One of the best all-inclusive hotels we have visited. The rooms were simple but spacious and clean. The pool was nice and the beach gorgeous. There were more than enough beds by the pool and on the beach, but a spot in the shade was sometimes hard to find.||The hotel had many services and activities. We enjoyed the diving center but there is enough to do for those that do not dive. The food we really enjoyed. There are multiple restaurants that serve different dishes, more than enough to choose from. The staff is really helpful and usually have a big smile on their face.||Finally there is quite some wildlife in the park which is nice to see and not disturbing at all. Too bad it is so far away from home, otherwise we would surely return.

Excellent hotel for a family vacation. The service was beyond excellent. We love the Staff, they were very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Yoania, one of the managers, was excepcional and went above and beyond to accommodate my large family.|We love the prestige area ,as a iberostar member I’m so grateful with the prestige staff ,they took care of me and my family., Mariela, Raul and Christian did a great job helping me with everything. Big thanks to Raymundo , the bar tender for those amazing cocktails. The star camp staff are incredible, they took care of my son really good and he had a really great time with them.Is impossible to get bored in this hotel they have Plenty of activities during the night and in the pool area. We really enjoyed our days here , For sure we are going to come back.

Excellent spot for a family vacation. I have been to various all inclusive hotels and this resort was a perfect balance of comfort, ambiance, and amenities. The food and restaurants were delicious and never packed. The service was beyond excellent. Staff was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Yoania, one of the managers, was extraordinary and went above and beyond to accommodate my large family. Anything we needed, she made sure to do whatever she can to make it possible. She made everything extra special.

Google
Beautiful resort, service was friendly. The rooms are a little small but had everything we needed to be comfortable. Food was mostly good. Breakfast was probably our least favorite. They provide glass refillable bottles and purified water stations, but bringing your own refillable bottle would work better as the glass ones are heavy and we were always afraid of breaking them!|The beach is beautiful but rocky entrance to the water, so bring water shoes. Chairs around the pool and beach are plentiful. I do recommend bringing anything you need such as sunscreen, bug spray, etc. with you as the prices in the little resort shop are ridiculous!!! One can of spray sunscreen was $44 YIKES!!!|Mosquitoes are pesky around the property in morning & evening so make sure you have bug spray or wipes.|All in all a good trip and we would return.

Iberostar waves was truly like walking into a nature documentary. I am a huge animal lover and really loved immersing myself into the wild. As for the staff, I am leaving with a full heart. I really do believe that the people also can make or break a trip. Gerry and the entertainment team were wonderful. Talking to him was like hanging out with a dear old friend. The night time event team were also so gifted and special. The dancing and singing between all of them was amazing. This place captured my heart and soul. Felt more like an experience than a vacation. My husband and I definitely will be back.

Google
This was our first ever all inclusive and we will go home raving to everyone about our experience. Right away, we noticed the care the staff took at the resort to make everyone feel at home. Natalia, the concierge, helped answer all our questions. Everything was incredible; the food, the rooms, the staff but what really made this trip memorable was the entertainment staff. We stayed at the resort for 9 days and at the end, felt like they were family. We loved ALL of them but Betty (Beatriz) really made us feel welcomed and special. She was the perfect balance of warm, fun and supportive. Every day, our whole group (of 6) would go out of our way to find her because she made us feel so cherished. Her sunny disposition truly made every moment full of joy. Another person who really stuck out to us was Humberto. His jovial attitude just made every moment so fun. I appreciate that he would find moments to just sit and talk with us. These instances made us feel really cared for. And he truly can command a crowd!!! Everything was more fun with super sexy Humberto around. We cannot express enough how special our vacation was at Iberostar. We will most certainly be back!

Food, Room and Service was very nice! Especially the beach is very beautiful and the whole resort fitted perfectly into the natural landscape of cozumel. The animation team was very friendly, funny and helpful. Especially Gerardo (Gary) did a great job and made our stay very enjoyable.

Google
I had an incredible stay at this beautiful resort! The views were stunning, and the atmosphere was perfect for relaxing and having fun. The highlight of the trip? The amazing sports entertainment team – Gerry, Betty, Judy, and Azael. As well as the best Server, Ana. They brought so much energy and made every activity fun, from beach games to evening shows. Their friendliness and enthusiasm truly made the experience unforgettable. Especially Spanish classes with Judy. Can’t wait to come back. Huge thanks to the team for making our vacation so special!

Yelp
We're almost through our week here at Iberostar, and I wanted to leave a review. Having given it thought throughout the week, I couldn't give it any less than 5 stars. REALLY CLEAN: The hotel and grounds are beautiful; there are flamingos, peacocks, a tortoise, and a few cats on the grounds. Some of the kitties are friendly, but most tend to stay to themselves in the verdant landscaping, running here and there. There is great attention to neatness and cleanliness here; there are lots of trash cans, and we have yet to see a single piece of trash anywhere. The foliage is spectacular; if you like tropical plants, it's a paradise. PRICE: The pricing is excellent, especially for families; there is a play area for kids, a shallow pool as well, and I can see that this would be a great destination for any family. We've always stayed at adult-only resorts, but Iberostar has been just fine and we like seeing the little kids. Granted, there's pounding music at the pool around lunchtime, but that's typical of every all-inclusive beach resort we've been to in the Caribbean. KEYLESS ENTRY: We really like the wristbands that get you into the rooms; it's nice not to have to keep track of key cards. A very nice touch. PERFECT FOR SCUBA: Having Dressel Divers on the property is what got us here, and it's perfect for me; I can walk 50 feet from the beach chair and I'm at the pier and the dive shop. Dressel is a great company, made me feel safe and well-guided; I had some incredible dives. OVERALL: Service has been excellent; the staff are almost all extremely friendly, and seem to do whatever they can to make our stay enjoyable. For about $270 per night for 2 people, it's a great deal, considering that food and drinks are included. Would I recommend this to others? Absolutely, without a moment's hesitation. The staff has been extremely friendly, the drinks have been plenty strong--and we've enjoyed top-shelf alcohol as well.

