Excellent location. 2 train stations, busses, ferries, Southbank, Queen St Mall and botanic gardens within walking distance. Being a 3 star hotel, you can't expect everything to look super modern and fresh, but the room was very clean and beds comfortable. The bathroom was a little on the older side but very functional, spacious and clean. The buffet breakfast was fairly standard but still delicious and well cooked. The staff were very friendly and provided prompt service. We arrived a few hours early and intended to have them store out luggage until check in time so we could go off and do things, but our room was ready so they offered free early check in. All in all a very pleasant stay and we would definitely go back.

Google
Positive: the rooms are ok and housekeeping is done very well. The breakfast is basic but fine. The staff are friendly. The lifts are fast and always working. It is worth the price. Not-Positive: It's pity there is no car park and they don't share Mercure parking with guests. The car park they offer (a block away) is overpriced. The room we stayed had a window but it was not possible to open it. The room needed fresh air.

2nd time staying at this hotel and so pleased that the service is as good if not better than my previous stay. We arrived early and wet, we were so happy that we were able to check in early, dry off and relax. The beds are really comfortable, the rooms clean and spacious, as is the bathroom. Location is perfect. Only complaint I have and its a small one is that there was not enough milk, tea, coffee in the room. Would definitely stay again and have recommended to family and friends.

Good value for money room. Good location. Very impressed with the trainee receptionist (male) who was pleasant, followed up with an issue with his manager, came up to our room to follow up - and we got a complementary bottle of wine too! We have told everyone about how impressed we were with this hotel when you need a place to stay without requiring frills - not that anything wrong with room - clean, comfortable and functional - and a full length mirror and cotton wool and buds toiletries great.

This hotel needs some upgrading. The carpets throughout our room and hallways were badly stained and need changing. Poor tiny view out our window. The pool and weight room was located in the sister hotel next door (Mercur) and a long walk with swimsuit on through the Mercur lobby. No safe in room. No parking on-site-it's next door and $35/day. Now for the pros: the staff here are very helpful and friendly. Buffet breakfast for $15pp is outstanding and good value so load up! And, the location is quite good for attractions.

Pretty decent room for the price you pay. We got a free upgrade to balcony and a buffet breakfast that came with the room that we paid for. Balcony wasn’t super great but it was free haha. Great location. Super friendly staff. Room was very clean. Buffet breakfast was good, plenty of fruit, breads, juices, and hot meal choices. Good coffee. Really enjoyed our stay.

The room was a good size and well appointed (would have liked 2 chairs). What a great location in Brisbane. Ate at Mercure Thursday night. Quite expensive, three extremely thin and tiny scollops called an entree? The grab-n-go food idea chould have been great, however early Friday evening there were only two options available and both leftovers from Thursday. Had to go out and seek food instead of a nice night in. Also, had to actually go to your restaurant and read the menu on the table mat to find out what was available there. No menu in the room or at reception. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. Ok, the very best thing was your female staff.....so helpful! The lady on reception checked us in with genuine interest, another helped me find a good hairdresser and the women cleaning up at breakfast was just delightful! So nice to find staff in service areas who don't resent you and are pleasant not just efficient. Would, and have already recommeded your hotel to relatives and friends.

Really enjoyed staying here. Rooms are clean & very quite from all internal & external noises. The staff where very obliging. The room cleaners where fabulous. The breakfast buffet was Gr8 & very extensive. Price for rooms & food where very fare. Pool & sauna where fun for the kids. The Hitel is centrally located & an easy walk to the CBD, transport etc. Cheers

