This used to be my favorite restaurant in Berlin for 25 years. Perfectly cooked pizza and well-made Italian dishes on the daily menu—everything straightforward and unpretentious. The service was never amazing, but the waiters were honest and took pride in the food. Prices were affordable. Great food. Sadly, the management changed at the beginning of 2025. Prices went up, portion sizes went down (not even large water bottles anymore), and the service is now mostly male-dominated with a tendency toward rude behavior. It feels like they don’t appreciate their customers. If you enjoy begging for food, Due Forni might be the place for you. The pizza is still good, but I just can’t stand the atmosphere anymore.

I think I've been to this restaurant every time I've travelled to Berlin in the last 20 years, and it has always been good. Inside it's nice, but the terrace is fantastic in summer. Pizzas are good and big. We also ordered a salad, which was a bit disappointing. The service is a bit weird. They appear to be in rush and sometimes they are tougher with clients than one would expect. Not a big deal, but the prices are high enough to have enough waiters to dedicate time to the customers.

Google
Great authentic Italian pizza with thin crust instead of the usual thick dough. Food was good but service was not the same as we waited 20 minutes to get someone to bring the bill. Overall good pizzeria.

Google
We had a team get together here this evening. Service was great! We all had pizza and all were very delicious. Daily dishes looked great too so we’ll be back to try them out.

Google
Very nice location with a relaxing atmosphere and super friendly staff. The pizza is huge and quite tasty. I really liked it.

Google
This place is legendary. Yes sometimes the service is not great or you will even get one of the, emmm, “spicier” waiters, but they are always very busy and doing their best to get you your pizza quickly. Most of the servers are very nice, tbh there’s just a few of the men who will give you some shit every now and then. But just laugh it off and it’s fine. The pizza is the best! And the atmosphere is also great. We love going to this place weekly.

Google
Promised my co-workers good pizza and cold beer. What I didn't expect was rude service. I've been here several times before and could tolerate their lack of customer service and general apathy towards customers, but this recent time was disgraceful. The waiter was openly rude and hostile to me and my colleagues. One table over they accidently broke a glass (in front of the waiter) and he left it there for 20+ minutes to let guests walk over shards of glass. I had to apologize to my colleagues.

Yağmur Hızlan

Google
The place has a vibe and food is prepared fast, with big portions and tastes amazing. However service can be faster and waiters can pay more attention to smaller groups as well. Otherwise very good restaurant and definitely recommend the house wines!!!!!

Yelp
We were invited to I Due Forni for our friends birthday in the end of the April. Next to burgers, pizza is our second favourite so we were happy to give it a try, but a bit unsure if we can get our pizzas as vegan. This was due to the fact that the servers were speaking mostly in Italian and mine was unfortunately a bit rusty! With a help of our friend we got the orders in, and we had a little moment to look around. We were sitting outside, as there were no spaces left outside in the bustling patio. Indoors there are also lots of seating places, at that moment most were empty, but as said before, positioned quite close. So getting some privacy may be a bit challenging. Pizzas arrived quite fast considering the busyness of the whole place, mine came with cheese and I had to wait a bit before I could dig in. But shortly after my vegan pizza arrived and I was ready to munch it down! Boy, it was GOOD! Especially loved their hot oil, this made the pizza just over the top. The size is perfect, as with the soda I was able to squeeze it in. People with a less appetite most likely want to share such pizza with somebody. Btw, that evening we all had to pay in cash, not sure if this is the deal every day, but just keep that in mind. Overall experience great, as food was good, service is so-so, as said before.

Yelp
Excellent pizza! My brother and I had lunch here. We each ordered a pizza and I had a glass of wine as well. It's a casual place and seemed to draw a young crowd but it wasn't terribly busy on a weekday. Both our pizzas were very good.

Yelp
Some of the best pizza I have ever eaten. Simple, perfect balance of ingredients, excellent crust, sigh... The restaurant is warm, casual, and buzzing with energy. Shouts of Italian and German can be heard over the chatter from tables of large groups and families. Service was good, and it was busy, so things weren't delivered promptly, but at least items were correct upon delivery. The pizzas are wonderful whether selected from the list of recommended combinations, or made to fit your liking with toppings. Affordable and overall an awesome experience!

