We were really disappointed with our recent visit to iberostar waves hall January 5-12th 2026.||This hotel should either hire more locals for support or should close down to fix the issues below. ||1.) Elevators were not working 70% of the time we were here. I am recovering from my a hip adductor injury and was travelling with my elderly mom. The stairs were brutal, especially with luggage. This was not communicates to us prior to arrival or even at arrival.||2.) The facilities were very run down (or maybe impacted by hurricane and not fixed), for example, the main bathroom beside the beach had no door handle to get in. It was completely broken. Additionally, another bathroom door did not close at all due to what appeared to be damage to the wood.||2.) When the elevators did work (30%) of the time, there was a significantly disgusting urine/fish/sewer smell. I was unable to figure out what it was, but it was not good.||3.) The grounds were being maintained by the staff (great), but it was done at the cost of the guests. There was construction noises and unfortunately we were unable to use the seating areas close to the lobby that were outside as construction was happening. None of this was communicated to us, nor reflected in the price.||4.) Buffet service was so slow. We would sit down for breakfast and not be served coffee until we were almost done. Additionally, during busy times, tables were not set quickly enough and we had a hard time finding a clean place to sit.||5.) Beach is nothing like what is portrayed in the pictures by the resort. We did not swim or stay at the beach at all, it was very rocky, dirty, and tight… the pictures were so deceiving. Do not come here if you are after a beautiful beach vacation.||Positives - The food was amazing and the people were friendly. ||However, I will not be back.
