Yelp
I had such a wonderful experience at I Loaf Sourdough, a true gem of an independent bakery in East Fort Lauderdale. The baker personally helped me select a sampling of their goods, and everything was absolutely delightful. I tried the pecan cookie, the apple crumb cake, the buttery almond poppyseed cake, and a croissant, each one beautifully crafted and full of flavor. You can immediately tell how much pride and care goes into every item.
Of course, we couldn't leave without ordering two loaves of their signature sourdough. The walnut raisin loaf had a subtle sweetness that was just perfect, and the classic sourdough OG had a fantastic flavor, a crisp, flavorful crust, and a wonderfully tender crumb. Truly, this baker shines in their craft. We are so lucky to have a bake shop of this caliber right here in Fort Lauderdale -- it feels like stepping into a European bakery without leaving home.
A side note: I noticed some negative reviews from people who admitted they hadn't even tried the baked goods. Opening and running an independent bakery takes an extraordinary amount of work, passion, investment, and years of training. This is someone's dream, built loaf by loaf, pastry by pastry. If you haven't tasted the product, think twice before leaving an unwarranted review. Especially when the work is this exceptional. Otherwise, well... karma.
