I recently stayed at this hotel, and while it had many beautiful aspects, there were quite a few details that left me disappointed. The gardens and interiors are stunning, creating a serene and relaxing atmosphere that immediately catches your eye. The staff were incredibly friendly and the breakfast was truly a highlight—delicious, with a great variety of options that felt indulgent and carefully thought out. I also loved the SPA - however, it seems worth to mention that entry of the SPA facilities is not included in the hotel booking and needs to be paid on top. Unfortunately, the charm of the property didn’t fully make up for the several issues I encountered. When I arrived, there was no assistance offered with my suitcase on the stairs (others mentioned this as well), which was not the warmest welcome. Once in my room, I noticed several small but frustrating details. The hair dryer was broken, and one of the lights in the headboard above the bed wasn’t working. There was no water carafe or glasses provided, so I had to use my personal water bottle to refill drinking water, which felt a bit inconvenient. (There is no complimentary water in the room but you are asked to get your drinking water from a water dispenser a in the hallway). The bathrobe in the room looked neatly ironed, but it wasn’t clean—it had a big, visible stain on the outside, possibly coffee or something similar. The mini-bar was another issue. It hadn’t been restocked since the previous guest, and there was even an empty glass left behind that had likely contained nuts. Room service was unnecessarily confusing. The spa menu was available in the room, but for everything else, I had to scan a QR code on the TV. This took me to a page with very limited information, no prices, and vague references to options that weren’t well-explained. It felt like a lot of unnecessary effort just to figure out what was available. To add to this, I tried booking tours during my stay, but availability was extremely limited, even though I had planned this a week in advance. It would’ve been helpful if the hotel had informed guests to book online at least a month before their stay. Despite these frustrations, the friendliness of the staff, the stunning property, and the amazing breakfast made the experience somewhat enjoyable. However, the numerous small oversights and lack of attention to detail detracted from what could have been a truly outstanding stay. This hotel has so much potential, but it needs to address these issues to offer the kind of experience you’d expect.

We recently spent a week at this hotel and it was a really lovely experience from start to finish! The rooms are spacious, the bed is incredibly comfortable and the standard of cleaning down every day by the cleaning staff is fantastic. We had a lovely experience with Miriam on reception on our final day. She was incredibly helpful and patient and really went above and beyond for us. Would definitely return here.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at! I really enjoyed my time there. The hotel and its rooms are so beautiful, and the breakfasts were super delicious—everything was high-quality and tasty. The view from my room was great, and the cleaning was perfect. I stayed there twice. The first time, I had a standard room, but the second time, I got a bigger one with a balcony. I booked the same category both times, although the price was different, so I’m not sure why the room size changed.

Apart from the style and the pool and the fantastic gym. You may judge a hotel by how they behave when things go a bit wrong with your holiday. My mother became ill towards the end of our brilliant week long stay. Louis and the team at reception went out of their way to help and re-assure. A hotel with some old world charm and old world service among all the modern additions. I think this lovely place may become a regular trip.

Beautiful hotel. We travel quite often and this is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The hotel staff go above and beyond for all clients, especially in Los Menceyes Restaurant. Very good options for vegans. We will definitely come back again. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

Just got back from a week at the Grand Mencey, booked via TUI UK. Overall a pretty positive experience with excellent service, lovely rooms and a good location. A few minor niggles though:|Air conditioning in room extremely dry air. Couldn't have balcony doors open at night due to street noise (significant all through the night with rubbish trucks/street cleaners). Ask for an inward facing room if this bothers you. Good view of the sea though from the 4th floor.|Overall food was better than ok (we had a B&B package). Good news was that we kept well away from the English style breakfast, as it looked awful, otherwise great selection, good coffee etc. We ate a few times in the hotel for other meals and they were good without being spectacular. Far better restaurants a short stroll into town and with better value for money.|The bar service was top notch no complaints at all but definitely 5* pricing. About 6 euros for a beer and 14 for a decent G&T. Drinks always came with nibbles and the bar area both inside and out were pleasant areas for an evening drink|The pool area was good with decent quality sun-beds, towels and waiter service. Pool despite being on the smaller side was adequate. Whole area very clean.|The Spa was 20 Euros for residents for the 90 minute circuit (35 for no residents) and despite a few of the jets being broken was a good classic circuit. All usual steam rooms etc. Treatments were 5* pricing but included in our instance a free spa circuit.|Lots to see and meander in the city itself, and felt very safe. Lovely park opposite. Seafront a brisk 15 mins walk. We utilised the electric scooters around the city which were good for the uphill sections in particular.|There is also a good car park lots of spaces under the hotel at 12 euros a day.

We stayed here for 7 nights on a B&B basis. Despite arriving late, check-in was quick, and we were informed where we could still grab a bite to eat.||The breakfast selection was extensive, whilst only scrambled eggs were available at the buffet, you could request any other style, and they would prepare them fresh, which I personally preferred over fried eggs sitting under a heat lamp.||The pool area was well-maintained, with plenty of sunbeds available. During our stay, only one family on one occasion, resorted to reserving beds with towels, though there was more than enough space for everyone. A lovely touch was the complimentary cocktails served poolside twice a day. Carlos, the friendly bartender from Cuba, went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of.||Our room overlooked a small road, but we had a distant view of the sea. The room itself was spacious, spotless, and serviced by housekeeping daily.||We couldn’t find a single fault with this hotel. The staff were all exceptionally friendly, helpful, and professional. Despite being located in the town, the hotel offered a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. An area of the hotel we particularly enjoyed was the terrace situated just off the reception where we would sit each morning after breakfast.||We wouldn’t hesitate to return in the future.