Yelp
This was the best pizza I've had outside of Italy - the same full-plate-size, thin-crust we loved in Rome. The value is terrific, but the service is a little slow (you might have to flag somebody down for more drinks or food), and the noise level is pretty hight. Well worth the trip - and the search (it's set back from the street, and not clearly marked for first-timers)

Yelp
Great spot for authentic Italian pizza. Very cheap with great beer/wine. There was a huge line at the door but it was well worth the wait. Great variety of cheap pizzas and alcohol. I'd recommend the wine since it's a nice serving size for the price and great tasting. You really can't go wrong with any pizza you choose. The waiters can help out with English as well since the menu is in Italian and German. Enjoy!

Yelp
Recently been here for some al fresco dining. It was quite full and a bit messy, with regards to the fairly simple menu that showed some signs of use. I ordered pizza which this place has specialised in, and it arrived after a medium amount of time. Value for money wise it was a bit disappointing. It was a pretty average capricciosa pizza for €7.70, slightly past its prime of doneness, and they didn't accept cards either (you certainly know what that means). Service was ok if a bit plain. It's certainly an acceptable choice if you're dragged into the place by colleagues (as in this case) but it's not necessarily a place I would come on my own again. There are much better places around.

Yelp
FIRST OF ALL! I want to say that, in relation to many of the other reviews here. NO, I Due Forni is not the place to go if you want a waiter/waitress standing behind you at all times or if you want them to lick your *** just because you are a guest there. The reason to go here is because it's the best pizzas I've EVER had. And I mean it! It's like Italy in Berlin. The waiters/waitresses are actually really nice if you show some interest, though. I've never felt that they were annoyed or didn't pay attention to us - ever. Nevertheless, the pizzas are the stars! They also have italian beer, great red wine and lemon soda to die for served in cute tiny bottles! You can see how they are making the pizzas in the open kitchen which has a huge wood-fired oven. Another plus is that you get your food extremely fast. In the summer time it is the best to sit outside, enjoy a lemon soda and eat a GREAT pizza. Maybe followed by one of the lovely desserts that you can see on their ''daily specials'' board.

Yelp
Great pizzas! Fairly priced. Very big, enough room for bigger groups but you'll hAve to book.

Yelp
I would not have found this place if the people at the hostel hadn't told me exactly where to go to find this gem. You have to walk up stairs to get here and I would have missed it totally if I wasn't looking for the stairs. Once inside, you can see why it's so recommended. The whole room was filled with people and the walls were painted on and gave it a nice homey feeling. The wooden tables were covered with checkered table cloth and the servers scramble about, but was still nice despite that. We ordered a small salad and had the waitress suggest a pizza for us. The salad didn't come with dressing, but there was olive oil and vinegar on the table. The veggies were SO fresh and so tasty! I'm not sure what kind of pizza we ordered but the crust was thin and cooked just perfectly! I don't usually like thin crust, but this was so delicious! Yay for yummy Italian food in Germany!

Yelp
A good place for authentic Italian pizza. The portion is quite large for a single person. I could have probably shared mine. The resturant has high ceiling and decorated with lots of graffti and I think they are going for a berlin-punk-street-art style. not sure if they were entirely successful. May be a bit forced. The acoustic of the interior is also not the best. It gets loud really fast. Nevertheless the food is good and the place is quite large as to able to accommodate large parties.
google avatar

Yelp
Possibly the best pizza I've outside of Rome. We sat outside and soaked up the ambiance of the Berliners and live music. The pizza was awesome, we easily ate every bite. Grab a beer and relax!
google avatar

Dericali O.

Yelp
The pizza is great, just like at all their restaurants, BUT DO NOT ORDER A SALAD. The salad we had was the biggest rip off in my life, no exaggeration. Rucola salad for 7 euros, it was literally a big bowl of rucola and a smaller bowl of tomatoes (still cold from being in the fridge). No dressing, no parmesan, no nothing. This was not a salad it was just 'ingredients'... you could have gone next door to Rewe and bought the same things for 1.50e. Very sad.

Yelp
Bella, Bella!! The wood fired pizzas here are a beauty to behold and taste perfect (simple and fresh) Delizioso! *sharp kiss to the mouth with fingers* In fact, the owners believe the pizzas are so perfect they won't let you change anything on the menu...pizzas are served as is, no modifications. Sit outside (when the weather is nice) and enjoy - Oh, and be sure to get nice and relaxed with lots of beer and wine because the service can be a little rude and slow at times so don't come here if you're in a hurry. Note: Cash only
google avatar

Yelp
Hands down one of the best pizza places I have ever dined at. Everything is perfect from the moment you step in....the bustling atmosphere, art/graffiti on the wall from famous artists, and great selection of pilsners, and an even wider selection of pizzas! Everything from horse meat to traditional pizza toppings. A must-eat if you're in the Berlin area!

