Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada

Didn’t arrive with much expectations but had an extremely great time. The highlight of my trip was definitely seeing peacocks and peahens walking freely on the property! You could also see some cats! This is a great sign of how important nature is to Iberostar. Food from the buffet is 10/10, even better than the restaurants; good quality and variety. Drinks are ok for the price of the resort, there’s local rum and a wide variety of other alcohol brands you can choose from but if you want the best of the best, gotta pay extra for it (which is expected). I found that the lobby’s bar is the best! The club is VERY fun, 11pm-2am of partying and dancing with the bar just a few steps from the dance floor. Everything is close by, no matter what building you’re staying in; there’s no elevator so make sure to ask for a room on the ground or first floor if you’re not a stairs person. This would’ve been a 5-star review but the pool was dirty in most places. On the 4 days I stayed there, the water wasn’t clear, lot of debris (including hair, dust, bird excrement, yellow bubbles, among others). Unpleasant experience as I had to be pushing everything out of the way when getting a drink. Maybe the filters weren’t working but it’s a no-no for me. Make sure to download the app, you can make reservations there and get notified when your room is clean or other things you could’ve asked for. Overall, staff is very friendly. Would recommend!

Beautifully maintained resort. Great value, great service and hands down best all inclusive in the Puerto Plata area. The only issue I have is the amount of food options. They could improve, especially the choices at the Bohio Bar. The hospitality I received was excellent, in other resorts, I’ve seen the staff discriminate with people they feel might give them gratuity but at this resort everyone was treated equally.

This was a last minute trip, but do not regret a thing. From the staff, to the rooms and services I have been pleasantly please. I will definitely be coming back, felt safe and homie. I recommend anyone that wants to come, please give it a try. Ask for Rambo, he made our stay extra special and unique! Can’t wait to come back.

My daughter and I had a fantastic time at this resort. The place is clean, even the public bathrooms are clean. The staff everywhere is friendly and helpful. You want for absolutely nothing here. Food is served from 7a - 3a at various locations with a vast variety of food, and accommodated every diet. The pool and the beach are amazing, with plenty of places to sit. I have nothing to complain about, only that my stay was too short. Loved this place and plan on coming back.

The hotel itself is wonderful! The food is absolutely delicious and they try and switch up the menu every night with another cuisine as inspiration. The hotel itself is gorgeous, the garden is very well maintained giving it a very tidy look. It does look like the pool cleaning needs to start up in the morning, because at the start of the day, there's still some bits and tree droppings floating around, but after some time they get filtered out by the pool cleaning system. We had a room with an ocean view which is incredible and to us, worth it. The room itself is slightly outdated but the bed is comfortable and it gets nicely cleaned every day. The only issue we have is the moment you leave the resort. So far we've had multiple occasions where people jumped at the opportunity to scam us, either in a hospital setting or as simple as just getting a taxi. They majorly overcharge you sadly. So we prefer to stay within the resort. Luckily, that still provided for a wonderful holiday!

We had a very good Time here. Very nice resort. Good service. Ver nice stuff. Had some personal Trainings with Bryan and Daniel. They did a awesome Job. Like nearly everybody. The waiters are nice and helpfull and the Bartenders always give their best.

Pros- Beautiful resort- clean, lots of things to do and the friendliest staff. Beautiful rooms with everything you need. Huge pools and a private beach that is well maintained and felt very safe. We didn’t have kids with us but there seemed like there was a lot of options for them. |And there’s plenty of bars! ||Cons- I didn’t particularly care for the food but I am a picky eater and it was included so definitely not a deal breaker. And there’s no lack of it! Make sure to book reservations for the Italian and Japanese restaurant as they have limited days/seatings.|The staff that books the excursions can be pushy but you just have to be firm….i would recommend doing a couple though- especially monkey land and ocean world. The city tour was ok but you can get a cab and go yourself. The city excursion take you to all of the shops that they are obviously friends with or getting commissions. ||Overall, it was still an amazing time & place and we will return.

The service is super super amazing. The entertainment staff specially *Burbujas* ensured we were entertained at all times. The activies are very diverse. The staff from main dining Santos!!! Is always ok top of everything. Lastly tony the manager at the hibachi . The bartender Andy is very efficient and friendly. Will definitely return again!