Yelp
I have stayed here before previously - about 6 years ago. Though this time it was great to see not much had change but also a little sad in a wat. I love this hotel for its location (as its close to so much, which helps to save on taxi/bus/train fare) and lovely staff, though rooms and bathroom were a bit outdated as the bathroom had definetly seen better days. Room was very stuffy, but couldn't open a window to help let fresh air in. But it was great for what we needed it for - sleep and a place to shower. Beds are what I remember, so comfortable and what I remember from my last trip - if you don't set an alarm you will sleep in as you think its still dark outside (which is great if you stay out all night exploring the city). The bar/restaurant was delicious! Only thing I could fault is from our dinner was personally we don't like calamri cut so thick, besides this it was delish as i loved the watermelon and giner with the calaari, and the soup of the day was amazing! My partner had the chicken curry which he loved, had a kick but not to much of a kick to wish you didn't order it. Will definetly be ordering more food from the menu! Only thing I wish it had gotten a face lift in the last 6 years - mainly the bathrooms.

Yelp
Wouldnt really call this place a hotel. More like an expensive hostel. Furniture is old holesnin curtains and tiles brokenm just doesnt seem like anyone cares about this place by the way it looks. Called for room service and you have to go downstairs to get your own towels. You also have to pay for wifi but its usually free at other hotels. For $150 a night you could do way better. Super disappointed.

Yelp
This place is a little bit hidden since there was construction when we visited. The lobby is a bit small and there's a staircase that leads you straight to the dining room. Once you get into your floor, you could tell that it was a older building or at last with its decor. The walls were a odd yellow color and had a weird layout. The rooms were found in indents of the wall with three rooms next to each other. The room was standard with a king bed, tv, desk, closet, and a pretty big bathroom. The staff was super nice and helpful. They do have free WiFi so that a plus. Would stay here again if ever in Brisbane again.

Yelp
Located just a stone throw away from Queen St Mall and the Southbank district, this spot is near all the key tourist spots in Brisbane. The hotel chain is quite well known and the rooms are very spacious. One issue is the fact that public transport is not too close to the hotel and is a bit of a walk however apart from that everything else is just about right. The staff in the lobby were friendly and the buffet breakfast, while quite expensive at $24 did have a good variety of food on offer each morning (you pay for the convenience really). The buffet included hash browns, bacon, tomatoes, fruit, pancakes, toast, cereals, spinach, vegetables and yoghurts. I stayed on the seventh floor overlooking the street (as opposed to the nice spots overlooking the river). Each room was equipped with a TV and small bathroom. The bathroom contained a shower bath combination that was difficult to get started however it worked in the end. A good place to stay and while it may not be the best money for value, the accommodation is good.

Yelp
Ibis Hotels are a pretty reliable hotel chain. The Brisbane Ibis is convenitently situated nice and close to the city and Roma Street. It is easy walking distance to food, with a Subway and Pie Face close by if you are really lazy. The room was nice a big, with a comfotable bed, desk, tv and reasonably sized bathroom. The floor got a little wet in the bathroom but otherwise it was a nice confortable stay.

Yelp
flew into Brissy from the states and it was a good place to "decompress" before finding a place. BOOK THROUGH EXPEDIA!!! OR SOME OTHER ONLINE SITE!!! rates were $220/night, single room at the desk. Half that online. The room was just like the picture and had a slight view of the river. We didn't care though as it was a great place to get through the jet lag. Lots of hosties & flight crew from Virgin airlines stay there and the lobby can get kinda crowded. on our 2nd night there, the fire alarm went off at about 1 a.m. apparantly, some party goers were having some fun at our expense. Other than that, it was a good stay and great location.

Yelp
Hi - stayed here for one night (Saturday), Rooms were clean and tidy. Beds (twin room) comfortable. Complimentary water was nice. The hotel props needs a bit of paint here and there and my 5 star review is for the overall experience - it's not a 5 star hotel - but, it was cheap, the rooms were a good size and nice, the location is close to town and Southbank, the guest relations people were all super nice!

Yelp
Toilets are not cleaned between guests. The entire bathroom floods when taking a shower. Basically a hostel. But it's cheap for the area.