Yelp
On my first night in Berlin, I ate at I Due Forni-Cucina Casalinga Popolare. It does not sound very typical German, does it ? ;) One star for the place : One you get in front of the place, you have to climb some stairs to reach the terrace. There is a little green area, not to call it a garden, but children enjoy playing there. The terrace is really big and every inch of it is covered in tables and chairs. Then you reach the restaurant. One star for the people : This is a very special kind of waiters we are talking about. There are all italians and wear very punky outfits. They also have piercings, tattooes and terrific hairstyles. It seems that this is a requisit to be employed here ! On top of that they are very nice and fast. One star for the food : I took a four seasons pizza. First of all it was huge ! In Germany, whatever you order, you know that it will be worth your money sizewise. Then, it was delicious ! I highly recommend this one. One star for the style : It is a very friendly restaurant and you feel like staying forever just enjoying the food and relaxing. Anything else to add ? I did not rate a five star here because I have just tasted one pizza. So that means I will have to come back before the end of my stay. If you are around before the 28th August 2011, we can even go together XD

Yelp
My first visit initially put me off a little until I figured that the lack of friendly service was part of the business strategy. If you are going for the service, save yourself the trip. You go for the food and the wine and the seemingly chaotic staff. In fact, I believe that the anarchist cook and part-time revoluzzers amongst us appreciate the ambience. Want a salad - pronto, here is your knife, a cutting board and some tomatoes. Do it yourself. At first, I was like WTF? Then I had the pizza and I swear I just heard the cherubs singing. Devine. Awesome and every other superlative you can possibly think of. The wine is solid house wine. Nothing more, nothing less but good and palatable. The place is extremely loud inside and always busy. If you take your kids, take them with you to the outside seating area. Prices are decent for Prenzl'Berg. Parking can be a challenge. Take the sub. As I am sitting here reminiscing about my last visit, I am drooling. Please forgive me.

Yelp
Good atmosphere - you can tell it is a popular place as soon as you walk in. The pizza was exceptional in taste, great value for money. Food came out quickly, despite how busy it was. Would definitely come back again!
google avatar

Levi S.

Yelp
This is literally the best pizza place I have ever eaten at. Their pizzas are just the way pizza should be: Thin with a good crust and only the freshest and best ingredients as toppings. My personal favorite is the Pizza Incredible but all of them are delicious. And don't forget to get some wine with it, it's dirt-cheap and really good. In the summer they have a huge outdoor seating area too but expect to wait in line on Friday and Saturday nights. The service might not be too great but don't forget that they usually always have to serve a lot of other people too and the food completely makes up for it.
google avatar

Jagoda S.

Yelp
Yum! The pizza was fantastic! Thank you for translating the menu for us! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially with a group of friends and family.
google avatar

Jon M.

Yelp
You go here for pizza and pasta. And they do good pizza and pasta. It gets busy - people know they're good. As a consequence, service isn't always fast - but I know it, and you know it, so go and relax and enjoy your meal. Very informal - with a wide range of pizzas and pastas, as well as some salads. Nice outdoor seating for good weather as well. Breadsticks come in a plastic bag - and they serve some rudimentary bread in a basket while you wait (olive oil/balsamico on the table) - nothing over exciting here - but hey, it's the pizza you've come for right? Enjoy!

