If You're Traveling to Naples, Italy, Here Are the Wineries You Have to Visit

"Set in the lesser-known Caserta slopes near an extinct volcano, this estate began with an 18th-century farmhouse and now encompasses roughly 30 acres of biodynamically farmed vineyards alongside olive and hazelnut groves and uncultivated forest. The wine resort offers eight rooms, a small lake for swimming (purified through a coconut microfiber system) and the Humus restaurant, which follows a 'picked and eaten' principle focused on local produce. Tastings and small plates highlight Slow Food and regional specialties — for example, Teano chickpea hummus with curry and goat cheese, homemade montanarine, and cream puffs with salmon trout and Pellecchiella del Vesuvio apricots and buffalo stracciata — while a dedicated L'Anfora nel Bicchiere tasting explores amphora winemaking. Wine to try: Zagreo Fiano, a Fiano grown on volcanic soils and vinified in clay amphora, yields a fresh, spicy white with an orange hue from extended skin contact." - Federico De Cesare Viola

A true gem with great surroundings. You can walk and enjoy the beautiful gardens and trees and (wine) fields. The buildings are new but in old style. All the vegetation is taken care of. Service is outstanding and very friendly staff. The kitschen is using all vegetables from their own gardens. The chef clearly loves his job. A very special place to be in and to hold an event. When the sun sets down the lights make it very romantic. The breakfast was also amazing. Fresh different kinds of home made bread and cakes. We loved it all!

Outstanding! The resort itself is stunning. Buildings are full of characters and rooms are super new and extremely clean. Restaurant offers a small menu with a great choice of food with ingredients from their own land or from the farms nearby all cooked fantastically. Our baccalà to start, was divine and so was the linguine and the cheese at the end. Portions were perfect with cheese course very generous. If that wasn't enough, the staff is incredible, they are the added value to this venue. The Director, Giovanni, knows what he's doing. He always has a smile and doesn't leave anything to chance, making sure every little detail is perfect. Max from the restaurant is extremely professional, knowledgeable and attentive without being obsessive or intrusive or constantly at the table. He appears from nowhere, he'll change your cutlery, fill up your glass, he asks if everything is ok and moves away but he's always somewhere to be seen if you need him. Bravo! Same is for Alessia at breakfast and Paola at reception and so are the cleaners always with a smile on their face. They all go the extra mile to make sure your stay is perfect and so it was for us. Beyond our best expectations. Worth every penny. We can't wait to visit you again very very soon. Grazie!

We had a wonderful stay at the I Cacciagalli. The location is charming, surrounded by vineyards, olives and other trees than can be visited through a path that leads to a creek and other natural sceneries. The hotel itself is charming, cozy, and with a lovely history. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to help with anything we needed. The room was spacious, comfortable and impeccable. The best part of the hotel was the food and wine. The restaurant served delicious dishes made with local ingredients, and the wine list was impressive. I enjoyed tasting different wines, and from all our Italian trip, here we had the best food by far. The hotel is a perfect place for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves wine, nature, slow life and great food.

This is a special “out-of-city” stay that j planned during my recent trip to Italy. Beautiful vineyard and passionate people who work there. We swam in the pond that is organically maintained with no chlorine. And we cycled alongside the grape trees, olive trees, hazelnut trees etc. The surrounding is so beautiful. I enjoyed the whole experience. Strongly recommended if you on a road trip.