Yelp
We had great service. No large complaints about the stay. Every staff member I had contact with was wonderful. The room was great and would suggest getting ocean view. The pool was always the spot to be but it wasn't over crowded. Drinks continues to flow and no one was sloppy. If you want a beach resort in the jungle then this is your place. Food was ok, I think it could have been better. Dive resort built in is perfect and used every day. I will go back.

Yelp
Where trashy and not classy meet. Iberostar has some great employees: Angeluz, Fabian, Shatzy, and so many more. But overall the food was unpleasant, rooms were thoroughly dated, and amenities were just plain sad.
google avatar

Samantha E.

Yelp
We had an absolute blast! Everything about it from the food to the rooms to the pool to the beach and the staff was amazing. We are going to be booking again and bringing the kids this time!
google avatar

Elizabeth D.

Yelp
The staff is amazing and always willing to help. The buildings are a little weather worn but it adds to the charm. Three different weddings happened in 5 days, so apparently the pricing is reasonable. Food is good, typical. The only two things I didn't like were the pool not being heated and having to pay for a taxi for every trip versus the hotel providing a shuttle.

Yelp
Love this place! I came on a day pass and truly enjoyed the facilities. The day pass comes with access to everything as well as wifi. I didn't use the wifi since my phone's signal worked perfectly at the resort. I love that there are animals and birds roaming the grounds without restrictions. I felt like I was playing a game of animal crossing when the peacocks would walk by in front of me. The grounds all throughout the resort make you feel like you're in a Safari at times. The food was great for breakfast and lunch. You have a few options but I picked the buffet for lunch since there was a bigger variety. You have a hot bar and cold options as well as a variety of desserts. The drinks were spot on. They were all strong and there was never a wait over 5 minutes at any of the bars. You could also order drinks at the buffet including shots or margaritas.

Yelp
The tiny ants that were all over my room and in all of our stuff. I wanted to add this to my other review but it wouldn't let me.

Chris R.

Yelp
Very disappointed with this resort. We were looking forward to vacation, purchase package 6 months in advance. Of course a hurricane hits - understand it is not their fault. However, there was zero urgency to clean the resort. Most of the guests did it for them. On top of that, they only had a buffet open for three days, so we only got to eat in one of the restaurants. When we did eat at restaurant, over an hour wait to be seated. Pool was only clean one day we were there, slow service at pool bar. Beach was never cleaned up either. They refused any type of rate reduction based on hurricane and did a poor job informing us of what the plan was for the hurricane. Do not recommend, there seemed to be other resorts that were up and running and took proper precautions.

Cliff B.

Yelp
I found the staff to be sincere with their help and service at every encounter, our satisfaction was their goal. The food was so diverse with four different seating themes. The activities for children were a real adventure for our 5 year old grandson. The show at pool side with singing performance followed by acrobatic performance in and above the water was a treat for all ages. I enjoyed the cool temp in the fitness gym which was well equipped and the physical fitness trainer Mano was always ready to assist with your regular needs and in my case went the extra distance with research into stretching and strengthening for my recent shoulder surgery rehab. Our trip was fantastic!

Yelp
We just left this resort last week and we totally enjoyed it! The rooms were cozy & bungalow style. Very clean! The wildlife throughout was so cool. Peacocks and iguanas and parrots and flamingos OH MY! It was our belated honeymoon and you know how you are always kind of nervous when booking international online? We walked into the open air lobby after our very fun shuttle ride (not included for us) and we both immediately dropped our jaws! It was so beautiful. The staff is what really made our week amazing! We really got to enjoy them and return to see our favorites every day. We had peacocks come up the stairs to our lovely balcony complete with hammocks. The resort is an eco-resort and so they are very careful to be kind to the environment. Your room is complete with reef friendly glass water bottles for the filtered water stations throughout. The beach is rocky all around Cozumel so bring your water shoes! The water is clear and warm. We rented a wave runner from the place next door. I highly recommend renting a car from one of the many guides in the lobby and seeing the small island . There is one main road and lots of scooter traffic. With the advice Of our shuttle bus driver, we decided against a scooter and we were glad we did as it was sooooo hot! The other side of the island is remote but extremely beautiful with cool beach shack bars and surfers. We loved it so much we had to rent a car again! We loved our time here and will definitely return . The pool bars are busy but there are many close to the beach as well as waitstaff !

Yelp
Just returned from staying at this resort. It is far from town and I wanted to get away from everything. It certainly fit the bill! Can ride from airport was $35 without a tip. I recommend walking to the circle outside of the airport and getting a cab. No need to prebook expensive transportation! The grounds are amazing! This was my 4th trip to Cozumel and the best landscape I have experienced. The resort is lush, full of birds, peacocks, iguanas, flamingos and some cats. They take excellent care of the area. The beach is rocky and the water was not clear enough to snorkel because of a previous storm. The rooms were clean, but small. I would not recommend having 4 people in a room. We had two and talked about how bad it would be if we had more. Balcony and hammock were great for bird watching! The staff is like no other! Raphael at guest services is a gem. All of the staff go out of there way to make sure you have an amazing time. They have an enthusiasm that is infectious. I loved talking to them and learning about the culture. The fire show is a must. Wow! Seriously impressed. Pool workout is also great. They offer many activities if you are interested. Pool was very clean and had a swim up bar. The food was not good. The breakfast is the best. I recommend taking advantage of the omelette station or having them make you eggs. Fruit was delicious! Food was very bland. Best meal was from the Asian restaurant. Teriyaki meatballs were killer. Definitely a good value! Only wish the food was better.

