Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach

I don’t know where to begin. We went with 4 other families and had 10 kids between us all. An utter disappointment is an understatement. Staff was extremely rude as if we were bothering them being there. The beach was littered with trash. There are vendors in canoes blocking access to the ocean selling items and cat calling to get people over to them to buy stuff not to mention asking beach goers to get them food. The lady at the burger shack was extremely rude, always with a scowl on her face. We were ignored a few times trying to order food for the kids. The jerk chicken shack was delicious and the staff there were great. The buffet hall reeked of fish past its expiration date and fried oil. It was disgusting and very unappetizing. The food overall was mediocre at best. The pool area was super loud. Constant music or someone speaking into a microphone blaring through one speaker. I enjoy music by the pool, but the volume of it was unbearable. There were also no smoking signs everywhere at the pool area, but not enforced. A group of guys in their 20s were smoking joint after joint and there was no enforcement for them to stop. Not family friendly at all. The entertainment at night was in the open courtyard area and was so loud it seemed like they were right in our room. It was hard to fall asleep at night with all the noise. Not to mention the kids were up all night because of the noise. The rooms are in major need of an update. They are basically falling apart and held together by a bandaide of very noticeable caulk and plaster. Lipstick on a pig. I would not recommend this resort to anyone looking for a family friendly or relaxing vacation. There was no fitness center or spa on the property. I will say the grounds are kept very well and I appreciate seeing them mop down the pool area every morning, as well as never running out of towels at the pool area. Other than that it was not an enjoyable stay.

Wonderful last minute family trip. Rooms were nice, clean and in good condition. Reception and concierge staff were all helpful. Some maintenance going on around the hotel after the hurricane however it doesn't disturb you and its great to see how resilient the Jamaican's are after such a tough time. The restaurants were all great. Food choice is brilliant and waiting staff are all lovely. John-Pierre in the Buffett restaurant was so lovely and always gave a great service. The bars all have a great choice of drinks available. Rohan down on the beach bar is the most amazing bar man and will make you whatever cocktails you like. The entertainment team were all brilliant, they kept the place lively without being in your face. They got all the kids and adults involved in activities and alway did the most amazing dance routines. In particular Freshh, V6, Finez, Concrete, Too Short and Red Bull. The evening shows were all great, DJ Turbo / Fresh on the DJ decs was so lovely and played songs to keep the kids entertained whilst waiting for the shows to start. Only criticism here is that show's don't start until 9:30pm which just feels a little too late for the kids. The kids club was lovely, staff really good with the kids and it's great how on the app you can see what activity the kids are doing and where they are so you can go check in on the kids whenever. The team at the diving water sports centre were all lovely. We did the snorkelling/catamaran tour which I fully recommend doing. The team on the boat were brilliant all very knowledgeable and really helped our small children get involved and in the water safely. The only thing we didn't like / we're a little confused by was the day after we arrived we were asked to go for breakfast over at the next door hotel and told they might talk to us about some things we could do. When we got there it was a buffet exactly the same as our hotel and then a 90minute sales pitch to get us to sign up to a holiday club. We just felt a bit caught off guard. They did give us some vouchers for attending and the staff were all lovely but we just felt a bit bombarded by the whole thing and would have rather just had that time to enjoy our holiday than have hard sales pitch. That being said although the other hotel next door seemed nice from what we could see it wasn't much different from our hotel. We also meet lots of guests who paid to stay at that hotel but ended up coming over to our hotel as they just said that the atmosphere was better and there was more going on with the music / entertainment team etc. so I fully recommend saving a bit of money and booking the waves rather than the more expensive suites hotel next door.

KK WAS AWESOME!! So personable and she made a tidied shirt and bag for me. It was neat to watch the process... loved the foam party and watching the staff dancing together! They know how to get the party going!! Shw checked on us ro see what we were up to and kept us informed of what was happening. Loved that she took a picture with us Thanks KK!! V6 took a photo with me which was so kind!!! Helped get the vibes for the party started!!!! Cajel was so very helpful and helped answer questions about the schedule and helped me with a phone setting and oh what a lovely sense of humor. Very sweet and made sure we had what we needed! Thank you!!

We had a great relaxing time here! The poolside entertainment crew was awesome! Fresh, Red Bull, KK and Concrete kept the vibe happy and fun! So many others as well… Nardia from the sports bar was hilarious. The staff here really made this place one of the best vacations we’ve ever had! Thank you to all!

The experience was great. V6, too short and sparkles (MC) were amazing entertainers and hosts for the night and the duration of our stay. It was a pleasure to enjoy games and activities with them by the pool and beach. Food was amazing, club was popping, DJs were on point with great music. Overall great experience! Would come back for my next trip : )

Food, staff and weather were very good. Beach and ocean rocky, muddy and lots of seaweed. Room was okay, but we were above the sports bar and it was extremely noisy from 9pm to 2:30pm. We discussed with the front desk to no avail. Safe did not work and took 4 hours to get resolved. Other parts of the room was good. Nice bathroom and bed. Mini bar restocked everyday. Cleaning staff did a good job. Italian, Japanese, Smokehouse and buffet restaurants the best in the Caribbean. Only reservation required for the Japanese restauurant. The hotel just opened from the hurricance just before Christmas. They have done a very good job getting it repaired. Price of the trip was good and likely the cheapest it will ever be in Jamaica. We only did the Luminous Lagoon. What a cool experience.

We were really disappointed with our recent visit to iberostar waves hall January 5-12th 2026.||This hotel should either hire more locals for support or should close down to fix the issues below. ||1.) Elevators were not working 70% of the time we were here. I am recovering from my a hip adductor injury and was travelling with my elderly mom. The stairs were brutal, especially with luggage. This was not communicates to us prior to arrival or even at arrival.||2.) The facilities were very run down (or maybe impacted by hurricane and not fixed), for example, the main bathroom beside the beach had no door handle to get in. It was completely broken. Additionally, another bathroom door did not close at all due to what appeared to be damage to the wood.||2.) When the elevators did work (30%) of the time, there was a significantly disgusting urine/fish/sewer smell. I was unable to figure out what it was, but it was not good.||3.) The grounds were being maintained by the staff (great), but it was done at the cost of the guests. There was construction noises and unfortunately we were unable to use the seating areas close to the lobby that were outside as construction was happening. None of this was communicated to us, nor reflected in the price.||4.) Buffet service was so slow. We would sit down for breakfast and not be served coffee until we were almost done. Additionally, during busy times, tables were not set quickly enough and we had a hard time finding a clean place to sit.||5.) Beach is nothing like what is portrayed in the pictures by the resort. We did not swim or stay at the beach at all, it was very rocky, dirty, and tight… the pictures were so deceiving. Do not come here if you are after a beautiful beach vacation.||Positives - The food was amazing and the people were friendly. ||However, I will not be back.

Keirah was very helpful and understanding. She was a big part of making this a perfect week. We were here to celebrate my retirement. Staff, food, beach, sun, and of course Jamaica made this a great holiday! The resort is completely ready for guests. You could not tell there was a major hurricane back in October
