JOIA Bávaro by Iberostar

This was a vacation to celebrate a milestone birthday. We booked months ahead, never being here before but the reviews made us feel like we made a great choice. The reviews did not disappoint and my review will be a little different. Arriving 3 days before my birthday and here for a week, I came down with a massive case of the flu that has been going around North America right now. I assume I caught it on the flight down. We upgraded our room to butler service ocean view when we arrived and it was in hindsight the one major thing that changed the course of my trip. Our two butlers, Eduardo and Cesar went far beyond their call of duty. I fell ill the night before my birthday and unbeknownst to me they had been working in the background to arrrange a very special day. Seeing how ill I eas they quickly pivoted and made sure I had everything I needed to be as comfortable as possible. The next day I decided to go to the medical Centre on site where the doctor assessed me and provided meds which quite honestly made the difference between staying bedridden the rest of my trip or being able to salvage a little bit of it. I am thankful I was seen so quickly. I’ve been reading Reddit all week about people’s experiences with this flu and many have been down with it for weeks. I’m still not 100 percent but acting so quickly probably made the difference. If you need to visit the medical Centre don’t hesitate. I only have the best things to say about our butlers, our housekeeper Yulisa and the entire staff at JOIA. What little I got to enjoy impressed me so much that we definitely want to return. And the weather was perfect all week.

Great family vacation for the holidays! Front bar staff, beach staff our Butler Victor were all amazing. There is one waitress at lunch (short with glasses) and one hostess at the main restaurants (short, with hair in bun and glasses) who could learn a few manners, but everyone else was lovely. Holiday dinner was fantastic - everything you could want and more. We enjoyed all the restaurants and went to each more than once during our 10 day stay. The grounds are beautiful and the beach is well kept - refreshing water and white sand. We usually stay at Secrets but Iberostar has given us an alternative to stay at during our Punta cana stays. Thank you for a wonderful trip!

We just returned from a fantastic 5 day vacation at Joia Bavaro and absolutely loved every minute of it. It was exactly what our family needed. The property is beautiful and very well manicured. The entire staff is amazing! Everyone we came in contact with was extremely friendly from the moment we arrived. Our butlers Junior and Valentin took great care of us all week. We could not ask for anyone better to handle everything we needed. The poolside bartenders Ery and Bruno were so much fun and attentive to everyone. The entire entertainment group was great! We had such a great time with them all week with the many daily activities and nighttime entertainment. There are too many to name them all but we spent a lot of time throughout the week with Snoop dog and black mamba and we did a lot of laughing and dancing! The Joia Bavaro is a perfect size where we never felt overcrowded and never had any problem getting a pool chair or getting in any of the restaurants. The golf course is beautiful too! We could not have asked for a better Christmas vacation! We highly recommend this resort if you are looking for an adult all inclusive.

JOIA Bávaro is an extremely clean, well-maintained adults-only resort. The staff clearly takes pride in keeping the property spotless, and the service overall was excellent. My butlers, Jose and Houston, were always available and very helpful. The pools and beach areas are beautiful, and it was usually easy to find lounge chairs without having to rush early. The resort has a calm, upscale vibe that never felt overcrowded. At times, the service was a bit overwhelming, with multiple staff members checking in back-to-back while dining. The intentions were great, just occasionally too much. I also experienced some confusion with the laundry service, and while the resort app was helpful, it wasn’t very intuitive. Food accessibility was a little inconsistent as well. These were all relatively small issues. Overall, this is a great resort with hardworking staff and a relaxing atmosphere. I would easily recommend it and feel a 4-star rating is fair giving the small issues inexperienced.

We stayed here for 10 days and absolutely loved every single moment! From start to finish, the staff truly went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Our butlers, Houston, Jose, and Victor were absolutely amazing and checked in on us frequently to make sure everything was perfect. Prestige Club members Junior and Rosa were wonderful as well, always happy to help with reservations or even arranging a bottle of wine whenever we needed one. The team at the Prestige Beach, Majarez, Augusto, and Martin were fantastic! They always made sure the cabana beds were set up perfectly and kept the awesome drinks coming. The nightly entertainment was so much fun, and we especially loved the Star Friends dancers Mumba, Chocolate, and Smile, along with the incredibly talented singer D’Bunet. We also want to give a special shout-out to Perla from evening housekeeping. Her thoughtful touches, like rose petals on the bed and an adorable swan couple made from hand towels, made us feel so special and truly pampered. Restaurant hostess Jessica always greeted us with the warmest smile and made every dining experience even better. There was also a wonderful waitress at the lobby bar in the evenings, unfortunately, we didn’t catch her name, but she has long straight brown hair, usually worn in a ponytail, and the cutest nail art. She was incredibly friendly and attentive, and even when we weren’t at the bar, she would warmly greet us whenever she saw us around the hotel. This resort exceeded our expectations in every way, and we can’t wait to return!

We spent 10 days at JOIA over Christmas with family, and I honestly cannot say enough good things about this resort. Everything was absolutely perfect from top to bottom - the food, cleanliness, attentiveness, service, beach, drinks - all outstanding. One of the biggest reasons we chose JOIA was because it’s a quieter, more refined resort, and it exceeded our expectations. It’s peaceful, elegant, and never feels crowded - exactly what we were looking for. At the same time, you still have access to the neighboring club, which offers great live music, shows, and entertainment, so you truly get the best of both worlds. The food quality was exceptional across the board - fresh, beautifully prepared, and consistent every single day. The drinks were excellent, premium and made properly, not watered down. The beach is pristine, and the entire property is immaculately maintained. You can feel the pride the staff takes in keeping everything at such a high standard. A massive, heartfelt shout-out to Victor, our butler, who truly made this stay unforgettable. He was absolutely incredible from day one. My sister and I fell sick for a few days during our stay, and Viktor went above and beyond to take care of us - checking in constantly, getting us everything we needed, and even drawing Epsom salt baths to help with recovery. That level of care is something you don’t forget. Little personalized touches - the thoughtfulness, anticipation, and genuine care - made all the difference and are what separate JOIA from other luxury resorts. This resort delivers true luxury through service, calm, and attention to detail. If you’re looking for a peaceful, upscale, impeccably run resort with access to entertainment when you want it, JOIA is perfection. We will absolutely be back.

We just got back from a five day stay here. The grounds are gorgeous and while the rooms are a little dated they are kept quite well. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, our butlers Reynaldo and Kofe were always available and went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant stay. The food is quite good for an all inclusive, with several delicious restaurants and an expansive buffet. Many gluten free options. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend!

This place is top-notch! The best service of any resort we have stayed at… And that includes some very well-known more expensive options. Shout out to the great Pool bar tender Ery, who brought joy to every afternoon like I’ve never experienced before with his infectious enthusiasm! The food service is impeccable.. abundant choices and variety, high quality and delicious! Another shout out goes to Carlos at the morning breakfast buffet! Noteworthy was the gala on Christmas Eve. I’ve never seen anything like it! And we also want to thank Daniello and Edward for their daily assistance in making our stay so easy and wonderful!! I would highly recommend them if you come here. Garcia at the front desk was super helpful, and at the omelette station Glady was a wonderful smiling face every morning! The entertainment team was great also, so friendly and engaging across the board- All of them and many others make you feel so welcome all day everyday!