Yelp
I bureau star Cozumel is the perfect place to grab a Cerveza, a beach chair, and just relax! One of the more peaceful and laid-back places in Mexico, Cozumel is the perfect place to do some snorkeling, scuba diving, beach time or just vegging out by the pool! We have always loved the Ibero star in Cozumel. It's 5 o'clock someplace.....actually here 24/7!

Jacqueline H.

Yelp
Be careful!!! Had jewelry taken out of room. Safe was not working and left the room for housekeeping to clean the room. After returning to the room the jewelry was missing. Reported it to the front desk. Security came to our room to search it and found nothing. Jewelry has not been recovered. On a positive note, the views are AWESOME of the ocean. Nice pool and place to sit on the beach. Nightly Food is mediocre at best.

Yelp
The first time I visited was in December of 2020 to celebrate the upcoming 2021 New Year with my boyfriend. He and his family had been here numerous times in the past and have always had good things to say about the resort. I was definitely spoiled my first visit because the resort was adhering to strict capacity rules due to Covid, so it made for a very intimate New Years celebration! The food was phenomenal (the New Year décor at the buffet was SO COOL!), the staff was so welcoming and kind, and the entertainment was hilarious! The views were stunning (I cried upon entry!), the resort was clean and very safe with private beach access, and overall surprisingly affordable! Our first visit here was so wonderful, that we decided to plan our 2023 wedding here! We decided to book a quick Labor Day trip (2022) to make sure it was a good fit, and Lina, the wedding coordinator was AMAZING. She was accommodating, honest and fully transparent! Our second visit did not disappoint with great food, snorkeling on the beach, and such hospitable staff! I want to commend Glendy. I met her in 2020 and she made me feel so at home and welcomed while on vacation. What shocked me the most was that she REMEMBERED me on my second trip! I was stunned! I think at that point I knew I had to get married here LOL! Thank you Glendy for your warmth during these two trips! I also want to shout out Jose at 2 Maria's for being such a gracious host! I am looking forward to seeing all 3 of these awesome people at Iberostar next year!

Yelp
If you've ever been to a luxury resort or a true 5 star hotel, let me stop you here. This is a 4 star hotel AT BEST & that's even a stretch. The grounds are the only 5 star aspect. Colorful thatched roof huts in a lush jungle setting with animals here & there. The pool is large with a swim up bar & next to the beach area which has palm trees for shade & some hammocks. That's where the good ends. Onto the bad... Food - a nightmare for anyone with allergies or dietary restrictions. The signs describing each dish are mostly incorrect eg "vegan" dishes have meat in them & pastas with cheese have no indication of containing dairy on the signs. OUTRAGE. Lawsuit waiting to happen. Otherwise, the food is rather mediocre with the exception of the oriental a la carte restaurant which is terrible & should be avoided at all costs. Trust me. Drinks - watered down, poor quality & served in plastic cafeteria cups for fountain drinks in the outdoor areas & lunch restaurant. The syrups used for frozen drinks are unbearable. The house wines (one white, one red, one rose) are not good. The red in particular is borderline undrinkable. Very disappointing compared to other all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean. Service - lackluster. Plates you're done with at the buffet restaurant don't get picked up until after you've gotten up from the table. They just continue stacking up on the table & staring at you as you run out of room for them. You have to flag down servers for refills. You'll be lucky if a server comes by once a day at the beach. Requests made to servers at the a la carte restaurants go unfulfilled. The only exceptions are the managers at the a la carte restaurants who are competent, friendly & eager to serve with enthusiasm. Other issues - toilet clogged the first day. Key didn't work 4 separate times. Fridge stopped working. Bottom line - this resort was disappointing and far from a true 5 star hotel.

Yelp
I liked Iberostar Cozumel. The grounds were beautiful with lots of tropical trees shrubs and flowers. The beach was flat with sugar white sand. You could snorkel right off the beach as see tons of tropical fish and other sea life. If you are a scuba diver there is a dive shop located right on premises. Everything you might need to rent is available, and the diving is world class! The food is good for an all inclusive resort. Don't get me wrong it isn't 5 star but there were highlights that made my wife and I take notice. So bottom line the food really is very good but nothing exceptional. We had a problem with our rooms plumbing. When we flushed our toilet "water" lol would back up from the shower drain. We mentioned this to management and the speed with which they had someone there snaking the drains was staggering! I was truly impressed! Staff was very friendly and almost all spoke pretty good English. All drinks including adult beverages were included. I like good spirits, and wanted better than the resorts normal well drinks. We paid extra for the Star Prestige package, I found the money worth it. It gave us free access to an exclusive area of the resort which included beachfront cabanas far better spirits as well as exclusive snacks, deserts and a concierge. I would book a vacation at Iberostar again.

Danny R.

Yelp
Find somewhere else to stay. While aesthetically pleasing, this hotel is not worth the money. The food, while all-inclusive, was displeasing and borderline inedible. My family and I most often found ourselves eating elsewhere in town to avoid the resort food. More concerning, however, was how we were treated at checkout. We were running late for our ferry (and by extension, our flight), and the front desk insisted that we go through a checkout process with them wherein we had to pay a "standard" environmental fee that I hadn't heard about any time prior. After we were checked out and had paid, we said we had left our pool towels in our room because we had returned late the night before, after towel return had closed. The young lady at the front desk retained our ticket to exit the gate and REFUSED TO LET US LEAVE until the towels were brought to them. They dawdled in finding someone to go pick up the towels, so I had to SPRINT to our room to get the towels in order to leave the property to make our boat on time. We will not be returning, so thank you to Carolina at the front desk for making our lives more stressful while we were supposed to be relaxing.

