A piece of Palermo’s history in the form of delicious food. Easy, affordable and fast and you get to try some tasty local specialities. Best to come early in the morning it tends to get packed later.

26/10/2023 I wanted to try something local, made on spot, not the frozen ones; and yes, I was pleasantly impressed: the dough and the ingredients are fresh and good. I recommend this place so you can taste tasty local products and to have a comparison point of taste in everything you’ll try in your Palermo journey It’s a little bit difficult to find, because is inside a gang of a building , but also is near the Garibaldi Theater so it’s not impossible.

Great Street Food. The pieces are small but that means you can try a number of them and not be too full. Also, they are of a very high quality. We tried the Arancini Carne, Crocchette di Latte, Chickpea in a Bun, and a Cheese Pastry. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The packaging of the eight piece was very attractive to look at. Maybe a minor point but showed the care they take of the produce. At €1 per piece the food is extremely affordable and value for money.

A small bakery that’s clean and offers reasonable prices. The entrance is a bit tricky, but if you need a quick bite, this is definitely the spot.

The best that you can found in Palermo!! It's super homemade and tasty! Very highly recommend! The service also is very kind and gentle and the price is just 1€ each pastry! Fantastic!

Recommended by a palermitan friend, this place is really good for snacks. Really fresh as well, everything I tasted was really good. I think the whole lot you see in the picture was a total of about €4. There are a few stools but it’s better to just take away. The staff was friendly enough. The best part is that I didn’t even feel grossed out after eating all this!

This little traditional bakery is hidden in a side alleyway off the main road. It has some really delicious traditional snacks! Ideal for a quick breakfast.

Yelp
Honestly i love these kind of places. Its what i would consider to be a hidden gem and off the beaten path. We ended up stopping by this place on our food tour to sample a couple of items. I honestly felt that these were some of the best bites we had. I really wish that we could have come back here again to try some of the other things but with time limitation it just didnt happen and really this place only makes a few items and when they sell out they sell out. I also really love this history on how this place came to be and how they really continue to serve the community with simple quick food. I hope this place continues on so that more people can come to try their amazing food.

Yelp
This is an ancient establishment hidden in a secluded courtyard in Palermo but it is well worth the effort to find. The place is tiny, with a few stand up tables inside and out. They are a rosticceria, which means fried and baked tasty treats. Their menu goes way beyond Arancini, to puffs with ricotta, greens, tuna, ragu and pizzetas. Food comes in all shapes and sizes and all are under 2 euro with 3-4 making a tasty lunch. Delicious!
