Ibah

We spent 12 nights at Hotel Ibah and it was a truly exceptional stay for us. Last year, we visited only for dinner, and already then we knew we wanted to return as guests. Our expectations were fully met. The hotel has a unique charm – the atmosphere, the character of the place, and the warm approach of the staff create a peaceful and welcoming environment where we felt genuinely comfortable. A few small details surprised us, but this place has many other, much stronger qualities that make us happy to overlook them and return with joy. For us, Ibah has become a heartfelt, special place that keeps its unique character – something you don’t find easily elsewhere.

We stayed in a suite at Ibah Ubud during our trip to Ubud from December 24–27, 2025, and truly enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The location is exceptional and, in our view, ideal for exploring both central and suburban Ubud. The resort is within comfortable walking distance of central Ubud, including major attractions, excellent restaurants, and the Ubud market. At the same time, it sits just outside the busiest core, which means you are spared the noise, congestion, and dust of the town center. Being at the edge of downtown also makes logistics much easier—our tour driver was able to pick us up without getting stuck in Ubud traffic. One afternoon, we even walked the Campuhan Ridge Walk, returned to the resort for a refreshing shower, and then headed back into town to enjoy the evening. It’s a perfect base if you want to explore nature (rice terraces, waterfalls, scenic hikes) during the day and stroll through town in the evening—a truly ideal rhythm for tourism in Ubud. Staying at the resort itself feels like living in paradise. The property is surrounded by lush trees, flowers, and beautifully landscaped paths, yet offers modern, clean, and comfortable shower and dining facilities. Importantly, the photos on the website and those shared by other travelers are not exaggerated—what you see is exactly what you experience. We booked a suite, which is tucked behind a secluded garden, reached via a forest path adorned with statues. The suite features a lovely patio with a couch where we often relaxed while enjoying the garden view. The bedroom itself felt elegant and almost royal, with a classic design that made the space feel both luxurious and serene. Ibah also offers excellent facilities and services. The room was kept impeccably clean throughout our stay, and despite being immersed in nature, we were never bitten by mosquitoes. The resort has massage services and two beautiful swimming pools, both perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. Our stay included breakfast, which offered a wide variety of options and was consistently satisfying. Overall, our experience at Ibah Ubud exceeded our expectations in every way. We would absolutely choose to stay here again on our next visit to Ubud and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful, beautiful, and well-located retreat.

Ibah is a paradise. The staff is helpful and kind, and happy to help answer any questions of provide assistance. The property is excellent, about a 10min walk up hill (almost faster than a car can go!). It is a prime location to also do the Campuang ridge walk. The mossy covered stone walls and beautiful grounds with everything in bloom will allow your mind to drift off to vacation La La land. The property is owned by the Ubud royal family and it felt like we were royalty when we stayed there. The restaurant is open 7am-10pm, and it serves complimentary afternoon tea 3:30-4:30pm. We stayed in one of the treetops rooms and thoroughly enjoyed the balcony overlooking the river and ability to see and hear the birds. We had rain on the final morning and I did yoga on the balcony without getting wet at all. This place is magical and I thoroughly recommend it!

Our stay at Ibah in Ubud was truly magical. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a hidden oasis—tucked away in lush greenery, serene and spiritual, yet close enough to walk into the heart of Ubud (a real blessing given the traffic). The setting strikes a perfect balance: removed enough to feel calm, private, and restorative, but still deeply connected to Ubud’s energy and culture. It’s the kind of place where time naturally slows down. The rooms were beautifully appointed—elegant, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed to blend with the surroundings. Every detail felt intentional rather than luxurious for the sake of it. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the staff. Attentive without ever being intrusive, warm, and genuinely kind, they made us feel completely at home as a family. Overall, Ibah is not just a place to stay—it’s an experience. Peaceful, grounding, and quietly spectacular. We left feeling restored and already hoping to return.

Ibah Hotel in Bali is truly one of the most stunning places we’ve ever stayed. The architecture is breathtaking, with a deep sense of history woven into every detail. From the stone pathways to the ancient carvings, the entire property feels like a sacred, peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. Our suite had the most incredible view of the jungle—sitting on the terrace in the evening, listening to the rain and the sounds of the animals, was a moment of pure magic. It’s hard to put into words how peaceful and grounding it felt. The grounds are historic and beautifully maintained, and the overall atmosphere is serene and authentic. Breakfast was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The all-day menu also offered delicious, thoughtfully prepared dishes with both local and international options. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. They made us feel genuinely cared for and added to the relaxed, gracious energy of the place. Bonus highlights: the yoga class was a peaceful start to the day, and the evening jazz was a lovely touch—adding even more charm to an already unforgettable experience. This is more than a hotel—it’s a sanctuary. We left feeling rested, inspired, and already dreaming of our return.

Our first vacation in Ubud was made more enjoyable, memorable, and comfortable because of our stay in Ibah resort. Ibah is quaint and elegant. It has a lot of activities like the Canang sari making and the purification ritual, activities that are uniquely Balinese, and made our stay more meaningful. They have a huge yoga room that accommodated our big group. The spa was exquisite, the pool is clean and neatly tucked in a quiet place. The rooms are rustic, room amenities are complete. Except for the bulky pillows, room is perfect, very spacious and private. We even got a special welcome card for our group. Best of all, the staff members are genuinely goodhearted, polite, warm and friendly. They were experts in facilitating our airport transfers, tours, and even accommodated our late check out. They set up a picnic dinner for our group in their garden; the setting, live music, and food preparation were very detailed and beautifully executed. So much hardwork was put into it. During our last night, they had a live jazz band and grilled food. Thank you to the staff for taking care of us and accommodating our needs and requests.

Absolutely stunning traditional Balinese retreat. Gardens were 1m/10 and made every other part of our getaway magical. Pillows and beds were heaven-sent and the pool and service stunning. A few things feel a bit short in the restaurant for such a magnificent property, and a note requesting us not to steal a $5 trinket considering the price we paid to stay felt insulting, but we still give 5 stars.

I didn’t believe in otherworldliness until encountering Ibah Hotel; staying here felt like I was in an imagined world (think The Secret Garden meets Indiana Jones). The cascading gardens, the ancient stone and motifs and the unique beauty allow you to enter a primordial reality and shed the outside world. In addition to supremely luxurious accommodation, helpful/unobtrusive staff, this boutique hotel resort offers a splendid restaurant where decadence meets simplicity. The food and coffee are exceptional. In fact, I recommend dining at the restaurant, even if you aren’t guests at Ibah. Ibah offers a plethora of thoughtful extras too; a shuttle service to the centre of Ubud, an extensive library, complimentary weekly yoga and a day spa. Ibah is exemplary!