Yelp
We visited the Iberostar Cozumel five years ago and loved our experience so much that we decided to come back this year 2021 July 15 to the 20th. This time our experience was terrible. DANGEROUS! Our friends were robbed by the security guard. Late at night he pick them up on a golf cart and drop them at the lobby to get food he then asked for their room number which was confusing to them but they gave it to him thinking he would take him them there. Nope! They walk to the room to find the security guard coming out of their room down the stairs hopped on his golf cart and drove off. He stole over $500 for the sunglasses and money from there SAFE! How? Well let me tell you. They have access to anybody's room they do not need your key card they also have a key to your safe in case anyone gets locked out of there safe. You may be thinking that that once they made a report to the general manager that everything was taken care of and their minds will put it is that was not the case. The general manager spent over 12 hours questioning them and going back on their statements, changing times, questioning them, even tossing their room at 8 o'clock with gloves, with them present, to ensure that they themselves did not stash their stolen items. They continuously try to hush the situation not let everybody know and to blame it on my friends and try to cover up their actions. I suggested calling the police and Isabel at the front desk scoffed and laughed at me! The food was terrible! Not to mention killing the enormous roach in my room at 1 AM not to mention the broken handle on that for the towel rack and the knobs on the drawers it was just pitiful not five star. I have had mosquito bites for 6 days! Don't forget your toiletries. 19 dollars for Tums. Kids touching food at buffet and putting it back. New rule: TAKE YOUR KIDS TO THE BUFFET! So nasty! Hot food was cold and cold food was hot. Don't bother with the steak. It is like fried SPAM! Positives: Elizabeth (Anna) is a waitress with the kindest heart and best service! Swimming in the ocean was amazing!

Yelp
Wow. My girlfriend and I have been on many a trip together but this one was easily the best! The weather was NOT perfect. We left the resort 2 different times and had less than stellar meals. But when we were in Iberostar we were living like royalty! We both drank a lot of tequila and ate a ton of food and cannot wait to go back. The employees quickly became our friends and we looked forward to seeing them every time we chose to leave our amazing room! The bed was comfortable and the cleaning crew did a wonderful job keeping our place comfortable and clean every single day (we were there for 6 nights and would have loved to stay longer). The resort is beautiful. The food was great overall (some better than others. LOVED the restaurant nights) but it was the staff that really took this trip to the next level for us. Here are just SOME of our favorite staff members who deserve recognition and pay raises! (oh and tip ALL staff members they work hard and deserve it!). Fidel the Manager (you are the man!) Hevik the coolest bartender Reyes the theater bartender GRACIAS! Joe aka Loco! lol. Roger our go-to bartender. Super nice. Francisco aka young and fly! Raymundo with the hairnets! lol. Orlando got the pier and entrances on lock Cristian the amazing server! Armando another youngblood and a great bartender and David who greeted us when we arrived, helped us with our bags and recommendations and was cool as hell. Thanks to all these people and more!! (sorry if I forgot to name you. everybody working here is amazing!). We will be booking again very soon. THANKS!!!

Yelp
They turn the AC off at night and have no remorse. Do not drink the "purified" "clean" water that they push on you-- we were sick for days!!! Stock up on water before 7pm because once everything closes, and the AC goes off, and jungle humidity sinks in... it's not fun or breathable (and all you're left to drink is the "purified" water ). The stars are simply for the location, beach, and amenities because they are AMAZING (Plus our check in host was a wonderful lady)! I would HIGHLY recommend you consider getting a day pass for the resort (about $75/per person a day) and lay your head somewhere where AC is consistent like Playa Del Carmen.
google avatar

Kira R.

Yelp
Had a great stay with Iberostar! The food was plentiful and delicious, the beach was nice, and the entertainment was top notch. Alejandra, Daniel, and Amber were great and got everyone in the theater night after night for fun shows. Really talented. Only suggestion I would have is for a jacuzzi! Pool was big besides that. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
We visited for our anniversary and had hoped that we'd be able to enjoy dinner at one of the restaurants they include with the all-inclusive. The only problem with that is they required a reservation. No big deal, I'll just look on the app and find a time right? Nope. Not only was there no availability but one of them is only open 2 nights out of the week. So because we didn't want to eat buffet we left the hotel and found a restaurant outside of the facility. As an all-inclusive resort you'd think that they would make it a little easier to dine in should you not want the recycled dishes they offer in the buffet.

Yelp
Surprise update from the future: we came back. No Norteno winds meant no sewer smell! Still beautiful grounds. Still friendly staff. It would be nice to be recognized as returning guests after almost a decade of yearly holidays here. Still watered-down well booze. Their bar system needs a complete overhaul. I'd much rather have 2-3 really well made cocktails that get me pleasantly drunk/buzzed than have 8-12 fairly crappy drinks that get me mildly intoxicated. I'm definitely in the wrong place for that. Weird quirk of the year... no playing cards in the gift shop. WTF, Iberostar? -cards were strangely difficult to find on the island at all. Still pleasantly remote and very comfortable. Perfect location for diving or exploring the island. Still buffet dining at 19 out of 21 meals. Still packed with friendly Canadian guests. Will we return for an 8th year in a row? Stay tuned until next year and find out!

Bill L.