Yelp
Decent location, but not right on public transportation - have to walk a bit north to reach the train or a bit south to reach the free CBD bus. We were still better off not having a car in the city, though, as parking is expensive here. The lobby was under renovation when we were there, which took an elevator out of service - so the lobby was at a small temporary desk on the next floor up, slowing down the whole process. However, at check-in they made it up to us by giving us a room with a very nice river view, free wifi, and one free breakfast. They also gave us an umbrella to borrow the night that it rained. The room was on the small side but very clean and up to date. Overall, very helpful staff here. The breakfast was pretty good - eggs, bacon, sausages, fruits, hash browns, and then randomly there was also congee and stir fry noodles there. Note that there is also a budget Ibis by the airport, so don't get the two confused. Overall, this was one of the cheaper options in the CBD and I think we got very good value.

Yelp
My review is well overdue but I was online and thought I would share my experience... The Hotel was nice and clean however I thought the room small in comparison to what I have experienced in the past also I was not aware that Wi-Fi was not free like... This was my 1st international trip so I learned quite a bit!

Yelp
Worst customer service I've ever had in my travels.. Being from the states and specifically from Las Vegas, Nevada I've got to work in a few different hotels and have had a lot of training and customer service and doing what ever it takes to make my guests happy. The ibis hotel however doesn't not care about your needs and are only after your money. After having an already terrible couple of days driving from Fraser Island trying to get down to New Castle for Christmas my partner and I decided Brisbane would be one of our stoping points for sleep/food then continue on the road the next day. With this in mind I decided to call Ibis to book ONE room for the night. The phone interaction was fine, they took my details including my phone, credit card and email. I found it odd he didn't read back any of my information to make sure it was correct but I didn't think much of it. Just ended the call and kept driving for Brisbane. An hour into our drive our car broke down and we had to use what little battery my partner had on his phone to call RACQ to get a tow to a mechanic who kindly told us he couldn't fix it til tomorrow. We proceeded to ask where was the closest place we could sleep and get food. We found a place to stay not to far from the mechanic. Flash forward to the next morning receiving a call from the Ibis saying they are going to charge us a $238 fee for the 2 rooms we booked... I told him first we've only booked for one room and then he said it'll be $119 fee then. (After they already charged the $238 to my account) I ask politely at first to refund the money because we never got to stay there due to our car breaking down and he replied. "It's our policy, you should have read your email.." mind you I never received a confirmation email even before my phone died. After speaking to 3 different managers none of them could help me. They just kept repeating, sorry and we can't refund it even though they said they could refund the 2nd accident charge. Needless to say the managers were very useless/unhelpful. Now I'm not one to write a review but this was very upsetting considering I never even got to stay in the room that was originally booked. But just by speaking to the management, it reflected what kind of stay I probably would have had anyways. For anyone that does stay there be sure to make sure that they repeat your information back to you and that you receive a confirmation email with all the terms and conditions listed so this doesn't happen to you. Safe travels and happy holidays folks!

Yelp
We stayed at this hotel because it was located near a convention center in Brisbane. While it is technically within walking distance of the subway station, I wouldn't suggest it as it is located down hill and our luggage was rolling away. Several locals did stop to offer us assistance. There were a number of people standing outside of the hotel smoking, which permeated inside of the hotel as well. The lobby is extremely small and it was always very crowded with people. While our room was technically clean, the bed linens remained damp the entire stay and we eventually went to a local Target to get our own linens. The shower had obvious issues with humidity and there was mold growing. They left us only one bottle of water and, located on the bedside table was a large advertisement for a massage service available to guests, although it specified "No Happy Endings!" The hotel was packed with people and, in the room next to us, it appeared that there were at least 10 people staying in one room. From a more positive perspective, it is located within walking distance of the downtown area, which was really great. The food options were plentiful in the area and we could walk to the convention center and several local parks. We also traveled to the Koala sanctuary from here, which was the best part of the entire trip. It was cheap and, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for!

Yelp
Room a little smaller than we were expecting. Top blanket was torn. Although room was over all clean and tidy. Lady in restaurant on Sunday was very helpful. Parking was painful. Goods and bad. Short would be ok.
