ibis Basel Bahnhof

We had a very nice stay in Basel. The Ibis Hotel is within easy walking distance from the SBB rail station and the cost was low for that area. The room was basic, clean, and well furnished, and the breakfast was tasty and offered many choices. The best part for us was that we had requested extra pillows in the room (medical reasons), and the very pleasant desk clerk saw that note when we checked in, and asked us how many we would like. She even offered to bring them up to the room for us. We have made that special request often, but this was actually the first chain hotel that has acted on it. Excellent service. Highly recommended.

Two stars only because of the good location, that's all. At least the sheets are clean. When I checked in, I mentioned the bathroom was dirty, and reception quickly and politely sent a housekeeper. These are the photos after the cleaning, at my request. Unfortunately, they're just taking their money. Dear Ibis, there are only 2 towels. Should I wipe my butt and face with one towel? Excellent location close to the railway station and with trams outside. As always, a friendly and efficient check-in (Basel cards already sent by mail). Spacious, quiet room. Good value for money, what more could one want?

We came to Ibis because we missed our train due to delays; two very disappointed girls who were not knowing what to do next. The receptionist at the nightshift was amazing; he helped is so well and made us feel super welcome! Eventhough we could see had multiple jobs to do over the night, he took all the time to help us and made us feel like nothing was ‘too much to ask’. He literally changed our mood completely and we are very greatfull for that. Thank you very much!!

We stayed here for 1 night as we had an early flight to the airport. Room. Was clean on the small side but ok for one night. Girls on reception were very friendly. Bathroom was a shower. dispenser shower gel on the wall. 2 paper cups provided. Bed was good. We didn’t have breakfast as we left too early. Room was not the quietist we could hear the vibrations of the tram outside but it was fine for what we needed. 15 minutes to the airport less than 5 from train station.

Stayed two nights at ibis Basel Bahnhof. Room was clean and comfortable, great location near the train station and tram stop. Loved the free public transport pass! Reception staff are kind and helpful.Only issue was some confusion with the staff about canceling another hotel — still resolving it. Overall, convenient and good for short stays.

I stayed two nights at ibis Basel Bahnhof. The location is excellent — only a 10–15 minute walk from Basel’s main train station, with a tram stop just outside. They also gave me a free transit pass, which was super helpful and appreciated.||My room was basic but clean and comfortable, facing the street but still quiet.||One issue: I asked the receptionist to help me cancel my next hotel booking in Dijon, and while they called and said it was done, I later found out I was still charged. It might’ve been a language misunderstanding, but it was frustrating.||Despite that, I found the stay comfortable, and the staff were generally polite. It’s a good option for short stays with easy access to transport.

Basic room, clean and comfortable. If you’re looking for need a kettle pop to reception and ask. Breakfast was varied but was let down by the hot choices being cold. Parking almost impossible and had to use the nearby train station parking for 30CHF per day. It’s 10 minutes walk from the zoo which was a bonus I suppose