Yelp
I ordered a table for 20 people, for Dinner here. I warned the guests: Worst Service in Town - but the best Pizza. Instead of twenty people, 25 people came, we stayed for hours - eventhough we were fighting with several waiters about drinks not delivered, and when they came they were wrong - but my group was warned - so it was still ok. We all ate a lot - Big Pizza's, lots of Pasta, and very very small espressi - which have to be ordered with extra water - not to be washed down, but so that you know you drank something. We had a lot of Wine - we had a lot of big beers (if you do not order a normal beer, you get a half litre). All in all, our tab was well over EUR1000,-. We warned the waiters ahead of time that we all pay seperately - waiters like this - because the tip falls out very much bigger this way around. We started paying, each one for himself - and all went smoothly, I waited to be last so that I can catch everything that was forgotten. Then, three more people to go - the waiter starts screaming at my not German (or Italian) friends - and forces them to pay stuff they did not order. I ask him in a friendly tone to stop yelling - everything that is not taken care of in the end, I will take care of. But he kept on screaming so badly, that one of my guests ended up in tears. This is when I too started yelling. It helped. Strange thing: They knew me. I bring guests and have a tab well over EUR 1000,- at least once a month. But that was the last time. The relatively good pizzas, are not worth the bad service. Sadly, it is the same case with the service in the pizza places in Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain. I'm afraid Restauranteers stop worrying about their guests as soon as they believe it can't go wrong anymore. IMPORTANT: In May 2009, the place was closed down for a few days by the Health inspectors. They had found dangerous living bacteria in the kitchen. This information is published in German on the Health Inspector of Pankow's website.

Yelp
Whether you want to have a family dinner, a fun dinner with friends or a quick bite by yourself, this pizzeria is appropriate for all types of situations if you are in for a noisy but very animated evening. The interior is messy but matches the chilled and easygoing atmosphere and the food is delicious. They mainly serve a big variety of pizza's (mostly under 10€), but pasta lovers will also be satisfied after a dinner at this place. I was especially amazed by the friendliness of the staff, as they try to take their time for you even though they are super busy. It is opened until midnight but also is very popular, so you'll either have to come early or to get lucky!
google avatar

Daniel S.

Yelp
Fantastic atmosphere and great huge authentic Italian-style pizzas! Probably the best pizza place I have tried so far in Berlin!!!! I could shoot myself for not trying the yummy looking tiramisu! Oh well, I guess we have to go there again, and again and again....
google avatar

Qype User (fer…)

Yelp
Scruffy pizza restaurant with typically Berlin style unfriendly waiters. OK pizza, confusing menu, very busy. Bring patience and don't be surprised by relatively high prices, especially given the scruffiness.
google avatar

John A.

Yelp
This place never disappoints... I love it here! Great food, great location, great staff, and great prices! The place is quite large inside and always bustling. For me it feels very Berlin with it's high ceiling and graffiti everywhere, and then you speak with one of the many staff and think "wait! am I in Italy". The strong accents and Italian responses are not to confuse you, but just a reminder that the pizza will be very good!!! (The pastas are quite great as well!) My favorite is between the Texana and the Piccantisimo. I will continue to go here and to bring my friends here. And now that the weather is great for sitting outdoors (which they have plenty of space), I plan on being there more often.
google avatar

Qype User (anna-…)

Yelp
In it's class, it's a winner. The room is big, loud and full of people. The walls are scribbled down by guests. The service is so lousy it is funny. The pizza is super good. The thrill of seeing the faces of the people ordering salads is priceless: the salad is not mixed for you; you have to cut up your own vegetables. Yuk. I loved it.
google avatar

Kruno B.

Yelp
Great pizzas! A bit pricey and the service can be bad. Also when its full its way too loud because there are too many places for that space. I dont like the place nor the service but the food is soo good that I will keep coming back.
google avatar

Qype User (Mac…)

Yelp
I, love it here but as you might have guessed I,am also a punk :-D service is good only sometimes they are too busy so i,think everyone (almost) Agrees the food is very good. And for FLICKRs Review how did you ever get your bill up to 1000 Euros here ? i,eat and drink a lot and the bill is about 20 euros each when i,go with a group of people so im calling spice on your report sir :-D
google avatar

Qype User (NewBer…)

Yelp
The best Pizza in town, without a doubt! The only thing is that the room is pretty loud when full of people, but they have a big terrace that in spring and summer is really really nice. So, just order a real italian pizza and the Tiramisú (is one of the best I've ever ate!!) and you'll be much more then satisfied!
google avatar

Qype User (Castil…)

Yelp
Very nice pizzas. Delicious actually. Try the incredibile

Simon K.

Yelp
Staff can be exceedingly unfriendly at times. Last time we had a little "conversation" about a bowl of parmesan that, even if placed in front of you without a word, can only be used for pasta and not pizza. Extremely unfriendly tone when we'd apparently transgressed this unsaid rule. I would have paid the 1.50 € extra - even though that's literally ridiculous - but they said they didn't want it. I then proceeded to pay with exact change, at which point the waiter outright chewed us out for not leaving a tip. I usually don't tip people who shout at me. Not returning, although I suspect I'm no longer welcome. All the other days, they've just been a little more unfriendly than any other place I've been to. This was fine, and I used to come over for lunch in the summer. Pizza's good, though.
google avatar

Alexander S.

