsequent check-In was quite uncomplicated and the staff were very welcoming. The room was just perfect, the bathroom being integrated openly into it. Included in the price is a mini-bar that‘s being filled up daily. It was quite nice to get back and just pop open a coke or a beer to relax. The only down side was, as in many other hotels, the carpet floor in the room, which obviously shows signs of it‘s age. A hard flooring would be much more welcomed. Breakfast didn‘t disappoint either, with a variety of tasty options. The hotel also offers dinner and bar options, I did not use those though.

Very nice hotel, the room was clean and comfortable. The location is excellent, especially if you want to see the city by foot! |However, to pay 29€ per person for breakfast was not worth it. The breakfast was under all expectations. This breakfast would be expected at a 2 star hotel, not a 5 star hotel. |The staff had a hard time with allergies, and mixed allergens at the breakfast making it hard to find something to eat. |I would recommend the hotel, but exclude the breakfast, not worth the price!

Very nice hotel with excellent location. We got a special room. It had an air conditioner that barely made a difference in the climate. The staff was helpful with a fan.

In A Nutshell: -The Hyperion Hotel located in the heart of Dresden, Germany is in an excellent location. -You will be right between all of the major tourist sites & if you visit during Christmas, you'll be able to walk within a couple minutes to all of the many Christmas Markets, including the Oldest Christmas Market in Germany. -The hotel has underground parking, which you can just ask the awesome valet to park your car for you. -The hotel is very big w/ very unique U-shaped rooms. -The service is excellent, so if you have any questions or issues, feel free to ask the English/German speaking staff. -For the price you pay, you'll be very happy you chose to stay here. -Their restaurant was open on Christmas 2019 w/ great breakfast too. Overall, I would stay at Hyperion Hotel again given the chance I come back to this beautiful part of southern Germany.

We found this hotel with recommendations on hotels.com and it was a fantastic choice. The hotel is newly renovated, very modern, clean, and welcoming. All employees truly go extra step to make your stay as comfortable as possible. There is amazing spa in the cellar, beautiful sauna with a super comfortable resting room. And the location is perfect for shopping, sightseeing, and railway access. Definitely would stay here again.
