Iberostar Heritage Grand Mencey

Our stay in this fine hotel was fabulous. It's a little piece of heaven we all deserve when taking a break from work and everyday life. Our room was perfect and the wonderful cleaning staff made sure it was spotless on our return each day. There's a number of restaurants to choose from all of which are excellent. The breakfast menu is a real treat and again all the staff are very attentive. The pool is very safe for children and has a lifeguard on duty at all times helping you to relax. Our daughter loved her lunch around the pool and the the very Cool Cuban Carlos was always on hand to cater for our needs. Lovely guy. All the staff are great, the surroundings are beautiful, the design is impressive. Overall a ten out of ten for this hotel. Would highly recommend. Tony, Mandi & Evie

This hotel offers a truly superb experience! The rooms are fantastic – modern, functional, and spotlessly clean. The food was also excellent, making every meal a pleasure. It's clear that a lot of care goes into maintaining the hotel's high standards. The only minor issue I encountered was with the service; I requested an iron but unfortunately, the staff wasn't able to organize one for me. Despite this small oversight, the overall quality of the hotel, from its cleanliness to its amenities, makes it a highly recommended place to stay.

This is our 5th holiday at the Grand Mency over the last 7 years. Santa Cruz has so much to offer and explore for families and couples, but the hotel offers that place of serenity with attentive service and hospitality areas. The spa, gym and pool areas are complimented with attentive staff offering amazing service. I can’t avoid mentioning Carlos (Cuba) who worked hard around the pool ensuring you had water and an attentive service.

Am on our last day at this hotel, having been here a week. What a find this place is, fabulous hotel with staff that are as equally fabulous. The rooms as lovely, pool is beautiful and never busy, Carlos at the pool bar is ever helpful and a super nice guy. Location I great, it is a 10 minute walk into the main part of town. I have been to the Canaries many times, this is the best yet. Highly recommend.

What a hotel with an exceptional team of staff. No other holiday has been as relaxing as much as this one. Its location is more of a city hotel but due to the size of the grounds and the facilities you wouldn’t actually notice. You could eat on site everyday from a stunning breakfast to sumptuous dinner every day with the quality of food second to none. We came for a relaxing sunshine holiday mid July 25 and certainly got it. We’ve especially enjoyed our time at the pool area and we have to mention Cuban Carlos, an amazing person, always smiling, always chatting to all of the guests and so helpful all of the time with refreshments and food. Usama is another we will also mention as he was also fantastic during our morning beverage or after dinner drinks. All in all a stunning hotel in gorgeous grounds with an exceptional team of staff, plus the turtles were an added bonus…..the most relaxing, tranquil holiday ever.

We booked this trip based on the hotel not knowing it was a city break as opposed to a holiday resort as other parts of Tenerife but what a delight it has been. The hotel is immaculate and the maids are super fast at cleaning the room.|We paid for breakfast on arrival at a rate of €20 per person per day and it is wonderful. We have ate here twice for lunch and again everything is perfect. Everything here is top quality. Marco the pool waiter is fantastic and the lifeguard is very attentive. There is a lack of English speaking staff but as we in return do not speak Spanish it’s nothing Google translate cannot fix.|We used the the spa for €20 per person for a 90 minute session…. Bliss. Gym opened at 7am mon-fri and 10am sat-Sunday.|There is a casino underneath the hotel also.|No shop in the hotel but there is a conveniently placed spar shop over the road where all your essentials are well cheaper than UK. The area of Santa cruz has been wonderful and as it is not a tourist area the prices are brilliant for eating out. All in all it has been a delight to be here. Taxi from the airport cost around £150 return

I love this hotel! Nowhere else do I relax as much on vacation as I do at this amazing place. My husband and I come back here every summer, and we always look forward to the perfect rest and relaxation. The breakfasts are truly excellent, as is the food in any of the hotel’s restaurants. Our favorite spot in the hotel area is the pool. And Carlos from Cuba is the best waiter – not only does he always serve you with a smile, but he also jokes around with you. I recommend this beautiful hotel to everyone. I love it here!