Yelp
Terrible service. You can expect a range of disasters from bugs in your food to insults from a waiter. In short, it's a lottery: it can be ok but be prepared for the worst.
google avatar

Camilla R.

Yelp
Friendly staff, informal atmosphere, awseome pizza! Love it!
google avatar

Flâneur H.

Yelp
Properly authentic Italian pizza, right in the heart of Berlin and a regular eatery of neighbourhood wit Fergus Bremner.
google avatar

Zebulon S.

Yelp
Dude, seriously? Wanna be treated rudely by both wait staff and trendy neighborhood parents? Then come here. The pizza is wood-oven good (but that's available everywhere else these days) but the playground is dustry and broken, other patrons put their noses up as if they discovered the joint and the wait staff -- I'd rather eat at the soup nazis. That this place and its father location in Xberg are still there are testimony to the fact that Berliners have very low standards. The only benefit is when the waitresses wear their loose '80s tops and you can check out their goods when they bend over to put down a pizza (after you wait 30 minutes to even order a beer).
google avatar

Jeff T.

Yelp
Lovely Italian anarchy. Tasty pizza with the crazy Italian authenticity you would expect in Italy. Check the daily menu (if you can read Italian), ask for the spicy oil and drink the Ratsherrn Pale Ale on tap - Unless of course, you prefer wine, because they're generous with that too.
google avatar

Mohammed G.

Yelp
The location and the seating at the terrace is really nice, but the Pizzas themselves are pretty average. Prices are ok. Service could be better.

Dominik R.

Yelp
Used to be a good place, but quality dropped and they even increased prices. Super long waiting times (up to 1h) are normal now and extremely unfriendly staff.
google avatar

Allison M.

Yelp
Best pizzas in Berlin. Large open space full of tables and full of people, always buzzing and great atmosphere. Down to earth and excellent produce. Not expensive and delicious.
google avatar

Andy B.

Yelp
Great pizza. You sit in a big room full of people. Tables are placed end-to-end together, so you are sitting with 10 other people. The place is lively and has good energy. Don't go if you are in a hurry.
google avatar

Wolfgang B.

Yelp
OK, so the pizza tastes really great but the service really lacks. Sometimes they also serve wrong drinks and waiting for food can take really long... Still, some of the best pizza in Berlin.
google avatar

Sheila B.

Yelp
Nice place to be with friends and groups, the pasta was not really special and stuff very unfriendly!
google avatar

Kifah A.

Yelp
Friendly staff, decent prices and genuinely yummy Pizzas. Perfekt for a quick meal on your lunch break.
google avatar

Pablo K.

Yelp
Short and sweet. Kick A** pizza, as good as any you will find in Italy. No exaggeration.
google avatar

Renata S.

Yelp
Amazing italian pizza in berlin! Went there several times and the pizzas are great. Also tried the pasta and it's also delicious. It's cheap as well, you pay around 12 euros for a whole pizza and a pint of german beer. The service is ok, but the pizzas really compensate it.
google avatar

Kathleen P.

Yelp
There's a reason why this place is buzzing - it's bloody good. The pizzas are delicious, they arrive quickly, the house red is "in Ordnung" and the dessert platter is a great sharer. Not the most romantic joint, but it's fast, friendly, and loud. The menu unapologetically states that no changes are possible: good, I say! And why would you need to be a pain in the ass with such a massive array of pizzas on the cards? Not a great intimate first date occasion, but a great "regular pizza joint" for the family or a group of friends, offering the best quality pizza in Berlin.
google avatar

Joana V.

Yelp
Best italian restaurant in berlin! The pizzas are huge and delicious and they have the most amazing home made tiramisu. Strongly recommend!
google avatar

Hannes H.

Yelp
The main reason to come here is for the pizza. They offer pretty much any pizza you can imagine. The pizza size is generous and prices are reasonable. However we felt that the quality of the pizza wasn't anything special. My cheese wasn't melted enough and the toppings were somehow bland. I have to agree with some of the previous reviews that here it is more quantity and prices over quality and authentic pizza.
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
My girlfriend took me here for my anniversary of living in Berlin. Food is good. Atmosphere is lax. Prices are great. It's very loud so if you don't want to have a private conversation it's great.