Yelp
We couldn't take an airline on my reservation dates! So Iberostar would not honor their policy and let us visit them on later dates! They kept our money $1,800. with no refund nor change of dates!

Charles S.

Yelp
My review for the past week Food Was mediocre at best I did enjoy the Asian restaurant and I have to say the staff in the specialty restaurant was much more attentive than the Buffet that is to be expected. The staff in the Buffet almost refused to bring you anything to drink on most days and I'm more concerned about where you're sitting than if you've actually have silverware. I have had worse food at resorts but it was simply just not the best. The rooms were very clean and well done but however most of the people I talk to and myself included found the air-conditioning to be so poor it could not even keep the sheets dry on the bed. Clothes hung up to dry when simply remain exactly as damp as they were. They did a very good job cleaning the rooms and we're very attentive. You could hear very little noise from room to room and a good nights sleep was easy to get once the air conditioner decided to catch up. The dive shop did a very good job for the amount in Divers we brought in which was more than 20 and near 30. It's not the style of diving I like doing is we were diving with eight in a group which caused lots of people to leg behind and other people that have to wait on them. It was not the divemaster's fault as it's what was required by the company itself. So if you're diving in a group understand you could have one guide per eight divers. The front desk staff was almost to the point of being rude most times and were very little help. At times even being aggressive. I felt they had no desire to actually help you and when more than four people showed up and created a very long wait for them to get you checked in as there are very few staff actually doing this process. I forgot to add if it rains all public places flood as the roofs have holes in them. Dinning was a disaster when it rained as floors and tables were covered in water. Overall it was an acceptable trip just not one is going to be outstanding in my book.

Yelp
Yet another fun port destination of Carnival Cruise Line! So much activity to choose from in Cozumel..snorkeling, shopping, beach, relaxation, restaurants/bars, etc. What to do, what to do??? We chose the relaxation route at this beautiful all-inclusive resort! The Iberostar Cozumel offers a peaceful environment, complete with chairs/umbrellas poolside or beachfront, cool bevies, and tasty breakfast AND lunch! Since this is a resort which draws divers, there is an added bonus!!!! You are able to easily snorkel right off their pier!!! Water is calm, shallow, and teeming with beautiful tropical fish !! Facilities are clean and well-kept, and staff is friendly! The features brought us back for a second year! We easily booked this excursion through the online site: resortforaday.com

Yelp
If you like liquor and beautiful beaches, nothing more nothing less, this is the place for you. The rooms are damp, rampant with mosquitoes, moldy smell, and the food was subpar. All buffets which is great for people who are so drunk they have no idea they paid thousands of dollars to eat movie theatre quality nachos every night. Beautiful appearance and the fact that the island is beautiful will make you accept the negative aspects of the resort. Lots of beautiful natural habitat and animals.

Hemang N.

Yelp
Our stay at Iberostar was great. The food is flavorful, clean rooms, and the services were great. Most of all the people who work there are awesome. Flor at the front desk was particularly helpful. My little nitpick would be the nightly entertainment is not as great as some of the places in Cancun, but its still good. Do not forget to meet Pepe, the resident parakeet in the lobby. Our daughter really liked the Kids camp and all the kids camp workers were great. The drinks as expected are quite watered down but you don't want a bunch of drunk people at an all inclusive.

Yelp
We just came back from the Iberostar Cozumel with a group of 26 guests. The resort is beautiful, and is not set up like a typical hotel. The rooms are in small round bungalows, and the entire grounds are filled with tropical vegetation and animals. The pool areas are large, and the beach/lounge areas had ample space for all of our guests. The dock allows you to walk past the limestone area at the beginning of the surf, and swim or snorkel with hundreds of fish right on the property We came with a large group of scuba divers, and the on-site dive shop (Dressel Divers) is super convenient. They were super friendly, professional, and accommodating. The dive locations were sometimes a few minutes off the resort, so you really had no wait times, and you got to maximize your vacation in-between dives. Gear was great, and you can't beat the dives. We have been to many all inclusive resorts, and the food and drink is above average to the other places we have stayed. If you come here expecting michelin star rated restaurants, you will be disappointed. If you expect Belvedere vodka and craft beers, you will be disappointed. The three restaurants for dinner reservations were decent. We preferred the lunch and dinner buffet. There was always a massive variety of delicious food, and it was awesome that they were able to accommodate our larger groups whenever we asked. At the bars, the bartenders have no problem making you a margarita with whatever amount of tequila you prefer, and they have dos equis amber and lager throughout the resort. Don't forget to tip your wait staff and bartenders, and they won't forget to provide excellent service! After dinner the entertainment staff puts on a variety of shows at night, and after that you can continue to dance or relax in the lobby bar. We had some minor issues with our AC in our room, but they got it sorted ASAP. The mosquitos were an issue until we adopted bug spray as our go-to cologne. A small price to pay for paradise. The entire staff deserves a huge shout out. Everyone from the front desk, the entertainment staff, the servers, the bartenders, the dive shop, the maintenance staff, spa, etc... They are super friendly, and always helpful. No one ever asked for tips, but everything was always greatly appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the rest of our guests seem to agree. Thanks again for a memorable vacation!

Yelp
We are just wrapping up our stay here. I have found this resort to be charming in many ways: the location is ideal- far enough south to be private and close to the main diving locations. It's grounds are beautiful, clean, and full of wild life. The staff are always super friendly and accommodating. The food is good, if a little repetitive. (Try the fish tacos at the Tex-Mex restaurant). The villa style housing is really quite fun and unique. If you can, spend the money on a suite, it is worth it! Our room was updated, had two balconies, an amazing bathroom, and who doesn't love a hammock?! Also, our housekeeper was amazing and did a fantastic job every day. Cons: A/C does not work to our standards. With that being said, it is a tropical island, so be prepared to be hot a lot of the time. There is no a/c on the resort as everything is open air. The restaurant reservation system is a little funky too as you can only reserve three days and not all at once. Overall, I fell in love with Mexico while staying at Iberostar.

