Where to Stay in Berlin When You Visit (Updated 2025)

"A simple but comfortable three-star option with basic rooms that offer lots of natural light, parquet floors, a desk, free Wi‑Fi, and a flatscreen TV; the large breakfast buffet makes it functional, comfortable, and affordable." - Matthew Kepnes

Nice clean hotel and room. Breakfast is decent. It is further out form the city center but very nice location. Close to U Bhan station, few restaurants, pharmacies, and grocery stores a bit further out. Very nice and friendly staff. Will stay there again when travelling to Berlin in the future.

One of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had. I had booked and fully paid for a room at this hotel, with confirmed reservations from both the hotel and Booking.com. But when I arrived, the reception staff outright refused to give me the room. Shockingly, around 20 other guests faced the exact same issue — all of us with valid, prepaid reservations that were simply ignored I and 20 other guests had spent a lot of money on flights and trains to come to hotel, only to have our time and money completely wasted. Because of their scam, I missed my business meeting and couldn’t even enjoy Berlin. My trip was ruined before it even started. The staff were shockingly rude — instead of helping us, they screamed at us. The so-called manager was a complete disgrace not only did he refuse to give refunds, but he didn’t even apologize. They literally threw 20 paying guests out onto the street and STOLE our hard earned money. The hotel staff refused to give us water when we arrive We called Booking.com for help, but they abandoned us . They did NOTHING to protect their customers The hotel is located in one of the most dangerous part of the city This part of the city has highest percentage of crimes in Berlin This hotel is a total scam, run by arrogant, dishonest, and utterly disrespectful people. They should not even be in business. Avoid this place like the plague. NEVER again.

A nice room, even though the window was small and the view a bit dim. I asked twice for change of towels, but I suspect a communication problem between front desk and housekeeping. The location was handy for me, though I can't say that it is a nice neighbourhood.

We booked a room for three people, but when we arrived, the sofa bed in the room didn’t come with any bedding, pillows, or blankets. We had to ask the housekeeping staff, who only brought us a sheet, and then we had to contact the reception to finally get the rest of the bedding. It seems reasonable that if a room is booked for three guests, it should be prepared accordingly. Additionally, the sofa bed was very uncomfortable, and honestly, I don’t think it’s suitable to be considered an extra bed. The room key cards kept stopping working, forcing us to go down to the lobby repeatedly to get them fixed. The neighborhood itself was unpleasant, and as young women, we did not feel safe there at all. Although the hotel is very close to the subway, it is definitely not a nice area, and there is nothing to do nearby. There was no air conditioning in the room during very hot days, making the room stuffy and uncomfortable. The only cooling was a ceiling fan. The staff was generally polite, which is the only positive aspect I can mention about this hotel. I would not recommend staying here. It’s better to pay a little extra and stay somewhere nicer and more

Fairly good stay. Staff and service was pretty good. Location a bit far for my liking and definitely not in the nicest of places (still pretty safe even if it doesn’t look like it). Everything works, looks and smells like it’s at least 30 years old, there’s a very faint aroma to cigarettes. You have to ask for room service at the counter but the staff was very nice and attentive. Some cobwebs and not so clean corners around the room. The room got waaaaay too warm at nights even though outside was fairly cold. You get what you pay for.

I'd put this place at about 3.5 stars but I'll round it up here. The service from all the receptionists I spoke to was stellar, so thanks to all of you. The room itself was reasonably comfortable, although warm as it is not air conditioned and it ended up being one of the hottest days of the year! The hotel is not in a particularly nice part of Berlin, and we were shouted at by an angry (presumably drunk) person as soon as we parked outside. Something about Deutschland, I don't have a clue 😂 The room was reasonably clean, though there were a lot of places with standing dust. The cleaning was also inconsistent, with only some of the three beds in the room having their sheets changed each day (all three were being used.)

Sadly when we were looking for an affordable place to book, we didn't know the hotel was located literally in the gang / unsafe neighborhood. The staff are pretty nice and helpful, we showed up with one extra guest without planning and they perfectly accommodated us in a 3 bedroom room instead of 2. However this is not a 3 star hotel, more like a 2 star. The rooms are pretty alright, but the sheets are made from synthetic material that makes you sweat. The toilets are not as clean as they can be. And there is literally no dishes in the room, no cutlery, no cups, whatever you want you have to keep going to the reception. And no kettle either so tea water also depends on the reception. Ibis is pretty ok but I would steer clear of this location Ps: everything is so far away. Supermarkets etc. everything needs you to get on the ubahn

There is no air conditioning in the room. However it was not warm and we could enjoy the stay there. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is a bit outside the City Centre.