Google
2 stars because despite a great looking hotel, good location and good food, it shouldn’t be a 5 stars and I am very disappointed by the overall service. Particularly the way they handled the fact that a cockroach, alive, was found in the hairdryer of the room. I’m not sensitive to insects at all and actually did not care that much, but the way the man from the reception talked to me and handled the situation was unacceptable. You cannot say that this is something which can happen and that I have to deal with it, in a haughty attitude, especially when I was just asking for it to be removed. I never heard back from them, not even for an apology or a special attention (which you would have had for sure in any other hotel with such a reputation). It’s one thing to have a good exterior appearance, but you also must be dealing with clients in a correct way and provide a quality service when you boast so much about being a luxury 5 stars hotel. Other things to be noticed: - fruits in the breakfast are terrible for such a hotel in a location like Tenerife - courtesy from the staff could be largely improved in general - the condition of the shower is bad - light not working near the bed Disappointed to write such a review but unfortunately this was our experience and there’s no chance we will come back.

Yelp
Once again, my husband and I, came back to this lovely hotel. We had previously stayed in a garden facing suite, but on this occasion,we decided on a city facing one. From our two balconies we enjoyed views of the Parque García Sanabria, the city and the sea. The suite is spacious, bright and airy, with modern and uncluttered decoration. Bed and furniture are very comfortable. The bathroom had a walk in shower, separate bath, double basin and separately enclosed toilet. We had a spacious walk in closet with a safe. The welcome macaroons, coffee machine and unlimited water were a nice touch. During our stay we visited again the spa; enjoying the spa circuit (thalassotherapy, heated outdoor spa pool, jacuzzi, plunge pools, sauna and steam rooms) and a 70 minute essential massage (I believe we paid £110 per person or so). While at the spa, I decided to get a facial treatment, this was also very good. The facilities are very well maintained and look elegant and uncluttered. The hotel itself and grounds are classic and elegant but have been renovated with a modern twist (I think the hotel was bought by Iberostar and renovated around 2014). You can still see the lovely marble all throughout the reception and the stairs, the lovely chandeliers and parquet flooring. The outdoor garden is lush and green, it's a very nicely tucked away gem in the heart of the city. The location is superb, you are across the street from the park, a few streets from the beach, museums, the Nuestra Señora del África market, etc... Regarding the food: we had breakfast at the hotel. There's a decent selection of pastries, bread, cereals. A small selection of a la carte options, some cheese, cold cuts, caviar, limited fruit. I would have liked some better quality fruits and more vegetarian friendly options but I understand the fruit and veg is limited and of poorer quality due to the geolocation of Tenerife (however I saw very good quality ones at the market a few streets away from the hotel!). During our stay we visited the bar for after dinner drinks, the Mango mule was absolutely delicious and had a tasty edible lemon straw. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout the whole stay. I would most definitely come back. If you want to see the real Tenerife, you must stay in Santa Cruz, La Laguna or La Orotava.

Yelp
From the time we checked in to the hotel the service was great. The gentleman that checked us in gave great recommendations for local restaurants and cafes. We used the map he gave us and his recommendations throughout our entire stay. We enjoyed the accommodations and amenities. The Restaurants and bars offer great food and drink with great service. The towel animals were so adorable, the children visiting seemed to really enjoy them. The only complaint would be that our bathtub backed up and caused the toilet to flood, the only remedy we were offered until the next morning was extra towels. That was on the first night of our stay, first thing the next morning we were in a new room.

Yelp
I think if you have a suite with a nice view, your review might be different than mine. Overall, my stay was fine, my room was more like a cave, even though I had a balcony, it was on the street side where the garbage and recycling pick up was, and also the employee break area, so I kept my doors closed to keep out the noise. The hotel is in a somewhat convenient location, about a 15-minute walk from the old town walking area. The staff were helpful to a degree, but they seemed overwhelmed at times and the few simple things I did ask they couldn't make happen.

Yelp
USA guest here -- this is the BEST hotel I have ever stayed at. Very similar amenities and facility like Ritz, for example. The difference, however, is the attention to detail. Our room, the restaurant, bar, and spa were immaculate, as was the service. Especially the service. For example, they gave us place settings and new dishes even for casual snacks at the pool. My laundry was delivered faster than advertised, fast 24 hour room service, and perfect reception. No matter what the occasion -- I saw a number of business travelers and families, and I was here for a getaway with my girlfriend -- this is hands down the best hotel.

Yelp
Beautiful setting, clean nice rooms. Friendly staff as well. Be aware however that parking can be both difficult and expensive, if you don't mind a far walk. All in all a great boutique hotel

Yelp
A lovely hotel, very high end, swanky, classy up scale. Amazing friendly staff made my trip to Spain memorable. The bar keep was very friendly and hooked me up with a pack of cigarettes. Rooms weren't all that spacious but its minimalistic setup was pleasing and accommodating. Just a few blocks and your in La Noir for site seeing and cafes. Just another couple block the opposite direction and there are much bars and restaurants. TAKE A CAB, those hills are killer.