Yelp
I have videos showing the horrible conditions of the room. Requested a 2 beds they just rolled in a cot and said here you go. Door knob fell off and key wouldn't work. Shower with water running out of the ceiling with dried paint coming down probably toxic. Soap dispenser didn't work including a board outside had to be replaced because I almost fell through. Worst hotel stay I've ever had including the outside smelled like back up sewage. Place needs be shut down. We checked out early and didn't look back it was that bad. I don't like doing things like this but this was just awful and I don't want to post on social media but this is way across the line anyone should put up with on vacation and lost 2 days plus a travel day because had to check out early including food poisoning. Trust me don't book this hotel.

Yelp
When I think of Iberostar Cozumel I think of the warm and friendly faces of our "Star Friends," the resort staff whose warm smiles and friendly service made us feel attended to and cared for every day we were there. Since T and I were looking for an all inclusive relaxing vacation where we did not have to worry about anything except relaxing and getting a tan, we booked a short trip to Cozumel at an all inclusive resort. When our travel agent booked us here, we were excited and were looking forward to a few days of complete and utter relaxation. Well, I am happy to say, we got this and so much more!! This resort is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful lush green well maintained grounds, clean accessible pools with a pool bar and easy access to a small but private beach and a boardwalk. There is also a pond right by the cafeteria with FLAMINGOS, turtles, parrots, cats and all sorts of wild creatures delightfully seen roaming all over the grounds! The rooms are all located in small hut-like 2 story apartments and are small and cozy. The bed was a little uncomfortable and the pillows felt a little old. The fridge however was stocked with complimentary beer and other essentials while the bathroom was very clean and stocked with nice products and plenty of clean towels. The food here is SPECTACULAR! The stereotype of bad resort food absolutely does NOT apply here! For one, there are multiple dining options available for every meal. In addition to the large dining hall they have 2 other specialty restaurants. Our second night thee we tried to specialty Mexican restaurant on grounds. The tacos we had were excellent but we honestly missed the large abundance and diversity of the large dining hall with the huge variety of buffets to select from. Also, there are various self service ice cream machines throughout the dining halls so a delicious ice cream cone is usually only a short walk away from the pool or beach. The best thing about this resort along with the food is the entertainment!! They have an on grounds troupe called "Star Friends" and they put on a very elaborate live show every night! The theme changes but the same set of multi talented individuals take the stage and entertain you until late into the night. We attended an event every night we were there and the themes ranged from the Beatles to Titanic to stand up comedy to acrobatics and a fire show! Overall, I give this place 5 stars for an all inclusive fun, relaxing time! Book your trip today, you won't regret it!!

Yelp
I just came back from a 5 day trip with 4 friends. We had a great time! The resort is clean and updated. The shoes were great! There was a lot to do! We especially liked performers Alahandra and Armondo! They had lots of energy!

Yelp
About Dressel Divers : We did our PADI Open Water certification with Dressel Divers at Iberostar Cozumel and we are truly happy about our experience ! They helped us and guided us through every step, from the theory to the pool training and our 4 certification dives. We were extremely pleased about our instructors (Fab and Anna) friendliness and their focus on teaching us as much as they could while taking care of our safety. You truly feel "taking care of" at the same time as you are being taught how to become autonomous. A big thank you to Fab and Anna ! Regarding the dives : the area is amazing ! We saw barracuda, eagle rays, tortoise (...) - a beautiful diving spot ! Regarding Iberostar : We have really enjoyed our stay in Iberostar Cozumel ! Nice staff, good service, really good food, plenty of amenities / activities, beautiful location We are a couple in our 30s and we were looking for spending some relaxing time while passing our diving PADI open water. We are TRULY HAPPY about our stay in Iberostar Cozumel !

Yelp
Overall an incredible vacation and resort: top tier food, entertainment, service, and, of course, relaxation. FOOD: Excellent quality and variety. The buffets had quite the spread: several varieties of cheeses, meats, caviars, and more. The restaurants served delicious dishes with a great menu to choose from as well. There are three of these non-buffet eateries: oriental, tex-mex, and a steakhouse. The oriental eatery was by far the best. I recommend making reservations immediately upon arrival. The Christmas buffet was incredible: tons of seafood including Lobster tails, plus steak, turkey, and Mexican dishes. ENTERTAINMENT: Incredible. The entertainment team went above and beyond creating nightly shows off astounding quality and complexity. The team included fire breathers, spinners, arial silks, arial hoops, trapeze, acrobats, and even breakdancers. The production level was quite impressive overall. SERVICE: Top tier. In fact, the entertainment staff would sit and eat with you for meals and was excellent and keeping everyone happy and engaged. RESORT & GROUNDS: Beautiful and full of wild life. There were peacocks, flamingos, iguanas, turtles, and more all around at all times. DIVING & SNORKELING: World class. Right of the pier you could find beautiful colored fish and other sea creatures. At the same pier diving and snorkeling (glass bottom) boats would come to pick you up at very reasonable rates. We saw sting rays, starfish and many beautiful creatures. If you've never scuba dived either there are free try-outs in the pool every day - you can get the gear on and try hanging out under water. Overall a very nice resort and vacation place. NOTE: Other reviews mentioned poor showers. It turns out this is only due to Spanish/English translation - C = HOT (CALOR) and F = COLD (FRIO). This can throw you for a loop.