Once again, my husband and I, came back to this lovely hotel. We had previously stayed in a garden facing suite, but on this occasion,we decided on a city facing one. From our two balconies we enjoyed views of the Parque García Sanabria, the city and the sea. The suite is spacious, bright and airy, with modern and uncluttered decoration. Bed and furniture are very comfortable. The bathroom had a walk in shower, separate bath, double basin and separately enclosed toilet. We had a spacious walk in closet with a safe. The welcome macaroons, coffee machine and unlimited water were a nice touch. During our stay we visited again the spa; enjoying the spa circuit (thalassotherapy, heated outdoor spa pool, jacuzzi, plunge pools, sauna and steam rooms) and a 70 minute essential massage (I believe we paid £110 per person or so). While at the spa, I decided to get a facial treatment, this was also very good. The facilities are very well maintained and look elegant and uncluttered. The hotel itself and grounds are classic and elegant but have been renovated with a modern twist (I think the hotel was bought by Iberostar and renovated around 2014). You can still see the lovely marble all throughout the reception and the stairs, the lovely chandeliers and parquet flooring. The outdoor garden is lush and green, it's a very nicely tucked away gem in the heart of the city. The location is superb, you are across the street from the park, a few streets from the beach, museums, the Nuestra Señora del África market, etc... Regarding the food: we had breakfast at the hotel. There's a decent selection of pastries, bread, cereals. A small selection of a la carte options, some cheese, cold cuts, caviar, limited fruit. I would have liked some better quality fruits and more vegetarian friendly options but I understand the fruit and veg is limited and of poorer quality due to the geolocation of Tenerife (however I saw very good quality ones at the market a few streets away from the hotel!). During our stay we visited the bar for after dinner drinks, the Mango mule was absolutely delicious and had a tasty edible lemon straw. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout the whole stay. I would most definitely come back. If you want to see the real Tenerife, you must stay in Santa Cruz, La Laguna or La Orotava.

From the time we checked in to the hotel the service was great. The gentleman that checked us in gave great recommendations for local restaurants and cafes. We used the map he gave us and his recommendations throughout our entire stay. We enjoyed the accommodations and amenities. The Restaurants and bars offer great food and drink with great service. The towel animals were so adorable, the children visiting seemed to really enjoy them. The only complaint would be that our bathtub backed up and caused the toilet to flood, the only remedy we were offered until the next morning was extra towels. That was on the first night of our stay, first thing the next morning we were in a new room.

I think if you have a suite with a nice view, your review might be different than mine. Overall, my stay was fine, my room was more like a cave, even though I had a balcony, it was on the street side where the garbage and recycling pick up was, and also the employee break area, so I kept my doors closed to keep out the noise. The hotel is in a somewhat convenient location, about a 15-minute walk from the old town walking area. The staff were helpful to a degree, but they seemed overwhelmed at times and the few simple things I did ask they couldn't make happen.

USA guest here -- this is the BEST hotel I have ever stayed at. Very similar amenities and facility like Ritz, for example. The difference, however, is the attention to detail. Our room, the restaurant, bar, and spa were immaculate, as was the service. Especially the service. For example, they gave us place settings and new dishes even for casual snacks at the pool. My laundry was delivered faster than advertised, fast 24 hour room service, and perfect reception. No matter what the occasion -- I saw a number of business travelers and families, and I was here for a getaway with my girlfriend -- this is hands down the best hotel.

Beautiful setting, clean nice rooms. Friendly staff as well. Be aware however that parking can be both difficult and expensive, if you don't mind a far walk. All in all a great boutique hotel

Loved this Hotel very centrally located to all the hustle and bustle. amazing park across the street. Within walking distance to bus station - plaza Espana and all the fun shopping. playa terrisita was a 5 minute bus ride. The staff was great and very helpful and knowledgeable we really enjoyed our stay. we had complimentary fruit set up as refreshment very nice touch hit the spot. We would definitely return to Iberostar Mencey.

A lovely hotel, very high end, swanky, classy up scale. Amazing friendly staff made my trip to Spain memorable. The bar keep was very friendly and hooked me up with a pack of cigarettes. Rooms weren't all that spacious but its minimalistic setup was pleasing and accommodating. Just a few blocks and your in La Noir for site seeing and cafes. Just another couple block the opposite direction and there are much bars and restaurants. TAKE A CAB, those hills are killer.
