Flying to Bali? This App Is Now Mandatory for All Visitors | Condé Nast Traveler

"As of September 1, 2025, international visitors arriving at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport are required to use the All Indonesia app to submit a single digital arrivals declaration that integrates immigration, customs, health, and quarantine information; the form may be completed up to three days before departure. The free app is available via allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id and on the Google Play Store and App Store, initially rolled out at select entry points with plans for nationwide deployment. Authorities say the app shortens and secures the arrival process and is more user-friendly for all passengers — including the elderly, children, and people with disabilities — and that the collected data supports the security, health, and integrity of Indonesia's borders." - Scott Campbell

The Best Time to Visit Bali—And Where to Go for Your First Time | Condé Nast Traveler

"On arrival at Denpasar airport, expect to wait around two hours in long immigration queues, and be prepared for slow road journeys as heavy traffic can fill Bali's narrow roads." - Anna Chittenden

Visiting Kuta Beach: Why This is The WORST Place in Bali!

"Getting to Kuta is straightforward: Denpasar International Airport (DPS) is about 15 minutes away by taxi. The standard prepaid airport taxi fare is 50,000 IDR, though if you walk away from the airport you can often find non-airport metered taxis that will do the trip for about 20,000 IDR (only a savings of roughly $1.75 USD, so the prepaid taxi is often worth the convenience). There is also a bus from outside the airport for around 4,000 IDR, but it takes much longer and is less convenient. From Ubud you can take a bus to Kuta for about 80,000 IDR each way, with several departures daily and a journey time around an hour (the distance is only ~35 km but traffic can be bad and roads sometimes flood during the rainy season)." - Matthew Kepnes

How to Research Your Travel Destinations Like a Pro!

"When I arrive in Bali I brace for mayhem at the Denpasar airport, which I’ve found to be an epicenter of tourist scams: SIM cards sold there are often marked up about ten times and taxi prices are routinely inflated. To avoid this I get the names of reputable companies before I go, never get into unmarked taxis, and always know what the ride should cost; I also research the airport by Googling its name plus “scam” so I know what to expect. Sometimes you can book an Uber for much cheaper if you meet the car at the departures level and ignore people who claim Uber “isn’t allowed” there. I also don’t rely on airport Wi‑Fi, so I decide on my taxi or SIM card plan before landing — that preparation lets me walk through the chaos with my head held high." - Matthew Kepnes

I had a great experience arriving at Bali Airport from Manila! The international terminal is incredibly clean, modern, and beautifully designed with a distinct Balinese charm. The staff were efficient and friendly, and the amenities were excellent. The arrival process, including immigration and baggage claim, was surprisingly fast and well-organized, making for a very smooth transition to my hotel. A top-notch airport that provides a wonderful first impression of the island! Highly recommended.

I was excited to be back in Bali after my last visit about 10 years ago. I’m so glad the airport was updated to accommodate more travelers. There’s certainly a lot more shopping and dining options in the airport. Immigration clearance was quite smooth as we were able to use the automated gates. I do hope there’s a way to unify the different QR codes that we need to produce while entering the country - Arrival Card, Bali Tax and Visa. Duty free shopping was conveniently located near the baggage claim area. We were able to grab a bottle of liquor each before leaving the airport. Arrival hall was easy to navigate. We were able to locate our guide easily, who led us to our transport. Overall, big improvements and definitely updated airport.

Very impressive Airport. Lot of shops and eateries even at the gates. Very beautiful and clean and systematic. Though there is heavy traffic but things work here very smoothly. As it was galangun and kuningan time much effort was put to showcase the religious practice and culture of Bali. Very pleasant experience. Food quality is very good Anna lot of variety at affordable prices

Ngurah Rai International, also known as Denpasar or Bali Airport, is the main airport at present, serving Bali, Indonesia and in fact, is the 2nd largest airport of Indonesia. It has separate, international and as well as domestic terminals. Easily accessible through local transport and is almost 13 km away from Denpasar. With having more than 30 million travelers passing through, Denpasar has become the best airport in Asia. It has 7 arrival and 8 departure gates, 62 check in counters, 4 transit counters and 5 unit conveyor belts. Both terminals have prayer rooms, smoking areas, shower services, children's play areas and believe it or not, it even has cinemas covering news and entertainment. In fact there is an in-house hotel with 206 rooms and most supporting facilities. The international terminal has architectural themes, which was fascinating to note and to click too. The way the airport has been having an ever increasing number of passengers going through it, it seems Bali will be re-allocating or preparing a larger airport soon enough. We three loved puttering through the duty free shops as much as we had in other airports, while flying to our different destinations.

A great airport experience! Ngurah Rai International Airport is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. The staff were friendly and helpful, from immigration to security. There are plenty of shops, cafes, and souvenir stores to enjoy while waiting for your flight. The traditional Balinese design elements throughout the terminal add a unique cultural touch. Everything ran smoothly, and I was impressed by the efficiency and atmosphere. Highly recommended for travelers coming to or leaving Bali!

I travelled to Bali this year and I arrived and departed through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. The overall experience was surprisingly smooth, comfortable, and very traveler-friendly. From the moment I stepped off the plane, the airport felt modern, clean, and well-organized, making it easy to navigate even though it can get quite busy. The immigration process was fairly efficient. The queues can be long depending on the time of arrival, but the officers worked steadily, and the lines moved at a reasonable pace. The staff were professional and gave clear instructions, which made the process feel less stressful. Once inside the terminal, baggage claim was straightforward. The belts were clearly labeled, and my luggage arrived without any delay. One thing that really stood out during my arrival was how convenient the airport makes it for tourists to settle in quickly. Right after exiting immigration, I purchased an eSIM at the airport, which was incredibly helpful for staying connected throughout my trip. The staff at the eSIM counter explained everything clearly, activated it within minutes, and made sure it was working before I left. It saved me the hassle of searching for a SIM shop outside, and the network worked perfectly across Bali. The airport itself has a wide variety of shops, cafés, and duty-free stores, offering everything from local Balinese snacks to international brands. Whether you want souvenirs, last-minute essentials, or just something to snack on, there’s plenty to choose from. The restaurants and cafes are also quite good for an airport. Clean, comfortable, and offering both local and Western options. The terminal environment is well-maintained. Restrooms were clean and regularly serviced. Security checks were organized, and the staff remained polite and helpful throughout my journey. The architecture has subtle Balinese cultural touches, which adds charm without compromising the modern feel of the place. I also liked the comfortable seating areas near the gates. Even during peak hours, it never felt chaotic. The air conditioning was strong and refreshing and the free Wi-Fi worked really good, which made waiting for my flight much easier. Overall, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport offers a smooth and welcoming travel experience. From convenient eSIM services and clear navigation to friendly staff and comfortable facilities, it truly sets a positive tone for anyone arriving in or departing from Bali.

I like the arrival terminal more than the departure one. The arrival is way more beautiful, you can find dozens of food stalls and affordable minimarket. While in the departure, things are so expensive and only limited food stalls are available. However the staff in both terminal are nice and friendly.

Bali Airport (Ngurah Rai International Airport) is well-maintained and offers a pleasant experience for travelers. There are plenty of good eateries and shopping options throughout the terminal. A nice touch is the availability of foot massage services inside the airport, which can be a great way to relax before or after a flight. The washrooms are generally clean and thoughtfully decorated with fresh flowers, adding a refreshing, local touch. Additionally, the Klook or Grab pickup point features an air-conditioned seating lounge, which is very convenient, especially when waiting for your ride. Flights get rescheduled/delayed quite often so check and confirm before you reach airport. Overall, the airport provides a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere for both arrivals and departures.