Yelp
Can not recommend Iberostar more! Fabian and Victor were absolutely phenomenal! They made sure every one of our dinners were memorable and enjoyable events of the evening. We highly recommend spending you vacation here, they went above and beyond to make every day was one to remember! And for events- Daniella was spectacular- so enjoyable & made the evenings such a fun event!

Yelp
Similar story to Amanda L. in earlier reviews, I can not stress enough how dangerous and unsafe it is to stay at this hotel. Have anything valuable? Keep it with you at all times. Not in the safe, not in your room. Do not keep it anywhere but on your person at all times because this hotel and their employees will steal from you. During our stay here, we had a phone taken by an employee (as we know this due to apple pinging it's last location in the local, residential part of town that no guests would want to be at or should be at. Especially when it pings to a local house that most certainly is not a hotel, Airbnb, or anything of the sorts). After making a report, the hotel did nothing about this situation. When we had checked in, we received notice that the hotel was without AC and had been since 2 days prior of our check-in (which we had not been given any notice of the on-going issue). Want to blow dry your hair? Good luck, our power blew out 10 seconds into use and when we called front desk and informed them, their first response was "did you use the hair dryer?" Honestly, this is a joke of a resort that claims to be "5-stars". If you have any problems, the employees at guest services outside of Flor are extremely rude and unhelpful. If you're looking to make use of the dive shop located on the grounds, don't even try unless you like diving in groups of 12+. You're better off calling a local dive shop and having them pick you up at the dock there at the hotel. The food was alright at the buffet. The food was really good at the Mexican Restaurant and Oriental restaurant however be forewarned that you are only given barely any "reservations" for the 3 restaurants located at this all inclusive. For our 5 night stay, we only got 2 reservations. Website says the COVID test is included? You better make sure you're there within the minute because they will try to charge you $25 a head if you have to reschedule (even if you try 24 hours ahead of time). Moral of the story, this resort is a scam. Don't waste your time or your money.

Yelp
Only giving it 5 stars because its an all inclusive resort and they have a rental car company on-site. Also I went with a dive group here and there is a dive company right on site, they will also service your equipment too for free, just give them tips. The food is VERY ehh and I hated that the bed sheets were always damp. I'd come back again but I hated that the demographics were all just old people above 55 years old. I'd just come back for the diving.

Yelp
This review is going to reflect our bad experience at Iberostar Cozumel on our second day Of the trip $2000 were stolen out of our safe Additionally 11,000 pesos were stolen out of our safe as well. We immediately called security and a manager came to our room ,when they got into the room they went through the whole room even our intimate garments trying to check if we were hiding the money completely invading out privacy. They asked us to give them three days to investigate we explained to the manager that the only people who have access to the room is hotel staff therefore the money could not have disappeared someone had to have taken it. The three days the hotel asked for were given and they called us back on Friday and asked us to come to the hotel to talk about the issue and they would even pay our taxi fee.We got to the hotel and they said that they were not going to make themselves responsible for the stolen money because the employee that accessed the room had been working there for a while. Therefore the hotel was not responsible. Additionally they tried to bribe us with a hotel room upgrade but we explained to them we do not want a bribe or any kind of compensation what we want is our hard earned money back. While we were exploring Cozumel locals, then informed us that it is not the first time that guests have items stolen from the room. We will not recommend this hotel to our friends or family as the hotel the hotel chain does not make themselves responsible for their employees bad actions.

Yelp
Fun, casual get away place! Large enough I never felt cramped or closed in. Swimming pool clean and refreshing with swim up bar. In the pool scuba instruction for the grandkids was great. Drinks good, food ok. Nice swimming off the steps on the pier. Attentive staff and cute casitas to stay

Jamey G.

Yelp
I would give this zero rating if I could. Would have been Really nice to know ahead of time that they bring people bring the cruise lines onsite for the day. Had to compete to get chairs at the pool and beach along with trying to get to the pool bar. Completely unacceptable. Will never recommend nor visit an iberostar resort again. First and last time.

Yelp
We recently spent our annual anniversary celebration at Iberostar in Cozumel. Every year we either take a cruise or stay at an all inclusive resort. We were so impressed with this establishment's commitment to health and their precautions were taken very seriously by each and every staff member. But the entertainment.... It was incredible! All of the entertainers were outstanding! Angelo Morales was especial charismatic and entertaining and instantly helped us to feel welcomed and valued. This was a fantastic experience, and we can't wait to return.

Yelp
Awesome resort! My family of 5 (2 adults and 3 young kids) just left after 5 days and we had an amazing time. We especially loved the Star Camp and huge shout out to Ishmel and Rosa, the kids loved them and they made it such a fun experience!

Yelp
Looked for weeks for the perfect place to stay in Cozumel for our family vacation. I stayed at Iberostar in Cancun before and that was amazing so I figured I can't go wrong. Since an amazing beach and pool are key to the perfect vacation for me, Before booking, I checked their website multiple times and call them specifically to ask if their beach was a "swimmable beach". They informed me it was. We arrived to find that nothing on their website was accurate and found other issues during out 7-day stay: The beach is all coral and rock and NOT SWIMMABLE. It honestly looks nothing like the website photo The rooms are old and moldy. Looks like they haven't been updated since the 60's, although they are working to renovate them now. I had 3 rooms.... ours was bug infested. They sure didn't use these rooms for their website. There is no storage (drawer space) so we had to live out of suitcases. The pool is old as well and needs to be updated. The resort itself is beautiful but needs other updates. The food wasn't bad but could be better. Aside from the buffet they have 3 restaurants (oriental, steak and Tex mex). I give the food services 2 stars If ur into diving, this might be the place for you. For me, they need to make some major changes... and for these reasons....I'm out!

