Iberostar Selection Parque Central

Mixed review - the positives . the location is great, walking distance to most locations . Rooftop swimming pool has exceptional views and . Breakfast has good selection . They have live music in the lobby bar area. The negatives . The hotel is infested with cockroaches in rooms and even in the restaurant next to the food which the staff constantly kill or remove by hand. No tea kettle or tea of coffee in the rooms, this is standard in all hotels around the world even in Varadero but in this hotel they won't and the room fridge is empty, but they rate themselves 5 star. Some staff are very friendly but some behave as if they don't want to be there. The most annoying thing is that if you pay for your food and drink straightaway you can pay in pesos but if you add to your room to pay at the end, they suddenly won't accept pesos and charge you is hard currency at three times the exchange rate.

The hotel is beautiful. A gorgeous lobby, great bar with reasonable prices (if you pay with Cuban Pesos), and wonderful entertainment (lobby and rooftop). The Colonial suites were spacious, and we found them to be great. The location is perfect as it is located on the gorgeous central park, near El Floridta, Sloppy Joes, National Theater, etc. Great location. As with most hotels, the food was not great. I found the buffet breakfast to just be adequate, with many foods not being fresh. The egg station saved us, but everything else was just ok. The wait staff was attentive and nice. ||The other issue (not necessarily the hotels fault) was that there was a main waterline break in the hotel and water was being captured in buckets in the lobby. They got is resolved quickly, but we were one of the few rooms that needed to be relocated. This was a little inconvenient, however, they did move us into a better and bigger room...so we were thankful for that. AC works great, bed is adequate, and water pressure was great. ||I would stay here again in a heartbeat, and perhaps venture away from the hotel from breakfast as there are plenty of places nearby.

Excellent location, easy walking distance to all of old and central Havana. Loads of the classic cars park outside so it’s really fun to see all of them but it is an extremely touristy area so expect to get hassled as soon as you step outside. Our bedroom and bathroom were very spacious. The bed was comfy and the air conditioning was very efficient. It was on when we arrived late at night and our room was freezing! Luckily there’s a warm blanket in the wardrobe! I’m sure it would be much appreciated if you visited when it was really hot. The lobby bar is really pretty with lots of tropical plants and different musicians throughout the day and evening. The breakfast selection is amazing, especially considering all the food shortages currently happening in Havana. I’m vegetarian and there are plenty of options. The pastries and cookies are highly recommended. The roof top pool is such a perfect place to escape the city heat and chaos for a while.

This was by far the best hotel we stayed in in Cuba. From start to finish the staff were helpful and professional. The reception staff actually understand service and were very welcoming. Kelly was very good. |Our room was spacious with a good sized bathroom and a comfortable bed. It was very quiet. |Breakfast was very good - individually made smoothies, a well organised egg counter and decent coffee. The service was excellent. |The pool is lovely with great views. There was some sunbed bagging though. |The concierge services were excellent. |It’s in a great location. We loved looking at the classic cars in the square below and the views over the Capitol are breathtaking. Highly recommended.

Everything about the hotel was wonderful. Great service,great food, very helpful concierge. I recommend to everyone to come to this hotel. The rooftops are amazing, mainly Nuevo Munro with Harold, he was particularly helpful and his team too. The room very comfortable, the bed just perfect, the air conditioning just perfect.

Liosmary is a great waitress and whole Pórtico staff is great. I always have a wonderful time here with them and enjoy food, beverages and live music. Most likely I would recommend Pórtico bar for everyone. Generally there is always something interesting and new

Rooms are clean and tidy. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Great location in Havana City very close to the old town and the park across the street. There is a gym and an outdoor swimming pool on the top floor which I didn't know existed until our last day

A hotel in the middle of all the action. We got to watch the central square come to life from our balcony every morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food and service in the breakfast and bar area was good. If you are looking for a good hotel in old Havana, I recommend the Iberostar. ||Top tips, for your visit: make sure you bring small USD bills for tips. Bring plenty of tissues.