Yelp
We had a good vacation overall however after visiting other resorts this one was our least favorite - Cons- Toilet - couldn't flush tp (?) our toilet was clogged daily Reservations to dinner- you had to make reservations for dinner (the good food) and you only get 2!?!? While at dinner there were 5 tables eating so this made no sense. Shuttle to airport or town/excursion - no shuttles to and from airport, or excursions or to town. A resort should at least give you options Night life - I'm not one to party hard but this place overall shuts down at 7pm. No shows/ music, nightlife nothing! Pool closes 7pm Rocky beach- bring beach shoes I repeat !!! The beach is so rocky that it's hard to access even with shoes. Service- no beach pool service- we had to get our own drinks each time. Again compared to other resorts just not use to this No tv stations English- not that we're in our rooms often but I enjoy watching that night. Especially since we had to go back to the room after dinner. No stations In English Rooms small and often had bugs Restaurant and common areas not ac- super hot eating dinner and relaxing. Says free kayaks paddle boards (none here) and snorkel equip. You actually have to pay a fee Had to purchase sunscreen. It's a racket. 24$ for sunscreen. Come on Towels. You can't use poool towels unless u give them your room key. Guess they don't trust guests

Yelp
Love that they always have hot water n the grounds are wonderful! It's Very clean n staff is friendly And helpful but air conditioning system doesn't work correctly n by the time you dry from a shower you need another shower. Rooms are beautiful but extremely humid. That's only real complaint but it's giant considering it's a tropical island.

Yelp
It's just not worth it and the rooms are filthy and dated and the service is so poor. This is my last time here. My room was without AC when we checked in today. We called 3 times to no avail. We noticed some ants upon arriving but had no idea how bad it was. We called them twice to spray and they never came and finally when we went to dinner we called a third time and expected it was done when we got back. Wrong. My kids got back to the room and as kids do, jumped in bed. I lost it when i saw some crawling on my son. I screamed and wiped him off. Naturally they were then crawling on me. I looked Down and saw both the beds had ants. The walls. The counters. The nightstands. It's now midnight, I've called the front desk screaming at them and so they are aimlessly trying to find a solution. In the meantime I've packed us up and refuse to sleep in this room. Do you blame me? This hotel is the pits. I can handle ants. But not in my room, my bed, on my kid and when I'm in a nice hotel on vacation. Wish I could post all my videos of the ants all over the rooms, our bed and my kids!

Yelp
While we were on the island for the November 30th IRONMAN Cozumel, we booked and stayed with Iberostar Cozumel, even though it is one of furthest away from the IRONMAN event area, and especially because of it. This one is in a chain of Iberostar hotels worldwide. It is an all-inclusive resort style mainstay. Once you landed you never have to venture outside the walls of this resort. They have-- - Bungalow style suits - Two large dining hall style restaurant - Pools, kiddy pools, and a bar you can swim right up and take a seat - Spa (booking with front desk) - Tennis and basketball courts - Direct and immediate access to sandy beach - Variety of daily activities like water sports, archery practice, salsa/merengue dances - Variety dinner theater shows - Even has a certified and all-functional dive shop Also, within the resort and its garden are the cohabiting *wild* animals. You can see flamingos and peacocks and roaming cats and harmless sun-lounging lizards, and we were pretty sure we spotted a capybara one night coming back from dinner. Everyday they come in a refresh your room, put a different towel animals on your bed, restock your mini-fridge (which is included as well, no extra charge!) It was especially helpful to have cool bottled water everyday, because of the pre-conceived reputation of Mexico water, and we don't want any ill to befall right before we complete IRONMAN. With small additional charges, you can add more amenities like wi-fi access, or organized tour to spots on the island like the Mayan archeological ruins, the Tequila Tours, the SCUBA excursion dives, and I think there is even a skydiving and ziplining spot in the middle of the island. I got nothing to complain about with this place, and will definite book again next time I'm here, minus the IRONMAN, and plus more dives.

Yelp
We traveled here right before Christmas with a family of 4 with two teenagers (14 & 16) and it's a nice resort. The hotel itself was probably running at 30% capacity and had good COVID mask protocols in place. You had to have a mask on to enter all restaurants. The rooms were a really cool bungalow style setup and the one we had was right next to the beach and pool. You had to have a reservation for all restaurants except for the buffet and snack shack but both of those had good food. At restaurants the drink refill service was hit or miss as often you had to refill your drink yourself. The food was good but not the best I've ever had. Breakfast was our favorite meal. The beach itself was really nice and had a really cool setup of palm trees, lounge chairs and hammock's with some in the sun and some in the shade. If you want to spend time in the ocean at this resort you will be disappointed as it's all reef and you can't just walk in without stepping on rocks, etc. They do have a pier that you can walk out on and enter the water 40 yards or so out but we always like to play in the water directly from the beach. There is a dive shop attached to the resort that was very busy so if you want to dive in Cozumel this would be a great option for you. We were disappointed by lack of activities for teenagers such as pool tables, teen club, ping pong, giant outdoor chess, etc as non of those existed at this resort and we've come to really like those amenities at other resorts we've been too. Having said that, this resort did have one area under construction that had one visible pool table but it was closed when we were there. The resort did have bags, beach volleyball, tennis and a basketball court and we loved those. The entertainment staff also did a good job with organized activities like pool volleyball, water polo, etc. I recommend using a taxi for transportation to/from the airport as it's only $30 each way for a family of 4.
